Diff b/w creation of Report in Shared folder and in My folder

Dear All,
May i know what's the diff b/w creation of Report in Shared folder and in My folder.
Is there any features changes.
Regards..

Hi,
you can add shared folders to roles and so give users assigned to this role the permission to use the reports in that folder. Reports and folders in My Folders are not sharable.

  • Question about shared variables and report generator

I have a project with about 200-250 shared variables and at every 12 hours i want to make a report containing information about some boolean and double front panel variables linked to the shared variables... Now, i've tried with both the "Write Trace to SpreadSheet File" function from DSC->History and with different functions from NI Report Generation Toolkit. My problem is this: i would like to get my xls file to contain just the timestamps when my shared variable changed value. As it is, the number of rows in the file depends, obviously, on the sampling interval given as input. As an example, in 12 hours, my shared variable would change value maybe 5-6 times. Thus i would like my xls file to contain just 5-6 rows with those 5-6 changes. If i set the sampling interval to say, a matter of seconds, that would mean too much unneeded information in my xls file. Instead, if i set it to let's say 15 minutes, i would probably lose the moment the shared variable changed value. Is there a way for me to achieve my desired functionality with functions from DSC or Report Generation Toolkit? Thanks in advance, Sabin

Hi Mike and thanks for the reply. Actually, my first idea was exactly this: in an event case structure, whenever my variable changed value, i would retain the relevant data in an array and then at the 12 hour period write all of it in a report. However, my boss deeemed it memory unefficient and compelled me to use only one function. Thus my predicament... If you have more advice on this new info, i would be grateful... Cheers, sabin

  • Reports in Shared Services 9.2.0.2

I would like to run a report from Shared Services 9.2.0.2 that shows all the users w/ access to our system and what level of access they have. We assign all of our users to groups and the groups are granted access. Our groups are created in the Native Directory and the users are in our NTLM directory. Is there a way to make this happen? I have not been successful in everything I've tried so far.
    Thanks.
    Terri T.

Ok just thought I'd check. That solution works fine for us but we use MSAD for external authentication. We use native groups for all our provisioning too.
Not sure why the report won't work with NTLM users.
Another solution, which is good because u get your data into excel, is to use the cssimportexport utility to export all the security. Then with some excel machinations you can relate the users to the groups to get the roles for each user. I have done that in the past to build a complete user list by application in excel. I had 50 groups with users and it took less than an hour to put it all together.
Maybe someone else can advise why the report isn't working for you..

  • Audit Reports in Shared Services

    Hi guys,
Appreciate if someone could help me with the following query.
I have enabled Auditing for a Planning Application from Administration-> Reporting -> Auditing (tab)
However, when I try to 'View Audit Report' in Shared Services for the same application, it says 'Auditing is Disabled and No Records Audited'. Is there something I'm missing out on?
Dear John, it would be great if you could provide your valuable insight on this.
    Thanks & Cheers,
    Sahil

1.Using Shared Services Administrator credentials, log in to the Shared Services Console.
    2.Select Administration, then Configure Auditing.
    3.On the Audit Configuration screen:
a.Select Enable Auditing to activate auditing. If this option is not selected, Shared Services does not support auditing at any level. By default, auditing is disabled.
b.Select Allow Global Settings Override to disable application group and application-level auditing. If this option is selected, application group and application-level task selections are discarded in favor of the global selections.
c.Optional: To remove old audit data from the system, in Purge Data Older than, set the number of days for retaining the audit data and click Purge.
d.From Select Tasks, select the tasks for which audit data is to be preserved. Tasks are categorized based on the applications registered with Shared Services.
    e.Click OK.
    cheers...!!!

  • Moving 11g BI Publisher Reports to Shared Folders in same instance.

    Hi ,
I have to move BI Publishers reports from MY Folders to the Shared Folders in the same BI Publisher instance.
I just wanted to know do we have to move Data Model associated with the Report as well?
As of now i have just moved the BIP Reports and they are working fine, but was unsure on this Data Model part.
Can someone throw light on whats the good practise related to moving Reports in BI Publisher.
    Thanks
    Ashish

    Ashish Gupta wrote:
Should i move the data model in the Reports Folder only, under Shared Folders?
just wanted to know the best practise as to how data model and reports are stored under Shared folders as in separate folders or everything in the same folder.Yes the best practice is to create a folder called BIP Reports(shared folder) -> under which you can create 2 folders as Data Model and Data Template
    >
Also how do i make sure that these Reports under Shared Folders are pointing to the Data Model in the Shared Folders and not to the Data Model of My Folders?
    Thanks
AshishTo make sure the data template/report is pointed to data model in shared folder go to the corresponding report and from right pane under the report you see options as open schedule jobs job history edit more
select edit -> opens a new window -> from top you see a magnifier icon click on that opens a new window now select the datamodel from shared folder for the corresponding report thats it.
    hope it helps
    Thanks,

  • Audit Reports from Shared Services

I am using HFM 11.1.1.2 and want to pull a Audit Report in shared services. My approach are as follows:
In Shared Services on Application Groups, I select my application and right click and select Audit Report. I get the following error:
Auditing is Disabled and No Records Audited.
How and where do I enable this?
    Thanks

You first have to enable Auditing globally in Shared Services. To do this, login to Shared Services, make sure you have the "Shared Services" node highlighted in the pane on the left-hand side and click Administration-->Configure Auditing.

  • We have requirement to share reports without shared folder...

    Hi to all,
we have requirement where we want End-user to share their build report in prod. enviorment with out having access to share folder!!
for e.g. if i am user xyz and you are user abc. if user xyz creates one report using answers and he can't save that report to shared directory, he can save that only in my folder.
and now he wants to share that report with user abc, is their anyway to enable these functionality?
    Thanks in advance!!!

OK, then you have to do this:
    1) Go to the Advance tab of the report. Click in the XML window, and press Cntrl-A then Cntrl-C.
    2) Paste the XML in an email and send it to the other user.
    3) The recipient then copies the XML to the clipboard.
    4) Log on to OBIEE and click on any Subject Area.
    5) Click on the Advance tab, delete the contents and paste the XML that was in the email.
    6) Click on the "Set XML" button.
There you go. The recipient can view the report exactly as it was built and save it to his "My Folders."

    Hello Chinasammy,
Report Painter allows you to create reports using data from SAP application components, which you can adapt to meet your individual requirements.
Many of your reporting requirements can already be met by using the standard reports provided by various SAP application components. If these SAP standard reports do not meet your reporting needs, Report Painter enables you to define your specific reports quickly and easily.
When executing a Report Painter report, it is displayed by the system in Report Writer format. You thus have access to the same functions as for Report Writer reports defined in the same way, and can combine Report Painter and Report Writer reports together in a report group.
Report Painter uses a graphical report structure, which forms the basis for your report definition and displays the rows and columns as they appear in the final report output.
To facilitate report definition, you can use many of the standard reporting objects provided by SAP (such as libraries, row/column models, and standard layouts) in your own specific reports. When you define a Report Painter report you can use groups (sets). You can also enter characteristic values directly.
    Advantages of Report Painter include:
    Flexible and simple report definition
    Report definition without using sets
Direct layout control: The rows and columns are displayed in the report definition as they appear in the final report output, making test runs unnecessary.
    =============================================
Below mentioned is the process for creating reports using Report Painter as a tool.
Selecting and maintaining a library for your report: As the transfer structure to Report Painter you use a report table, which is defaulted by SAP and can not be maintained. This table contains characteristics, key figures and predefined columns. In a library, you collect the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns from the report table, which you need for your Report Painter reports.
When you define a Report Painter report, you assign it to a library. Reports assigned to one library can only use the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for that library.
When you create or maintain a library, the Position field determines the sequence in which the characteristics, key figures or (predefined) key figures appear in the Report Painter selection lists when you define a report. This allows you to position the objects that you use regularly in your reports at the beginning of the selection lists. If you do not make an entry in the Position field, you will not be able to use this object in Report Painter reports.
You can use either the standard SAP libraries for your reports or define your own.
(ii) Selecting or maintaining a standard layout for your report: Standard layouts determine report layout features and the format of your report data.If the SAP standard layouts do not meet your reporting requirements, you can create a new  standard layout or change an existing one.
(iii) Defining row and column models: A model is a one-dimensional, predefined reporting structure that you can insert in either the rows or columns of your report. If you often use the same or similar row or column definitions in your reports, it is recommended that you create row or column models.
You must define the row and/or column models that you want to include in your report definition before you define the report.
You can also use the standard column models supplied by SAP.
(iv) Defining the report: Defining a Report Painter report involves the following steps.
    (a) Define the report columns: You define the report columns using the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for the library that the report uses. Alternatively, you can use a column model for column definition. Column models are predefined column structures which you insert into your entire column definition, instead of defining each individual column.
    (b) Define the report rows: You define the report rows using the characteristics selected for the library selected for the report.
Alternatively, you can use a row model for your row definition. Row models serve the same purpose as column models, but are used to define a report row.
Edit and format the report rows and columns in line with your requirements. (For example, you can hide rows or columns, define the column width or define colors for your report rows).
(iii)Define general data selection criteria for the selection of your report data: Selection criteria are the characteristics used to select data for the entire report. You cannot enter characteristics as data selection criteria if they are already being used in the report rows or columns.
(iv) Assigning the report to a report group: Once you have defined a report, you must assign it to a report group. A report group can contain one or more reports from the same library. However, reports that share the same data will select data more quickly and improve processing time.
Hopw this helps you. Please let me know if you need anything more and assign points.

  • How to upload a text file from a shared folder and provide an o/p

how to upload a text file from a shared folder and provide an o/p  containing the details in each order in the text file

    Hi,
Use <b>GUI_UPLOAD</b> to upload a text file from a shared folder.
Use <b>GUI_DOWNLOAD</b> to download data in a file on the presentation server or use <b>OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER</b> and <b>CLOSE DATASET</b> statements to download data to the application server.
Now, I hope the code for data fetching, if required, is already present in the report.
Reward points if the answer is helpful.

  • Crystal Report for Sales, Delivery and Payment.

    Hi Guys,
Need some expert advice over here. Currently, our sales team are using 3 separate report, one report on sales per month for each specific customers, one report on delivered amount per month for specific customers again and the last one report on payment received per month for specific customers as well.
We have the idea of joining this 3 report so that I can report on sales, delivery and payment all at once so that they can see the trend better. However, after trying for quite a few times, we fail to create a common joining between ORDR, ODLN and ORCT. Is there any possible way to work something out ?
I have thought of using subreport, but I just cant find the way to plug in the figure correctly.
    Need some advice over there.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,
    Alex

Based on what you have told me, then you should then join Sales Order, Delivery, Invoice and Incoming Payments into one.
The reason I say Invoice table also is because, you cannot directly link Delivery and Incoming Payments window.
Also you it is not enough that you link the ORDR, ODLN and ORCT, you will need to get the details from RDR1 and DLN1.
In SAP Business One, each line in SAP Business One can have a different Delivery documnet.
The TrgetEntry, TargetType will give you this information. For example, if a line for Sales Order has TargetType 15, then TrgetEntry will be the DocEntry in the ODLN. But if it TargetType is 13 it means the Sales order was converted directly to and Invoice and bypassed the creation of Delivery step, which is possible in SAP.
So here is how I think you will need to link Sales order and Delivery
    RDR1.TrgetEntry INNER JOIN DLN1.DocEntry AND
    RDR1.TargetType INNER JOIN DLN1.ObjType AND
    RDR1.LineNum INNER JOIN DLN1.BaseLine
Now this could get a little more complicated if you do partial deliveries. For example if a line in your Sales Order has say 10 items and 6 of them are delivered using Delivery Note 123 and the remaining are delivered using Delivery Note 124, then the join will give you 2 different lines.
So basically you will need to link the tables in this fashion
    ORDR <-> RDR1 <-> DLN1 <-> INV1 <-> RCT2 <-> ORCT
Unfortunately, this linking process can get complicated if you do not follow certain steps, like for example if you do not create a Delivery Note and converted your Sales order to Invoice. Then the link would be
    ORDR <-> RDR1 <-> INV1 <-> RCT2 <-> ORCT
    I hope I didn't confuse you.

  • Not able to see "Folder and Report Tasks" section in BI publisher

    Hi Expert,
I am trying to use BI publisher, after login as Administrator/Administrator, all I can see are two folders: My Folder and Shared Folder. I did not see anywhere I could create new report. Could someone help me?
    Thanks a lot.

You should have a group called 'XMLP_ADMIN' in your repository and administrator or the user you are using should be part of that group. Look into paint.rpd for all these.
