Object model has a Supp class that has a collection of SuppItem(s). I was allowing the Mapping Workbench to create the Java Source. I'm not to fond of that, but I thought it would be easiest to get things going.
The datamodel is similiar to the class model.
Thanks for the help,

UI Error 'Method clone not found in class java.lang.Class'
When attempting to view an application window in the User Interface error I receive the error 'Method clone not found in class java.lang.Class'. The window will run correctly when I execute the application and other objects on the window are displayed correctly in the UI editor.
Within the window class I have used the following line of code to clone a reference list of values that is loaded just once when the application starts up: -
dsDefaultComboBoxModel priorityComboBoxModel = (dsDefaultComboBoxModel) dsReferenceLuLists.priorityComboBoxModel.clone();
And then this line of code to create a combo box: -
dsGuiComboBoxRefelu priorityComboBox = new dsGuiComboBoxRefelu(priorityComboBoxModel,ReportWindowSql.priorityCodeBuffer);
And then later on the combo box is displayed.
detailsArea.add(priorityComboBox, new XYConstraints(250,10,dsGlobalVariables.gvFieldWidthLarge,-1));
'dsDefaultComboBoxModel' is defined as follows: -
public class dsDefaultComboBoxModel extends DefaultComboBoxModel implements Cloneable
public dsDefaultComboBoxModel()
public Object clone()
try
return super.clone();
catch ( CloneNotSupportedException e )
// Shouldn't happen.
throw new InternalError( e.toString() );
This error occurs using the latest v903, but was also present in previous versions of JDeveloper.
At the moment this means that I did to execute the window in order to see all of the GUI elements that are displayed. As on option I could use something other than the clone method, but it seems to be such a nice way of copying the static reference lists.
Thanks for any help.Hi Darren,
My guess is that since DefaultComboBoxModel doesn't implement Cloneable, you can't call super.clone(). Does your code compile?
Later.

I am geting this error when I enter the "java" command:
"Error: could not open `C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.0_01\lib\i386\jvm.cfg'"
I have configured the PATH variable (Windows 2000) and "javac" works. I cannot, however, get my programs to run because of the error every time I type "java". Also, I did not install my JDK / SDK to the directory in which the computer is looking for the "java" cammand (ie. it is not in 'Program Files'...). If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Try using the -cp switch on the command line. For example:java -cp . MyProgramIf this corrects the problem, you need to set the classpath variable
as well as the path.

Could not connect to remote service - java.lang.NullPointerException
Hi,
I'm struggling to get RMI to work on two servers. Locally my client and server work fine together although when I deploy I get a null pointer exception the first time I try and invoke a remote method. I've tried stopping the server app to see if it is actually connecting at I get a connection refused exception when its stopped so I'm assuming it must be connecting.

Using the classpath switch (as advised to an earlier topic message) doesn't work for me. Can you help?! Many thanks
NSolved this problem by deleting java.exe from C:\WINNT
N -
Particulars: New to Java, Windows 98, Java 1.4.0_01.
My first program has compiled no-problem. However, when i attempt to run the program i get the following messege in the command prompt.
Error: could not open 'C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.0_01\lib\i386\jvm.cfg'
Upon examination, my (jvm.cfg) is in a completely different directory. I don't know if i installed the Java SDK improperly, or if setting the classpath will help. I even uninstalled, then re-installed program. Also, i attempted to create a directory that matched that which is described in the error messege, (only to create a new "could not open" error).
Could you please help? Thank you in advance, Dan......When you install Java it creates 3 directory trees.
One, which starts at C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01, contains a copy of the JRE runtime (at C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\) and the additional program tools and librarys/jars that are needed to create and compile programs.
The second, which is at C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.0_01\, is a copy of the JRE runtime that was installed above.
(The third, Webstart, is in C:\Program Files\)
Because there are 2 JRE's, identical except for where they are, if you have one jvm.cfg you can copy it to the other location. The files are identical when installed. The 2 locations are:
C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\lib\i386\jvm.cfg
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.0_01\lib\i386\jvm.cfg
Give that a try...
That said, I've never heard of this. If you tried to install into a directory other than the default, I suggest that you use the defaults. If you used the defaults and are still having trouble, do a full removal using the Control Panel 'Add/Delete Programs' feature. Make sure that Java 2 Runtime, Java 2 SDK, and Java Webstart are removed. Then delete the 3 directory structures that match these and start over. -

<BODY>
<?php
require_once('lib/nusoap.php');
$soap = new SoapClient('https://testsoap.test.nl:446/Service1.asmx?wsdl');
try {
$result = $soap->testPhp();

When running this, im getting this error:
PHP Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string . on line 14.
And this is line 14 in my code:
echo "$result";
Can anyone help me with this issue?
ThanksWithout knowing what version of PHP you are using and also there does not seem to be an SAP angle, have you tried var_dump() instead of echo.
e.g. var_dump($result);

Error: "Could not find the main class: Files\NetBeans"
I am working on a WorldWind mapping application but I think this issue is more of a straight Java question. I was attempting to add a web service reference by means of the NetBeans IDE. The reference compiled as it should have but then the application would not run. I deleted the reference, commented out all the code that used the web reference, basically restored all the code to how it was before trying to add the web service. The applicaiton still will not run with the message that it can't find the main class. I do, however, get a clean build. What should I do to fix this?

thanks!Sounds like something (a .cmd file or .bat file, perhaps) is set up to launch NetBeans with a command line like this:
java -classpath ... c:\Program Files\NetBeans ...
So since the path has embedded space(s) in it, it thinks you are wanting to run a class named "Files\NetBeans", which does not exist.
You need someone there who knows what they are doing to look into it for you. -
Error: Could not find or load main class
Hello everyone!
I have decided to finally start learning Java and am currently, and slowly, making my way through the tutorials. I am only on chapter 2 in the class section. While reading I came uponJava Tutorials Sample Code and wanted to try and compile it in netbeans. This is the code that it contained:
class BicycleDemo {
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Create two different
// Bicycle objects
Bicycle bike1 = new Bicycle();
Bicycle bike2 = new Bicycle();
// Invoke methods on
// those objects
bike1.changeCadence(50);
bike1.speedUp(10);
bike1.changeGear(2);
bike1.printStates();
bike2.changeCadence(50);
bike2.speedUp(10);
bike2.changeGear(2);
bike2.changeCadence(40);
bike2.speedUp(10);
bike2.changeGear(3);
bike2.printStates();
I did the following in order:
1) New project
2) Select Java under Categories and Java Application under Projects
3) I type BicycleDemo in the Project Name Field and click finish
4) I delete all the template code and paste the above code into the field
5) I click run and get the following error:
run:
Error: Could not find or load main class bicycledemo.BicycleDemo
Java Result: 1
BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 0 seconds)
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!I have decided to finally start learning Java and am currently, and slowly, making my way through the tutorials. Thanks for posting ALL of the info - most posters don't do that and it makes it hard to help them.
Your exception shows it is looking for 'bicycledemo.BicycleDemo' so the 'BicycleDemo' class is expected to be in a package named 'bicycledemo'. The code you posted and the code at the link does NOT use a package statement.
When you create a new project in NetBeans it will AUTOMATICALLY add a package name to the start of a new class file. So, unknown to you, it created a package named 'bicycledemo' and put the class file in it.
In step #4 you deleted the template code (which had a 'package bicycledemo' statement in it) and replaced it with the tutorial code.
Likely you didn't notice the package statement in the template before you deleted the template code.
package bicycledemo
.Add that package statement as the first line of the class source code.
You should generally ALWAYS put your code in a package. For some reasons many of the tutorials do NOT do that. -
Eclipse give following error :could not find Java 2 runtime environment
When I try to start eclipse it is giving me following error could not find Java 2 runtime environment.It was working fine untill I installed a new verson of eclipse although I am not whethar that is the source of problem.
When i give java -version command in command prompt it shows
Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.4', but '1.6' is required.
Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
My java Home ,classpath , and path are all set as I say it was earliar woking fine.
Please Help.I know this is a relatively old post, but some people can stumble on this page when doing a search for this problem.
Anyway, I ran into this on my PC after I installed Sybase which had an older jre.
Solution:
1. Run regedit
2. Look for Java Runtime Environment
You may have to do multiple searches. Eventually you'll find one with the version number.
3. Modify the value and change it to the correct version number. (in your case, you would have changed it from 1.4 to 1.6).
This is much quicker than reinstalling Java every time installing something that uses an older version of Java hoses up the registry value.
