File content conversion 'lastFieldsOptional'

I am working on a File Sender content conversion--> flat file to XI.
it's fixed length field all the rows with same column.

I am sucessfully able to handle the file if i remove "**EOF*" from incoming file. But i get "lastfieldsOptional" error with "*EOF**"
There are parameters available to ignore Last field(last column) of a Row/Rocerdset
but how to ignore the last row of the file.
Plz suggest some parameter to ignore the last row/field of the file.

 I am trying to convert a text file to an XML using File Content Conversion in XI 3.0.
 The incoming text file gets picked up but no message is sent and hence no message is received in the monitor.I get the following log-
Success Channel FILE_SENDER_XML_1: Entire file content converted to XML format
Warning Channel FILE_SENDER_XML_1: Empty document found. Proceed without sending message
Success File "C:\xi_public\i033066\dme_in.txt" deleted after processing

If I don't give these parameters then channel will give me errors.I don't know what other parameter to give to create a file.

File content conversion in File-to-RFC without BPM

I am using FCC for file to RFc scenario.
My input record is in the following format:
Header record

Trailer record..
The parameters are used in File content conversion:
Recordset Name : Header,item
Recordset Structure: Header,1,item,*
key field name : data1
and in additional parameters:
Header.fieldNames            HI,GenDate,Ftype,Fname,Fdate
Header.keyFieldValue       Fname
Header.fieldFixedLengths 1,8,1,50,8
Header.endSeparator        nl
item.endSeparator             nl
item.fieldNames                  DATA1,DATA2,DATA3,DATA4

Can anyone check whether any parameters are left, b'cos the file is not being read with this settings. and in the C.C its just showing file processing successfully but not able to see the actual file.

Source Data Type will be as follows.

File Content Conversion. Default Value of beginSeparator

HI All
I have a scenario where i am using file Content Conversion to create a text file.
my structure is as following
MessageTypeName
FirstElement 1..1
SecondElement 1..1
Data 1..Unbounded
In the text file i just need the Content of Data to appear in each row.
So i gave the following CCP
SecondElement.fieldSeparator = 'nl'
SecondElement.endSeparator = 'nl'
But i am getting the first line as a blank line .
I do not need the first line as a blank line. Can someone suggest how to avoid the default blank first line.

Just check the below parameter's defined in the below example.
Below is the example when you have HEADER & ITEM structure.
FCC is case sensitive, give all the names in FCC same as your Data Type.
In Recordset Structure = Header,1,Item,*
Header.fieldFixedLengths = (field lengths) e.g. 1, 4, 7
Header.fixedLengthTooShortHandling=ignore
Header.endSeperator='nl'
Item.fieldFixedLengths = give the item field length as shown above
Item.endSeparator = 'nl'

Sender Adapter File Content Conversion

Can someone help me out here?
For some reasons, out of the fields declared, only 20 gets filled!
Scenario, I've configured the file sender adapter with file content conversion. It's picking up an fixed length ASCII file.
Here are the Content Converion Parameters:
Document Name: MT_Site
Recordset Name: Rootnode
Recordset Structure: Site,*
Recordset Sequence: Ascending
Site.fieldNames= Site_Number,Participant_Number,OPIS_Terminal,ntework_list,tax_code1,tax_code2,tax_code3,tax_code4,CFN_Product,CFN_Product_1,CFN_Product_2,CFN_Product_3,CFN_Product_4,CFN_Product_5,CFN_Product_6,CFN_Product_7,CFN_Product_8,CFN_Product_9,Name,Address,City,Province_state,Region,Filler
Site.fieldFixedLengths= 6,4,4,6,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,30,26,26,2,1,1

So only the first 20 fields gets filled!

check if the number of characters in the file matches the total in the content conversion for one record line.
if ur message type has three fields a1,b1,c1 of length 10,10,5 respectivvely and the same is maintained in CC, if u have the file data as 123456789abcdef the data for a1 will be 123456789a and for B1 it will be bcdef and no data for C.....hence this check

File Content Conversion CSV File

Hello All,
I have a CSV file in the below format.
a,b,c
And my content conversion works.
<1>a</1>
<2>b</2>
<3>c</3>
Sometimes I get the records in the file as
a,b,
My conversion is failing, I mean it give me file as
<1>a</1>
<2>b</2>
The last element <3></3> is not getting created.
I tried to use lastFieldsOptional its not working.
How can I achieve this.

my CSV file is like this a,b,c,d
my conversion works fine so the xml is after conversion

<4>d</4>
Now few rows in the file may come as a,b,c, there is no d value it is blank.
so I expect the conversion to be now
<1>a</1>
<2>b</2>
<3>c</3>
<4></4>
like this, but what I am getting now is after conversion...
<1>a</1>
<2>b</2>
<3>c</3>
tag <4></4> is not getting created and my Outbound expects the XML to be in that format, so for this I tried to use lastfieldsoptional so that empty <4></4> tag is created but no luck...
This is what I want to do..
In the process even though <4></4> is not created File Content Conversion is successful and so Adapter Monitoring is showing success and my mapping fails.

I am still trying to upload a flat text file to XI. Its a non separator file.
Here the error message from the XI adaper engine:

FIle Content Conversion Problem in IDOC-XI-File Scenario

I am doing IDOC-XI-FILE scenario.
I am facing one problem related to File Content Coversion.My requirement was to generate a dynamic file like %store_code%_%current_date%_sitemaster.xml , I have completed the dynamic generation successfully .
Now there is slight change in the requirement ,we have to suppress the current_date node of the xml content . i have tried to suppress the current_date using these DATE.fieldFixedLengths 0 , Date.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut , But I am unable to suppress it Can some body provide me the details on this .
The output xml version generated by Reciever file adapter is as below :

If u see my earlier reply, I mentioned that u can not suppress the field from the one node.i.e Form SITE_DATA data type u can not suppress the field called CURRENT_DATE.
My suggestion is that , modify the Data type in such a way that you will be having two nodes as I have mentioned earlier. Then use the Suppress Logic for the Current Date.
So it will look like this-

So ur SITE_DATA is not having a field called CURRENT_DATE. This field is in separate node (segment ) called CURR_DATE. Now u can use the Suppress Logic for the same like this.
CURR_DATE.fieldFixedLengths - 0
CURR_DATE.fixedLengthTooShortHanling - Cut
And in your Variable Substitution you can use the date from the other segment called CURR_DATE.

As per the client req I'm going with FCC. The file is picking fine with the FILE. But not picking with the FCC.
The parameters which I gave are as follows.
SOURCE I feel it is fine since file is picking fine and keeping the same for FCC also.

This was the configuration. But this is not working I monitored the Communication Channel and file is not reading and not getting deleting.

The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator ,
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator 'nl'
i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.

Hi Chirag,
I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.

Complex file content conversion in case of CSV file

Hi Friends,
What you see below is generated from Excel i.e excel file saved as CSV file. This file i need to map in XI.
Problem is i have to take only the data and not the header part.
for e.g in this particular line
Employee ID          :,,E00315
I need only E0315 and not the header value. Similarly i have to find some solution to map all the required data.
Please suggest me how to use file content conversion in such scenarios.
Solution is required on top priority. Points will be immdly rewarded.

In this CSV file, what all i need is the value E00315 after the label Employee ID. I used in FCC the parameters u asked me to do. Also in the Document Offset i gave value 3 so that the first three lines are ignored.

But still i am getting the error
Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 4 according to structure 'tims_header':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'tims_header.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!

I am facing a problem with file content conversion.
This is my sample file structure:
Header_Record (Occurance - 1)

Field2 in Header
Item(Occ-1 to n)

There is a key field 'Type' in all the above records with unique value in each record.
Now, I defined Field content conversion as follows:

What i expect out of my FCC is this (Sample output to show the hierarchy of field values):

But, I am getting this output (Hierarchy is missing. All the structures are in the same order without hierarchy):

05,222
10,333
15,444
20,555
Field values are being identified according to field content conversion, but, the hierarchy of the fields is missing.
Can you please tell me how should i change my FCC config?

You will always get a flat structure from FCC. If you want hierarchichal strucuture, you have to create a target and map. You will get only like -
Root
--Recordset
Group1
Fields
Grop2
Fields
Group3
Fields
VJ

Problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter

Hi All
I have a problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter.
This is my recordset structure: Header_Record,1,Claim_Record,*,Check_Rec,1
These are the content conversion parameters:
Header_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Header_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Claim_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Claim_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Check_Rec.fieldSeparator = ,
Check_Rec.endSeparator = 'nl'
In SXMB_MONI, i can see that the data is correctly extracted from proxy, and correctly mapped to receiver message, and i see a checkered flag (success).
But, Adapter status is RED with the following error message:
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter '1.fieldFixedLengths' or '1.fieldSeparator' is missing
In communication channel monitoring, i get the following error message:
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has not been correctly initialized and cannot process messages
What is going wrong here? Can anyone please tell me?

Error in Receiver File adapter using File content Conversion

Hi,
I am getting the following error in the receiver file adapter.
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'statement.fieldFixedLengths' or 'statement.fieldSeparator' is missing
I am using the below parameters for FCC:
Recordset Structure - statement
statement.endSeparator - 'nl'
statement.fieldSeparator - '0X09'
statement.fieldNames -xblnr,wrbtr,newbs,kostl,newko,prctr,xref1,rke_wwfud,rke_wwst3,blart,bukrs,bldate,budat,gjahr,monat,ctype,waers,bktxt,posnr,wbs_element,mwxkz,businessplace,businessplace,c_waers,c_wrbtr,g_ctype,g_waers,g_wrbtr,h_ctype,h_waers,h_wrbtr,trade_id,lob,sgtxt,zuonr,reason_rev,ldgrp,tcode,lifnr
ignoreRecordsetName - true
Please let me know where i am going wrong.

I feel the problem in your content conversion parameters is with
statement.fieldNames and ignoreRecordsetName
When you are confirguring receiver file adapter for file content conversion the above one is not required. Please refer below link for details on configuring content conversion in file adapter
