FP-2000 FP Read.vi problem : too much time to call
Hi,
Since I installed LabVIEW 8.0 and all the latest softwares for Real-Time targets, I have a problem with my FieldPoint FP-2000 when I try to read an I/O on the Fieldpoint :
On the project, when I launch my VI on my computer, the FP Read.vi or FP write.vi executes instantly, so no problem.
But if I launch the exactly same VI on the RT Target, it deploys correctly, but takes about 5-10 seconds to execute EACH call to the FP VIs. It means, if I want to read for example 10 inputs on the Fieldpoint, it will take more than 1 minute! The VI hangs until the FP read executes, but I don't have any error message.
I discovered that it was the DLL call that takes a lot of time to execute. If I launch a VI without a DLL call, it will execute instantly.
I verified, the softwares on my FieldPoint target are exactly the same that on my host PC...
I hope somebody can help me, I'm very annoyed !
Hi Thomas,
Yes it's only the first call that's take time. And yes I can call all my I/O after the boot, but it takes a lot of time (I have 34 I/O to call, with 5-10 seconds for each).
But for the moment it's the only workaround...

SMQ1 deletion problem too much time larger queue
Hi Experts
We have to delete Queues from SMQ1, the problem is the data volume is huge in queues and system is taking too much time to delete these queues.
To delete 122000 records it took 4 hours to delete the queue from SMQ1.
Problem is we have to delete total of 51,48,000 records in total and one queue has huge data that is 26,10,000.
Is there any solution to fasten the process of deletion or any work around SMQ1 to delete the queues faster.
We are deleting queues in live system I mean the production system is up and running.
Thanks
NavneetHi Navnet,
Use the report RSTRFCQDS to delete the particular queue of SMQ1.
The report should check the inconsistencies between the tables:
TRFCQOUT, ARFCSSTATE, QREFTID and ARFCSDATA, therefore it will take time.
The fastest way to delete them is: you use a sql tool to delete all the entries in TRFCQOUT, ARFCSSATE, QREFTID and ARFCSDATA. In this case, you also delete the entries in SM58 (tRFC).
See also SAP Note 760113.
Rgds,

Serial port vi taking too much time to communicate?
i am using visa vis for serial communication the read vi takes too much time to give me the bytes at serial port.what should i do to decrease the delay?
You wouldn't happen to be specifying a byte count to read or setting read termination when a specific character is read would you? If you are, if you don't have the right number of bytes in the serial buffer or if the termination character is not seen, then VISA read will wait for the time specifed by the VISA timeout value. To fix the first problem, use the VISA Bytes at Serial Port function to determine how many bytes to read. In the second case, use a VISA property node to set Message Based Settings:Termination Character Enable to false and Serial Settingserial End Mode for Reads to none.

Archive Delete job taking too much time - STXH Sequential Read
Hello,
We have been running Archive sessions in our production system in last couple of months. We use SARA and selecting the appropriate variants for WRITE, DELETE and STORAGE options.
Currently we use the Archive object FI_DOCUMNT and the write job is finished as per the normal time (5 hrs based on the selection criteria). After that normally the delete job is used to complete in 1hr or less than 2hrs always (in last 3 months).
But in last few days the delete job is taking too much to complete (around 8 - 10hrs) when I monitor the system found that the Sequential Read for table STXH is taking too much time to read and it seems this is the cause.
Could you please provide a solution for the same, so that the job will run faster as earlier.
Thanks for your time
ShylHi Juan,
After the statistics run the performance is quite good. Now the job getting finished as expected.
Thanks. Problem solved

Though we have a SEV-1 SR with oracle we have not been able to find much success.
We have an auto invoice program which runs many times in the day and its taking too much time since the begining . On troubleshooting we have found one query to be taking too much of the time and seek suggestion on how to tune it. I am attaching the explain plan for the for same. Its an update query. Please guide.

As per oracle , they had suggested multiple patches but that has not been helpful. Please suggest how do i tune this query. I dont have much clue of query tuning.

When i refresh a webi report the report is taken too much time to refresh(open).
In back end i have checked all the connections, contexts, cardinalities, joins, conditions...etc, in webi i have enabled the the check box 'query stripping'.
but still the report is taking too much time, i didn't identified the problem?
Please help me on this.
Thanks in advance..Hi Mark,

White MacBook takes too much time to boot up
Hi there.
I got the topcase(keyboard) of my MacBook repaired. (White MacBook 2006) and after that it takes nearly 7 up to 10 seconds after pressing the power button that I first see apple logo and it boots up.
I'm not sure but seems like that detecting the hardwares take too much time .
any solution?

OK, 32 seconds is not good. I don't think it has anything to do with a keyboard repair. You need to try a little maintenance: Reset Pram - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238

Yes PRAM was the the problem, I've already tried it from this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2303507&tstart=0

A.1.6 Connection Timeouts Through a Stateful Firewall Affect System Performance
Problem
To improve performance the mod_oc4j component in each Oracle HTTP Server process maintains open TCP connections to the AJP port within each OC4J instance it sends requests to.
In situations where a firewall exists between OHS and OC4J, packages sent via AJP are rejected if the connections can be idle for periods in excess of the inactivity timeout of stateful firewalls.
However, the AJP socket is not closed; as long as the socket remains open, the worker thread is tied to it and is never returned to the thread pool. OC4J will continue to create more threads, and will eventually exhaust system resources.
Solution
The OHS TCP connection must be kept "alive" to avoid firewall timeout issues. This can be accomplished using a combination of OC4J configuration parameters and Apache runtime properties.
Set the following parameters in the httpd.conf or mod_oc4j.conf configuration files. Note that the value of Oc4jConnTimeout sets the length of inactivity, in seconds, before the session is considered inactive.
Oc4jUserKeepalive on
Oc4jConnTimeout 12000 (or a similar value)
Also set the following AJP property at OC4J startup to enable OC4J to close AJP sockets in the event that a connection between OHS and OC4J is dropped due to a firewall timeout:
ajp.keepalive=true
For example:
java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar
Please tell me where or which file i should put the option
java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar ??????/ -

Taking too much time incollecting in business content activation
Hi all,
I am collecting business content object for activation. I have selected 0fiAA_cha object, while cllecting in the activation but it is taking too much time and then it asks for source
system authorisation and then throws error maximum run time exceded. i have selected data flow before there.
What can be the reason for it.
Please help..Hi ,
You should also always try and have the latest BI content patch installed but I don't think this is the problem. It seems that there
are alot of objects to collect. Under 'grouping' you can select the option 'only necessary objects', please check if you can
use this option to install the objects that you need from content.

BPC application is taking too much time to load
Hi experts!
I'm facing a very weird problem...
We've developed a BPC application (app name: USM).
This application is taking too much time to be loaded in some computers (around 8 minutes to load). Yes, in SOME computers.
There is around 100.000 registers in the database and most coming from material master data.
If I try to load this USM application in another computer, the process loads smoothly. The computer's hardware is all the same, the server is hyper estimated and everyone is in the same network.
I talked to infrastructure departament and we made several tests. We run BPC on the server (loaded quickly), on several computers (some loads quickly, others don't), used wireless and cable connection (got all the same result) and checked communication between BW and BPC but it is ok.
After all, I tried to load APSHEL application in the same enviroment and it loaded intantly. So, I guess it is something wrong with my application. But if was this, I suppose it should happen to all computers and not only with part of them.
Have anybody ever seen something like this?
Thank you in advance.

I would try making a couple of test:
1. I will install the client in a machine that is located in the same network segment, or try using a vpn that comunicates with the server bypassing all security devices, only to see if the network it's the problem.
2. Making a full optimize of one application to see if maybe the problem it's related to the segmentation of the cubes (i don't think that this is the problem but give it a try).
It is very wierd that in some computers happends and in others don't... also try to clean up the local cache of the applications in those computers that are giving to you bad performce and retry.
hope it helps, -
PRS600 ereader taking too much time to load all the books
Whenever I open My PRS600 from complete shutdown it takes too much time to load all the files which are present in Memory card. Is anyone else facing same issue?
Hello,
Recently, I have been having some serious issues when it comes to my Sony PRS-600. I am running on a Windows 7 64-bit, and an updated Reader Library 3.3
The issue comes when transferring books to the e-reader from the library, and from the e-reader to a collection. The problem is that the software becomes intolerably slow while it's processing the command. The Reader Library software window grays out, displays (Not Working) and if clicked on it, shades to a white color and displays either "cancel operation" or "wait until program responds". If I do close the operation, it appears as if the e-reader doesn't follow the operation and still displays "Do not disconnect". Since I do not see any other way to disconnect (other than the eject option), I remove the USB plug which causes a bit more issues with the reader (such as removing all of my collections, for example!).
But anyway, that's not the main issue here. The main issue is that the book transferring is really slow. I need to wait a couple of minutes (or even more) just for the software to process. Moving just 1 MB of data requires so much time as if it's 1 GB. Sometimes it's random and does it fast, and sometimes the application is better not to be dealt with at all while it's processing the command. If I would inspect My Computer, the simple loading of the e-reader storage icons and information would make the Windows Explorer to "crash" (e.g, close all windows and then reopen them). It just happens that in all randomness even the creation of a collection makes the software slow.
So to recap: the reader software is slow when adding and moving books.
I hope someone will help me resolve this annoyance.
Thank you,

IPad Air too much time to open a link from Mail
SInce the last update to iOS 8.02 my iPad Air takes too much time to open a web link from the Mail App, Safari open itself with a long delay.
furthermore The attachments into email are often not readable, have to reload the message to be able to open the attachment.
LAst but not least, I have too many messages not downloaded from the iMap server and I can read just the title of it.There's a large thread around about this Dolphin problem.
Disabling Nepomuk in System Settings has proved to be the
cure in many cases.
