HCM Reporting

Hi SAP Experts,
we use HCM Reports in Enterprise Portal. For the Reports we used until now the functionality of this tool was sufficient but now we have some new requirements.
We want to execute a report via HCM Reporting tool with a fix variant - with the standard settings we first get the selection view - this step should be prevented.
The behavior of the reports should be different in different cases. So Report A should show the selection views - Report B should give back the result list immediately .
So does anybody have a approaches or a solution?

Hi,
Design the views for your requirement using either the Webdynrpo for Java or ABAP.
Desgin the first view with for the selection views by using the Radio buttons UI elemnts and design the 2nd view in the same componenet by displaying that report in th table UI element.
Now map these Ivoew of this WD componenet to the EP Iview.

it is very urgent.
When our Users execute Reports via HCM Reports in Enterprise Portal 6.0 and exit them via the Menu Button (Menu->List->Exit) in the Report result they can access SAP Backend via Easy Access.
My Question: Could we find out which Users and at what time they had accessed the SAP Backend via this gap?

Extra Selection mask in HCM Reporting WebDynpro

Hi SAP Experts,
we integrate a new SAP Standard Report in our Report Scenario in Portal.But when we select a organizational unit in step 2 this selection seems to be ignored by the system. In the next step we get the standard sap report selection mask. When we type in the same organizational unit as we select before the report starts running.
Does anybody know why the system is gving this extra step? Does anybody know how to avoid this

Our problem was because of the different database. So we needed to use a second program (with PCH database) that is called by the portal and that executes the required report - when you want to use a variant both - report and program should use the same variant-name:
REPORT SECOND_PROGRAM MESSAGE-ID 5A NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING.
TABLES: objec.
PARAMETERS: VARIANTE     TYPE SELSET.
START-OF-SELECTION.
GET OBJEC.
END-OF-SELECTION.
SUBMIT REQUIRED_REPORT_NAME
         USING SELECTION-SET VARIANTE
          WITH PCHOBJID IN PCHOBJID.

SORT command in these standard HCM Reports

RHSEMI60, rhssref0, RHVOPOS0 and SAPLRHVL are all standard HR reports. They all initiate a binary search within the code without calling a SORT. (This has something to do with an Oracle upgrade)
Do any of you if this has been remediated by SAP yet?
Any input will be appreciated.

May be the Internal tables for which they are using Binary search are of type Sorted instead of Standard. In such case data will be obviously in sorted order.

BW reporting for HCM

Hi All,
we are planning to do HCM reporting in BW and i need the information for the below mentioned points and also if any documents or links are there please do send it to me and your help is highly awarded.
ECC 6.0 compatibility with BW 3.0B
Ø       Is BW 3.0B compatible with ECC 6.0, the platform used for HCM?
Ø       If so, what extractors, objects, etc. are available to support reporting in BW 3.0B?
Ø       What would the sizing requirements be for the current box to support existing BW functionality and new functionality for HCM reporting?
§                                                         BW version compatibility with ECC 6.0
Ø                                                       If 3.0B is not compatible with ECC 6.0, what is the next version of BW needed to support HCM reporting (3.5 or 2004s)?
Ø                                                       What extractors, objects, etc. are available to support reporting in the recommended version?
Ø                                                       What would the sizing requirements be to support the upgrade from BW 3.0B to either 3.5 or 2004staking into consideration the existing functionality in BW 3.0B and the new functionality for HCM reporting?

MSS BW Reporting [Beginner]

Hello all,
I'm looking into implementing BW (3.5) Reporting on our EP (7.0)'s MSS Business Package. And I don't have any idea on how to configure the MSS to show the reports in the reporting workset.
Any guides or how-to's that you can share for this? It would really help me a lot.. (Assuming I've already successfully deployed the MSS package on our EP)

Go to SA38
Run Program - FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES
Workset: Reports
Technical name: com.sap.pct.erp.mss.reports
Use
This workset contains a collection of reports that are relevant for a manager.
Features
The Reports workset contains the Report page with the following iViews:
Launchpad (com.sap.pct.erp.common.reportlaunchpadpcd)
This iView is part of the Business Package for Common Partsand is called using Delta Links. In the delta link, the following application parameters are defined:
○     role=MSS
○     instance=REP
○     display_external=X
Balanced Scorecard Elements (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.balanced_scorecard_elements)
Reports in the Launchpad
BI content includes Web templates that are used to display reports in the Launchpad. To add the Web templates to the
Launchpad as example entries, execute the program FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES with the MSS role and the REPinstance.
Irrespective of the logon language, the program adds example entries with descriptive texts in English. The example entries provide you with an indication of how you can use the Launchpad. In Customizing for the Launchpad, you can tailor the example entries to suit your requirements.

BW implementation for SAP HCM.

Dear Experts
I am on a new project where they need to do HR Data Migration from PeopleSoft (Legacy System) into SAP ECC. The Client wants me to implement SAP BW (New Implementation) doing the following Functional Areas for SAP HCM:
1. Personnel Administration
2. Learning Solution Online
3. Occupational Health & Safety
4. Leave
5. Time
6. Allowances
7. Position Management
8. Organizational Structures
9. Delegations
10. Competencies
11. Payroll
12. CATS
13. Business Intelligence
This is the scope of the project.
They were using just over 600 reports from the Legacy System.
Please let me know how long does it take developing an average of 25 Reports in each of the above mentioned areas (Area-wise) including ETL (Backend) Design in SAP BW? We are also looking at using Business Object Reporting Tools moving forwards.
What is the best order of implementation of above Functional Areas?
I am to start off with a SAP BW Solution Blueprint with As-Is, To-Be (Solution and Approach). Please let me know if there are better ideas.

You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.

SAP Query in MSS - Not Data

Hi Sap Experts,
we added a custom query as described step by step in MSS Business Package (HCM Reports).

After this steps the Query appears in the Reportlist and you can process it without any error message. But the result list does not contain any data.
When we test the query in backend there are data in the result list.
The Testuser has SAP ALL.
So I assume we have to do something else additionally to the steps described in MSS Business Package.
So what is the reason?

The Reason was the following:
We were using a query that is based on logical database PCH so the
reporting iView tries to fill in the objects the user has selected
in the iView into the fields planversion, object type and object id.
We had to use a different query to get the expected result:
Instead of using a PCH query and accessing Personnel Administration
data (infotyp 0001 for example) out of this PCH-query we now
use a query that is based on PNP/PNPCE.

Data source could not able select NOT ALLOWED DTP Direct Access

He Experts,
I have a Problem, I have searched in Fourms and Blogs also but I did get any solution .
I am developing HCM reports, as per my requirement extracting data through customized Function Module.ZGET_REQUI_DETAILS_NEW1.
I can find data in RSA3 and it is loaded sucessful in BI, this I was comformation with the monitor screen
all indicators are in Green Trafic signals.
then I came to PSA but I cann't see data here one pop up is comming Error & in help message no D0313
I found one thing the request which is in PSA come with GREEN (request updated to Target)
rest of all standard are in Red untill transfer to targets.
I found secound thing in the DATA SOURCE in Extraction Tab option Direct Access is selected with
Allowed, but I want to sent data to standard DSO.
that options are in disable mode even in edit selection.
Queires:
1. How to change the option NOT ALLOWED DTP Direct Access insted of Allowed in Data Source(ZREQUI_FM)
2. what is will do to see data in PSA.

Creating the dashboard which is mobile compatible is very much possible without using design studio. But if your looking for the futuristic then the answer is may be. SAP says that "Design Studio is the future of dashboarding for SAP". Please find the below links to get some fair idea on this.

I think because of this the field Sucessfull Candidate is not display in Data Sources.

Hi,
The transaction Code SE36 is where you can find all the Logical Database that exist in the SAP system. You can find the existing logical database that exist and can use which ever that suits your needs.
Logical Databases are mostly used in HR ABAP and in HCM Reports.

Als Vorgesetzter Stunden in Projekten umbuchen - Effizienteste Methode gesucht

Wir haben SAP Business ByDesign seit Januar im Einsatz als Ablösung unseres alten ERPs.
Neben der in der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr wirklich akzeptablen Performance entstehen allen Mitarbeitenden unseres Unternehmens deutliche Mehraufwände auf allen Ebenen. Nun gut, vielleicht wird By Design seine Vorzüge in Zukunft vermehrt zeigen, ich hoffe es zumindest; eine Chance will ich dem System gerne geben.
Nun zu meiner konkreten Frage:
Ende jeden Monats gilt es für die Vorgesetzten die Stunden auf den Projekten einzusehen und eine Bilanz zu ziehen. Jedes Mal ist es notwendig Stunden auf "nicht anrechenbar" zu setzen, diese innerhalb des Projekts umzubuchen und auch projektübergreifende Anpassungen vorzunehmen.
Bis jetzt wird dies folgendermassen gemacht, da uns kein effizienterer Weg bekannt ist:
Mit Hilfe von zwei selbst erstellten Berichten können die gebuchten Stunden und Budgetzahlen je Projekt und Mitarbeitenden eingesehen werden
Im WoC "Mein Verantwortungsbereich" und dann "Mitarbeiterservices stellvertretend aufrufen" die Stunden jedes einzelnen Mitarbeitenden abändern
(Die alternative über das WoC "Zeitverwaltung" ► "Mitarbeiter" ► "Mitarbeiterzeiten" ist aus unserer Sicht noch umständlicher)
Folgende Problematiken:
Stunden von Mitarbeitenden, die nicht im eigenen Verantwortungsbereich sind, aber auf diesem Projekt arbeiten können nicht angepasst werden bzw. müssten dem zuständigen Vorgesetzten gemeldet werden, was zu umständlich ist.
Stunden von externen Mitarbeitenden, die aber dem internen Vorgesetzten zugeordnet sind, können nicht angepasst werden und müssen genehmigt werden, obwohl keine Genehmigung gefordert wird.
Es muss auf Mitarbeitenden-Ebene umgebucht werden und nicht auf einer Projekt-Ebene, was in unserem Falle viel sinniger und effizienter wäre
Es muss immer wieder ein neuer Bericht erstellt werden um zu überprüfen, dass die umgebuchten Stunden zum gewünschten Resultat führen.
Wünschenswert unsererseits:
Umbuchungen auf Projektebene mit angezeigten Stunden aller Projektmitarbeitenden und auch die Möglichkeit die Stunden direkt in ein anderes Projekt (selber Projektleiter) zu übertragen; auch von externen Mitarbeitenden.
Auch wenn unsere Wunschlösung vielleicht nicht realisierbar ist im By Design so würde ich mich sehr über Vorschläge freuen, wie wir unser Anliegen bestmöglich lösen können?
Anmerkung: Die Ist-Arbeitszeit aller Mitarbeitenden ist durch diese Umbuchungen in keinster Weise betroffen.
Das ist ja das einzige, das den Mitarbeitenden im Endeffekt interessiert.

ByD development is evaluating a re-assignment of project expenses (time, expense reports, supplier invoices) to other projects (starting in a first step with customer projects with sales integration).
Because of revenue recognition purposes I have to point out that you cannot consider this as a commitment on the availability of future functionality.
The functionality would be offereed under "not invoiced time and expenses" in the project management work center.
Reassignment will not have an influence on source documents.
Example:
Employee 1 records 5 hours to project 1 (assigned to sales order item 1/10).
The 5 hours are re-assigned to project 2 (assigned to sales order item 2/30).
The original time recording will not be changed, i.e., if you need to evaluate time recording-related figures in some HCM report, the 5 hours would still appear with respect to project 1.
The Financials figures, however, would show a cancellation with respect to project 1 / sales order item 1/10 and the reassigned costs with respect to project 2 / sales order item 2/30.

ECC 6.0 HCM / Crystall Reports

Hello :
I would like to know if we can use CR2008 with HCM in some scenarious instead of Standard SQ01/SQ02/SQ03 and infosets queries.
If am aware that we need ODBC if we connect with Access or any other source.
How do we connect ECC 6.0 with Crystall reports.
Can some one provide me steps to connect Crystall reports to use tables in ECC 6 eg: any Tables in T OCE SE16 with PA0001 etc.

Not sure what all those acronyms are but possibly if they are SAP data sources then you should post your question to the Integration Kit forum here:

If not then typically if you use ODBC CR can report off the data sources, otherwise please explain what those mean?
