[help] How do i fix this error

Question

Type mismatch: cannot convert from element type Object to String
Im getting this error here;
for (String path : paths) //~~Right Here~~ {
    GlobalFile dir = new GlobalFile(path);
       if ((!dir.exists()) || (!dir.isDirectory()))
         continue;
       try
           URL url = new URL(dir.toURI().toURL().toString());
       catch (MalformedURLException e)
         String url;
         continue;
       String url;
       ScriptClassLoader loader = new ScriptClassLoader(url, ScriptClassLoader.class.getClassLoader());
       load(null, loader, scripts, dir);
return scripts;
   }I'd give more info but i don't know what else to add, ask and you shall receive.

paths.add(new Whatchamacallit());
paths.add(new SomethingElse());
So as far as it is concerned, it doesn't simply contain a bunch of String objects. If you know it contains Strings (because you put them there afterall but the compiler doesn't know that), then you'll have to iterate over it getting each item as an Object, and then cast it to String.
Or, change the design to use generics.
