Help with converting hex to date and time

Hi!
I am using snmp4j libraries to walk the mib tree. The system date is getting returned in 11 hexadecimal octets. I require help in converting it to date and time. I looked up the RFC convention of what each octets represent. Require help with conversion.
Eg: 07:db:06:0a:29:1d:00:2b:05:1e
Thanks,

Octets Contents Range
1-2 year 0..65536
3 month 1..12
4 day 1..31
5 hour 0..23
6 minutes 0..59
7 seconds 0..60
(use 60 for leap-second)
8 deci-seconds 0..9
9 direction from UTC '+' / '-'
10 hours from UTC 0..13
11 minutes from UTC 0..59
For example I just took the time an hour ago it came out as
07:db:06:13:12:11:1a:00:2b:05:1e
I have to convert this as a date long value to send it.
Do I have to write an utility of my own to do it?

  • Oracle SQL HELP with convert GMT to EST and DST and Date offset

Hi, I have a query that does not seem to work trying to convert a date field that is in GMT to est and using extract(timezone_hour FROM TO_TIMESTAMP_TZ as an offsetr
    HEre is my sql
    dtl.start_dt_gmt + (extract(timezone_hour FROM TO_TIMESTAMP_TZ( dtl.start_dt_gmt,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS TZH:TZM'))/24 ) START_DT_Local
If the date (dtl.start_dt_gmt) is may 1 and gmt starts at 04:00 AM , the extract offset produces -4
However, if the date (dtl.start_dt_gmt) is Feb 1 which begins at 05:00 AM GMT, the date offset still gives 04. What am i doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Saul

If your data is not associated with timezone then you'll have to use something like
case when dt between A and B then dt-1/24 else dt end; <-- This will give you 1 hour back of EDT. So, as far as concern at database level, it is nothing to do at db level, because db is used by application, so you need to code in the app.
Oracle never actually changes a TIMEZONE column value when you set your system to be on daylight savings time. There are several built-in DST DATE conversion functions for changing to daylight savings time:
    current_date
    current_timestamp
    localtimestamp
    dbtimezone
    sessiontimezone
    extract
    from_tz
    to_timestamp
    to_timestamp_tz
    to_yminterval tz_offset

  • Convert XML string into an abap format date and time

    Hi,
Does anyone know of a method or a function module in ABAP which converts XML string into an abap format date and time.
Here is a part of the xml that I want to convert.
    <ns2:EventDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45+10:00</ns2:EventDateTime>
    <ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45.987+10:00</ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>
Currently EventDateTime and EventMessageTransmissionDateTime are type XSDDATETIME_Z and these are converted to proper dates and times. We will be changing these fields to a STRING instead of XSDDATETIME_Z. The reason for this is to make the field more versatile. The customer would be receiving dates with Zulu (2009-09-23T12:00:00Z), with offsets (2009-09-23T12:00:00+10:00/-10:00) and just local timestamp (2009-09-23T12:00:00). With this, we need to make the date fields as string
to be able to accept the various date formats (esp. the local timestamp).
I am looking for a standard function module or method that will convert the xml string to a proper date and time abap format.
    Would appreciate anyone's help!
    Thanks.

  • Adjusting Date and Time with Video

Does anyone know of a way (or work-around) to change the date and time of video in Aperture?  If not in Aperture, perhaps in a different application.
    Thanks,
    Mac

And I was hoping that the new Aperture Version 3.2.2 would solve this problem, but no luck - it is still not possible.
I tried to use the commandline tool"exiftool" as a work-around, since the "Date" tag is part of the exif tags, but when I type "exiftool" in the Terminal window to see, if it would be possibe to edit the "Date" tag of a video, I see the following list of capabilities:

  • Can I get MJD (date and time) in LabVIEW 2012 SP1?

I need to time stamp my data before sending it to the file.  I have been doing this with the standard calendar date and time but MJD is what we prefer to use.  How can I get an MJD timestamp in LabVIEW 2012 SP1?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Brad_Henry,
The Format Date/Time String will return the day of the year when the %j argument is used, as per this help document:
LabVIEW Help: Format Codes for the Time Format String
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/glang/codes_for_time_format_str/
If you're looking for the actual MJD, I'm not aware of a built-in function that generates this so you'll probably need to create or find a function to calculate it manually.  This should pretty basic arithmetic, and it looks like people have already made a few public examples, the first two search results here look to be just about what you need:
    ni.com search:

  • Menu bar date and time is flashing and spotlight doesn't work

Help! My menu bar date and time in top right corner suddenly started flashing and Spotlight doesn't seem to work. It would normally appear just below the date and time. Is this a known issue? 10.4.7 on a 1 GHz G4 (eMac).
Any ideas - I tried restarting with no difference.

Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your Finder and Spotlight work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
Let us know and we'll troubleshoot this further.

  • Aperture 3.0.3 Adjust Date and Time

Working on a batch (~3K) scanned images that all need to be adjusted for date and time, the adjustments and so forth. All notes below is with Master images.
My observations so far with the unpredictable "Adjust Date and Time" function, "D&T" hereafter and some suggestions on improving Aperture.
    0. Always make sure that you start by "edit->deselect all" - even if nothing is selected.
APPLE: PLEASE MAKE IT SIMPLER TO SEE WHAT IS SELECTED (MASTERS, VERSIONS, etc).
    1. Always use US language selection - Language selection seems to matter for D&T. I am from Denmark, living in US but often switch between US and DK language (to get some special characters). In Denmark we use dd-mmm-yyyy and in use we use mmm-dd-yyyy. When i use the danish locale with the "D&T" function Aperture D&T is totally unpredictable - so stick with US.
APPLE: PLEASE DONT BE TOO SMART BUT USE THE D&T FORMAT LISTED IN THE D&T DIALOG BOX
    2. D&T time-shift does not work. Unfortunately this 'capability' cannot be disabled - Somehow Aperture check what the time was originally stamped on the image and use this for the new "D&T" - first i though that this was adjusting ~1 sec between images but it seems that Aperture do something like the following (sorry for my non-applescript'ish examples below)
newTime = "edit->adjust date and time"
    foreach image do
    set time to image.D&T.time
    try() change image.D&T.time newTime+image.D&T.time
    catch () newTime image.D&T.time
Not good as it time-shift from the original picture - if the time is good this is not a problem but if time (from the stamp) is off (like all of mine) most likely the time will get the date to wrap into the next day (or year if you got a bunch of images)..
APPLE: PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO DISABLE TIME-SHIFT in D&T
    3. Dont include DNG - Aperture cannot change the date for a dng and it seems to screw up the time-shift in "D&T" - i think the algorithm do something like
    newD&T = "edit->adjust date and time"
    for each image do
    set D&T to image.D&T
    try() change image.D&T to newD&T
    catch() newD&T = image.D&T
The problem seems to be that when Aperture work on a image it cannot change it use this images (that it cannot change) D&T for the next images D&T, i got a bunch (a ton actually) of examples
    1994
    1994
    2008.dng
    2008
When using a different language locale it gets even worse.
APPLE: PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE D&T COUNTERS WHEN WORKING ON A FORMAT NOT (WELL) SUPPORTED.
    4. Always check your trash for images - after i deleted projects (empty, no images) i have found images for those projects in the trash. Cannot explain why this is but i am happy that i checked the trash before emptying - put back works just fine.
I am currently using the following methodology for my scans.
    1. load in all pics, create albums for years and projects for months - e.g. 1993.0201 <text>, 1998.0327 <text> and sort scans to the correct albums and projects
    2. export each album as separate libraries, open library, fix D&Ts, places and faces. Exit, reopen and check trash for images that should not have been deleted. Clean trash, close.
    - For faces i add a few pics' of recognizable folks - open faces and select from the many suggestions aperture offers - very fast.
    3. Open or import library to master (my master got ~20K pics currently)
I am interested in learning if i am the 'only one' with Aperture D&T 'problems' or if i am using the tool incorrectly.
    Kenneth

    nathan:
What type of edit were you making. Have been trying to duplicate that and cannot. I've changed the date and selected the original file to be changed also. Then I edited the file by cropping, changing the exposure and shadows and saving. Both versions are still tiff files.
Now these are tiff files that I converted over from jpgs with Photoshop as my camera doesn't take tiffs. Don't know if that will make any difference.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Weird Date and Time warning?

Hi, I keep getting a prompt/warning window (?) that pops up at start up that says, "Your computer's clock is set to a date before March 21, 2001. This may cause some applications to behave erratically. Please use Date and Time preferences panel to set clock manually. For more info see Help..."
The date and time were wrong the first time, like year 2000 (can't remember the month and day) and I corrected it. After that, the date and time are correct but that prompt still comes up.
Is this something viral? How to fix? Thanks.

LOL!!! Of course the PRAM reset didn't really work--like 3X it didn't work. After basically wasting time with 2 more tech calls to Apple, I'm headed for the store to get the battery replaced. The next call had me fix the Disk Permissions via Disk Utility, why I don't know (they did need to be fixed according to the Utility). I'm really surprised at how little Apple's tech "experts" really know. I'll update on the battery change. Thanks.

  • Adjusting date and time does not work for pictures from one camera.

I have a set of pictures taken with a Casio EX-Z20 camera in my Aperture 2 library. Because the clock of this camera was off by a few hours I changed them all at once with the option "Adjust date and time...". This worked well and when I sorted the images from different cameras by date in Aperture they were in the order.
When exporting all the images as JPEG the images in the set from this camera was reset to it's original.
That was very strange, I decided to try and change the date of these images in the master files as well by checking the checkbox "Also change master files".
    When I change the date from 15-10-2008 18:34:44 to 16-10-2008 10:34:44 (+16 hours) the date of the image changes to 16-10-08 01:36:43 GMT+02.00 (+9 hours, 1 minute, 59 seconds).
    When I change the date from 16-10-08 01:36:43 to 16-10-2008 19:36:43 (+18 hours) it ends up as being 16-10-08 10:38:42 (+9 hours, 1 minute, 59 seconds)
    When I change the date from 16-10-08 10:38:42 to 16-10-08 10:48:42 (+10 minutes) it ends up as 16-10-08 01:50:49 GMT+02:00 (-8 hours, 47 minutes, 7 seconds)
I have worked around this problem by adding some hours to the desired time and eventually got it about right, but this is still a very annoying problem. Has anyone else encountered it or know of a way to avoid it?

I certainly have had issues regarding wrong dates, time stamping and DNG's in Aperture. There have been posts here from others as well with the same kind of date problems.
I have reported the bug to Apple and hope for a solution to the issue in a near future.

  • HT203483 Date and time issue in iPhone 5c

I have update with latest firmware but date and time proble not solved

    Hello komalsingh235,
If I understand correctly your phone is not automatically getting the correct date and time. Use these steps from the following article. If the troubleshooting does not correct it, then it also has a resource for you to get additional support:
iOS: Troubleshooting issues with date and time
If the option to enable date and time automatically is available, turn it on. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Ensure that your time zone is set up correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.
If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Ipod Touch shows two dates and times on the sleep screen/locked screen

First off i have the new ipod touch and i got it this christmas.since a couple weeks ago on the sleep screen/locked screen(the screen that appears when you hit the button on top of ipod) it shows the current date and time but in the background of that time it also sais 7:12 January 6 2010. It has said that for about two weeks. Also i noticed that when you slide the unlock bar over you can still see the slider in the background at the original position. One last thing has been happening with the volume when listening to music. When i try to turn it up i slide the volume button to the right to make it louder and when i let got it just slides back and does not get louder. What is going on.

I had the same problem with double image of date and time and also the unlock arrow. I found out that the problem was that I had, without knowing it, taken a snapshot of my wallpaper screen and saved it back to my saved photos. When I used that wallpaper image again, there was the dual image of time and date. All I had to do was change wallpaper! Good luck!

  • When I create a calendar, in iphoto 8, I had an information pane lower left corner with date and time of the picture. Can it possibly be that the iphoto developers forgot about that in iphoto 9? This was very helpful when placing images according to date.

Today I updated to the latest iphoto version. The update itself went smooth and nice as one is used to from Apple. But when I wanted to finish my already started calendar, I have encountered two problems. The first is that I can't view the aperture library anymore directly from iphoto. Instead I have to open the iphtoto library in aperture but then my calendar isn't there. So now I have to copy images back and forth. No problem.
However, the old iphoto had a small information area in the lower left corner which was very nice to place images on an exact date. This seems to be gone...?? Really? How am I supposed to sort images according to date and time when I have to back to the library view every time? That's not very convenient..Or am I missing something?
    Thanks for ANY help!
    Patrick

The first is that I can't view the aperture library anymore directly from iphoto.
THat is exceeding strange since iPhoto '08 could not open or share an Aperture library - that ability was first introduced in iPhoto '11 - with the latest version of iPhoto and or Aperture you can open the same library with either application - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5043
In the current version of iPhoto the photos are sorted by date in the film strip - I've not recently done a calendar so do not remember the specifics -
