My I phone 4 G home page i cons are twice the size as normal (mail, messages, ipod) etc.
Don't know how this happened and can't fix it help.

Double tap with THREE fingers to turn zoom off. Then go into: Settings>General>Accessibility and turn it off for good.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Every time I open Firefox or a new Firefox window, my home page opens but so does a second tab showing the LinkedIn login page. Don't know how this started happening or how to stop it.

Figured it out. There was code in the Preferences/home page field telling it to open my home page and that page at the same time in two tabs. Don't know how it happened, but is fixed now.

Yeah, I don't know why I can't find my posted problem of November 18, but it was similar, and I also figured out how to fix it. IF when you open Firefox to your homepage and MORE opens than IS your homepage, then go to tools, options, and check your homepage info. You will find the URLs to your homepage plus whatever windows are opening that you do NOT want. Delete everything but the homepage and close. I had at least 10 windows opening from a browsing session over a week ago every time I opened Firefox... aggravating!

My screen load times have slowed down to a crawl. I have to wait and wait for a page to load. (I know --dial -up) It used to be much faster a month ago before 5.0. Is it FireFox or do I look to Yahoo for the problem? I don't know how to sort it out.

I'm having the same problem. Dreamweaver is supper slow. Uploading and downloads from the server... any server I use two different servers. It times out all the time. Menus are slow too.
I'm on a MAC Pro, 6 gigs of ram no issues with anything else. I have talked to Apple they have checked everything for me. They say it's Dreamweaver. I've noticed the Dreamweaver is talking to the FTP even when I'm not doing anything.
I've tried cleaning out my MAC caches, turning off file check and check out. Still really slow. I've worked with Dreamweaver for 6 years never any issues like this before. 18 seconds to upload a 4 kb file. 11 seconds to download the same file.

would I be able to "upload" (not sure how else to say it) my existing folders and subfolders containing all my emails so that they are all available on my new IMAP service, while still being available on my Mac?
Not easily, no. There's no direct transfer option between POP and IMAP, especially across email providers. The best you could do would be to forward all of your emails to your new address, although it's not clear that you need to - dropping your sbcglobal.net account doesn't instantly render all your existing mail void - it'll still be in your Mail client, you can still read it, search it, etc., it just won't be on your provider's server.
I have toyed with the idea of getting a MobileMe account. Would that solve my issue/question above?
MobileMe would be viable, especially if you're interested in synching your various iOS devices. It's not free, of course, unlike Yahoo and Gmail, although you've already discounted them...
I have also toyed with purchasing my own URL, but it's hard to tell from the sites (1and1, Namecheap, etc.) if they come with IMAP email accounts included.
Some registrars offer email hosting bundles with a domain registration. This could be a good way to go. GoDaddy, for example, have a email hosting option for domains you register with them.

hello can i please get some help, my stepdad used to use my phone a while ago, i deleted his old account from my phone, last night out IMessages merged without us knowing how it happened, he is able to read any messages that are coming into my phone through IMessage and also i am able to read his and this is happen from two different phone, i dont know how to fix this or two separate the two accounts, is anyone able to help please

Settings>Messages Send and Receive should only have the phone number and addresses checked that you want reaching that individual devices If your step-dads number and email are checked just tap them it will remove the check.

Came home yesterday to find my time capsule has an orange light blinking and my wifi network is no longer working. Not sure how/why this happened and can't get it working. Do i just reset it and will this lose my backups? Or can I create a new wifi n/w?

I looked at the diagnostics screen (next to the blinking orange icon on the Airport Utility and it says there are four issues:
the software (currently V 7.6.1) has an update available. If I click update I get the error message "There was an error connecting to the update server. Check your network settings and try again". However, nothing's been changed settings-wise
The other 3 status issues are:
Internet Connection - but the router is working fine and I can connect to the router via wifi on my MacBook Pro
No DNS Servers - I have no idea what this means
Ethernet Unplugged - it's not and I also replaced the ethernet cable which has no effect
Do I just cut my losses and hit the reset button - if so will I need to back everything up again (i.e. I will no longer be able to access my backups) or do I just set up a new wifi network - again, will this impact on my backups?

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

I have updated to the latest OIS on my IPad but cannot install the update for ITunes. I get error messages that I must log on as administrator (don't know how) and I can't use my ITunes now. Help please

I have updated to the lastest OS on my IPad3. No problem there. Then found I could no longer access my Itunes as there was a message 'Cannot be used as it requires version 10.6.3 or later. Go to ... and download'. I have tried four times and it won't work. I get another message saying I must sign in as administrator or contact my system administrator. Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. iCloud is a mail system, it neither needs nor will use someone elses email transport.

TS3899 My ipood touch works fine when at home and on my own wi-fi network but when abroad and using wi-fi I can only receive emails but my ipod touch won't send my messages. I am not very techy but don't know how to resolve this problem. Any advice?

I am having problems sending emails when using my ipod touch with wi-fi abroad. When at home my ipod touch receives and I can send emails through my home wi-fi system but when away and logged into other wi-fi networkcan only receive emails and not send them. Internet access is fine when abroad.
I am assuming that this is to do with the outgoing server but this is only a guess!
I am not very techy so any ideas how to resolve this problem would be gratefully received.

Seems like the other networks are blocking you from sending emails.
Do yo have more that one email account on the iPod?
Have you tried sending from another account?

Latest Creative Cloud install stopped by Adobe Application Manager. Error message 82 says to close AAM. I don't know how to do that.

Thanks. I finally went to helpx.adobe.com and has a Chat with someone probably in subcontinental India. He had me go to the Activity Monitor and shut down a bunch of activities, after which the CC install worked. Now the log in screen asks for a redemption code, which I never got. Guess I'll have to return to India to get that done.

The only way you can restore icloud backup is by restoring icloud backup

Before you do that I would suggest to verify that app designers support that kind of data retreival, by visiting Whatsapp support forums and FAQ.

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.
