How can I get rid of promotional ads that are preventing me from expanding my email folders?

Today for the first time, I am getting two promotion ads that regularly change, on the left side of my screen when I am in email, right where my expanded folders normally appear. I tried "expand" and just get a tiny line at the top of these ads with one or two expanded folders named. How can I get rid of these promotion ads?

Nooooooo! lol... If I want to download again I will, I don't want an electronic trail. Plus when I have Ibooks open, sometimes I will accidently hit the item and it will immediatly try to download it. Try upgrading your Mac to the newest version of OS X Mavericks, and try upgrading your iPhone and iPad to the newest version of iOS 7.

The moment I open Firefox, a "Firefox" AD pops up. Anytime I navigate Facebook or it's apps a "Firefox" AD pops up! Anytime I go to any website, a "Firefox" AD pops up! They are genuine "Firefox" ADS, I've checked in your Troubleshoot guide! I can't do anything without these ads interrupting, slowing and stopping up my activity! I've also gone to the "Pop-Ups" page and made sure Firefox is not an "exception" to pop-ups!
Please remove them, it is harassment! I don't want anyone's ADS!

You cannot stop it from popping up.
it will continue every few minutes until its installed.

if that doesn't help, in Safari, throw away your history from the days since you had the issue. that may get rid of it. If it doesn't you may need to throw away your cookies (which isnt' any fun because it'll sign you out of any site you regularly sign into)

After having payed fo an account for one year for Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 i keep getting the message ,that I am using a trial version of Photoshop CC.
Lightroom on the other hand is not functioning in a trial version !

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.

I'm running OSX 10.6.8 and have Skype version 6.15. When I open Skype Home a very large square ad pops up with annoying "meet singles in your area" and so on. I've searched for tips and tricks on google to get rid of this advertising but it seems every fix is for windows. There are some recommendations to install an older version of Skype but someone else found out that Skype won't allow you to use older versions and forces you to update as soon as you launch it. I'm sure there is a crafty way to get rid of the advertising. Nothing in the Skype preferences is helpful (I tried preferences-privacy- and unchecked "allow Microsoft to use your Skype profile information to show you more relevant ads in this application") This was unsuccessful even after logging out-quitting- and restarting. I also went to "notifications" in the Skype preferences and tried to uncheck "display visual notifications" and that was also unsuccessful. Does anyone have a possible fix for this annoying advertising?

An uninvited McAfee message flashed up on my screen when I was on the net and I mistakenly clicked a button that installed the McAfee SiteAdvisor on my browser screen. I have tried to uninstall the McAfee program and to delete the files that McAfee has stored on my computer, but when I try to delete those files a box comes up saying that they cannot be deleted because they are either write protected or in use by another program.

I used to have McAfee site advisor on one machine last year. I do not remember major problems un-installing it presumably it uninstalled easily from the Windows XP control panel -> remove programs.
I also seem to recall it created a long list of files possibly totalling in the GB range of memory use, if I remember correctly I had no problems in removing them.
If you have McAfee security products on your computer you may need to be careful about what is uninstalled.

It is so compliv=cated. U had yo find in troubleshootung sime ways. Then i found so many files in the profile menu that have been filed .I had to open every one to choose the right one that never found Then nothing could be done No way to revert.I had decide to uninstall the firefox Then i ttried the restore system way and it worked.
In any case these add ons of persona are comletely silly.So many unfitting colors and no way to revert.Only to choose a different stupi d icon.Too silly for my sense of style
