How can I stop Crystal reports from locking tables in our SQL db? PLEASE HELP!!!

I really need help with this and so far I've had no luck finding a solution on Crystal's knowledge base, forums our even outside of this site.
I recently upgraded from crw8 to crw10 and of course after converting reports and placing them into production I now discovered that crw10 will place locks (blocking) on the SQL tables it is using.
Is there a setting in crystal so I can turn this off? Someone said I can use a statement like ... "with (nolock)" but I can't seem to figure out the correct syntax to use, I'm not even sure if this works since I can't find info on it. I desperately need help!!!
Example - if this is my select statement how would I add the "nolock" to it?
(DateTimeToDate (PDMTimeToDateTime ({call_req.open_date})) >= {?Starting Date}) AND (DateTimeToDate (PDMTimeToDateTime ({call_req.open_date})) <= {?End Date}) AND (if {?Select_Group} <> "ALL" then {ca_contact.last_name} = {?Select_Group} else if {?Select_Group} = "ALL" then true) AND {call_req.type} = {?Type}

no lock is used in the sql stored procedure. i believe you can look at your sql statement in the report and place the nolock(prior to the table name)
the only problem with this is you may get dirty data. most sql developers dont recommend it especially with real time data.

Paramerterized Interactive Reports - when running or clicking on a specific page how can I stop the report from rendering BEFORE the user enters parameters.

Order type -ALL- (select list)                GO (button)
When I come into this page - the report renders ALL the data because the SQL is as follows
AND ol.unit_selling_price <> 0
           AND(ordertype.transaction_type_id = :P1_TEXT OR :P1_TEXT IS NULL)
            ORDER BY   3
Its setup this way because I want all records returned if the user makes no selections BUT CLICKS the "GO" or "SEARCH" button.
I just don't all records rendered upon initial screen entry and without user having selection options....I.E initiate via a button.

Here is what you can do with out any hidden items.
on report condition select request = e1
and enter GO
Now when you hit the Go button which actually submits the page to perform the search right?
Now create a branch and redirect to same page and in REQUEST enter: GO (But make sure you are selecting when GO button clicked and make it first branch if you have any unconditional branches)
So the report will be seen by the user only when he hits the GO button from that screen.
Simple enough right?

In Logic:
Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

I need to display a dialog when a user attempts to close my app, giving them the option to close, minimize or cancel. How can I stop the form from closing after the user makes his selection? I have the folllowing code, but my form still closes after selecting an option:

PSE isn't importing photos off the internet, but it could be importing photos from your hard drive that are being placed there as you browse the internet.
It's likely that you've told PSE to import all new photos on your hard drive using the Watched Folders mechanism.
In the Organizer, go to File > Watch Folders...
See the list of folders PSE is currently watching.
Check the setting near the bottom of the dialog as to what PSE should do when it finds new images in the folders it is watching.
Make any necessary changes to have it do what you want it to do.

My start/stop scripts for Solaris looks like this.
Start:

Note: batch=yes means that the extra control window doesn't start (at least on Unix)
Stop:

Just remove the .sh and it'll work on your PC.
PS. The complete Solaris start command I use is:
