How many hours needed to charge the new iPad when connected to the wall outlet.

How many hours needed to charge the new iPad wifi 16 gb?
Yesterday it was my first time to charge and it takes around 8 hours (it was not on wifi& not on working any application)
when connected to the wall power outlet using the supplied charger, dock and the USB wire.
I,ll be waiting for urs reply.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. There is no requirement to charge for any predetermined amount of time. You can charge at any time, for any amount of time.

However long you like. There is no help or harm in charging it for a given amount of time.

  • Hi, I own a I phone 4, a ipad 1 and just purchased a ipad 3, I have 15g worth of icould data but my photostream doesn't stream all of my photos to my new ipad when connected to wifi????

Hi, I own a I phone 4, a ipad 1 and just purchased a ipad 3, I have 15g worth of icould data but my photostream doesn't stream all of my photos to my new ipad when connected to wifi???? It appears to be streaming photos from the last 10 or so days but no more? I have enough storage on my new ipad??

Photo Stream does not count towards your iCloud storage plan.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 Photos in the Photo Stream album. Only photos taken within the last thirty days and since Photo Stream was activated will be synced.

    Yes.

  • Why can't my original iPad running ios 5 charge when connected to a wall outlet?

Whenever I plug my iPad to charge, it says "Not Charging" even though it's connected to an outlet.

Are you using the charger that came with it? The iPad charger is a 10W charger. Many 'off the shelf' ones are only 5W. They will still charge the iPad, just slower, and trigger the 'not charging' words.
It's also possible that your USB cable is bad. Try swapping out another USB cable and see if the issue continues.
However, if you replicate the issue with multiple chargers, multiple USB cords and you still get 'not charging' when plugged into the wall then it's possible that the USB dock on your iPad itself is bad/going bad. If that's the case then you'll need to return the iPad to where you bought it or contact apple because if it's still under warranty they should fix/replace it.

  • Already setup iPad says setup as new iPad when connected to iTunes

When i connect my iPad to iTunes it gives me two options restore from a previous backup or set up as new iPad. i'm scared to click set up as new iPad as i don't want to loose all my things. It also does not give me the options of backing up either
    Thanks Michael.

When you connect to a computer for the first time those are the two options that iTunes will give you, one to restore to a backup that you already have on that computer (e.g. from a different device), the other option will leave the empty of content.
There are some steps on this page which should let you connect to that computer without loosing your content from your iPad : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. The page is specifically about iPhones, but it should work for iPads as well (I haven't needed to do it myself). If you haven't already done so then you could backup to the cloud as well (Settings > iCloud > Backup > Back Up Now), so that if the steps don't work you do have a backup - and, if you can, copy any important documents off the iPad e.g. email them to yourself if the app supports emailing.
Some of the steps on that page were written for a previous version of iTunes, step 5 is now File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, step 7 is File > Devices > Back Up, and similarly step 8 is File > Devices > Restore From Backup

  • HOW MANY HOURS DID YOU CHARGE YOUR iPHONE FOR THE 1ST TIME OUT OF THE BOX?

    As the title says.
And how soon does the battery start to finish when watching YouTube after a FULL CHARGE?
I can watch abt 3 or 4 videos (between 2 to 10 mins long each) + searching youtube for a minute or two before I notice the FULL BATTERY starts to drain :S
So in total lets say after 15 minutes my battery starts to go down.
Is that normal? or is something wrong with my battery?

I provide you a link yesterday with this and other information about the battery which answers this question so here it is again.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/
+Lithium-ion batteries pack in a higher power density than nickel-based batteries. This gives you a longer battery life in a lighter package, as lithium is the lightest metal. *You can also recharge a lithium-ion battery whenever convenient, without the full charge or discharge cycle necessary to keep nickel-based batteries at peak performance.*+
Charging an iPhone battery for 15 hours doesn't accomplish anything. After the battery reaches 80%, it reverts to a trickle charge for the remaining and when at 100%, charging stops. Charging can't go past 100%.

  • How many hours should i charge iPod touch for the first time?

    please help.

Charge as long as you want. If the battery indicator have a plug image then it's full otherwise you see a lightning image. Apple advices to discharge (use it till it's empty) once a month to prolong battery life.

  • How many hours does a brand new battery last after fully charged. I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.

How many hours does a brand new battery last after fully charged. I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.

clintonfrombirmingham is right, there is no way to exactly tell. But from personal experience, a new battery on a 2008 will last for about 2 1/2 hours with a higher screen brightness and doing something taxing to the battery (like gaming or running lots of 3D programs). But if you're just listening to music with the brightness all the way down, and no programs running, you could get up to 12 hours. So for average use, it should last you a whole business day (assuming you don't use it more than 30% 0f the time). Hope this kind of gives you more of an idea of what to expect:)

  • HT5423 How many hours is the charging time of the iPad 4th gen?

I am charging my ipad, & noticed that its been 9 hours & still its 90 percent. I just wanna know, how many hours is the charging time of an iPad before it gets 100% full? & is it normal that the charger become hot? Hope someone can answer this question. Thank u.

Chargers, and the unit being charged where the battery is located, will get warm during charging...charging does work on the battery.  If it is hot or too hot to handle then you need to decide if it is too uncomfortable and needs to be checked at the Apple store genius bar.
Nine hours is a long time to charge, but if you discharged all the way it can take 4-8 hours to fully charge.
If the charger is getting very hot and taking a long time to charge you may want to take it to the genius bar and have it checked by the techs.

  • How many hours do I have to charge my iphone 5 for the first time?

i just bought an iphone 5 and I want to know how many hours do i have to charge it in the first charge. Thanks you very much for all your answers.

You don't need to charge it unless you want to or it needs it.  You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries.  Normal mobile use will result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends.

  • Does anyone know the battery life (how many hours)of new ipod nano 7th gen while using bluetooth?

Hoping to find out the battery life of the new nano (7th generation) while using bluetooth.  Has anyone found out how many hours the new one gets with BT?
I have the 6th generation nano, and while using bluetooth it only makes about 3 hours before being fully drained.

About 9 hours continuous runtime with BT + music playback in this review at least - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/apple-ipod-nano-seventh-generatio n/P5

How many times can I attempt the passcode before I can't enter it any longer...it has been over 3 hours and it will not let me re-enter it?  My daughter forgot the new code she put in....

What dowes the screen say? If it just say disable and gives not time to retry then you have to restore the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
