How to print a report?
Hi there,
I've written a program written in ASP to publish report on the web. My report data comes from Oracle 8i database. My problem now is the user wants to print out the report in a nice format (without the buttons and etc, just the report content) like what is published on the web which for the time being i do not have a function to handle it....I do not know is there any function in ASP which can handle it or not? Can anybody tell me how to do the printing portion?

If You are using Client server application then to passing to Add all Print Parameter in the Host Command.
Means Print command in unix to Host(lp.............) and Other Parameter to file name of the report to print.
If You not Use Client Server Application the Also Passing a Host Command in Button-Pressed Event and Run. -

This is only a simple sales receipt application that uses dgv and textboxes to push its data to dataset to the crystal report, a simple one but there are instances that it is very slow.
But I'm having trouble implementing this using SSRS, since I'm only new to this one, wherein I created the report using report wizard, with two button options inside the form for print preview or direct print selection. Actually, it is very easy to implement
with print preview because it uses reportviewer. My problem is that how can I print the report directly without using a reportviewer?

It looks like that you wan to print Report's Instance and refering it as history report. If you want to print Instance of report (CR, Webi or DeskI), frist get the SI_ID, so that we can access that instance and then we have to use appropriate controller to print the report (instance)
for CR, use BOE/RAS SDK
for Webi and DeskI, use REBean SDK

I have three buttons, "Generate Report", "Generate PDF", "Print".
I want when the "Print" button was clicked, automaticaly the report is printed using default printer, like PrintToPrinter function, but in the client side.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You are using a very powerful tool – BI Publisher – why do you need Excel or Word for printing? Is there a special need only Excel or Word can provide?
One of the major advantages of using BI Publisher is that it's taking care of all these tedious tasks like reasonable page breaking, headers and footers, and also table headers.

MiguelBasically, you are going to have to communicate with Access via ActiveX and tell it to print the report for you. If you don't know the Access object model a good approach is to find an example on how to programatically run a report in some easy to read text language like VB. While you will not want to follow the exact program structure too closely, it will at least tell you what properties and methods you will need to use.

How to Print a report with 50 columns. Crystal Reports
Dear Experts,
I'm Using Crystal Reports 2008. I have a requirement that 50 columns should be placed in a Single Report with single line . But Page size should be A4 ( While Printing).
With Page Size A4 I'm able to place 5 columns.
Is there any possibility to acheave this no matter if number of opages increases
I Appreciate for the help in this regard.
But I need to display all the 50 fields (columns) in a single report.
I Achieved this by changing horizontal width to 70.
I can Place all the fields in one line.
But my concern is to print this report in A4 Paper I think its horizontal width will be 11. from crystal reports itself
I don't want to use cross tabs nor even use sql expression. Its just a simple display report for all the employees.
is there any simple way out to Achieve this by paging... or any other method.

I'm not a expert in crystal report, but I would like help you, i don't understand if must to show 50 diferrents fields in your report or same field through 50 columns ? for exemple:
first case: You ned diferents fields

In this case you must put the 50 fields in the report, just enough small to fit page
second case: You nedd the same field in 50 columns

inm this case i haven't idea how to make it (sorry)

How to print BIP reports from Oracle Forms?

I have a question in regards to printing BIP reports from Oracle Forms... We are aiming for a server installation of BIP with integration to Oracle Forms using SSO to handle security. We use Forms built-in web.show_document to render and view the report in PDF/Excel etc... We would like to by pass the viewing and print some of these reports directly to the printer.
Any idea/suggestions how we can go about this?

via HTTP it's not possible to send a report directly to the printer. You had to go via the Scheduler, which is able to do that. With the WebService API you can call a report with the Scheduler and Execute Immediate.
