Hi,
I downloaded the SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 1 at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=4f8f2f01-1ed7-4c4d-8f7b-3d47969e66ae&displaylang=en#filelist.
I put the mysql jdbc driver to tomcat before.
However, I write an application program running on console window.
Where should I put that msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar and msutil.jar on the windows 2000 server?
Also, how can I make the application program as a service running on windows 2000 server?
Thanks for help

View CLOB data in SQL Developer
Hi,
Can anyone let me know how to view CLOB data in SQL Developer 2.1.
I am having images stored in a column of datatype CLOB. How to view this image.
Database is 10.2.0.4.Since SQL Developer has no idea about the type of data stored in LOB columns, one cannot view that content in desired format.
You need a tool to extract the LOB data and render it accordingly.
BTW, do you mean BLOB here? -
Viewing CLOB data in sql developer
In SQL Developer 1.1, if CLOB data was returned from a query, you could place your mouse over the column and get most of it.
But in 1.2, all you get is "(CLOB) <some data> ...", and nothing else. Is there something I need to set?You should look in the SQL Developer forum. I think your question is answered here:
How to view the entire CLOB in results table?

How can I validate a date using sql
How can I validate a date using sql or pl/sql
select to_date('01/01/2009','mm/dd/yyyy') from dual this is a good date
but how can I check for a bad date
select to_date('0a/01/2009','mm/dd/yyyy') from dual
HowardWilliam Robertson wrote:
It'll be complicated in pure SQL, as you'll have to parse out day, month and year and then validate the day against the month and year bearing in mind the rules for leap years. It would be simpler to write a PL/SQL function and call that.Nah, not that complicated, you just need to generate a calender to validate against.

How to read zip file
Zip files are not files you read. They are compressed archives containing other files. There are many utilities available for iOS that will expand zip files into its component files. I believe Documents by Readdle will expand zip files.
However, if these zip files are attached to a pdf, I am unsure if Documents will do that. Reader and Acrobat will not open zip attachments on Macs and PCs as a security precaution. -

Release date for SQL Developer 1.1?
Is there a release date for SQL Developer 1.1? According to your "SQL Developer Statement of Direction", it is due some time in the second half of 2006, but I haven't seen any firm dates. Any update on this would be appreciated, as it is much anticipated.
When the time comes, will you provide us with release candidates or betas like you did for SQL Developer 1.0?
I so look forward to test-driving 1.1 out for a spin. :-)
Eagerly waiting,

Getting ORA-24801: error when reading a CLOB data using BufferReader
I am getting the "ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function", when reading a CLOB using a BufferedReader, i am using "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver" for creating a connection pool and using Oracle 9.2.0.7 with Weblogic 8.1 SP 5. My code looks like this,
oracle.sql.CLOB c_lob = null;
c_lob = ( oracle.sql.CLOB)stmt.getClob(7);
BufferedReader in1 = new BufferedReader(c_lob.getCharacterStream());
char buffer[] = new char[1];
int i;
while((i = in1.read(buffer)) != -1)
The error is coming at "in1.read(buffer)".Hi,
Your buffer size should be the clob size.
char[] buffer = new char[c_lob.getBufferSize()];
Also, set the value for i as -1.
You could see the sample on OTN for help:

How to read a byte data from maxdb data base
Dear All,
I have a issue in reading the data from database table.
I have a column named as templateData which contains the byte data (biometric template data, which comes from fingerprint device) which is DataType of LONG and CODE of BYTE.
I am not using the below to get the template data
Connection con = null;
Statement stmt = null;
ResultSet resultSet = null;
byte[] DbBioData = new byte[1024];
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
if(ctx == null)
throw new Exception("Boom - No Context");
DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup(db_drvstr);
con = ds.getConnection();
stmt = con.createStatement();
resultSet = stmt.executeQuery(db_query + " where SUBJECT_ID='"+ username +"'");
if(resultSet.next())
DbBioData = resultSet.getBytes(1);
_loc.infoT("verify", "verify::Got BioData From MAXDB" +DbBioData );
loc.infoT("verify", "verify::Query is: " +dbquery + " where SUBJECT_ID='"+ username +"'" );
But I am not getting the proper data, could anyone please tell me the way to read the biometric data from data base table.Hi Kishore,
is it me or is there no query definition in that code?
I see that you concatenate a "db_query" with a string to make up a WHERE clause, but the db_query is nowhere defined before.
So at least you should provide something like
stmt = con.createStatement("SELECT templateDate FROM <tablename> ");
before you do anything with the query.
Besides this: have you ever heard of SQL injections? Try to use BIND-variables instead of concatenating strings. Otherwise your application will spend much time just with parsing your queries...
Hmm... possibly the best thing you could do about this is to read the JAVA manual for MaxDB:
<a href="http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/ef/2de883d47a3840ac4ebb0b65a599e5/content.htm">Java Manual (SAP Library - Interfaces)</a>
Best regards,
Lars

How to read word document in pl/sql
How to read word document which is stored as BLOB column in table.
I want to read it word by word.Please explain me how to raed using DBMS_lob
package and substr,instr.You cannot. A Microsoft Word document is in a proprietary binary format. You cannot treat it as a text file and read "word-by-word" from it.
As for examples - refer to the [url http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/toc.htm]Oracle® Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference manual. It describes DBMS_LOB and its usage in detail.
