i am not able to get into my MacPro notebook.  person set up passwords i do not know????  he certainly did not use any password I use
therefore i cannot do much of anything.  I got Apple to call me but when she transferred me, call was lost and no one has called me back.

Did you purchase the Mac used? If so, the person should have erased the drive and reinstalled the original system and should have given you the install disks.

    Sounds like some needed System Fonts wre replaced by bad ones. Y also have Font Book in Applications for validating fonts & checking for duplicates.
    Required Fonts from 10.3, much the same in 10.4...

    then intall the Fonts what you need from your Install Disk.
    Or do a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

    Hi prime_anthony and thank you for asking. I do not think this is a Firefox limitation because I have been accessing my OWA too via Firefox on a Linux machine. I can login using my domain account and password without any problem and without using IE-Tab add-on.
    It probably depends on the version of the Outlook Web Access or the Exchange Server. Newer versions of these already have Firefox supported.

    The situation:
    I need to convert a folder of PDF's to PNG format.
    My process:
    I create an action by recording my "actions" based on one of the said PDF's.
    Problem:
    When batching and/or processing via a droplet (created from action I created from above), the output file name is ALWAYS the EXACT name of the file I used when I created my action!!! Why? I have tried everything... Why is it so hard for Photoshop to batch a file and use the file name of the current file being batched (and not the name of the original file that the action was created from)???
    Please help!
    I feel like such a dunce... I am sure the answer is staring me right in the face.

    Sorry for my delayed reply.
    I never touched the file name for the save as dialog box.
    I have use PS for many years, and I have never been able to get the file name to stay the same as the file being processed. :(
    My boss even, he is a beta tester of future versions of Adobe products, and he could not get it to work...
    It only worked for me/us when appending a digit to the end of the file name. Not an optimal solution, but it works. ;)

  • I have never been able to backup my iPhones to the iCloud, why?

    I had an iPhone 4 and now have an iPhone 4s updated to the latest iOS. To date I have never been able to back it up my iPhones to the iCloud. I have been thru all the iPads and now have the newest iPad and have never had problems backing that device up to the iCloud. They both share the same content, music, apps etc. My iPhone will get halfway and just stops saying it couldn't complete the back up, but gives no reason why...very frustrating especially for the high regards I have for the dependability of Apple products.  Guess I can't post pics, so here are the details..It gets to 1 minute remaining then stops. The message says " last back up could not be completed".. Last back up "never".  On the next screen it shows my iPhone and iPads combined storage of 2.2GB. My iCloud space say 2.7GB available of 5.0 on iCloud. Any ideas?

    What do you mean by this? Did you restore the phone from an iCloud backup? Did you configure your iCloud account on the replacement phone? Was the original backed up or synced to iCloud to begin with?

    I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

  • HT1551 I've set up our Apple TV and we used it with no issues for a time but after the first month we have never been able to use it.  Upon purchasing a movie it says that it is downloading the movie then shuts down.

    I have had our media company to see what the problem is a few times but with no success. Anyone able to assist or direct me so that I can once again use my Apple TV?

    I would grab a micro usb cable and restore in iTunes. Or you can take it in to a local Apple store/reseller.

    I have had my Kin TwoM for 2 weeks now and have never been able to connect via WIFI.  The phone will not detect my home router so I cannot connect that way.  In a WIFI hotspot I try and connect and it says cannot connect or no WIFI found (even though I know there is).  I know the WIFI works because everyone around me is using it.
    The one time (out of about 100) that the phone said it was actually connected, I tried both the browser and to sync my gmail and neither worked.  Both kept running the trying to connect bar and never connected.
    Not having a data plan and using WIFI was the major reason for getting this phone.  Any suggestions?

    Please make sure you have taken the following steps:
    1. From the Home screen, select Settings.
    2. Select Wireless Controls.
    3. Select WiFi.
    4. Select an available WiFi network.
    5. If prompted, enter the appropriate password then select connect.

    Sounds a bit odd to me.  Like Gene says, if you are signed in to the Desktop Application Manager, it should recognize you and the plan you are on, and let you install LR without asking for a serial number.  Try signing out of the Desktop Application Manager by clicking on the cog icon > Preferences > Account tab > sign out.  Then sign back in again.  This forces the Desktop Application Manager to scan your system (it normally only does so once every 24 hours looking for updates).
    If LR is still not inviting you to Install it, then sign in to your Adobe account .  See what it says under My Subscriptions. I don't have the Photography plan, so don't know what you should see, but I imagine it will be obvious.  Click on Manage and see if that makes sense.
    If still in trouble, I think you would do better starting a thread in the Creative Cloud forum that deals specifically with this sort of issue.  You'll also find some FAQ links on that page that will likely give you a clue as to what is going on.
    Bottom line is I have never been asked for a serial number installing LR from the CC Desktop Application Manager.

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

    OK, that makes the "fake Nokia" solution less likely.
    Have you had your current SIM for a long time? Some of those that are more than, say, 3 or 4 years old don't allow access to 3G services. Or the SIM could be defective anyway.
    I believe you said or implied that your phone was unlocked, so you need to see if other people who are already using 3G services with their SIM cards can also do so with your phone. You also need to try your SIM in their phones (if they are unlocked). That should point clearly to the culprit. If other people's SIMs work in your phone and your SIM doesn't in their's then your SIM needs replacing. OTOH, if other people's SIMs don't work in your phone and yours does in their phones, then your phone is the cause.
