You can use 3rd party software such as Print n Share if you have a PC or Printopia if you have a Mac.
Or you can check HPs site and see what they have available.

My customer has a HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 installed locally on Vista Business with driver 8.12.2008 He wants to share this for use on the XP PC but after installation on XP and trying to go into printer properties the message comes up "The HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 Series' printer driver is not installed on this computer. etc etc Do you want to install the driver now? It doesnt matter if you go through the installation process or not, when you try and print a test page you get "Test page failed to print. Would you like to troubleshoot etc"
I have tried installing the XP drivers locally AND on the Vista PC but with no luck. On the shared tab under "additional drivers" there are only Vista drivers listed.
    Any advice gratefully received.

Depending on the model of the unit it may not be wireless. if it says A809n then it is a wireless model, but the A809a model is not.  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01659070.pdf Here is the manual for that unit in case you need it.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 A809 printing line feed page after every job

I've searched and I have found this is a known issue - that there is supposed to be an update to fix this. I can't find this update anywhere for the HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809. It is connected to the computer via a USB cable. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, changing the print heads, doing diagnostics on it, ..., and I still get the line feed page printing after every print job. Help!

Hey there @tjkalb, I hope you are doing well
I read your post about how a "line feed" page prints after each print job from your Officejet 8000, running Windows 7. I have some steps and questions for you to try to get started. Afterwards please get back to me with the results and we will go from there if needed.
    1. Does the "line feed" page print after print jobs from all programs, or are you finding it prints when you print from somewhere specifically?
    2. Try a Clean Boot on your PC, restart the PC, and try printing from Notepad to see if the line feed prints.
    3. Print a Print Quality Page from the printer and examine it for any defects and to see if the line feed page still prints afterwards:
    source
    4. Click here and try download the "Updates" for this printer: HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer - A809a
    5. Create another User Account profile on your computer and try printing from there to see if the line feed page prints from another profile.

  • Network: limit printing access ( hp officejet pro 8000 )

    Hello!
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 connected to a LAN with approx. 100 PC's. It's not possible to attach it to my PC, because I want to share it and my PC is not running all the time.
Is there a possibility to restrict the access to the printer (MAC-filter, password) so that not everyone may print on my device? I have no access to the DHCP-Server or any other LAN facilities.
I already disabled WS Discover and WSD Print in the networking settings, but i would like to get some more security...
    Any suggestions would be appreciated
Edit: Some additional information about the current situation
    - Printer is accessed from 2 Win7-Notebooks and my Ubuntu 11.10 desktop
    - Printer is plugged to the LAN, has a fixed IP adress and is working correctly

  • Paper mismatch error with HP officejet pro 8000 (A809)

officejet pro 8000 A809 wireless -wrong size paper
running OSX 10.7.3 on a macbook pro 2.3GHz Intel i5
this printer has been running fine for a couple/three years now.. no problem when I got the new macbook last summer, or when i upgraded to Lion.
Now it has started getting confused as to what the paper size is - i get this error:
Paper Size Error: The paper size selected in the printer driver software does not match the paper size in the printer IN tray.
but only SOMETIMES. Like right now after screaming at it for an hour, unplugging and rebooting, etc., I sat down to write this and needed to get the exact wording for the error, so i told it to print. And it printed just fine. So I tried the next page I need to print, and I got the error again. I didn't even TOUCH the printer in between. The paper is letter size, it's always letter size. It's in landscape mode, but it has been for the whole morning, while I've been printing out certificates. Now it won't do it anymore. I am at a complete loss. I have rebooted my computer 3 times now, and unplugged the printer countless times. HELP!!!!!
It did this about 3 weeks ago and gave me fits for a couple days, and then magically started working fine again. I've deleted the USB and Bonjour versions of the printer from system prefs and re-added them. More than once. ;-)
    Any ideas?

Though a day late & dollar short, I too encountered this issue with Yosemite.
After removing the paper & restarting the printer, I determined the issue to be related to the document. The document I was printing was sent to me from an international corporation. Which I figure was using a non-US paper format or a larger page format for the document.
I tried to change those within the document & was unsuccessful.
I copied the content to a new document & it printed fine.

  • Printing to hp officejet pro 8000 wireless

After my 10-year-old DeskJet was incinerated by lightning, I purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless. Now I cannot print CD inserts; the driver says the printer is offline. However, I can then successfully print a Word document, for example, without making any changes.

    Hi there,
On the IOS system, if you have e-print installed you have two options for printing wirelessly - through e-Print or AirPrint.
To print from AirPrint (which comes pre-installed on apple devices) , you take the route that you have outlined - if no wireless printer is found then there has been a problem during setup that you should be able to fix with the help of the AirPrint troubleshhoting steps below:
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-topics/mobile-printing/mobile-print-help-iphone-ipad.html
If the e-Print app is installed you also have the option to print using the e-Print app. The route to printing here involves opening the appa nd selecting the content that you want to print. You'll still need to be able to find your wireless printer so if you have any issues, the troubleshooting guide below shoudl help:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809

after installing Snow Leopard I have been getting error messages saying the software for the printer was installed wrongly. I am then invited to authenticate, and it runs off and 'repairs permissions' then prints.. Doesn't say what permissions and the time taken is too short for it to be a full permissions repair.
The printer software, aside fom the initial install with Snow Leopard and the variousO.S. updates, was installed through the Software Update sub menu. I assume it is not a matter of  user privileges though I nearly always run in a non admin and authenticate. I have a few times had issues with apps and only got by them by installing in root, but that seems not what is involved as a set of 'permissions' was apparently being repaired.
Incidentally I have just been ploughing through an 11 page posting on HP printers where some seemeed more intent on propounding canaon law than helping, so don't bother with a recitation of  dogma such as on not using root.
I have just taken a download of the HP drivers from the Apple site so could delete the `hp drivers (If I can track them down) though I would like an opinion on the best way to then re install them. By the wy my OS is now 10.8.3

  • Printing with HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n Series Printer & Apple Air Print

  • Officejet Pro 8000 A809 - can I print just black and have empty color cartridge?

I saw in a previous post entitled "PSC 1410 - can I print just black and have empty color cartridge"
that the printer does color underprinting even when printing black and white, to prevent bleeding.
My question is, is this also true when selecting the grayscale printing option in the printer properties dialog box?
I installed the printer using an ethernet connection to a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop computer running Windows XP Professional

Yes you will still need the color cartridge.  The printer uses what is called under printing, it still uses some of the color cartridge's ink in this process, even when printing in just black, the reason is to stop the black from "bleeding"

  • Booklet printing with HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809n

Can any one help with booklet printing? I have looked at other posts and none seem to quite cover my problem.
I want to print from Microsoft Office Publisher 2003, and have a PC running Windows XP.
The booklet needs printing on A4 (297 x 210mm) paper landscape format with 2 pages (A5) per side.
What prints out is portrait with 4 pages per sheet (A6 size) with the printing on the reverse side inverted.
I've tried all combinations of landscape and portrait etc. and nothing works. As I will need to do these booklets quite often in future I would like to sort it asap.
    Thanks for any help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 continues to disconnect my wireless internet connection

    My router is a Netgear WNDR3400 v2
My Desktop is running Windows XP Pro
My laptop is running Windows 7 Home
Ever since I turned on the wireless function of the printer, I intermittently lose my internet connection, both wired(ethernet) and wireless.  Do I need to change the IP Address Configuration to Manual IP and enter a static address like 192.168.1.50?
The printer works fine when connected, but, I can't figure out why I have always reboot the router to get reconnected.
    I would appreciate any help

Hi Ciara, I had to remove one of the printheads on the right side in order to clean it manualy. After running 2 cycles of printhead cleaning, the print quality diagnostic page was still showing streaks.....in fact, the streaks were getting worse. The carriage wouldn't move the way it was supposed to (according to the manual) so I had to access them from the right side. This is probably when the belt broke. I found the other half of the belt. My brother-in-law told me that the hook and belt assembly are there to hold up the wires while the carriage moves. I can see now how the wires cause the carriage not to move. My printer needs a new belt for this assembly, and/or I need a photo as to how the assembly is supposed to look when the belt is intact. I might be able to rig up something with a twist-tie or some other strap, but I need to see how to wrap it around the wires and hook so that the hook moves freely, holding up the wires so that they don't catch on the back of the carriage when it starts to move toward the left.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000-A809 Wireless C9297A- Hardware Question

I removed cyan/magenta printhead yesterday to manually clean printheads.  Today printed Self-Test-diagnostic page, then attempted to print Print Quality Diagnostic page, and the paper jammed. When I opened up the top, the printhead assembly was stopped slightly to the right of center.  Next to it is an approx 3-1/2" slender metal bar attached to somewhere in the front of printer; bar has hook  on unattached end that goes through a small slot in a 2" x 1/4"  piece of black rubber with ridges on it. I have a photo.....
My question is, is the rubber thing a broken belt, or is the hook thing supposed to attach to something, all of the above or none of the above; and can this be repaired at relatively low cost, like $50-75 max ?? thanks, Debwillard

  • "media jam" message with HP officejet pro 8000 A809

The printer has been sitting for 3 weeks while we were on vacation. I tried to print something and get a "media jam" error message in the computer printer's status box. Also, the yellow ink is low but I don't think this is the problem.  How do I find the jam?
    New message is

Where is cartridge cradle and how do I get to it?
