Even so, there is no way to "save" a file anyway. The only way to keep it is to keep the email with it attached. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe there is a way to add a video this way into the Videos app.

Something is wrong with my Adobe program. If I open a .pdf attachment to an email it open fine , but if I try to print it it instead directs me to save it byut when it saves it saves it in some kind of photon format that my computer does not recognize.
When you go to print, look for the option PRINT TO FILE (it might be on that screen, or you might have to click Advanced or something else). Turn it off.

For example, if I receive an email with "photo 1" attached and then a different email with "photo 2" attached, both emails will display whichever photo I view first. If I reboot and view the other photo, then I can see it properly, but both emails will then show that photo. This is happening on my iPhone and iPad 2. I've talked to one other person who has a similar issue on their iPad 2. Any idea what is happening and how I can fix this? Thank you.

I am new to Mac. I have received an email with an attachment in "Pages." How can I save it in Microsoft Word? Help!
I don't think Word can open docs created in Pages. Either buy Pages or contact the person who sent this to you and have them save the document in a compatible format for Word.... which entails them opening the document in question and clicking File/Export and picking Word from the format dropdown in the Pages program.

Why can I not attach a document to an email? Every time I want to send an email with a document attached to it, an error notice pops out. It tells me that the file is being used even when iall other programs are closed. How can I fix this issue?
Thanks Jeff, I was not aware that a template could be multi-page. (All the existing templates were 1 page)
But it worked, saving me some steps. When I was finished I renamed the document, and locked it.
Then tried to save it but could not because it was locked. I closed it, went to my Spread Sheet Folder ,
to find it, it was not there. The Finder could not find it either.
So I start over again.
I opened up Numbers and it showed my personal Numbers template folder, it contained both my new
original 4 page template and the vanished saved document!
I tried to delete the template containing these document data and could not - I had to go to the Library/Application Support/Numbers to physically remove it from this folder. Then I started over again. I Finally found out how to make it work: I can now "save as", and then lock, and it will go to place where I want it to be saved and locked.
The secret is: Click on the document title in the menu bar, and it opens up "Save as...", which works the same as in OS 10.4.11, and you can pick the place you want for saving. Once done that, you can then lock the document in the same pull down menu, and then close it.
I also found later that I can delete a template from its folder, by letting Numbers open the templates,
clicking on the one I want to remove, then go to the "Numbers Menu/File/Move to...", select "Desktop"
and from there the selected template can then be thrown into the Trash from there.
It appears now that the real fault of the Numbers software is that the "Save as" command is not available in the "Edit" or "File" pull-down menus, but hidden behind the title of the document. -
I have received an Email with an attachment(IMG. 0157.Mov)that loads but then becomes a circle with a question mark. What to do?
Assuming it's from a trusted source it's probably a video format that your system doesn't support.
If it will load in QuickTime Player, do a Get Info (⌘ i) to see what the specific format is. The .mov is a generic suffix a dozens or more video formats, the Get Info will give you the details.

Can I get Quick time video on iPad 2? Specifically, when I receive an email with quicktime on it, it will not play on the iPad.
Hello. I have AV player hd. When I touch and hold the Quicktime icon that is in a received mail message, a prompt comes up "Open in AVPlayerHD". I click on that and a black screen opens up with the following on it:
1--A red line at the top with a short white slider button on the right hand side. There is a time listed at each end of the red line that says 00:00
2--On the left hand side of the screen, near the middle, there are 4 icons, a colored 'x', a dialogue icon, a circular arrow and an 'i' in a circle.
3--On the right hand side there is a + and a - sign with '1.00x' in the middle of the two.
4--At the bottom of the black screen is a play icon plus forward and fast forward icons.
When I press the play icon it changes to a stop icon.
So, even though I have AV player I cannot play this Quicktime slideshow.

My provider has tried to help but unable, they stated it is the problem with Firefox. I have updated Adobe reader several times with no luck. All of my working friends are able to download and read the same attachments but not me. I am the only one with Firefox, so I can say it is Firefox that causing the problem. HELP

Please help, I'm unable to send an email with a pdf attachment
We have Windows 8 Pro on the pc, I have been trying to send a pdf document that my husband needs to his work and no matter how I try to send it (either from reader or directly from my email with the attachment it just will not send. Can anyone please help?
No worries. But it is strange that you cannot even send email with a PDF attachment from Microsoft Mail. At this point, no PDF viewers (e.g. Microsoft Reader, Adobe Reader Touch) are involved because you are not viewing PDF files.
Instead of saying "It won't send", you need to describe exactly what you see on the screen for every step. Where does the problem start?
Step 1: Attaching a PDF file to new email in Microsoft Mail
Are you able to find the PDF file and attach it to new email?
Step 2: Sending email with a PDF attachment
What happens when you click the Send button? Does it hang forever? Does it show an error message? Could you confirm that you can send email with other type of attachments (e.g. text file, Word file) from Microsoft Mail from the same PC?
You can provide the details to Microsoft for troubleshooting.
Alternatively, you can try to send email with the PDF attachment from other accounts like Gmail (Google Mail) or Yahoo Mail via the web browser (Internet Explorer) interface.
Sometimes, rebooting your system solves "mysterious" problems, too.

attempted to mail an email with a large attachment file. One of the addresses was bad. When my Outlook is running, the Mac tries to send it and shows the progress. However, when I look in my Outbox the files are not there. It does show up in the Outbox progress section but I can not delete it when it is there.
Where do these files reside?
Is there a hidden Outbox??

You may want to refer to the help section of ePrintCenter.com here about attachments. In general though, Excel documents will have difficulty if they have complex variables in the document, such as pivot tables, macros, etc.

I have an iPhone4. I thought it came with the QuickTime application but cannot find it currently installed in my phone. I received an email with an embedded QuickTime song how can I bypass the email and save the music to my device? There is no difficulty accessing or playing the music.
Thanks Michael, this truth gradually became clear to me as I experimented.
Here's my workaround: Label the audio track something other than music and it will sync. It this case I called it a podcast and I could transfer the audio.
I will be provideing feedback to Apple but I am sure it's something they must be working on.
At the moment the only way to send an audio track labeled MUSIC to your iCloud enabled iPhone is to drag it into iTunes, upload it to the cloud, put it in a playlist, sync the iPhone then go to that synced playlist and re-download the track. Cumbersome doesn't quite capture it. Facepalm gets closer.
Looking forward to seeing iCloud mature. -
