I want the tabs in the title bar on FF6.

In FF 4, 5, and 6, until today, the tabs were in the title bar where I want them to be. Now they are below the title bar. How do I get them back into the title bar? In about:config, browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar; true.

Near the right-end of the address bar is a white star which can be difficult to see, but look closely. When you wish to bookmark a shortcut to the toolbar, double click the star. A window will open with the name of the webpage. Under that is the folder box which will probably read 'Unsorted Bookmarks'. Click the drop down arrow and change it to 'Bookmarks Toolbar' then click done.
I have several folders on my toolbar such as Music, Mail, etc. in which I add multiple websites. If you wish to add a folder, click the second drop down arrow next to 'Bookmark Toolbar' and click 'New Folder' and give it a name.
To add a bookmark to a folder, again double click the star, make sure you are in Bookmark Toolbar and click one of the two drop down arrows to find the name of the folder.
For other bookmarks use Bookmark Menu. Whatever is added here can be accessed by Bookmarks on the Menu Bar. If your Menu Bar with Bookmark, File, View, etc. is not visible, click the Alt key and they will become visible. To keep the Menu Bar, click View, Toolbars and check Menu Bar.

I want my modify the 29.0.1 version of Firefox to be more like it was i.e. tabs on bottom, text for the icons, and to be able to move the address bar to a more convenient place.

Changing to Classic still gives no option to put tabs on bottom even thru config toggling to false in 'browser.tabs.onTop' over the years Firefox keeps changing the tabs position and I have to keep putting it back and now they leave the option out to change the Tabs to the bottom...some people think what they like is best and then will not provide you with any freedom of choice..please fix this problem Firefox!!

Removing the minimize button from Title bar...

I have created an desktop application using swing. I dont need minimized button on title bar of the main window. I searched a lot but could not find a solution. Can I get some useful links.

Actually I want if the application is minimized, its state should not changed to iconified but it simple because hidden. And using the tray icon's option if application is open, it simple make the application visible. I did not want the following case which is happening right now.
Case:
1. I Minimized the application
2. My application state becomes the iconified and it becomes hidden (As I have implemented the windowlistener)
3. I used trayicon's Open option (it simply visible the application)
4. Application becomes visible, but it is in iconified state. Because previously its state has been changed due to minimized button.I want whenever the Open option of tray icon is used, application must be visible in Maximized state. That why I also did on action listener of Open option

How to change the color of a title bar

I try to change the color from my title bars, but I fail.
I tried to change the activeCaption value to an other colour, but that didn�t work. Currently I use a own LAF and set it with UIManager.setLookAndFeel("dpg.beans.GuiWindowsLookAndFeel");

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

Is it possible to have the menu bar and the tabs on the same level?

Just downloaded Firefox 4 and I've started to get used to tabs being above the address bar (since it fits the theme so well), but I'm not used to the loss of the menu bar. When I bring the menu bar back, however, it creates a whole new level instead of being on the same level as the tabs like the Firefox button is. I'm just wondering if there's a way to make the menu bar and the tabs on the same level.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

Why is the option to put the tabs below the task bar not available anymore? Very very very annoying!

I read some posts about it and can't beleive that the developper's opion should take over the user's preferences. That's def. the wrong direction. Let us decide what we think it's best.

You can look at the Tabs On Bottom or the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some lost functionality.

You can also move the tabs to the lower position just above the browsing area without using an extension with code in userChrome.css as basically you only need to give the Tab bar a higher -moz-box-ordinal-group value (most toolbars have a default -moz-box-ordinal-group:1 to show them in DOM order).

Why did 29 blend in the tabs with the header both in blue giving me this large ugly band of crap?

Why do you people think it's okay to change the looks and location of important stuff as you like without giving your customers notice or the option to keep their old look and layout? I just updated to 29 because in 28 when i click on a link in my pop 3 mail with Firefox as my default browser, the link stopped coming up in Firefox. But when I installed 29, it came with a couple nasty looking changes that I could not do anything about to get rid of except reinstall 28 and I guess NEVER UPDATE FIREFOX AGAIN to avoid this crap! DO I looked for "themes" and just saw more crap. ALL I want is the default one back. SO IF YOUR'E GOING go to the OPERA MODEL now for updates and start changing everything every update, PLEASE be AT LEAST courteous enough to warn us and provide THE OPTION to retain the look and feel of our last installation! Duh!

I happened to like the old look and hate that giant blue band I got in 29 blending in the tabs with the header.I QUIT USING OPERA years ago and switched to Firefox because of crap like this. Every update The jerks kept changing things moving them. so I only updated and update now when absolutely necessary for the browser to keep functioning and it was a frigging nightmare every time i updated opera. Things always moved all over the place, everything switched colors, location or went when I was perfectly happy with what I had, without ever giving me an option to opt out or change back. It used to take me hours after an update to find everything and get back the skin I liked, Finally I no longer could go back and Opera had become absolutely hideous so I stopped using it and came to Firefox which HAS BEEN GOOD ABOUT NOT PULLING THIS UNTIL NOW. So JUST STOP THE OPERA CRAP NOW!

and it was more than that, the tabs and backgrounds were blue as well and the names of the tabs were only visible with no traditional tab outline, and a whitish see through vague halo appearance of the traditional tabs when i hovered over one. This was nasty and clearly, though sporting a blue XP color scheme, having NOTHING TO DO WITH my xp color themes. In fact I could see that if i chose another xp color, it would all change to that. Every time I launch Firefox 4 it opens 3 or 4 blank windows, no longer opens the tabs from the previous session and does not show my bookmarks sidebar.

I have to manually close the extra windows and restore the tabs from the previous session, and reopen the sidebar. In disgust I uninstalled Firefox 4 and reinstalled 3.6. Everything works fine in 3.6. Looks to me like Firefox 4 has many major bugs and is not yet ready for prime time. I'll stay with 3.6 for now.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well. 
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.

I had about 17 tabs open on my browser. I clicked a link to open another one and when the tab opened the other tabs disappeared. What happened here?

I had 17 tabs open. When I clicked a link to open a new tab all the other tabs disappeared. I thought a new window had been opened instead, but this is not the case there is only one window open on my mozilla browser. If I try to close the window I get a message that says there are 26 tabs opened, I opened 9 more tabs. Can anybody tell me what is going on here or how I might figure this out?
Also, when I close a tab and try to reopen the tab using the right click menu, the 'undo closed tab' menu is disabled. What happened here? Can anybody tell me how to re-enable it?

I've seen some occasional glitches with windows losing the toolbar area, but not one that disturbing.
If you click and drag down on the 18th tab enough to tear it off into a new window (and possibly the same for the other newer tabs you opened), can you get the 17 tabs to re-appear in the first window? If not, I'm not sure there is a way to mend the window. If it's NOT a private browsing session, you might have to use Firefox > Exit (or File > Exit) and restore your session to get a working window. That won't work with a private window...
As a backstop, you might also right-click a tab in the window > Bookmark All Tabs before ending your session. (Because session cookies and other transient data are not preserved when you reload bookmarks, this isn't as effective as restoring a session. On the other hand, bookmark storage is less fragile than session data storage.)
Regarding Undo Close Tab, are the closed tabs listed on the History menu under Recently Closed Tabs? If so, that context menu item definitely should be enabled.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
