I'm getting a n error message when I try to open Itunes. Itunes was not install correctly. Please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114) This happened after I unsuccesfully tried to install an update. I have had itunes on this computer for three years. After upgrading itunes it says ' itunes was not installed corectly please reinstall so i uninstalled everything apple : bonjour apple application support , quicktime ....., than installed itunes again nothing ! same message i'v tried dowload microsoft.net framework didden't help. I noticed that quicktime isent working either it says ' please install apple aplication support so i downloaded winrar opened the setup from itunes and installed apple aplication support . Now after a week itunes still says ' itunes was not installed correctly please reinstall and quicktime still says ' please install apple aplication support. I'm 14 and from Belgium so i don't understand the really complicated told selutions but i do understand if you could explain it in steps ! please help me my ipod was conected to my pc when this all happend so it deledet all my music on my ipod please please please help me !
After searching on line, it seemed that this was a compatibility issue, and I might need .NET 3.5, which in turn seems to be part of SP2, but my autodownloads failed and the patch for downloading SP2 failed to install also.
Yeah, that'll be our issue. We'd better get you up to SP2 ... without it, you won't be getting any security updates now, so you'll possibly be a wee way behind on that front. (In the grand scheme of things, that's probably the more significant problem.)
Are you able to get SP2 in if you do a manual download of the System readiness tool? There's instructions for that in the Information for Advanced Users section of the following document:

After multiple installations of iTunes it can be frustrating when the issue isnt resolved. I was able to locate the following knowledge base article that specifically addresses the "Error 7" you are recieving.

The Resolution section has different steps depending on what version of the Windows Operating System you're using. Since it can be a bad installation of these Windows files, pay close attention to the instructions on repairing if the file already exhists.

literally tried EVERYTHING. uninstalled and reinstalled tons! downloaded revo uninstaller and uninstalled that way, followed all the steps i could find and it STILL won't work!
please please please can someone suggest something?!I too had this problems (Windows 8.1). A few weeks ago after the previous update before this version of itunes, I'd had a problem with the itunes store crashing and at that time I followed instructions to copy QTMovieWin.dll to the itunes folder, which fixed the store crashing.
Today I fixed the problem by:
Delete QTMovieWin.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Uninstall ALL Apple Software using Control Panel / Programs and Features. I uninstalled:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Application Support
Apple Software Update
Bonjour
Delete the folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
Restart the computer
Reinstall QuickTime
Reinstall iTunes
Everything works GREAT now, including the iTunes store. You will not lose your media files, I got everything back, all my settings, playlists, etc. -

A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:

Was not enough room to finish. I tried to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall but I was asked to validate an unidentified publisher and don't have a clue what that is and could not remove programs. I am not good at fixing stuff on the computer and would like some help with this. I have had iTunes for a long time without issue.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)

Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
