Inventory management for Equipment

Hello Experts,
One of our client is currently using SAP-ERP system. They are having sensitive equipment for their safety purpose to all the gate securities. Now they are using Third party tool for their application. The current system is not reliable for tracking the material flow, equipment tracking, and online inspection for the equipment. Currently they are having 40posts (Gates).Different type of equipment is located in all the posts based on its range.
Equipment issue, Retrieve equipment, conumption posting, scrap accounting also maintain in MM
So they want to automate this process in SAP system  which includes all the Employee details (Security),Medical Fitnessu2026u2026u2026for ease tracking of the equipment ,status of the equipment, employee equipment training, online-inspection and security shift change details.
How to map this scenario in MM?Awaiting for your valuable reply.

  • Urgent-Inventory Management in case of a glass or ply industry

    A typical scenario.
I am facing a problem in inventory management for a client of mine who is into glass cutting and supply. The glass sheets are purchased in sheets from the vendor and is cut into various shapes and dimensions according to the order recieved by him. now in most of the cases the entire sheet is not used in a particular order. the remaining part which is not  used goes to the inventory. Now for a next order all the remaining part may be used if it matches the lengthXBreadth specifications. So the inventory items should show the length X Width specification. The dimensions are not fixed and there may be  "n" number of variables.
Example- A default sheets of sizes 10"X10" is purchased form vendor. Seperate shapes of 6"X4" and 4"X 4" is cut out from it. Then the remaining part will have a dimension of 6"X10", which goes to the inventory. Now whenever he will see te inventory report he should be able to see that 1qunty of 6"X10" is ther in the inventory. So that when if he recieves an order of 6"X8" or 6"X10" he can use that and save cutting a new sheet (10"X10"). This will minimise the wastages.
I had planed to do it by the area but then that does not solve the perpose as the inventory total will show the sum area of all the dimensions in the inventory in "sq@units". Makong item masters for different dimensions will involve a huge inventory management and the users may land up in making numerous masters evry day and also risk of the duplication of the same masters will prevail.
Please anyone who has done any implementation for such clients or of similar type or any one having a suitable solution to this issue........please help!!!

    Debraj,
In that case the option you could try is to enable batches and store the size as a batch number
For example: The inventory could have 10 pieces of item A
    Qty......Batch
    ..2.......6x10
    ..3.......6x8
    ..5.......6x6
Now when ever you want to add a cut piece of item A which is of size 6x10, you simply enter Batch 6x10 and this will not only increase stock by1 but also you now the visiblity of what the stock is made up of by running the Batch report.
If you want to do it in a much better way then you need to probably go with an AddOn

  • Inventory Management, Sales company of 20 people.

I want a program for inventory management for a company with 20 reps using ipads, all of the reps have ipads. We want to be able to monitor the reps inventory so that we can actively track the movement. Very important, this is not to track the sales of inventory, the actual distribution of inventory is done from the headquarters, and the inventory the reps have is for samples or distribution of inventory in the event that the product is needed immediately.
Basically we have a warehouse that monitors the inventory, but there are instances where a rep will give another rep a product to bring to the warehouse. And it becomes damaged or doesn't make it back, and then we have a hesaid/shesaid situation. So to avoid this I would like an application on the IPAD where we can actively tracky inventory.
If possible I'd like to be able to attach pictures, or scan the bar codes for every transaction as evidence of the transfer.
Now i don't know if this is beyond the capability of any apps available for the ipad, but to me it sounds as though this need is most likely very common for sales companies of any size.
I appreciate all of the help.

I'm still looking for a good answer. Most of the products I've come across have been more sales based and aimed at tracking sales. They seem more focused on revenues and such.
Even if someone knows a website that is accessible from an Ipad that would be great. I see 110 people have looked at this and not one response, so i'm starting to wonder if anyone knows the answer. I'm willing to register and pay an annual fee for all of the accounts we would have signed up.
    Once again, thanks.

  • How to impliment inventory Management in BI using BX/BF/UM

    Experts !
i have to impliment Inventory management Data flow. i was reading SAP documentation on it, but i fount it bit confusing.
Could you please help me out to undertstand how does these 3 DS works ? and why do we need 3 diff. DS ?
I know , i am  asking a big question, and it would be bit tough to explain. but any kind of documentation will help.
i did research , but couldnt find the right way of doing it.
Please give me some thoughts !
    Appreciate it.

    Hi,
There are 3 DS for IM :-
2LIS_03_BX: extracts stock data from MM Inventory Management for initialization to a BW system.
2LIS_03_BF: extracts material movement data from MM Inventory Management (MM-IM) consistently to a BW system.
2LIS_03_UM: extracts revaluation data from MM Inventory Management (MM-IM) consistently to a BW system.
Maintain the following entries intables of the ECC System:
    Table TBE11:
Maintain entry 'NDI' (text: New dimension integration) and u2018BWu2019 and the flag Active.
    Also refer : OSS note 315880 & 571669.
    Step 1:
Go to transaction RSA5 and activate the 3 DS.
    Step 2: Delete Historical Data.
Step 3: Delete Data from setup Tables.
Step 4: Take reqd ECC downtime
Step 5: Stock Initialization : use transaction MCNB for 2LIS_03_BX data source.
Step 6: Fill Setup Tables for 2LIS_03_BF. (U can acces this from SBIW)
Step 7: Fill Setup Table for 2LIS_03_UM
Step 8: Pull Data for 2LIS_03_BX (the "NO marker update" shouldnt be ticked)
Step 9: Pull Data for 2LIS_03_BF.(the "NO marker update" should be ticked)
Successive delta loads should be with marker Updates (No Tick).
    Step 10:Pull Data for 2LIS_03_UM.
    Hope this helps.

  • Inventory Management (production company) - how do you do it?

    Hi Experts
We need a tool (report) which can help controlling the inventory (for a production company) and thereby support the persons who order materials etc. so that they know what materials to order and how much to order etc. The tool should be able to give ex recommendation on which materials to order based on the avg. movements in the stock and current demand.
The goal is to support the people who orders materials to have more acurate stock levels and thereby avoid running out a stock and having to much stock.
In that relation I have two questions:
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
    Torben

    Pedersen,
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
--> Yes, Standard business content available for Inventory management for reporting purpose.

    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
--> Based on above content we can check stock levels, moments(receipts & issues) and also slow moving.
--> But these content purely for repoting purpose only. How you want to build data on top of this...? and how you want to pass same information to raise an order...?

  • Deployed BP for retail store and inventory management

    Hi,
I have installed BP for retail which gives me the pages of store and inventory management but the iViews are not opening even after assignig the roles to the users. I have created the system alias SAP_ECC_RETAIL but still no luck.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Please check the following:
    1. Ensure the BP for Common Parts is installed on the portal. This package is a prerequisite for the retail BP that u mentioned.
    2. Make sure the system object that u created for the backend have passed the connection tests.
    3. If this does not solve the issue, please check out the defaultTrace and application.log files under the following directory:
    /usr/sap/SID/JC<NN>/j2ee/cluster/server0/log
Check the latest files here and post the error mssgs from there to this forum.

  • Q&A db for warehouse management and inventory management

    Hello Everybody,
i read on the help.sap website that standard as well as industry specific versions of Q&A db are available. but the website doesnt say where. i searched a lot but the links dont lead to the actual Q&A db.
i would like to request you to kindly share the Q&A db for inventory management and warehouse management with me as i need it for preparing the AS IS documentation.(preferably automotive industry but if not then even standard Q&A db is fine).
    thanks a lot.

Now QADB will not help to map the clinets requirement. Instead of QADB get AS IS information form Coreusers... thats best practice now....

  • Consignment Stock for Inventory Management

    Posting as a new thread...
I have installed and loaded the Inventory Management Cube 0IC_03 in our development and quality systems.  During testing we have found just one problem with Consignment Stock.  The Stock Initialization (2LIS_03_BX) does not bring in an initial quantity (BWMNG) for any material flagged as a Consignment Stock (Stock Category = K, field BSTTYP).
My question - is there a good reason for this or is this a problem?  It causes a problem with reporting, because balances are now off.  Do I need to change how reporting is done for Consignment?
It seems to me that the BX extractor should be picking up the initial balance.  I am trying to debug the code, but am getting a headache!
    Any help would be appreciated!
Yes, I have reviewed the "How To..." documentation, but don't see anything regarding consignment stock.
We are at BW 3.0b Support Pack 25.
    Lisa.

Thanks, Ken.   I don't know that this note actually helped me, but I did another review of OSS notes.  We have applied 3 of them (726485, 756151, 762219) and our consignment issue has been resolved.
Thanks for pointing me back in the right direction!
    Lisa.

  • Inventory management configuration for Rollout project.

    Hi all,
We have created new plant using Copy function (using reference Plant).
    Kindly let me know
what are other configuration required for Inventory management in new plant?
Please provide if any check list available for Roll-out project.
    Thanks
    SAP-PQ

    Hi
    1) If your plant is excise then you have to create excise group for that plant and G/L setting for that excise group
    2) You have to extend your material in new plant
    3) check your material type update for quantity and value update for your new plant in t-code OMS2
    and check following link

  • Wrong values for Total stock - Inventory managment ( negative values)

    Hi,
    I loaded inventory management load
2LIS_03_BF   INIT 01.06.2009 - 06.7.2009 No Marker Update (compressed with check)
2LIS_03_UM  INIT 01.06.2009 - 06.7.2009 No Marker Update (compressed with check)
the first quantity received is from 11.06.2009  and 0RECTOTSTCK is showing 300 which is correct.
on 10.06.2009 it is showing -300 for 0TOTALSTCK when it should be 0 since there hasn't been any data.
whats the right way to compress my cube if I don't want to load BX and how can I resolve this.
    thanks

    Hi,
The standard process to get correct values in report is
    1. First u have to do init laod from 2LIS_03_BX and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box unselected.
    2. Next u have to do init load from 2LIS_03_BF and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box selected.
    3.  Next u have to do init load from 2LIS_03_UM and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box selected.
    4. Normally u can run delta loads from BX and BF data sources. ( Compression is not mandatory. Even if u compress it will improve the performance)

  • Why no BCC UI for inventory management in ATG?

As per my understanding, inventory of SKUs should be maintainted by business users. But, I don't see option(UI) for that in BCC. Is my understand wrong? If not, what is the strategy Oracle/ATG recommending business users to maintain inventory management? Why no UI given for business users for the same? what is the reason behind it?

You can still manage the Inventory via dyn/admin in the Commerce Administration portion's Inventory Administration. It looks like this used to be managed there. My guess is that there wasn't enough of a demand for this and probably wasn't worth supporting a feature that very few clients used (as opposed to the third party integration which is what most do).
You should be able to extend the BCC to do inventory management through configuration. I'm not sure how this would be done as I haven't done this before, but I believe it should be possible.

  • Missing content for inventory management (cube 0IC_C03)

    Hi everybody,
I installed the following BI content for inventory management: Cube 0IC_C03, InfoSource 2LIS_03_BX and transfer rules from data source 2LIS_03_BX to info source 2LIS_03_BX. However, I'm not able to the update rule from info source 2LIS_03_BX to info cube 0IC_C03. I can only find the old update rule 0IC_C032LIS_40_S278 -> 0IC_C03.
I also couldn't find the update rule for material movements from 2LIS_03_BF to infocube 0IC_C03.
How can I find this missing content. We are using BI Content Release 704 Level 1.
    Thanks for your help!
    Thomas

    Hi Oscar,
unfortunately, I was not able to find a transformation for the datasource migrated to 7.0.
Btw, how do I determine to which version data sources are replicated. I have an underlying ECC6.0 system. When I replicate all data sources for that source system, datasources automatically show up as 7.0. I'm missing the pop-up question whether or not I want to replicate as 3.5 or 7.0.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Manage stock qty. in Storage bin for Inventory management

    HI all,
We are implemented Inventory Management (display stock of material for storage location).
I want to know is there any method in Inventory Managment to Manage stock of specific material in bin also.
Means User exactly should know the stock of specific material is located in Storage Bin.
Please suggest me the hole process or any customization
    Regards,
    Vraj

    Hi V raj,
I don't know whether i understood your question well. But i will answer in the way i understood.
To serve your requirement you need to have a Warehouse management, means to have a smooth warehouse bin wise storage.
But some companies are not willing to implement WM and they are finding a way with batch classification. They maintain batches for material and storage bin are maintain in a batch classification. So you can view it in MMBE also by going into the batch classification of the relevant batch.
And if you want to have a detail report you can develop a simple report or a query to retrieve batch classification data.
    For batch classification activation:
    1. Material must maintain "Batch management" tick in Purchasing and storage plant data views
    2. Create a seperate class for this using CL02
3  Create batch characteristic using CT04 (this is to maintain Storage Bin)
    4. Add classification view to each material and the relevant batch class.
    5. When you are doing the GR use "Batch" tab and "Classification" button to maintain relevant Storage bin data. (To update mass scale you can create a "Z" report getting help of a developer in your company)
    6. Now each batch you are maintained your storage bin view it trough MMBE (But only one batch classification) or in-house developed report ("Z") program
    Thanks & BR
