IPod Will Not Display In My Compuater unless updating and album art.

Okay, when I plug my Ipod into my computer now it doesnt seem to immediatly recognise it. It takes a few minutes. When it does finally catch my IPod is not adding with any of my new songs the album art with it. It was also saying that ITunes Artwork file temp 2 was corrupt or something. I just want to get this problem solved before my 3 months are up cause its coming in two weeks.

Try restoring your iPod. Just be aware that restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. Says there are no usable streams in the media! Just saw a podcast title about stress in the editing business. Better listen to the one! Any help would be most appreciated. J.

Copy ALL contents of SD card to a folder on edit hard drive. not just video clips, everything. Then in Premiere, import using Media Browser (tab at lower left of Premiere screen). This usually does the trick. There is metadata contained in the SD card files that is needed, not just the video clips alone.

I bought the metallica collection and my ipod will not download the songs,it just stops and go back to the home screen.

MSI R5750 Will not display during boot, crashes on update

I recently upgraded my PSU and VGA for my computer and am using a generic LCD monitor (hp L1925). When I installed the VGA, it will not send any video output unless the monitor is first plugged into the motherboard's video. When I plug the monitor into the VGA, everything runs fine, the VGA works well. However, when I try to either install or uninstall drivers, part of the monitor turns black and then loses picture. Live Update has my system at the latest version of BIOS for both the motherboard and VGA. Any ideas?

I swapped out the video cable between the monitor and the vga, now everything is working very well. Thanks.

The wording on the Apple Store for the iPod AV Connection Kit does seem to indicate otherwise:
"This kit includes everything you need to connect your iPod to your home stereo or television so you can share your favorite tunes, snapshots and movies with friends and family. Compatible with all iPod models with Dock connector.*"

I haven't bought the kit yet but I can't see anything on the webpage that says you can't display SlideShows on the TV.
I think I'll ask a Genius as I'm going to the Apple Store in a couple of weeks for some retail therapy

Ipods will not display correctly.

Tried to reset my Ipod touch and now only shows the apple and then shows white screen. When hooked up to the computer it does not recgonize the ipod. Any help would be great

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The ipod will charge and allow me to access it/touch screen still works. When you click on an ap it is very delayed accessing. Sometimes music takes a while to show up, other times it freezes altogether.
Started a few weeks ago after it sat in a hot vehicle (not in use) for a few hours and hasnt worked since!

If you still have problems after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod you very likely have a hardware problem. Excessive heat will permenently degrade the batter. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

You could try the new Reset feature. This duplicates certain key data from your active settings folder into a new one, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins will still be active, but could be disabled manually if you like.

Hi Diana, do you see any notification icons in the address bar to the left of the address? Those may indicate security or plugin issues. If you see anything there, click on them for more information.
You also could try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash, Java, other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

My iPOD will not display visual during Video Playback - only Audio. Help!

My movies and TV shows are successfully downloaded from iTUNES and successfully synched to my iPOD, however, when I attempt to playback on my iPOD, I can only hear the content and not see it. The only thing I see is the movie album cover and the name of the movie and that is all. Any suggestions are appreciated.

On the menu of your iPod go to Videos> Video Settings> and turn TV Out to off. Hopefully this will help.

IPOD will not display in new version of iTUNES

We installed the newest version of iTUNES and now our computer (Windows XP) won't recognize the iPOD. Has anyone experienced this problem?

VLC Player will not Display Subtitles for AVI/SRT Files and Some MKVs

For some reason, I have never been able to play AVI files in VLC with SRT subtitle files. If I drag-and-drop the subtitle onto the video while playing, I see the entry add to the "subtitles" menu in VLC and I can select that but nothing shows up on the video itself. Subtitles seem to work fine in ISO DVD images, DVDs during playback, and an MKV file I acquired from a friend. I recently started using mkvtoolnix to mux MKV files from the pairs of AVI files and SRT files I have but it seems the subtitles never work on those either. On the Windows build of VLC, the subtitles for the exact same files work fine. I have tried changing the line breaks in the SRT files from Windows-style to UNIX-style but it hasn't helped. On Linux, I am using all the newest versions of the software from core/extra/community. Does anyone have any ideas? Is anyone else having this problem?

For watching videos that don't have their subtitles burned in to the image I would prefer MPlayer. With a few settings it works really well (or has worked for me, so far.) The only problem with MPlayer is that by default, it uses it's own font for subtitles. This is easily fixed, however. Edit your ~/.mplayer/config as follows:
embeddfonts=yes
ass=yes
This will fix the problems with MKV's atleast. I can test this with SRT / avi combo really soon too. I know this isn't really an fix to the problem at hand, but VLC just isn't too good with softsubs.
embeddedfonts works only for fonts embedded into mkv containers for use with ssa or ass stylized subtitles, I think.
The man page state it's enabled by default if you have a recent fontconfig:
-embeddedfonts (FreeType only)
Enables extraction of Matroska embedded fonts (default: dis‐
abled). These fonts can be used for SSA/ASS subtitle rendering
(-ass option). Font files are created in the ~/.mplayer/fonts
directory.
NOTE: With FontConfig 2.4.2 or newer, embedded fonts are opened
directly from memory, and this option is enabled by default.
ass means mplayer uses libass to render ssa and ass subtitles; srt subtitles aren't affected by this option.
I agree with you though that where windows has CCCP, linux and mac have mplayer
