Is there a way to protect the iCloud control panel access with a password in Windows 7?

I have MS Outlook sync'd with my iCloud services in my Windows7 office PC (I'm pushing for Macs, but quite there yet, unfortunately!), and I have it password protected so nobody else can access my files. However, the iCloud app in Control Panel doesn't have any password protection so it can be messed with at any moment. Is there any way to protect it, or are there any plans to include this feature in future updates?

I would like to password protect the access to the iCloud Control Panel. Is there a way to do that? I can either "Sign in" or "Sign Out."
if I sign out I can't add iCloud calendar to Outlook. If I stay signed in, IT could easily activate my personal iCloud mail.
Ideally, there should be a checkbox to just add calendar and leave mail, contacts and task out all together.

Is there a way to change the Windows Update service startup type on Windows Server 2012 R2?

We have a number of newly built 2012 R2 servers that we have HP Operations Manager agent running on that monitors the status of several services and reports if they are "stopped". One of these services is Windows Update. Every day we
get at least one alert saying:
"Service "Windows Update" is not started. Current state is stopped"
Checking the event logs shows that the Windows Update service stops, then a while later it just starts again. Not an error, just an information event.
In Windows 2012 R2 the Windows Update service is set to "Automatic (Trigger Start)", where in previous versions we run (2012/2008R2) it would be set to just "Automatic" or "Automatic (Delayed Start)"
I have come to understand that this behaviour is normal for Windows 2012 R2, and that Trigger Start services by design stop themselves after a period of inactivity. I was unable to find any info on how this works. Our client would like this to
be changed and the Windows Update service stay running all the time, understanding that this impacts performance.
Is there a way to change the Windows Update service in Server 2012 R2 to the old Automatic startup behaviour so that it stays running all the time instead of stopping and starting periodicall? There is no option to do this via the services mmc
gui.
So far I have tried:
Removing the Triggers using the command: sc triggerinfo wuauserv delete
This works temporarily, the service then shows as just Automatic in the services console, however if you restart the server or restart the service it goes right back to being Automatic (Trigger Start).
Any kind of help would be appreciated.

In PSE9 is there a way to enlarge the levels adjustment panel for viewing? The histogram is so small.
I know we can use the arrow keys to change the settings for the histogram, but it is just the overall view of it I would like to see bigger.
I think with PSE8 the effects panel could be dragged out of the panel bin and made longer AND wider, but in PSE9 it can only be made longer when dragged outside the panel bin.
And I think the whole panel bin could be dragged wider or narrower.

not really apart from changing the resolution, but theres a a couple of things you can do
you can change the "minimum font size" in Safari (and other apps) in the General tab - this will enlarge any fonts to the minimum size you specify if they are under that size
the features in the accessiblilty section of system preferences might be worth a look as well
the pinch zoom feature is also useful
unfortunately there isn't a 1-button setting somewhere that can do this, because apps, documents, web pages, images etc all work independently from each other, they use different font types, different zoom levels, etc. You can't just enlarge them all in sync without content getting jumbled up/distorted. if enlarge an app/page/document and get it looking good, on the next one you would probably need to zoom in at a different level for it to look right

Is there a way to remove the apps that came with my ipod?

so you know how when you hold down the home button then all the apps become shaky with the little white X in the corner of them to delete it? Well i was wondering if there is a way to delete the apps that come with the ipod already loaded onto it and dont show up with and X and only shake. Because i never use some of them and they are just taking up space but i dont know if you can delete them. is there a way? thanks!

You can go to settings, general, restrictions, and then enable the restrictions. You can then choose what you want visible on your home screen. To bring back what you've restricted, simply go back to settings, disable the restriction, and it'll be regular again.

Create an ODBC using java without using the windows controll panel

Hi, does anyone know if its possible to set up an ODBC connection to a MySQL database using a java program, or do these things always have to be made using windows from the control panel?

Is there any way to fix the window screen grab in 10.5?

For whatever reason, the window capture function (CMD-SHIFT-4, then SPACE) in OS X 10.5 now insists on including the shadow of the window being captured. Given how much documentation I write this is a HUGE setback for me; what used to take a few seconds now takes several minutes since I now have to edit every image in Photoshop to remove the shadow, or use CMD-SHIFT-4 without the SPACE and hope my marquee is accurate.
Is there any way to fix this "improvement" (ahem) in 10.5?

Here is the problem.
Let's say you have a window that's sized to, say, 400x300, and you want to grab that window. You hit SHIFT-CMD-4, then tap SPACE, then click on the window.
Up until OS X 10.5, you would get an image file on your desktop that, when opened, contained a 400x300 graphic of that window.
Starting with 10.5, when you open that image you get an image that's LARGER than 400x300 and contains the window plus the shadow that OS X puts around it, with transparency.
Yes, they look great when you post them in documents with any color background. But that's only useful if you have an actual design-need for a drop shadow. Believe it or not, there are countless instances where a drop shadow is NOT needed or wanted. This means that I have to edit every file to remove the drop shadow which is a waste of time. Before Apple forced the drop shadow, I had the choice of whether to include a drop shadow or not when I work with the file in InDesign, and the drop shadow would work beautifully in any color background.

CS4 : is there a way to show the windows taskbar in fullscreen mode?

Does anyone know of a way to be in "FULL SCREEN MODE WITH MENU BAR", but to still have the windows taskbar being displayed? In CS2 XP, the taskbar was always displayed in that mode, but in CS4 64 VISTA, it unfortunately doesn't draw the taskbar in that mode anymore.
I'm stuck in a bad situation becuase I *must* be able to see the taskbar at all times and I *must* be able to freely reposition the image anywhere I want on screen, and that's impossible right now because of this...
Anyone know of any hack around this problem? thx.

I'm having the same problem.... CS3 it worked fine and in CS4 it completely hides the systems tray, task bar, and windows start menu... I know there are "work arounds" but what about people that use a wacom table to do all of their work and need to get to something on their task bar... well they can't now because it's completely hidden.... it'd be nice to have some help with this one please!

Why is there a restriction on window size in Pages 5.0? And is there a way to make the window smaller anyway?

I like to work with multiple windows open on the same screen at once. Now the smallest allowed width of the window takes up over half the screen (I have a 13 inch macbook)! This restriction is here whether or not I am zoomed in or out. Can I get aroundt this???

The quickest way is to print to a new PDF and use shrink to fit. Be sure you set the paper size in the printer properties. Normally this is not recommended, but it is a quick approach. You would loss any bookmarks and other markup with the print.

Thanks for the obvious reminder That was a duh moment. It's easy to forget the simple sometimes when you get involved in troubleshooting when it's not something you do on a daily basis that's for sure. The Toshiba controls have been fine for the life of the Toshiba laptops we have had, but I always felt they were a little limited on options IMHO.
In this instance I needed to utilize some of the added XP options as this laptop actually had the hinge 'sprung' a little and didn't "shut down" or hibernate when you closed the lid.....changed hubby's "normal procedure" for utilizing this "shop laptop" so he didn't overheat and fry the hard drive which is what I believe happened originally to the system that had been working fine until the hard drive was fried. Changed it out, reloaded everything for him only to have the system need to be reformatted again within a week as windows took over. As I was investigating causes I realized the malfunction. Not sure of the how or why, but now have automated shut down backups if he forgets to shut down when he shuts the lid and walks away. So far so good

Is there anyway to hide the movie controls in quicktime when pausing movies? It's quite irritating when trying to analyse video, especially when resolution is low, and can't move the controls out of the video window to see whole picture. There should be a way to move them outside the movie window?

Click the mouse while it is over the player window. The onscreen controls and title bar will disappear.

I don't have any friends with a mac so hard to use Ichat. But with my pc i could use webcam and mic but with a mac they don't work at all is there a way to work. I have a Yahoo account and it works there the cam at least not mic. Or do all my friends have to buy a Mac??? I usually use Msn and there isn't even an icon for the mic or cam.
