ITunes recognizes that I have 1.17GB of MUSIC, but.......
I put 1.17GB of music into iTunes from misc. downloads of music from limewire and music from my cds. But!!! When I plug my iPod into the computer for iTunes to trans fer the music it TAKES UP "9.8GB" of space on my iPOD! I'm really F*ING CONFUSED. I have asked all my friends who all downloaded their music from limewire had never had a problem like this, they think that I may need to re-download iTunes and reinstall it and try the transfer again, I had just bought this iPod off of ebay used. It looks excellent, and has excellent battery life. I just don't get what is going on. I put a total of 323 songs on my iPod, and only equaled up to 1.17 GB but takes up over 9 GB on my iPod. I started to think about why this is happening and then thought that I may have to compress the music in some way. There is this "ACC something" which I have been told it compresses the music, but when I try it it only makes a copy of my music in the iTunes library. I then thought all I had to do was then hook up my iPod and iTunes would update it but makes another copy of the song, thank gog I only tested it on a few songs.
PLEASE HELP ME, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!

call the APPLE store, even though it reconize you purchase them already, APPLE will charge you again. it happened to me. when u call them they can resend them to your phone FREE of charge. It makes no sense, i mean they know you already purchase them, then y dont they just allow us to redownload them free of charge.SMDH

I've got movies on my computer on itunes, however my parents wish that i use my laptop for itunes stuff, and i cant figure out how to get those movies to be able to sync with my ipod again, it wont recognize that I have them. Suggestions?
While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

For the last 3 or 4 versions of iTunes, and continuing in 11.05, the site recognizes that I have a 64 bit OS (Windows Vista) and downloads the 64 bit version of setup. Setup installs iTunes in the 32 bit application directory (Program Files x86) - it's not all that unusual to run a 32 bit app under a 64 bit OS - BUT whenever I connect any of my iPhones, I get an error message that say I cannot use the iPhone because the 64 bit version of iTunes is not installed. The message then tells me to de-install iTunes and to install the 64 bit version.
Like I say, the 64 bit Setup version is selected for me, and it runs error-free, but I seem to have no control or ability to force the installation of a 64 bit iTunes app. And all the iPhones are inoperative with the 32 bit version I have. I have another PC, which I have held at an earlier iTunes release. Although it's a notebook, it's identical in every other way (OS & installed utilities and apps) to the desktop that has developed the problem, and my iPhones work fine with it, although iTunes on it is at the earlier release, and I have no intention of upgrading that version until I understand and have corrected the problem.
Any ideas or suggustions?
Thanks.This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64 bit version of iTunes.
That usually indicates that your Apple Mobile Device Support has not installed. That's also what is being shown by the diagnostics (the driver is there but the application isn't).
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
How do I get iTunes to recognize that I have already downloaded a song?
I have a song I have purchased and downloaded. When looking at the "Songs" view the song is listed twice. One with a cload download button next to it even though I already have it downloaded. I deleted the existing file and it was still listed twice, this time with a cload button next to both listings. How do I get iTunes to recognize that I have purchased it only once?
I've tried all of that and iTunes still won't sync my phone. I've deauthroized my computer than reauthorized it. I've deauthorized all computers then reauthorized my computer and every time I go to sync, iTunes keeps telling me my computer isn't authorized.

My IPhone 5 will not recognize that I have an Itunes Match account. When I try to turn the Itunes Match button on in settings I get a mesage saying I am not subscribed to ITunes Match. This does not happen with my Ipad. Any Ideas what to do?

I'm not sure about how to get iTunes to recognize that my music is in one location (on my MacBook's internal hard drive) and my movies and tv shows are in another (on an external hard drive I purchased). I know how to make iTunes recognize that all of my iTunes files are on an external hard drive, but not only some of them. Please help me out. Thanks.
While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes. Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located. If you did not set up find my iPhone on the iPod, you can't find it.

After the last update of itunes I seem to have lost all the music that I had downloaded from my Cds. It was a lot of music! All I still have is the music that I had purchased in the itunes store. And before you asked. No, I did not have a backup. Never got around to do it.

I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 yesterday (don't know why yesterday, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get the "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into it via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload yesterday. I also just had a look in the last import folder, because of a comment from someone above. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - so it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is super-frustrating (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip). It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
If you have any ideas, I'd be most grateful!

what can i do if i accidentally deleted my iPhoto from my macbook air and the App Store couldn't recognize that i have bought it before and required me to buy it again ... should i buy it again or what ? i can't manage my photos now ...
Log into the app store using the Apple ID you used to set your computer up. Look under purchases. If it is not there you may need to accept it or to unhide it

Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". -

You can view the purchase history on your computer's iTunes : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases. (On your phone you can view a cut-down version of the purchase history via http://reportaproblem.apple.com).

Hi there everyone. I'm trying to mix in 5.1 surround sound. I started a project and set it to 5.1, and I can edit everything just fine. The problem is that I can't monitor my results, because Audition doesn't seem to recognize that I have a 5.1 system (Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Digital) hooked up via 6-channel direct. It's not recognizing more than two channels. Does anyone know what's going on?

I think you're correct, although I can understand entirely why ryclark said what he did - there are at least two reasons! Firstly, Creative Labs have history with piss-poor driver software (and hardware), and secondly (as an extension of this), it's quite normal for a lot of sound device manufacturers to provide only the minimum MME requirement as far as Microsoft is concerned - and that's just a two channel stereo output.
MME is obviously quite capable of supporting multichannel devices, albeit at higher latency values. If you are looking at just a playback situation though, this doesn't really matter. What may have happened here is that the driver software on your machine, and on the OPs, are simply at different version levels, and that all that's required is for the OP to update it.
For anybody serious about this though, I'd still recommend upgrading to an external sound device as any internal device, whoever made it, is inevitably going to be compromised in terms of performance. There are several reasons for this, but primarily they are too close to a load of digital noise within the machine, and this limits their signal to noise ratio. External devices are a lot better from this point of view, and usually you aren't limited by ridiculously flimsy 3.5mm jack connectors either. And inevitably, internal sound devices are built down to a price, not a performance point - not so good.
