Java system refresh issue- NW701

Hi,
We are facing an issue below.
Scenerio- Standalone Java stack copy
Status- I have exported the source system using sap installer, now I am running sapinstaller to import the source system (exported DB).
Issue- When I am running sapinstaller on target system to import - it is not asking anywhere the location of exported source system and skipping this step.
Environment- SAP CRM700/NW 701 EHP1, AIX 5.3, DB2 9.5.
Any help on this would really be appriciated.
Regards
Harsh

  • DB refresh on Netweaver 7.0 ABAP+JAVA system - Issue

    Dear Folks
I am having an issue with starting the Java instance after system copy.
    This is the situation
System QAS database was refreshed from system PRD.
Both the systems are on NW 7.0 Ehp1 SP 18, in a HPUX/ORACLE environment.
Our normal landscape is full of R3 systems so teh DBA's have been historically doing DB refresh by copying for teh Oracle fileystems and then renaming the schema and some post db refresh activities to get the DB in teh target system up and running. Pardon my terminologies I ma not a DBA. The abpove procedure has worked fine with R3 systems.
But with the above mentioned Netweaver system ABAP instance is running fine after refresh while Java instance is not since SMSICM-> Goto-> HTTP Server -> DIsplay Data is showing
    HTTP Application Server Handler
    ABAP Server operational        = TRUE
    J2EE Server configured         = TRUE
    J2EE HTTP port                 =
    J2EE HTTPS port                =
    J2EE Server operational        = FALSE
Default root access handler    = ABAP
URL Prefix Table loaded        = TRUE
There are no other dumps or errors in the system and teh startup logs do not show any error. I have looked up online and the System Copy Guide for 7.0 systems and I understand SAP recommends using sapinst. But I would like to know if there is a workaround to fix the j2ee instance.
I have seen a few forumns where people have had similar issues but no solution.
FYI, The the Instance_IDXXXXX in the SAP J2EE Engine- Config Tool in system QAS is that of PRD and there is no entry for the instance ID of the QAS system.
I have tried changing all the entries that are pointing to PRD under Cluster_Data-> Instance.properties.IDXXXX to that of QAS and saved and restarted but no luck as the Instance_IDXXXXX of QAS does not show up in teh config Tool menu.
All the properties files at teh OS level are pointing correctly to QAS, so I would liek to know if there is any way to change the config on eth DB level.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
When you go for ABAP+JAVA system refresh please always ose the JAVA export method .
Take the JAVA export of the source system with the help of sapinst.Check the j2ee_admin and the ddic password of source system.
then you need to get the offline backup of the Source system.
then import it on the target system wth the help of sapinst and in the middle it shall promt you to restore from the backup of the source system.
Always use this method as JAVA stores it file at file system level and in the database. So you need both the files .

  • System Refresh: Abap+Java stack

Have a few questions about CRM refresh I'm working on. Done many refreshes over the years and the new process has me shaking my head in disbelief.
Performed a normal system refresh, by restoring online backup of production system onto mirror system. The mirror system exactly matches my production sytem (Oracle 10g, SuSE Linux 64 bit, UNICODE).
Now my system is running from Abap stack perspective, however Java components fail to load.
Now from reading the documentation (System Copy for SAP, Based on SAP Netweaver 2004s Abap+Java) it appears that I have to use sapinst and no longer use online database backups for system refreshes.
Is this the case? Has the investment my organization made into online backups now worthless?
Is there a way to take the java schema in this online copied database and bring it online after converting it to work on the mirror landscape?
Or should I throw out our system methodology and start new

    Thank you for the reply.
Reading SAP's documentation seems to imply that I need to extract out the java schema from my production source and then re-install on my QA target to make a refresh of the java stack possible.
However, if I have a complete copy of my source system database working on the target, why is the extract necessary?
At least, I should be able to extract out the contents from the source as if it was the target, thereby eliminating any sort of production outages (we have many constraints about shutting down production from fuctional perspective).
I'll do some research around the other tools mentioned to see if they can lend a hand fixing the issue,

  • JSPM patching issue after system refresh

We have recently done a System Refresh of Java-Addin box from a source system whic was on SP-13 on to a  target system which was on SP-14.
After the refresh we found the target system is now on SP13.   When I tried to apply SP-14, JSPM reports that the patch is already applied.  How do I go about ? Does this mean that SP-14 is already existing.  How to make the system recognise that the current patch is on SP-13. What needs to be done?
    Thanks in advance.
    Umamahesh

This is not a bug in JSPM,  if the System Refresh is done through SAPINST you shouldn't have such issues.
I think that since some of the files in J2EE are not updated after the manual system refresh and JSPM must be pointing to the earlier Patch level.
Especially files under  ..../bootstrap/SAP AG are not updated
In JSPM by default the forcemode is disabled so given the manual way to enable the option
    Hope this is clear

  • System Refresh getting error "Your System has corresponding JAVA stack"

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to do a system refresh on my HCM system which is ABAP only.
When I run SWPM --> Generic Installation Options -->MS SQL Server --> Database Tools --> Database copy completion, I get the following error.
    Version Information is as follows:
    Kernal is 721
    ECC 6.0 Basis 702 level 9 (Netweaver 7.02)
Windows server is 2008 R2 standard
    MSSQL is 10.50.4000
Yes, I have done my research and failed also has a High OSS message open with SAP. This issue is very critical so any help as early as possible is highly appreciated.
    Thank You.

    Hi Muhammad,
It looks like you have a Java schema in your database, and sapinst is finding that and therefore assuming it's a double-stack system.  Perhaps this system used to be double-stack at one time, and then was split?  In the trace file I saw the following entries, at different points:
    SID: HCT
    DbServer: USALSQLT01\HCMT
    DbName: HCT
    ABAP Schema: hct
    Java Schema: SAPHCTDB
    TRACE      2014-04-18 09:26:36.318
Found corresponding java schema SAPHCPDB. Aborting.
    TRACE      2014-04-18 09:26:36.333 [iaxxgenimp.cpp:325]
               CGuiEngineImp::showDialogCalledByJs()
    showing dlg d_doubleStackSystemError
    TRACE      2014-04-18 09:26:36.333 [iaxxgenimp.cpp:335]
               CGuiEngineImp::showDialogCalledByJs()
    <dialog sid="d_doubleStackSystemError">
    <title>Unsupported System</title>
    <dialog/>
So, that seems to be the cause.  If you're sure this is only supposed to be a single-stack ABAP system, you might try deleting the SAPHCPDB schema using database tools and then re-running sapinst.
While you're at it, it looks like you might have an old copy of Sun JRE 1.4.2 still installed (perhaps from the old days when that version was required to run sapinst).  In the environment variables in the trace I saw:
    JAVA_HOME=C:\j2sdk1.4.2_29-x64
You might want to uninstall that if you don't need it anymore, and unset that environment variable.  Also, your swap size looks low for a 64-bit system with 8 GB RAM, even for a test system:
    Swap size (MB): 9998.18
    Best regards,
    Matt

For manula downlowd( directly from service market place) is difficult for java system and i have started sysnc with solution manager system to download patches through MOPZ.
    Below are the activities completed:
    1) Through template installed I have rgeisterd the system into Solman SLD.
    2) Sync completed succfully exact product version is shwoing in solman SLD
    3) after that I have checked in SMSY and LMDB its showing prefectly
    4) But in SMSY its shwoing only under technical system, not showing product systems
    5) I have assigned in product system in LMDB
Now the issues while selecting the system group and logical componensts I have created one logical componnets -but in that SAP NW 7.4 is not showing and I have assumed SAP NW 7.3 EHP1 after creating my newly create dsystem is not shwoing in drop down.
    I ma getting belwo error.
No system found for this product/product instance
    Message no. SOLAR_SPROJECT110
Please sugegst how to reslove the error ,and a;lso please let me know is there any way to download latest pathces to dpownload from service market place .
    Advance Thanks

    Hi,
re-check if the 7.4 system is correctly registered in the solman SLD system.
Re-check LMDB definition for your 7.4 as JAVA system. you have to manually created the Product system. Ensure all the Component and definitions are correct.
Also do a verrification run within the LMDB. This will confirm whether all the information is correctly defined.
Please note - SLD -> LMDB -> SMSY.
So, if the first 2 don't have the correct information, you wont have much joy with smsy.

  • System refresh of abap+java

    Hi gurus,
I am trying to do the system refresh for ecc6.0 abap + java .I did the abap part with the oracle specific method where we restore the data files and run the control.sql command . But for the java part i am confused on what option i had tried to select abapJava and do an export and then when i am importing it with the abapJava option it is also doing the restoration of abap stack . If i select only java it is trying to create a instance JC00 which i dont want , Is there a method where i can only export the java stack and import into the abap system that was refreshed using the oracle restore method ?
    Thanks in advance

    try following this:
JAVA Refresh Procedure On SRC system
    1) Execute the following command after navigating to the SAPinst directory to the JAVA export using SAPinst.
    a. sapinst.exe product_cp.catalog
The export procedure is as follows
    1) Specify the SID name and export directory
    2) To take the export without stopping the JAVA process, uncheck the check box
    On TRG System Preparations
    1) Copy the export from the SRC export directory to the TRG system
    2) The JAVA versions should be same on SRC and TRG
    Import procedure is as follows
Execute the following command on the TRG system after navigating to the SAPinst in the Master DVD
    sapinst.exe product_cp.catalog
Check for the TRG system SID for example TAJ
    Note:
    1) Ensure that the SAP system is up and running.
    2) Ensure that temporary tablespace u201CPSAPTEMPu201D is not empty
After completing the import successfully, restart the SAP system.

  • AS Java system issue log analyse order

    Hi,
Just I would like to structurize the AS Java system log analysing steps for start up and sudden issues - purely for my documentation purpose. I know there are various logs for AS Java. I would request you to give those logs one by one in order of analyse till finding out the reason of issue occured.
like if this log is clear then go to this..if not here then go to the next ......
I hope my question is clear. We consider Database is up and no issues.
Please give your inputs and help out for the documentation.
    Thanks a ton to all

    Hi Daniel,
As per Sunny message, you have to check with the Log files Under directory Work ( DEV_* files  ) and /usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/JSPM/log

  • HP2000 issues after doing system REFRESH and everytime it does UPDATES

Every time I have updates on my laptop HP 2000 bf69wm I have major issues.  It happened again today I did the updates and then I cannot access anything on the internet.  I get the spinning circle of death and no pages load.  I did a system REFRESH which states it will not affect your personal stuff.  Well great my pics are all intact however my Windows Office programs are GONE!!! I had to pay to put that on my computer and now they are gone!!!  I got this laptop as a Christmas gift from my parents because my Toshiba is falling apart literally it is duct taped together.  However the Toshiba still has less issues than this laptop does and it is brand new.  So now do I honestly have to pay for Windows office again.  It was a one time download so I cannot just download it again and I need it for my college classes.  It is awesome to have a brand new laptop that only works when it feels like it and gives me more stress than it helps.  Can someone please help me on what the deal is with this and also why I keep getting a message saying my usage is at 100%?  I can be in my email and it tells me I am running at too much  blah blah blah.  So what is the purpose of the laptop if I cannot use it?  If I had known it was this bad I would have returned it but too late now.  PLEASE HELP!?!?!?!?!?

    HI,
IN DB restore the hostname of java system stored in profiles would be your PRD.
Go to Configtool in Edit mode -- cluster --> change the hostnames in Instance profile -- and under other files like bootstrap etc whereever you find PRD hostname.
And otherwise for JAVA system you should use export/import option.
