Legacy data(mapping to be done by xi (in xml format)) to sap using idoc .

hi all,
I need to work in an object in which requirement is like , the source data is directly extracted from legacy and input file is made. now i need to create an interface program which will be used to create purchase req. in weekly basis.  now according to functional specification xi team will  map the source data in xml format and then  through idoc data is to be pushed into sap. i am confused about the step by step senario from source data to final pr creation . please clarify if somebody had worked on this kind of situation.

Hi i encounter like this but in SD side,
from legacy ->XI -> SAP (create SO)
then from created SO via IDOC my requirement is to post delivery then billing.
I think in your case the PR is already created and to be process to PO.. better check and fully understand the flow with your team.

  • Steps to send data from BI 7.0 to PI in XML format...

    Hello everybody,
Can somebody share any direct link to a document or thread where I can find step by step details as to how to send data from BI 7.0 to PI in XML format?
I extracted data from ODS objects into CSV files through Open Hub Destination before, but need to know how to send same ODS data from BI to PI in XML format...
    Thanks in advance.
    ~S.H.

    just an idea:
Maybe one way could be creating xml data via simple transformation or standard transformation in sap bw. After maybe there could create an inbound message in xi for getting the data.
I never done it, but I thought this could be a practice?
Hope there will be better comments for that problem, soon!

  • Data mapping

    Hi guys,
what is data mapping? I don't think this is XI mappings.is this something related to EDI
    Thanks
    Sud

    Sud,
It all depends on the context where u are using these terms. As per the XI Mappings there is nothing like data mapping.
In my client place they will call the Transformation document as Data Mapping sheet. It's nothing but the data mapping between the source and the target structure. I mean how the source structure need's to be transformed to the target will be defined in the data mapping sheet.

  • ALE  legacy data

Can some one tell me when to do the ALE configurations in the implementation project as in ASAP , and are the configurations  done between production servers  or development servers, how do we go about the client numbers user ids in such a situation..?
When do we upload the legacy data  in the implementation project?

    Hi,
First of ALE concept is used between 2 SAP servers and mainly used for exchanging master data between the 2 systems.  In real time when a company is having multiple SAP servers and there are some common materials, customers, vendors across company in different SAP systems, I want all those master data to be part of all the sap systems, i cann't ask my users to replicate the same data from 1 SAP server to the other sap server in real time.
So we use this configuration to transfer the master when ever there is a change in SAP server, the same has to be replicated in the other sap server as well to maintain consistency across the sap systems in the company.
For development purpose exchange data between to development servers, for testing the similar configuration will be in test servers and finally the integration has to happen in production server.
While doing the ALE configuration in SALE transaction itself you will give the complete set of details of the target server.  In the RFC port you are mention the user id and password of the target server there.
For doing the ALE configuration you need to the system details of the target like IP address, User ID, Password and client number from your target server guy.
That's how the things happen for doing the ALE implementation.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Need confirmation on the dynamical data mapping to the components..

    Hi All,
I would like to map the data dynamically to the combo box componet.
    Explanation:
I have created a webi report and imported that report to xcelsius, current the data is only for 50 rows and it may increase or decrease as per the selections.
I would like to map the exact data which is written to the excel to my combo box source data property.could you please let me know whether the source data mapping can be done dynamically ( what ever the rows data are there only those row need to be mapped to the source data) ?
    Cheers,
    Venkat

    Venkat,
The range is always fixed for any component but the display is dynamic(say for a combo box ). The component will behave as if it is increasing or decresing the range at run time by ignoring the blank cells.
When u said the option to change the data mapping, is it related to changing the range or did u want xcelsius to consider new data from else where in excel dynamically ..depending on conditions  ?
    Thanks,

  • Data in XML format (XML files) to BW?

    Hi,
My customer is interested in loading data to BW (from 3rd party system) in XML format. Are there any advantages of doing this (compared to traditional ascii files)? How about disadvantages (BW version is 3.5) ?. How to get started with this one, I noticed there is a possibility to create a XML data source. Is this able to take XML files into BW or what?.
    Any help highly appreciated!

  • Help using Stringification to map to legacy data

I am trying to map some JDO classes to legacy data in an existing Oracle
database. Some of the columns are of type varchar2 which contain binary data
I am trying to convert this data to java types using the Stringification
    mechanism in Kodo 2.5.0
Everything seems to be set up OK except that I don't seem to be able to get
byte values outside the range of 0 to 127 from the Strings passed to the
field factory methods. It seems that the data in the Strings has been anded
with 0x7f before being stored in the String. I am not sure where this would
be happening, i.e. at the jdbc level or somewhere in Kodo or in the String
    itself.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?
Will it even work? or do I need to find some other way?
ps I am wrapping the String in a ByteBuffer and using the methods provided
    to reconstruct the integer values.
    Regards,
    Andreas

    Abe,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have tried to create a custom field mapping using the sample in custom
proxies although I must be doing something wrong.
In the load method if I call rs.getString (index) there is no exception
however if I try to call rs.getBytes (index) I get an exception.
Not sure what to set where to overcome this.
I have set the type of the column to SQLTypes.STRING in the install method,
    ie.
    super.install (.......);
    getDataColumns ()[0].setType (SQLTypes.STRING)
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    TIA
    Andreas
Or create custom field mappings for those fields.
Unfortunately our documentation on custom field mappings is pretty sparse
(as in: right now it's just the Javadoc).

  • Legacy data transfer - open items customer/vendor

    Hi together,
We want to transfer legacy data to SAP. With our open item postings (customer/vendor) we want to  use the relevant tax code, but we don´t want to actually post the tax amount. (The tax will be transferred in sum)
    How does that work?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Murali,
I´ve checked that by entering a manual posing via fb01.
The problem is that within the posting I can´t set the tax code for the  transfer account (GL-account) since field
MWSKZ must be empty. I´ve already deactivated message no. FF753 but that does not influence the system behavior.
Else I get error message FF707.
Does SAP behave differently in case of LSMW?

  • How to map between child objects in a Siebel Data Map

Hello. I need to map a field from one child object to another child object using a Siebel Data Map.
Specifically, I have an Integration Object set up for FINS Group Policy with 2 child components (Action and Proposal). I want to map the Proposal's name to the Activity's Description. Here's the structure:
    Policy (io)
    -Name
    -Action (io)
    --Description
    -Proposal (io)
--PPSLFileName (this is the proposal's file name)
I can map from the parent (Policy) to the child (Action) as follows:
    Integration Component Map: Action-to_Action
    Source Expression: [FINS Group Policy.Name]
    Target Field Name: Description
This will map the Policy's Name to the Activity's Description.
I tried these, but they don't work:
    1)
    Integration Component Map: Action-to_Action
    Source Expression: [FINS Group Policy.Proposal.PPSLFileName]
    Target Field Name: Description
    2)
    Integration Component Map: Action-to_Action
    Source Expression: [Proposal.PPSLFileName]
    Target Field Name: Description
    Thanks for any help

    Hi,
For your issue, you can use the 2nd point what u hv mentioned :-
    Integration Component Map: Action-to_Action
    Source Expression: [Proposal.PPSLFileName]
    Target Field Name: Description
But it has some limitations,i.e the child's(Proposal) cardinality should be 1 or less than 1 i.e no. of instances of Proposal IC should not exceed 1 or else the data map will error out at runtime.

  • Need to know where to store  legacy data in CRM 5.0??

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I need your valuable suggestions for the below requirement. Your suggestions and comments are highly appreciated.
Currently we are maintaining customer licensing agreement master data in a home grown oracle legacy system. There are all together a couple of hundred agreement types. Each record consists of multiple attributes like agreement number, start date and end date etc.
Now we need to migrate this master data into CRM 5.0. I didn't find a valid data container to store these attributes. Marketing attributes whould have been good source, but they don't have the validity periods.
Also we need to extend the business partner by adding additional tab and assign the appropriate agreement types (multiple). I think we can do this by EEWB.
I am highly obliged, if you can please share some of your past experiences.
    Thanks,
    Paul Kondaveeti.

The way I see it there are only two options that will be suitable.
depending on the fact if the parameters you want to store should be visible later on, when calling BP transaction (also take into account UI such as portal and IC Webclient in later stages).
<b>If visibility is necessary</b> (and BW reporting will be done on those fields) I strongly suggest making use of Customer extension for the OBJECT BP using EEWB as you mentioned before. The advantage is that EEWB already generated the necessary data exchange structures and BDOC enhancements and also updates the datasources for BW reporting. Also the BOL for IC webclient will be updated.
<b>If visibility is not an issue</b> and no reporting requirements are necessary on those fields (altough for BW this is not a real issue since they can easily create their own datasources based on SQL queries and table Views) than you might choose just to create a Z-table with your own defined fields in a structure and upload the data to this table with the BP number as a key. With an own developed Function module you can always pick up the data later on during order processing if necessary.

  • User Rules in Data Mapping in SQL Developer Migration Workbench

    Hi
I was trying to add a User Mapping Rule in the Data Mapping, because the options provided where not entirely what I wanted.
Adding a new Rule for instance for SQL Server UniqueIdentifier works fine, but when I try to apply the changes it says that there was a duplicate rule for UniqueIdentifier. The option of removing the standard system rule is grayed out.
How is this supposed to work?
    Thanks
    Karl

    Barry
I don't quite understand what you mean by not been the same
If I add a new UserRule, I have the choice among the available source types
I choose for instance UniqueIdentifier and tell it, that I would like to have to option of converting to a VarChar2(36). I close the add new rule form and have the new user rule in the list. If I check the options in my new rule at that point, it shows all options from the system rule for UniqueIdentifier as well. Moreover, if I check the available options in the standard rule for UniqueIdentifier it shows my new VarChar2(36) as well.
When I try to close the mapping form at the point it complains about duplicate entries, which sounds reasonable after what I eplained above. But neither did I tell the system, that I would like to inhert the system rules for UniqueIdentifier in my new user rule, nor was it my intention for my new VarChar2(36) option to show up in the standard rule.
Could you please restate what you tried to explain me in your post.

  • Upload 3 year old legacy data into ECC

I need to upload legacy data (purchase orders/FI line items from accounting entries) of 2007/8/9 into ECC today through LSMW. Can i do this?Do I need to open posting periods of 2007/8/9. How to do that?
Does anything have to be done using MMPV or MMRV??

    Hi,
No this is not possible/recommended.  The recommended practice is to upload trial balance as on the cutover date.
    It means...
    1) If the cutover date is similar to year end, then only balance sheet items which are open items as on that date
    2) If the cutover date is other than year end date, then all open items of balance sheet accounts and year to date balance of profit and loss account.

  • [DME] Document about data mapping for HSBC ifile format (PP,ACH, COS)

    Dear SAP experts,
I'm implementing an automatic payment module through HSBC in an SAP project.
My customer want to streamline their payments to vendors using automated
    payments with HSBC.
I have a document about ifile description which show me information about the
structure and data format in HSBC ifile. I know how to create a DME format tree
but the HSBC format seem to be very complicated, it contains a lots of fields and
a lots of them I don't really understand.
I'm sure that many of you have done this before. Do you have any document about
data mapping for HSBC file format? I have a lot of fields leaving undone so any
relevant documents will be very helpful for me.
    Hope you can help.
    Thank in advance.
    Maxielight.

    Hello Maxielight,
I too am working on this IFILE format for transmitting to HSBC for Indian INR payments & am using DMEE.
I'm struggling with a couple of fields in relation to PP.
1st  is the 'Record Count' in FIle header, which is just a count of the total number of lines in the file.
2nd is the 'Total number of instructions in batch' in Batch Header section, because I'm trying to count using aggreation via reference node id, but because the Batch Header is level 1 & I need to wait for '2nd Party Details for PP' which is at a lower level I always get an error when I run the check with error 'aggregation not permitted because of field I'm using is lower level, or they are not in the same segment.
I've also tried creating a new segment with 'Delay output' but still get similiar error about the nodes being in differenet segments.
How did you get past this issue?
We are not using COS, instead we will print our own cheques in the office so sorry I cannot offer advise there.
Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve
