Listen Windows/Bonjour service from javascript

Hi,
I am using google development tool (https://developers.google.com/closure/library/docs/introduction) in my javascript in my c# asp.net application.
I have also one Bonjour service running on my machine. I would like to listen to that bonjour service from my javascript code.
1) Is that possible to access/listen windows service in javascript ? if yes then which third party tool I can use for.
2) Can I use that closures tool (goog.Provide(), goog.require() ) to listen windows service.

Bonjour services from Snow Leopard

Anyone use iNet? It shows Bonjour services on your network and I'm puzzled looking at one thing: it shows services from my machine to include printer sharing and Windows file sharing. Printer sharing doesn't surprise me as I had that turned on, but that's the only sharing I had turned on. Why would it be showing Windows file sharing if the FIrewall is on and no file sharing is turned on under Sharing? A new machine with Lion on it shows printer sharing as well, but not the Windows file sharing. As an experiment I went and turned off printer sharing on both machines, but iNet still shows them. I'm not sure what to make of this report.

Have EXACTLY the same issue - also tried reinstalling mountain lion server fresh and still had the same problem...

Can't see bonjour services from VPN access

Hi,
i've got several Macs and devices on my local network at sub-network 192.128.1.x (router at 192.168.1.1).
With my Macbook air for instance, Finder automatically find all my devices (macs, router, windows PC, NAS...) and they are in left folder of the Finder View.
When i'm out of my home, i connect my Macbook to my home network through an VPN server (PPTP). The mapping of this VPN is 192.168.2.x.
I can mount my remote devices through manual commande (Alt K in finder - connect to...) which are in the 192.168.1.x subnet.
But the Finder can't see them automatically,
is there a way to setup Bonjour Services, or subnets, or FInder automatic browsing, to find all my devices like if i were at home ?

So you are use an separate account(not admin) on this mac
Bonjour usually picks up the name of the computer in sys prefs/sharing.
Edit: just checked and its getting it from the address book, so the MEcard is yours.

Bonjour services lost after waking up from sleep

My MacBook Air can initially see all the Bonjour Services from my NAS, Printer and PC in my local network.
When my IBook becomes awake after it was in sleep mode all the available Bonjour Services are not visible anymore.
My Wifi and internet are still working, but when I turns Wifi off and on, the services are visible again.
By the way my iPad doesn't have this kind of problems, Bonjour stays always visisble here.
What can I do to keep the Bonjour Services visible on my MacBook Air.

The previous solution only worked for a few days.
I have another fix from Apple that is working (for now):
Go to the network preference pane and create a new location by using the location pull-down menu. Call it whatever you want.
Select the new location. Choose the little tool icon dropdown under the left column of services and choose "set service order" Drag things around so that airport comes first and then ethernet. Save, apply, do what you need to do to save all of these settings. Restart the computer.
There might have been some other steps, but these are the main and most important parts.
The default configuration for service order is wrong and the computer gets hung looking around for a bluetooth or firewire network connection. After every major system update, check that the service order is set right--it could get overwritten.

Cannot install itunes 7.7 with Vista due to bonjour service issues

I wonder if it is worth looking in the your firewall configuration>>Programs and deleting any entry for Bonjour - in the hope that you will be prompted to allow it or not when you do the install, or maybe adding it back with permit all.

ITunes and Bonjour services

iPod Touch 3rd Gen v 4.2.1
Desktop Windows 7 Prof 32 bit
This morning I updated my iTunes to v 10.5.3.3. Then I tried to sync between an app on my iDevice and a desktop component on my Windows Desktop. Before the update of iTunes everything synced correctly....after the update I could not sync with my desktop. The app's Support advised that I should uninstall Bonjour services from my desktop and reinstall. The Bonjour on my desktop is v 3.0.0.10 (updated by Apple when iTunes updated) and the new download to install would be v 2.0.2 The app's Support believes that this version of Bonjour is conflicting with their desktop sync conduit.
What will happen to iTunes and/or syncing my iDevice with iTunes by installing the lower version of Bonjour?

Does your ASUS also have an ethernet NIC card?
By looking at the Bonjour service, the dependency tab shows Bonjour is dependent on TPCIP. And therefore, the brand of NIC card installed with its drivers or firmware.
I was thinking along those lines...several folks are having this problem and I wondered if it was a certain brand or release of NIC card. I'm sure Apple did not test every NIC card on the market. They'd never get anything released.

Bonjour Service Keeps Getting Disabled

Ever morning when I return to my office computer and attempt to launch iTunes, I get an error message saying that the Bonjour service has been disabled. I have to manually re-enable it in services.msc. iTunes runs fine all day, but when I come back the next morning, the Bonjour service has been disabled again.
This behavior started a couple of weeks ago while I was running iTunes 11, and has persisted since I upgraded to iTunes 12.
Running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

That's what happened. Asked our department's IT guy, and he said the higher ups recently decided to disable the Bonjour service from privacy and copyright reasons. Something about people being able to see other people's music libraries.
Guess I'll just have to do the manual restart every morning, or figure out a way to script it.

Screen resolution when PXE boot from WDS vs Install Windows 8.1 from USB

Hi all
I own a Lenovo ThinkPad T430s, X230 Tablet, and now have my hands on a T440. All three machines have UEFI Secure Boot enabled properly, i.e. Windows boot screen shows Lenovo logo instead of Windows logo.
However, if I do a PXE boot (using Windows Deployment Services from Windows Server 2012, not R2) and boot to the same boot.wim provided on a Windows 8.1 ISO image, the boot screen resolution turns crap, and the WinPE environment runs in 640x480. Also, as opposed
to the Lenovo logo showing on the boot screen, the Windows logo shows up instead, indicating it's not doing a secure boot?
When booting from a USB stick however, using the same Windows 8.1 boot.wim (copied from ISO), the screen resolution in Windows Setup is detected correctly, and the Lenovo logo shows up.
This occurs on all three machines since MDT was upgraded to MDT 2013 or when I replaced Windows 8 boot.wim with Windows 8.1 boot.wim (as the Windows ADK 8 --> ADK 8.1).
Is there a fix for this? Do others have the same problem elsewhere?

When boot UEFI-based computer from PXE you should take more into consideration.
For some computers, you might have to perform additional steps to make sure that Windows is installed in UEFI mode, and not in legacy BIOS-compatibility mode.
Some computers might support UEFI. However, they do not support a PXE-initiated boot when in UEFI mode.

Especially for “Pre-Deployment Considerations”
If you still cannot find a way to make it boot from UEFI mode, you should contact with manufacture to confirm if PXE-initiated boot is supported.

Update from itunes 9.1 to 9.2 fail, can't start bonjour service, window 7.

I am on windows 7
I try to update from itune 9.1 to 9.2 with the update tool.
When the install starts, after few steps, it trys to start the bonjour service and it fails.
How do I solve this problem?

Same problems here. Got an older itunes installed to activate my new iphone 3gs. Activated and updated the iphone's OS. After the update the iphone requires itunes 9.2 however.
Tried installing 9.2. Bonjour service cannot start, install rolls back.
(whenever i refer to bonjour "dying", i mean it cannot be started due to priviledges missing - i'm the admin lol - or service specific error 6 (0x6) in event viewer)
Uninstalled and reinstalled itunes/quicktime/bonjour several times. Got bonjour working again a few times. During 9.2 installation however, it always dies.
Tried the reloading thing (about 20 times), no go.
Tried installing Airport 5.5.1 for windows which supposedly has a better bonjour installation. Seemed to work for bonjour. However, upon installation of itunes 9.2 bonjour still dies and the install rolls back.
Tried registry changes to grant bonjour full permissions.
Tried giving the bonjour service itself administrator rights to see if i could manually start the service, no go (could not log on).
During all this i have also pilfered with windows firewall (setting exceptions or shutting it off completely), windows defender turned off, uninstalled AV and similar completely, used msconfig to make startups without anything but the itunes/quicktime/bonjour specifics, and still no go.
I'm at my wits end and tired of searching for a solution. Heeeelp!

Hi, I'm trying to re-install the latest iTunes on my Gateway w/ Windows XP. I had to update it a while back to put songs on my brother's iPod, but my computer froze halfway through and nothing has worked right since.
I keep getting the message "Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I looked through older discussions that told me to go to right click My Computer - Manage - Services and Applications - Services - Find Bonjour and restart it.
Well, the only option that I can click on is Start. When I do, it says "Windows could not restart the Bonjour Service service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."
Where do I go from here? Help would be greatly appreciated, I've been trying to fix this for over a year now with no dice. Also, I cannot do a factory reset (last effort) because it says the administor's account is disabled and I do not have the disc.

Sorry if double posting is a no-no here, but I forgot to add that I've already tried disabling Spyware Doctor.

I am unable to re-enable bonjour services to view my shared library on my PC from my Mac

I am unable to view my shared music library from my Mac on my PC (running Windows 7). When I check in the sharing preferences, it says "The Bonjour services has been disable. Bonjour is required to share music with others. Please re-enable the service to use this feature." Yet when I check the services in the system configuration, it says that Bonjour is enabled and running. I have also checked in the msconfig and it says Bonjour services are running. I have also performed a complete reinstall of iTunes and that did not help. I'm looking for a solution. Thanks.

Start and Stop a Windows Service From Java

Is there any way to start and stop a Windows service from Java? The only post I found on it (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=647509) had a link to one of the many aps that allow Java programs to be services, which is not what I am interested in doing.
I am attempting to get data from performance counters from the Windows Performance Monitor into a Java ap without using JNI. I can get the data from C++ or a .net language pretty easily and was going to create a service that would listen for socket requests and feed back the data. However, I'd like to start and stop that service when my java code starts and stops. Is this possible? Would it make more sense to just use a .exe and Runtime.exec()?

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
