Loading TXT documents in attachment list

Hi,
I have got a program that loads documents from a directory against the relevant PO so they appear in the attachment list when viewing the PO. My problem is for TXT documents when I try to open them they open with internal SAP editor rather than notepad. This would be okay but it does not open with correct alignment. Am I able to control what application is used to open the txt attachment and if so how?
your help would be much appreciated and I am happy to provide further details if required.

I should add that I'm using Eclipse , and as such my web service seems to be self contained in my workspace for Eclipse. The structure is
EclipseWorkspace -> myProject -> projectNamespace -> *.java
I thought I could place my *.txt files inside the namespace directory with my Java files. I have also tried placing the *.txt file in the project directory, still no luck.

client wants to restrict the attachment list changing, deletion after the user status sets to close in PS Claims for transaction clm2 and clm3.
Currently any one can attach documents as GOS and delete even the claim is completed and status is closed.
How can we restrict all users even who created the claim can not change create and delete attachment list documents once the claim is completed and approved and user status sets to closed.

what is the claim creation transaction in that 01 is for creation 02 is for edit and 03 for display so with the help of basis consultant you can assigned transaction in user's assigned role accordingly.
But user who is authorize for create claim can not modified or edit once he save the job. this would be limitation.

Arch.link doc.attribute is missing in GOS attachment list

Hi,
Currently the company that I work with is in implementing archive link to attach documents (e.g.
office document) to some object types (e.g. BUS2007,BUS1001). I have done the required configuration and the functionality is working fine.
However when I display the document in attachment list, the followings are not shown :
1.the title of document is not showing instead it shows the description of document type description (this is from customizing)
2.the creator name is blank
I compare with standard GOS file attachments, the above functionality are working fine.
Appreciate if anyone can help me on this.

GOS- Attachment List Inactive

Guys, looking for your help.
My issue is, we have a Custom Transaction for PR. We have implemented the GOS functionality for the screen.
We are able to attach documents and save the same to KPRO ( SAP Office).
Documents are fine and sitting pretty there.
Problem is when i leave the transaction and comeback again to the same document, the 'Attachment list' link in the GOS menu is grayed out. where in the attachments are saved in the Content repository.
Any solution to this issue would be highly appreciated.

You don't have to disable any addons or extentions!!!You guys are not going to believe this I figured out the problem it's really dumb...ok here goes the attachment uploader loads seperate so I got to thinking it's a popup so I went to options content and under block pop ups there is an option exceptions click on that and in the box type firefox.com and hit allow pow its fixed!!!!! :-)

Archive link : user defined document name in attachment list

I have created a content repository (OAC0), document type and had linked the doc n content rep with an SAP business object.
I am able to attach documents to business object using archive link feature.
If I attach more than one documents to an SAP business object, for same document type, all the documents are displayed with same name in the attachment list.
Is there any way by which I can show the original document name as selected by user?

Attachment list - Unable to open document

Hi all,
I archive TIF image of Account Payable documents via the BAPI Archiv_Create_Synchron_Meta which create attachments to the SAP documents.
When I go to the transaction code FB03, I open one of my documents and, in "Attachment list", I find my archive in the attachments.
But, when I double-click on it, an error message appears and says: "UNABLE TO OPEN DOCUMENT".
BUT I have also tried to attach DOC, XLS, PDF and I CAN open it easily!
I have one entry for each doc type in transaction OAC0.
What's the matter ?

In firefox go to Tools>Options>Applications. Find Portable document format (PDF), click the drop-down next to it and choose "Use Adobe Reader.

Function module to find the attachment list for an accounting document?

Is there a function module to find the attachment list for an accounting document? Or which table stores such references?
I know I can find this info from the transaction FB03, but is there a function module to find the attachments for an accounting document? So far I only found the attachments are stored in the table SOOD, and archived documents in table TOA03, but I can't find the table that stores the links between the accounting document and its attachments?

Indicator on task list and order which shown Document is attached ?

Hi,
I have attached a document in task list through PRT in task list succesfully. Is there a indicator in task list which tells that yes a document is attached to task list ?
Secondly is there a indicator in workorder which tells that yes a document is attached to this partcular task list ?

Not sure about header level but in operation one check box is available for PRT.
If PRT is attached to operation check box is automatically selected..
On header screen at bottom you can see PRT check box if it is attached to first operation.

List of document with attachment view

In FB03 Report, we can able to view all the document. but there is no option to see what are all the document have attachment created. can you suggest is it possible to see the list of document which is having attachment. or any other alternate solution.

We once had the same requirement and we developed the Z report for the same for OBJECT : BELEG ARCHIVE_HANDLE LOCAL_CAT . If you could go to FB03...Display the document...go to menu..extras...text...double click note and again go to menu ...goto...header ...Now go to SE37....FM: READ_TEXT..giving inputs you will get the info..Based on the same logic you can develop a Z report. I hope this will help you.

I have the httpservice call and a seperate Button Component for each document choice, but how do i then load the document ?

Document should be on the server at some www.baseaddress.com/WT_Intro.txt.
Assuming your XML is also on the server...
Make the call to load the XML, parse the XML and get the url for the text file.
Also Here you can read the names and pus them into an array list
arraycollection: {"Name":value};
For each url retrieved from the xml make a new call to the server and loat the
txt. On the response you should have the text. (It is better to make the calls
chained one after each other, since the response come back asynchronously, e.g
on the response of one call make another call...)
The names retrieved already can be passed as a dataProvider to a button bar
component.

Show originally filename in attachment list (generic object services)

Hello everybody,
does anybody know, if it is possible to show the originally filename of a document in the attachment list of generic object services?
If I add more than one document for the same document type in generic object services, I'm not able to distinguish the documents.
When I want to save an attachment to local PC, SAP offers me the originally filename as default. Therefore, the filename has to be saved somewhere...

Your using the wrong object, I don't have access to an SAP system right now, so I can't tell you what the correct object is, but when it's configured correctly in OAC3 it will not be grey out. Best thing to do it see what the object the program is publishing. This is what GOS is looking for. IFARCH21 is not the answer, unless your using workflow

Unable to open large PDF file from the Attachment list.

Hi Gurus,
Users had attached 10 PDF file in the work order attachment list and his supervisor is trying to open the PDF file from the work order attachment list and he is able to open 9 PDF files without any issue, but 1 PDF file is giving the error message as "Database error for <GET DATA FROM KPRO>" and then select ok, we are getting the below message.
Window cannot find u201CC/Documents and Settings/b2m/SaoworkDir/5015851 Vendor data sheets B&P 2010 SDown XXX .PDFu2019. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click serch.
Looks like this particular file is not transferring to the SAP work directory.
Could you please check and suggest us as to how to fix it.

We verified your OSS notes it's not relevant to us Because our issue is while opening the PDF aatchement it is not transferring to my SAP Work Directory because of that reason we are getting the KPRO error. When I'm opening the other PDF files it's transferring to my SAP Work Directory and it's automatically open without any issue.

I am creating the library using object model with custom content type. When i am opening document from custom content type, the meta data fields are not displaying in the document and throwing below error.

Document Information Panel cannot open a new form.
The form contains schema validation errors.
Content for element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/metadata/propertiesRoot}properties' is incomplete according to the DTD/Schema.
Expecting: {http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/metadata/properties}properties.
But after saving the document, then meta data is enabled.

Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest to do as follows:
1. Please try to update the Location column's schema by following the steps below.
1) Go to Site Settings -> "Site Columns"
2) Click on "Location", after the page is opened. Don't modify any settings, click "OK" to forcibly update the field's schema.
2. Re-edit the document information panel template to see if the issue still occurs.
Please go to the Library setting > click the corresponding content type(need to enable managed of content types in Advanced settings) > click Document Information Panel settings.

Disable 'Delete' button for posted invoices in GOS Attachment List

Hi,
when i open the attachement list of a generic object i see the attached files. In this dialog i want to disable the "Delete" ( attachment) button for Posted invoices ( In MIR4 tcode -> If the invoice is already posted it should not allow to delete the attachment )
I read oss notes and some ides of copying diverse classes but nothing really helps.
I found two badis
GOS_SRV_REQUEST
GOS_SRV_SELECT
but i dont know where we have to write our code .
I read so many posts related to attachments but all the places described about authoriztion object .
Can you please give some ideas to disable the delete button for posted invoices.

For GOS there is no SAP Standard authorization concept. The only way to
manage GOS authorizations is implementing it via custom code as
described in SAP Note: 491271.
Please have a look at the SAP notes:
491271 Authorizations for generic object services
701609 Authorizations for services: Final classes
For the use of S_OC_ROLE: this object states if a user is an office
administrator he can create, modify or delete every document, even
those created by other users. If the user is not an office admin, the
user is still able to create his own attachments.
Regarding to the issue, there is an role object S_GUI for upload.
To match your inquiry, pleaes find the user's role and active the
object S_GUI.
