"Low Memory Warning" and "fails to create a virtual machine"

From ide.conf, I learnt:
If you are getting the 'Low Memory Warning' Message Dialog while running JDeveloper, please increase the -Xmx value below from the default 768M to something greater, like 1024M or 1250M. If after increasing the value, JDeveloper is no longer starting up because it fails to create a virtual machine, then please reduce the modified -Xmx value.
However,
If I set it to a bigger value, say 512M, it fails to create a virtual machine.
If I set it to a smaller value, say 400M, it throws Low Memory Warning after a short while.
So I do not know how to do. Total physical memory of my box is 4G. Free physical user memory after starting jdev is 1.5G.

512M isn't bigger, the default (according to your reading) is 768M...
I just tried with JDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 (64-bit machine, but using 32-bit JVM) - works fine with 1024M - just to confirm that my changes are working, 5024M does give me "unable to create virtual machine"
Have you messed about with other settings?

    Hi experts,
after I installed the SP1 of Design Studio 1.2 I become the Message "Failed to create java virtual machine" and I´m not able to start the Design Studio.
    My java version is 1.7
My SapDesignStudio.ini File (C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Design Studio) looks like as follow:

    --launcher.library

    Any ideas or experiences?
    Many thanks and regards,
    Michael

    Hello Max,
many thanks for your reply and your in my case absolutely correct answer!
In respect to your solution proposal I have renamed my Analysis-workspace folder to "Analysis-workspace-V0"
After I have started the Design Studio 1.2 SP1 a new Analysis workspace folder was created with the typical standard name "Analysis-workspace"
So I have my old Design Studio Application and an new empty Analysis folder.
By the way, in my case in addition to the folder rename it was necessary to change the -Xmx Value (SapDesignStudio.ini File) a little bit lower as in standard (in the DS1.2 SP1 setting) 1024m. To become not the Message "Failed to create Java Virtual Machine" I have changed the -Xmx Value from 1024m to 512m.
Now I´m able to start the Design Studio 1.2 SP1 as expected without Message and without breaks down after 5-6 seconds during the startup.
    Thanks again!
    Best regards,
    Michael

  • Failed to create Java Virtual Machine

    Hi All,
I am facing Failed to create java virtual machine error in SAP Lumira 1.23 while opening it.
I need to uninstall it and install again whenever I want to use it. but this is not correct solution of it.
Please suggest the solution for this issue.

Good morning, Sheetal - We had the same problem. We have a number of Windows 7 32-bit PCs. I opened a message with SAP, and here is their guidance. If you look at Note 2124755, it will refer you to another note, Note 1951035. IN this note, it says you need to download the Java Access Bridge for Microsoft Operating System 2.01 from Oracle. The URL is in the Note 1951035. I downloaded the one for the manual installation. Then, once you have extracted the files from the ZIP file, here is where I placed them:
    Copy WindowsAccessBridge.dll to %WINDOWSHOME%\SYSTEM32
    Copy JavaAccessBridge.dll and JAWTAccessBridge.dll to
    C:\Program Files\SAP Lumira\Desktop\jre\bin
    Copy accessibility.properties to C:\Program Files\SAP Lumira\Desktop\jre\lib
    Copy access-bridge.jar and jaccess-1_2.jar, jaccess-1_3.jar and jaccess-1_4.jar to
    C:\Program Files\SAP Lumira\Desktop\jre\lib\ext
For good measure, I usually reboot the PC afterwards. Then you should no longer get the error message "Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine".
    I hope that helps!

  • Message "Failed to create Java Virtual Machine" while installing HANA Studio with SP08

Installing HANA Studio with SP08 but getting error as follows:
    HANA Version
    Errors:
    System Info : Win7(32 bit ), 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD

Not same case but related with Java: 32Bit VI Java Virtual Machine error
In this discussion Hanry Banks answers as follows:
    1.  Did you install using "Run As Administrator"?
    2. In your Advanced System Properties, Go to Environment Variables > System Variables
Look for the 'Path' variable. It should include the following values:  C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin
In the same area, look for the 'JAVA_HOME' variable. It should point to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
    - Can you confirm?
    3. Also go Control Panel > Java > Java Control Panel > Java tab > View > User > Path.  It should point to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe .
    - How does it look for you?
How much memory is available on your machine as you launch? Go to: Task manager > Performance > Physical Memory > Available (MB)

  • Low Memory Warnings / Video Failed To Compile

    Hey all,
I recently upgraded the RAM in my system from 8gb to 16gb. Around the same time, I moved my OS and certain files over to an SSD (probably not relevant, but better to provide the whole picture).
After performing the upgrades, my performance sped up in Premiere- hurray! Exactly what I wanted. That is, until I preview clips or render them. When I render, I tend to get a Low Memory Warning from Windows part way through the process, and then subsequently, a "Video Failed To Compiled" error. Sometimes the program crashes outright, my screen turns to black, or I have to restart my computer. This has only started recently since the RAM upgrades and moving my OS over to the SSD... and I'm feeling really disheartened about it.
The project I'm attempting to compile is about 1:30 long, isn't TOO effects heavy (four AE comps., Premiere Lumetri on every clip/sequence (in the main sequences), and running RedGiant Denoiser II on every clip).
Now, I've picked up on ONE thing that I may be doing that is unfavourable, though I don't believe it's the cause of the memory errors... My footage is currently stored on the SSD, as well as Premiere itself (along with all the CC programs), while my disk cache is assigned to a folder on my Seagate HDD.
    Specs for the PC are:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 (latest updates)
    Windows 7
    Intel Core i5 3570 3.40GHz 6M
    Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1333 CL9 RAM
    MSI HD7850 TwinFrozr 2GB GPU
    Asus P8Z77-V-LX MB
OS is running on a 250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD
Everything else is on a Seagate 1TB Barracude 7200RPM HDD

    Hello,
Thank you very much for the responses.
I am very sorry for my delay - the system had gotten to the point where it was restarting itself as soon as I logged in, so I could not try your suggestions.
This morning, I turned it on and tried Mattcoz's suggestion of closing and disabling RunSwUSB and so far, so good.  The system is running as it should and I have not had a single low memory warning.  If I start to get warnings again, I will come back and post a screenshot of my memory usage, but for now, the problem is solved.
Again, thank you both very much for your responses!

  • Low Memory Warning

I started a new app today and got the following message:
    Low Memory Warning
Air Harp has detected your device is
low on memory. If a problem occurs
    please restart your device.
No problem occurred. I think Stanza may have been using memory - I really don't know how to tell what's using memory.
How do I tell what needs to be shut down?

    Pharmer,
Looks to me as though you don't enough enough physical RAM to run as many processes as you currently are. 2GB of RAM is pretty low these days. Do me a favor and -- click Start -- Type
MSconfig in the search bar and press enter -- Click the
startup tab and see how many programs are checked to start on bootup. You can uncheck ones that you don't need running all the time. That should free up some memory to keep you going for a bit. But a permanent fix would be to increase your
    physical RAM.
EDIT: Switching to basic desktop will reduce the amount of RAM needed to run Windows, which is why you haven't gotten the problem since.

  • Low memory warning on my iPad (3rd gen)

I'm receiving a low memory warning on my iPad (3rd generation), but I can't find the RAM info anywhere under the Settings.  I always close my apps using the Home button, so nothing should be open except the app I'm using.  How can I see the RAM available, and what can I do about the low memory warning?

You may have many apps open. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Low Memory Warning. . . with lots of memory left?

I keep getting a Low Memory Warning on my iPad and I have to click on OK. However, I have over 22GB left. Is this a known problem? What is the issue? Are my apps (games/videos) staying "open" even after I click the home button and if so how do I "close" them?

Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions...
You can monitor "storage space" in the iTunes window.
Connect your iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes. Select your iPad under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window. Select the Summary tab.
You can see "Capacity" at the bottom of the iTunes window. If your iPad is telling you haven't enough space left try the suggestions here.

  • Sccm 2012 DP failed to create iis virtual directories

I am trying to install a branch server as Sccm 2012 DP.
I already installed around 15 branch servers without any problems.
The problem I have is that the branch server failed to create iis virtual directories.
In my console under Monitoring, component status It writes that Distribution Manager successfully installed iis component of operating system to distribution point ""
Next it writes error to send packages to that branch server.
The site server distmgr.log shows the error below:
Failed to start primary service wdsserver
Microsoft Sql Server Native Client 11.0 login failed for user "xxx"
Failed to connect to the sql server connection type : SMS ACCESS

Currently site xxx is initializing site control data. Cant get Master SCF from database at this time. will try later.
