Manual setting change on Tektronix 3014 Phosper Oscilloscope when it is control by Labview IVI driver. Is it possible?

In my labview test program, I would like to allow manual setting change on Oscilloscope like moving cursor position but other part is still controlled by IVI instrumental driver. Is this possible. I found the oscilloscope is locked once it is controlled by labview and don't allow any setting on the scope front panel unless I power off and then power on the scope.

There is a GPIB command called "Unlock" that will unlock the front panel (see page 2-32 of the programmers manual). You will need to send this using a Visa function call since it is not supported by IVI. Unlocking the front panel may cause problems if you are using IVI state caching because if settings are changed (other than cursors) the state cache will be out of synch with the actual settings. So, I suggest you disable state caching using MAX. This will degrade performance somewhat. I also suggest you lock the front panel again ("Lock" command) after the manual settings.

You can set the dimensions before using the rectangle tool in the
tool options bar (fixed size).
Or you can change the dimensions after, by using the move tool or Edit<Free Transform Path
and entering the dimensions in pixels (px) in the width and height boxes.

Network setup 'DHCP with manual address' changes to 'Using DHCP'

I have setup my local network with a manual address and have observed that the setting changes without my doing to simply Using DHCP. I can't get the setup to continue using a manually assigned ip address. Even though I've saved the network settings preferences, they revert to 'Using DHCP'. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you "have setup (your) local network with a manual address," does that mean you have disabled DHCP in your router? If so, then you'd want to configure "manually" in your Sys Prefs > Network.
Or did you mean that you have setup a computer on your local network with a manual address using DHCP? (And that your router has DHCP enabled?)
If the router's DHCP is enabled, many routers will allow you to set aside a subset of IP addresses to the DHCP pool, and the remainder are, by definition, reserved for static addressing. Are you assigning the computer requiring a static IPA (but using DHCP defined gateway and subnet) an address falling within the static address range of your local subnet?
If you can't partition the address space between static IP addresses and DHCP-assigned IP addresses when DHCP is enabled, are you assigning a high-numbered IP address to the computer whose Sys Prefs has DHCP with manual address?

Merge to HDR Pro asking (incorrectly?) to manually set EV

Hi,
I've got a large number of HDRI brackets for a time-lapse sequence, and while using Merge to HDR Pro in CC, some are merging to HDR automatically, while other bracket sets result in Photoshop asking me to manually set EV.
All of my images are TIFs, all have gone through an identical process of saving to TIF from Lightroom after being worked on with Lightroom and LRTimelapse, so one of these two programs could potentially be having an effect.
Normally I would assume that being asked to manually set EV means that metadata doesn't exist, however metadata appears to exist identically for both the brackets that work automatically, and also for those that don't. I've used my PLE version of Nuke to do a compare metadata, and all that changes is the shutter speeds as you'd expect for HDR, I can't see anything odd going on. What can I look at to try and determine the problem? What other causes might there be for images not automatically merging?

I have had that happen, but not for a long time, and I think it was Photomatix anyway. I'm pretty sure I'd exported TIFFs from Photoshop, but I can't remember how the EXIF was lost. As far as using three versions of the same exposure, from a high dynamic range point of view, that became increasingly irrelevant as ACR got better and better. You could still get a ‘look’ using apps like Photomatix on a single exposure, but I suspect even that has been superseded by all the Topaz and Nik type plugins available nowadays.
This is just about the last time I used an HDR app on a single exposure, and it was taken getting on seven years ago (blimey I feel old) !! Incidentally, it was very noisy, and there are a many hours worth of hand painting in it. I still like the picture though, and have it on a canvas print on the wall behind my monitors.

Job manually set to be cancelled

I noticed that a one jobs have failed in SM37 with the message job log:
Job status was manually set to 'cancelled' .
though it deleted corresponding PSAs', job manually set to be cancelled seems
I checked SM21 but i could not find any thing at the time when job failed.
Please suggest.

Hi,
I guess you get this error in Process chain.
If the process chain is removed from schedule, you will get this error and infopackage step will fail because of this.
This could happen if you manually stop the infopakage load by changing the status of Infopackage run to Red.
If any Datasource transports are moved to system during the Infopackage load, it could also cancel the job.
Also please check if you can see the user id in job log in SM37.

Manually set IP at home; DHCP at school

Hi,
I have a 802.11g network at home (using WPA,) which requires a manually set IP address. I can connect fine.
There is also a 802.11g network at school (unencrypted.) This network uses DHCP. I can connect fine to this one too.
But...
When I leave my home and go to school, my Macbook finds and "connects" to the school network automatically, but it does not attempt to get an IP. I have set up separate locations for home and school with the appropriate settings, but in order to force my Macbook to retrieve a new IP, I have to manually change locations in the System Preferences.
Is there any way to automate this process?

Because there is a reason I am using manually assigned IPs with my home network.
What's the reason?
If all you need is for your machine to have the same IP address every time, then you can still use DHCP, but use a static assignment. This would allow your computer to get the same IP, every time, without having the IP address manually assigned. It would also allow you to receive a proper IP address from any network you attach to with a DHCP server. There's nothing for you to reconfigure. Isn't that easier and simpler than manually assigned IP addressing and setting up multiple locations?
You have no basis for making this assumption. If you don't know the answer to a question, just say so. Don't tell me that my question is the wrong one.
I do have a basis for my assumption. I have years of networking experience and I often find that users overcomplicate their networking setups because they simply do not understand all of the options available to them.
Look, I'm just trying to help you out. I think you're making a mistake by setting up your network the way you are, and I'm offering an alternative option.
If you don't want to take my advice.. then don't. I don't mind and I won't take it personally.

Non-manual setting of parameters?

Do parameters within Crystal Reports 10 have to always be manually set? Or could something like a DB table or flat file be used to populate possible parameter values as the report is executed? Please direct me to a previous post if this has been asked before.

when you create the paramter you can select the table and field to use and they db values will be displayed, the only problem with this is if the change daily you have to update the parameter daily. if it is just a look up table it works well.

How can i enter my email settings manually ? bcz my emails needs more seeting to work.

Setting changed viewport

I have a JScrollPane with a JPanel inside. I zoom in on the panel by scaling the painted parts by 1/zoom and scale the size of the panel by zoom (zoom is 1, 2, 4, 8, 16). The actual zooming works fine. The problem comes when trying to zoom in on the correct part of the panel. At the moment I have,

Thanks for taking the time to answer this question. Knowing this isn't possible at least narrows my options down. It would be helpful to provide some kind of list of what comp settings carry over into AME from After Effects. Is it essentially everything that is enabled in the Timeline? (I know that motion blur settings do.)
I'll put this in a feature request, but yes, we need the other half of After Effects Render Queue in AME in order for AME to be a good replacement for rendering from AE. I'll give you my thoughts on why Render Settings are essential before you would actually want to render with AME instead of doing so because you have to (either because you want to render in the background, or need a codec that has been removed from AE.)
1. Speed: Simply applying a Render Settings preset is much faster than manually setting motion blur, frame blending, work area, etc.
2. Reliability: Not being able to apply a Render Settings preset at the time of render is a recipe for missing a crucial setting buried in a comp, then having to redo a render and wasting time.
3. Features: As noted above, there is no way to approximate Render Queue's ability to change resolutions at render, which results in a lot of wasted time when that feature is needed.
Render Settings I think are crucial to making AME rendering worthwhile for AE users:
1. Rendering resolution
2. Work Area/Entire Composition toggle
3. Field Rendering (wait, does this mean AME can't currently render to fields?)
4. And PRESET ability these settings, so I'm not doing them manually every time.
I realize that your team clearly doesn't spend the same amount of time I do making low res H264 previews and sending final files out in H264 format, so you don't appreciate the impact of the changes you made. Moving to AME for that stuff is a real inconvenience, but implementing the settings above could help soften the blow.

Did you check the Zoom setting?
Have you tried a reset (reboot)? Hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears.
If it isn't Zoom and a reboot doesn't help try Settings/General/Reset - Reset all settings

How do I Find/Set/Change a Bluetooth passkey on a T61 laptop with the Lenovo US/Eng Vista OS image?

I purchased a T61 two years ago. It came with the Lenovo Vista Ultimate OS, US/English. The T61 has Bluetooth, which I never used until now.
I try to pair a cell phone and a PDA (both Palm devices) with the T61, and the devices ask for the T61's Bluetooth Passkey. I don't know what the passkey value is, nor do I see anywhere to set, change or enter it.
This is how I know the the Bluetooth device driver is working on the T61: 1- The BT icon shows in the taskbar, the BT controt panels open, and even in Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Bluetooth Devices, the phone name shows up. And strangely enough, at the bottom of the control panel, when the phone is listed (is discoverable), it shows "Paired: Yes", "Authenticated: No", attached image shows these values.
I'm stumped. Where do I lookup, set or change the T61's Bluetooth passkey?

Unfortunately that is not working. I've tried 0000, 000000, 00000000, 1234, and 123456 as the keys. No popups, no response whatsoever on the T61.
The devices seem to wait some timeout period and then a message "cannot connect to T61...". I don't have the exact message here in front of me, but can get it if need be.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

How to restrict manual setting of User Status?

I have created an User Profile where a particular User Status is "set" based on the Business Transaction "Release".
However, we are also allowed to set this User Status manually without carrying out the Business Transaction "Release".
How do I restrict manual setting of those User Statuses that are "set" based on a Business Transaction?

I did read that post. But it is about providing authorisation to set a Status for an User.
The case I am referring is, an User Status is auto set by a Bus. Trans Release. But I am also permitted to set the status transition manually. This way, Users tend to skip Releasing the Service Order. This is affecting upstream processes.
Is there a way where we can restrict manual setting of User Statuses that have to be normally auto set by Bus. Transactions?

If I have manually set "Start Time" and "Stop Time" for songs, and my hard drive is backed up in Time Machine, when files/songs are transferred on new hard drive, will my "Start Time" "Stop Time" options be there?

My Macbook Pro will be going in for reimaging and my hard drive will be wiped, I want to know if all my iTunes preferences will be copied if I have backed them up on Time Machine. Specifically, if I have set certain "Start Time" and "Stop Time" for my songs, and I copy my iTunes library, will these "Start Time" and "Stop Time" options remain or will I have to manually set them one by one once again? I need a reply ASAP! Thanks so much!

As far as I'm aware the start & stop times are stored in the library database, not the media files. If you backup/restore/transfer the whole library then the settings are included. If you create a complete copy of your iTunes folder on another drive you can connect to that copy by holding down option/alt as you start iTunes so you can check that everything is working properly before you send the Macbook away.

Using these links, you should be able to determine which model you have.
Removing the battery causes all settings in the internal memory to be reset, just like resetting the PMU/CUDA. See Mac PRAM, NVRAM, CUDA/PMU & Battery Tutorial
