  • My iPhone 5c will not sync with iTunes when plugged in to my Macbook

i'm pretty frustrated. My iPhone will not sync to iTunes and transfer all the music i've downloaded to my iPhone. it does not even recognize that my iPhone exists on my macbook. I have updated my computer and iPhone. turned both devices on and off. unplugged my router and plugged back in. removed 3rd party anti-virus software (as others have mentioned that). i even took it tot he apple store to plug it in to their computers and their computers recognize it. what is wrong? HELP!

Does iTunes not recognize the iPhone is connected at all? Connecting it should result in the immediate appearance of this iPhone icon:
    Have you:
    Tried a different USB cable?
    Tried a different USB port?
Tried logging in with startup items disabled (hold a shift key while logging in)?

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.
    Next try:

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • HT1212 My ipod is disabled and is connected to my computer but will not connect with itunes

My ipod has been disabled and will not connect to Itunes

Are you still holding the home button when you plug it in or do you let go?
You want to make sure that you turn it off, hold the home button and plug it into the computer BUT do not let go of the home button. Keep holding the home button until you get the itunes symbol and the cable on the iPod.

  • My devices will not connect to iTunes over WiFi or over USB. No indication is given of connection

I was attempting to restore a 3rd generation iPod for a friend but the device would not connect to iTunes. I attempted to connect my 5th generation iPod touch but it would not connect either. I can see it is connected in the computers files but it does not appear on iTunes.

Is the Wi-Fi button greyed out?  Try this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
Also, make a backup to iTunes of the device.  Then restore it as a new device.  If you still have wi-fi greyed out, then contact Apple again, and explain that you believe you have a hardware issue.  They may still ask for a $19 deposit, but if it is actually hardware related, then you won't be charged the $19.  Only if it is software related do you get charged that $19.

  • My iphone4 will not sync with itunes. when it does sync on my computer it brings up pictures only and no music. My iphone says sync to computer but there is no way to do that. I uninstalled itunes and it didn't do any good. what can i  do?

My iphone4 will not sync to music. IT will sync to pictures. I uninstalled itunes and put it back in but nothing. Also, itunes does not come up when i plug my phone into the computer. I have to click on itunes for it to come up. I am not sure what to do. Thanks Melani

You say your phone will not sync but then you say, "when it does sync."
Does it sync or not? Did you remember to select music to sync onto your phone before clicking on Apply or Sync?
You do have to have iTunes on your computer in order to sync your phone. And your music must be in iTunes.

  • Remote 2.0 will not connect with iTunes

I have been trying to resolve this issue for many days and I can't find a solution that works anywhere.
I have a PC running vista and iTunes 10 on a wireless home network. Remote 2.0 is on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1. I can't get iTunes to recognize that the remote app is running. When Remote shows the four digit passcode to enter - the remote will not show up in iTunes. I managed to connect the two once - but when I tried to repeat the connection immediately afterward it didn't work.
-I have the Apple remote ports open through the firewall (disabling the McAffee firewall doesn't change anything anyway)
-The devices ARE on the same network (I can connect to Air Sharing via windows explorer)
-iTunes is checked to "look for remotes"
-It doesn't matter whether I try to connect using Home Sharing or not
-I have tried to "Forget all remotes/connections" in iTunes and the iPhone.
Any ideas as to what is going on? I know it can work because it did once - but only once.
