Need help to fully remove QuickOffice 6
N97 cames with QuickOffice v4 that proposes a free upgrade to v6 ( MS Office 2007 viewer ).
After download and install it ( by the way that is another C: Phone-only application ) my C: drive decreased 15 MB !! despite "Installation Manager" indicates the product should takes "only" 4 MB.
So, I removed it but even after removal, 7 MB remains "lost" on C: drive that I can not find even with Y-Browser.
I know the download is there because if I ask to re-install the v6 upgrade, the download is not necessary anymore.
So, to avoid a hard-reset ( and not touch in this upgrade anymore ), anyone knows where this download (or anything else like these "lost" 7 MB from QuickOffice upgrade ) is ?

Free-traps ... that is a good statement.
Remove an application is not the problem ( I'm using Application Manager for that ).
The problem is the "left behind" or "lost" files, that complicates the live with the ones stuck on small C: Phone drive.
These programmers could "left behind" or "lost" files in 32 GB E: Mass drive as much they want, but on C: Phone ... by the way they should not even be allowed there ( on C: Phone ).
Just to double-check the problem is real, I re-installed QuickOffice v6 and removed it and now it's 10 MB that are "lost" ( not 7 MB as previously ).
So, you are right ... here I go for my 2nd hard-reset, but this time I will not step into free-traps ... I liked that !
I think it's not only free applications that need improvement on smartphones. Even the paid ones need that.

I need help finding and removing an adware?
Hi everyone,
So i'll try and explain this as best i can. I've got some kind of adware/spyware playing havok with my web browsers. I found and removed the TERRIBLE spigot extensions in google chrome but theres something unwanted that remains.
Whatever is still in there has a few signs of its existence, none of which lead me to searchable queries online. The first sign is a bunch of youtube adverts that appear when i watch a video. The advert has at the bottom of the screen " ads by cm movies". It also has an "i" information button which when you click sends you to a very non specific (generic/madeup) website which apparently allows you to opt out of the ads but wont actually allow it.
It also strangles my internet. Pages take ages to load, or quite often the loading icon will come up and the cooling fans? Will ramp up to full and i have to turn the computer off by using the button. I've tried searching the net for answers but no luck. I've looked at my extensions for chrome and safari. I've looked at my activity monitor for suspicious programs.
Im on a 27" imac, osx 10.9.2 (does this exist as theres only 7.0 options below).
Any help would be great.

Steve.1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) on the advice of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Traverse the tree t until elementToRemove is found. Use curr and prev to find the element
leaving curr referring the node you want to remove. It may be the case that curr is null indicating
that elementToRemove was not found. Now there are four cases to consider :
Case 1: Not found

Case 2: The root is to be removed, but it has no left child.
root = root's right subtree (assuming root refers the the root node in your BST)
Case 3: The node is further down tree with no left child. Now must adjust one of the parent's links

move parent's left link down to down to curr's right child

curr is on the right side of prev, so move parent's right down to down to curr's right child
Case 4: curr has a left child.
We can no longer ignore the left subtree. So find the maximum in the left subtree and
move that object to the node referenced by curr . Then eliminate the maximum in the
left subtree, which is now being reference from the original node to remove.
however for case 3 and 4 it doesn't work, can someone please tell me why? I don't know where I made a mistake and I tried finding it but I still dont knowI am sorry about the double post. I'll try not to do this again. My problem here seems to be that prev and curr aren't updating the BST outside this method, which means that it only changes locally but not permanently. Need Help: Trying to remove last shapes from canvas
I'm trying to move the last shapes from canvas using jButton. when i click on button it doesnt do anything but when i click on that shape it does remove it...can anyone please help me here .. i dont see anythign wrong with it..but may be you guys can

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Some time ago I installed a gadget (doesn't seem to be an item in my Applications folder) which, when I mouse-over the lower-left corner of my screen, brings up a screen showing reduced-size versions of all open application windows and Finder windows. I've tried to identify what it is, and where it is located, so I can remove it, but to no avail.

Hello. I'm getting started on a project here to implement a recursive remove method that will remove any number from a list. I was given a test that the method must pass, but I'm having some trouble getting started. This is my second interaction with the idea of recursion and it's a bit difficult for me.

should be able to open the image from clipboard window but it is not high lighted to do so. What am I doing wrong???Open your image

Need help. I am running a 27 in imac with 16 gigs of ram. Photoshop runs really fast, except when opening files. It takes 5-10 minutes to open even a small file of 1 meg. I cleaned and validated all the fonts and removed all questionable fonts. Reset preferences and still have problem. Slow to open and in force quit "Photoshop not responding" At this point should I uninstall and start over.
What are the performance Preferences?

Need some help with a remove function
Design and code a program that will maintain a list of product names. Use a String type to represent the product name and an array of strings to implement the list. Your program must implement the following methods:
Add a product to the list
Remove a product from the list
Display then entire list
Find out if a particular product is on the list.
You need to create a command command loop with a menu() function. The program must continue asking for input until the user stops.

By the way, you can't remove anything from an array. You'll have to copy the remaining stuff into a new one, or maybe maintain a list of "empty" slots. Or null the slots and handle that. The first way will be the easiest though. -
I need help removing a background from a picture. My boss wants some t-shirts made but the only image I have is one with a tie-dye background and I need it to just be the black and white that is on the image. I have been trying for 2 weeks to do this and I can get real close but it leaves the colors around the edges and I need this gone. Any ideas? Anyone that can help me out? I have the original photo and the one with almost everything removed if someone can help me fine tune the rest that would be great.
You've done all the hard work and are almost there!
Starting with your b/w rendition, duplicate the background layer, and shut off the visibility of the background layer. Work on background copy layer
Go to Enhance menu>convert to black and white>vivid landscape style
Open a blank layer between the background and background copy layers and fill this layer with white
Make the background copy layer active and use the eraser tool to clean up a few smudges on the background copy layer
Open a blank layer at the top of the stack, and press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+E to create a stamp visible layer
With the rectangular marquee tool, make a rectangular block selection of "DRIVE-IN THEATRE" and place this on its own layer (CTRL+J). Make the blending mode multiply, then duplicate this layer 3-4 times.
For the text on the bottom, suggest that you erase this and replace the information with the type tool.
