Newbie here : Huge Problem

I am having a huge problem with my motherboard(well I think). Whenever I start my computer, the motherboard just beeps, I get no display, it does not go to the bias, I cannot get it to do anything. I have tested the other parts and they all seem fine, I just can't figure out whats wrong. Could it be that it has burned out?? Thanks for any help, my specs r in my sig.

Do they have their show on the internet? The iTunes Help document says,
"If you know the Internet address (URL) of an MP3 streaming broadcast, you can connect to it using iTunes.
Choose Advanced > Open Stream.
Enter the full URL of the file you want to listen to. For example, http://www.apple.com/itunes/sample.mp3."

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Anyone get a huge "Problem Report for iDVD" with hundreds of lines of information?

Anyone get a huge "Problem Report for iDVD" with hundreds of lines of information? This happens right before the DVD would be finished burning but instead crashes and leaves the long report your have to scroll down several times to read. I had to take several screen captures of the screen to get the WHOLE report. Here is two:

Some things to try first:
1. Disconnect any and all 3rd party devices that didn't ship with your mac directly from apple (both FW and USB included).
2. Restart your mac without any 3rd party devices attached whatsoever. That includes ext. hard drives, blue tooth devices, and any third party memory product/s. Basically, anything that doesn't come directly from apple has to go (at least while troubleshooting).
3. Need you to dispose of the plist for iDvd also. Go to you Home folder, the one that looks like a house > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iDvd.plist and drag and drop this file/s to the trash. Make sure to first quit iDvd prior to disposing of this pref. file/s.
4. Run apple's disc utility and repair permissions. Applicantions > Utilities > Disc Utility > Repair Permissions.
5. Restart your mac yet again, and try iDvd one more time.
6. If it's still at issue then please open iDvd from a separate user account and try your project one more time. If you don't know how to create a separate user account then just come on back and one of will show you how.

First of welcome to BT Community Forums, although your in the help with speed/connection issues section and bit-torrent is nothing to do with BT but i'll still try to help.
downloading a torrent file is one thing but just because you download does'nt mean you need to upload anything if for example your downloading something with say 100 seeders and 15 leechers then you may find that you dont upload anything or very little, thats nothing to worry about at all.
Or
If you've made a torrent and cant figure out why its not uploading it may be due to the fact you need to upload the small torrent file to a p2p site in order for others to see it.
Hope this small insight into the world of torrents helps, but i dont know what else to tell you on this subject.

Hi, a newbie here. I've been playing with java for six month now and it's been pretty fun. Looking forward to learn more about java from this forum. Now I have a question about this little project I've been doing.
I'm currently developing a multi-threaded client-server application (both client and server are multi-threaded). The idea is very easy which is to create threads that send http request to one server which will send back XML to the
corresponding thread.
I've managed to make it work. My application can now make http request and get the XML it's looking for. However, problem occurs when I try this scenario:
1. Client Thread 1 http request> server -> creates server thread 1
I made Server Thread 1 sleep for awhile so Client Thread 1 has to wait for the response.
Then, while Server Thread 1 is still on sleep, I make another http request:
2. Client Thread 2 http request> server -> creates server thread 2
I again Server Thread 2 sleep for awhile so Client Thread 2 has to wait for the response.
Now, Server Thread 1 wakes up and returns the XML response message. Now the funny thing is the Client Thread that accepts this response is not Client Thread 1, but Client Thread 2:
3. Server Thread 1 wakes up -- XML response --> Client Thread 2 reads the response instead of Client Thread 1.
What could be the problem!? What's also weird to me is that, if I try to do this scenario using a browser (by executing http request), the problem doesn't happen. Client Thread 1 returns to Server Thread 1 and Client Thread 2 returns to Server Thread 2.
The code I wrote consist of a thread objects which has it's own private UrlConnection, InputStream, OutputStream, etc.

I thought I had it right by having private inputStream for each thread. but the behavior looks like the inputStream is shared by the two threads. However, I'm still new with java so I know my conclusion worth zero. Has anybody ever bumped into this kind of problem? Looking forward to hear back what you guys think. Please use code tags ([code] and [/code]). It's also quite possible the problem is in your server code, or your test jig, etc. You should post a small example that replicates your problem.
Also, the while(listening) loop looks really screwy. I'm not sure what's going on there (why would you wrap your input stream inside a loop, especially since you close the input stream in the loop)?

I have a huge problem with memory usage.

I am having two very huge problems with the amount of memory the game I'm working on is using. The first is that the background image for a part of my game takes up ~45mb of memory, but believe it or not, that's not my worst problem. i'm not worried about that right now.
The really, really big problem does involve that image, though.
Whn I'm done using the image, I can't get the resources it uses to be freed. As a result, the program uses more and more memory every time you go into that area of the game, because the memory used by tha area is just sitting there.
I used Jprofiler to figure out exactly what wasn't getting released, because I do everything I know how to make everything be garbage collected, including setting all the references to the image to null after you leave that area of the game, but nothing worked.
After I leave the area with the huge memory leak and give everything time to garbage collect, the main screen for memory usage shows about 45mb of memory used by 20 or so instances of int[], which is obviously the image.
However, this obscenely huge int array doesn't show up in the heap snapshot, which according to them means there's no reference to it or the image anywhere in the program.
Here's my question: If there's no reference anywhere to this int array, then why isn't it being garbage collected?

Maybe you haven't actually released all references to that data.
Or if you have one 45mb image, maybe you have a bunch of other huge ones and you're just seeing those.
Why do you have a 45mb background image, though? Can't you use a standard technique like tiling it?

Pagemaker installation huge problem... Really need help

I´m here to find an solution to a problem that´s making me mad!
I still have to work with adobe pagemaker (I already starter do work with indesign though) cause i have old works of old clients that i have to open with.
But a few days ago i was trying to open a .pmd file in pagemaker and it won´t work.
So i trryed to open some other files and it did the same thing.
I had no solution and i tryed to reinstall pagemaker7 again, but here is the huge problem.
I uninstall it, and now i can install it again.I put the cd and click install and nothing happens.
I tryed to explore the cd folder to run the set up of pagemaker, and nothing happens too...
If there is someone that could help me i would apreceate...Im really needing it...:(

Help!!! Newbie here!

Alright. I have CS3 and am 'trying' to get used to it. I am trying to do a vintage effect and of course this takes many steps. One of the steps (almost one of the lasts) is to go to Filter>Distort>Lens Correction AND then from there, use the Vignette Slider, etc...
Well, Under MY Filter, there is NO distort, there was in my CS2, so I dunno what the deal is. I used the Help Search and it found the distort under the Edit>Transform>Distort. BUT, the distort is greyed out! I have tried everything. It IS in 8 bit, I've even tried 16 bit... NOT working. The only time distort even comes up is if I go to another 'blank' layer... and of course, I can't do anything with it! :(
so, what do i need to do to get the distort working... it's there, but it's greyed out. Please help. And I don't know if this will give my email or not, please feel free to email me also with your help! :D thanks!

Huge problem activating BIS

hi everyone.
I just bought a brand new unlocked Torch 9800 from a small online shop in my country ( Romania), and i now have a huge problem. I bought prepay card from my carrier ( Orange), activated the BIS option and a data option, then i proceeded with registering the device. First of all, I tried to registed the device on the network, no luck, no message came back telling me that registration was fine, as it should have. Then i went to the blackberry.orange.ro website in order to create the account from there, i get a message telling me that my BIS account is suspended or deactivated.... I called Orange and they said there is nothing wrong on their side, all configuration is ok there and they cannot help me, so i rather contact RIM. The seller doesn't want to exchange my phone, since there is nothing worng with it in his oppinion...
I can't explain myself how a brand new phone can have this problem...
I was wondering if anybody can help me with tracking down my torch ( will provide pin and imei on private message), and tell me if there is something really wrong with my device or it's just an unfortunate mix up...

The BIS account is not a function of your SIM. Rather, it is a function of your BB PIN, which is unique in the world. Only one BIS account can exist anywhere in the world for one BB PIN. So, for instance, if the BIS account is still active on another carrier, your carrier will not be able to create a BIS account for your BB until the old carrier releases the PIN from their BIS system.

That worries me the most...that usually only happens when something is amiss with the device. Stolen, lost, or otherwise something wrong. And, in that state, no carrier in the world will be able to create a BIS account for that BB. You will have to track down why it is in that state and get it cleared up...if that's even possible. The seller certainly should work with you here...if they represented a device that was capable of doing what you are attempting, then they misrepresented. But, as always, buyer beware...
BTW - you have no free method to directly contact RIM for any support. All support starts with the carriers and authorized resellers. Since you didn't purchase you BB through your carrier, they may or may not be willing to escalate your case into RIM for assistance...you will have to plead your case with them.
There is a fee-based method for you to get support direct from RIM...but even the initial contact costs you money. You can investigate that here:

Newbie Here - Constant Crashing & Can't Load Files CS5.5

A complete newbie here....I have started a project, imported clips, everything works great. I edit my sequence, I've got a create basic edited video. I save the project. That was a great days work....
Now everytime I re-open a project, it sits there loading for what feels like eternity. The video never loads into the "program" viewing area, but I can see the clips and a thumbnail of the clips in the Sequence section below.
And then it crashes while trying to play the program, most of the time.
If it doesn't crash it's simply choppy and I cannot play the program still.
However, if I start from sratch, new project, load clips in, everything plays smoothly so I don't believe it is my hardware that's causing the problem. I'm getting tired of re-editing the same clips over and over.
Suggestions?

Huge problem using apple mail while sending email to a group...

Hey - I am quite confused... apple mail has huge problems using groups with about 150 addresses when writing and sending an email... the writing of emails is nearly impossible. Once the group name is inserted in the addressline (address book in iCloud!), apple mail uses nearly 100% CPU and further writing is nearly impossible. When sending such an email, all addresses are suddenly visible - though the box is NOT checked and the addresses should be hidden... what can I do? I use this feature (sending mails to groups) on a daily basis and cannot accept visible addresses...

How about next time you send to the group, cc yourself, or include yourself in the group. Then receive the email on the iphone, you can "reply all" in order to send to the group. If you use an imap account, you can make a new folder, call it something like "groups", and save different group emails there for the next time you need to "reply all".

I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.

Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

I've been using my Macbook Pro (Intel) a lot lately and would like to back it up from time to time as well.
Can I simply attach the external hard drive to my Macbook Pro and set up Time Machine?
Can use the external hard drive for both machines?
Will Time Machine recognized that my Macbook Pro is a separate computer and set up a separate folder on the external hard drive automatically?

you can use the drive for as many Macs as you like, just make sure it's big enough. Time Machine will create separate folders for your Macs and will "know" which one you're using.
