Open pdf files using AutoVue

I need to open pdf files using AutoVue in .Net Desktop application(Windows Form ). Is it possible?
If it is possible please help me to.
Thanks
Bimal

Out of the box no
Doing it requires a good knowledge of .Net and JAVA (specifically JNI) in order to build a JAVA wrapper for .Net
I would recommend to google on how you can interact with a java applet inside an IEFRame that is sitting inside a .Net application

But your are on your own there

  • Open pdf file using ms access visual basic 2000 (9.0.2720)

    I'm using Acrobat reader to open pdf file using a vb proceedure , how ever I can't get it to open a specific file thats in another file folder.
    The code I'm using looks like the following: This is windows 7, using the (x86) virtual in 32 bit mode.
    Private Sub Form_Click()
    'checks for valid msds document
    Dim fs As FileSearch
    Dim stAppName As String
    Dim i As Integer
    On Error GoTo Err_form_Click
    Set fs = Application.FileSearch
    With fs
                 .NewSearch
                .LookIn = "c:\program files (x86)\cvmm\msds\"
                .FileName = Me![MSDS Index #] & ".pdf"
                .MatchTextExactly = True
    If .Execute() <> 0 Then
                        stAppName = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe c:\program files(x86)\cvmm\msds\" & Me![MSDS Index #] & ".pdf"
                          Call Shell(stAppName, 1)
               End If
                     End With
    exit sub
    Err_form_Click:
        MsgBox Err.Description
             Resume Exit_form_Click
    Exit_form_Click:
            MsgBox " no file found."
    End Sub
    This used to work when I was using acrobat 5.0,

    You should have quotes around a filename that has spaces in it. Older versions were more forgiving for some reason.
    Much better anyway is to use ShellExecute, which means you don't have to know or care what PDF reading software is installed and how to run it.

  • Error opening PDF file, using Windows Vista

    When I first purchased my new pc, regrettably, I was given Windows Vista. There have been a lot of problems. Of late, Adobe Reader gives me an error message when I try to open a downloaded file. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader but with no success. Could this be a Vista security issue? I can download and read the file on my work computer which used Windows XP. Also, this problem getting an error message opening and reading a file just recently occurred. I haven't made any changes to my system except automatic program updates. Can you help me?

    I stumbled on a solution: Download the PDF file and instead of saying yes to open the file (because you know you'll get the error message), simply go to where you saved the file (i.e. AOL downloads) and open it there. I have no idea why I suddenly cannot open PDF files but at least I found a way to still get my information. Hope this helps.

  • Cannot open pdf files using optonline email

    PDF attachments to optonline emails do not open. It was possible at one time to open PDF files by right double clicking the file bar and selecting "reload page" but that no longer works.

    Hi FRANKIMOSSI,
    Have you checked to see if your PDF add-on is up to date? I'd take a look at [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]. There is a lot of information in there and it lists a couple of different PDF add-ons. I'd try both to see if it is localized to just one.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Can't open pdf files using lion

    Hi!
    I really hoping someone can help me here. I can't seem to open PDF files. I get the spinning beachball for a while then the screen freezes.
    Is there a workaround for this?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Dave

    Choose one of the pdfs and Get Info "cmd-i". Is it set to Open With "Priview"? If not choose preview then Change All.
    If that's not it create a new User go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the apps in this new account, if they work the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide. Also put some pdf files in Shared folder, so you'll have some to test in the new account.
    If the issue is limited to your user account try starting up in Safe Mode  (It will take more time to startup because it runs a directory check.)
    If your apps functions correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test.
    If the issue is systemwide then, you may be able to repair by booting cmd-r to your recovery Volume and re-installing Lion. This will be an "install in place" and shouldn't effect your data and settings.

  • Opening PDF files using preview on some PDF file result in the content not displaying properly. The file I tried to look at has pictures and text. The pictures are displayed ok but the text is shown as pixalated boxes. The same file opens ok via a PC.

    Solutions please. Accessing PDF files online using preview normally works ok. However there are a clutch of files on the mothers union web site that although can be opened, present text as pixalated boxes. The pictures contained in the documents are however displayed OK. I experience the same problem on my Imac and my wifes laptop that runs Lion. The same site has other PDF files that can be opend OK. If I access the same problem files using a PC laptop running microsoft windows, they are opened OK with the text displayed as it should be. This is driving me mad....

    The offending PDF files were created using word
    Yes. Word 2007. (You can see it in Preview if you do ⌘I or choose Tools > Show Inspector.) And it's the transparency issue. The three pics attached show the Jan 2012 newsletter (a) in Preview, (b) in Acrobat Pro, (c) again in Preview, after I saved it in Acrobat, flattening the transparency.
    For you, the solution is to use Adobe Reader -- with due note taken of
    <http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-01.html>
    For them, I don't know. Presumably, they wish max compatibility for their newsletter, but I really don't know how Office 2007 generates PDF. Maybe they should check transparency settings and flatten before generating PDF? Or perhaps save as PDF v1.4 instead of PDF v1.5? I would use Distiller, but perhaps they can't afford it.

  • Unable to open pdf file using version 9.5.0 and 10.1.2 / Windows 7 HE / IE 9.0

    My issue is very similar to Elaina920.
    I have Adobe Reader version 9.5.0, running on Windows 7 Home Edition, using IE 9.0.5.  When I attempt to open a pdf document from a secure site, a new window opens, but nothing happens....just a blank (white) screen.
    When I try to do the same thing using IE 9.0 64-bit edition, a new window opens and I get a "Do you want to save...." dialog box.  But when I click on Save or Save As and attempt to save it as a .pdf file, I get a "[file name] couldn't be downloaded" message.
    Things I've already tried:
    - IE / Tools/ Internet Options / Security / Custom Level / Downloads / File Download is enabled
    - IE / Tools/ Internet Options / Programs / Manage Add-Ons / Adobe PDF Link Helper is enabled
    - Checked for Adobe update and got "No Updates Available" message
    - Ran Repair Adobe Reader Installation and re-started PC
    - Upgraded to version 10.1.2 and applied patch program  ==> no change in how the program works
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Ed.

    When using a 32-bit browser, the PDF document should open in the browser (using the Adobe Reader add-on).
    When using a 64-bit browser, it will ask you if you want to save the document, or open in Adobe Reader.
    If neither of these methods work, then it is the website that does not let you download the document (for whatever reason, e.g. server overload).
    Try if you can open this document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_10.1.2.pdf

  • Why can I not open PDF files using adobe reader in firefox?

    When I try to read a PDF file with adobe reader the file looks like it starts to load, I see in the tool bar the page count but the file never opens.

    You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
    You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
    You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu.
    See also:
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them
    Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved
    The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
    You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
    The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

  • Unable to open pdf files using Internet Explorer and Adobe 9.1

    We are unable to open any/all pdf files in Internet Explorer 6 or 7 using Adobe Reader 9.1 on Windows XP SP2.
    The error message is that IE has a problem and sorry for the inconvenience.
    Clicking "OK" closes IE.
    We did not have any issue with Adobe Reader 8.1.
    What we did to date:
    1. Uninstall Adobe Reader 9.1
    2. Run Windows Clean Utility to remove any remnant of Adobe Reader 8
    3. Re-install Adobe Reader 9.1
    Any other suggestions?
    Need to have this upgrade.

    I'm having a similar issue. Prior to upgrading to Acrobat 9.1 I was able to view PDFs from IE 6. No longer. Instead I get a message: "Error opening document. File cannot be found."
    Help?

  • Strange Behaviour when opening pdf files using search results

    Hi
    I have observed inconsistencies between opening a pdf file when in the document library itself (it opens in a browser - good).
    However, when I click on a the same file in my search results having used Search and the Search Centre it opens in the adobe reader.  I would rather it opened in a browser rather than the adobe reader.
    The only difference I can see is that when opening from a document library the url ends in ".pdf", whereas when opening from the search results the url ends in ".pdf#search=<search string>.
    Anybody any ideas ?

    Nigel
    Nigel Price NJPEnterprises

    Hi Nigel,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open pdf from search result in browser.
    Firstly , permissive Browser File Handing in Central Administration, you can refer to the link:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/18858.sharepoint-2013-how-to-view-pdf-files-in-browsers.aspx
    Whether you are using OWA for SharePoint 2013. If Office Web Apps is not used for Search results of PDFs, the opening of PDFs in the browser passes the search terms into Adobe. So, if you don’t use OWA, please configure it for SharePoint 2013.
    More information, please refer to:

    I hope this helps.

  • Opening pdf files using ' Preview '

    To whom it may concern,
    I would be extremely grateful if anybody could assist me with my inquiry. The vast majority of pdf files that I open using the 'Preview' software do not seem to fit the whole window. In other terms, i am looking for a solution to have the pdf page displayed entirely in my window. I am honestly tired of constantly having to scroll down in order to see the last line or two.
    Kind regards.

    Also, check in Preview Preferences that you have "Scale large images to fit windows" check marked.

  • How to open pdf file using flash

    i have problem with this file pdf file opens in flash it was working but  pdf file was open in same browser can i open it sapropte browser window i am learner in coding so please guide me.
    using this code.
    on(release){
        getURL("file://e:/SBI updated/New Kcc Sheme 2012/common/pdf/KCC New Documents ANNX.pdf");

    I have no idea what "sapropte" means, nor does Google translate.  If by chance you mean you want to open a new browser window then specify the window argument (look up the getURL function for other options)
    getURL("file://e:/SBI updated/New Kcc Sheme 2012/common/pdf/KCC New Documents ANNX.pdf", "_blank");
    If the problem is that the file does not open when you test on a server it might be because you are targeting a folder on the computer instead of on the server.
