Portal Favorites when using Application Integration

We have implemented application integration for BW for rendering reports and display in portal. We have BI Java portal where the reports run and user portal where the rendered report gets diplayed. This has been achieved through Application Integration for BI Java.
When the user saves the report, its getting saved on BI Java Portal Favorites. So the user is not able to see it. To resolve this we have followed the below steps:
1. Created a remote iView in user portal which points to the Portal Favorites iView in BI Java portal -- using this we are able to see the user saved favorites in user portal
2. Renamed the BEx Web(ID:bex) iView in user portal and created a remote bex iView which points to the BEx Web iView in BI Java portal - When I preview it, it displays the prototype properly
Now when I click on the favorite links, those reports were not running. Only the bex prototype page is coming up.
When a report is saved its bookmarkId is saved on KM user account in BI Java portal. From there I took the bookmarkId and added to 'application parameters' property value for bex remote iView in user portal. This made the report to run on BI Java and render the report on user portal. But when I click on the favorites link in user portal, it is not running the report.
Does someone has any suggestion on this.

I was able to resolve this by creating a remote iView in user portal for the Portal Favorites iView from BI Java portal. And the remote iView created for the bex, we changed one iView property ‘Parameters Forwarded to Remote Application’ to ‘*’ which resolved the issue.

yes it is ,Lotus Quickr is a DMS(document management system) which sits on Lotus Domino server.
i have done integrating Lotus quickr to ep 7,using application integration,
what i have done:
1)uploaded par file,
2)ceated system template,
3)created system using template,
4)then iview using par,
5)done usermapping
in iview in the property

finally page is displayed without user logedin, when i tried to login with this page with valid username and password same page is displayed .but when i tried with invalid username and password it is saying invalid username and password.
also as u said "Best way would be to configure Quickr to user Kerberos authentication" if possible send me the step by step guide for this.

Well heres my story. I tried kde4 from extra the last 3 weeks and I like it. I have used xfce for the past 3 years, previous to that gnome. Tried kde but never really liked it. Now I am only using workspace, base, mutimedia and graphics.
Here is what I like.
1- Dolphin, awesome I have used thunar a while and it is great but I love splitview, and fish for ssh (which has been around a while I know), and the ability to mount other partitions on my hdd with a click no fstab entry or nothin'.
2-Pretty, I've used xfce with built in compositor an love the snappiness. But I like desktop grid with kde4 and flipswitch. Compiz-fusion is cool but I prefer not to use I'll take what the DE gives. Plasmoid are cool too.
3- Gwenview is nice too. Use to use gqview, but thumnails are nice.
Looking forward to or lacking
1- Keyboard shortcuts, Yes xbindkeys is there but if I have a DE I want it to do it. They just don't work now.
2- kde4 has windows specific settings, but I can't set the opacity for particular windows , doesn't work.
3- Ram of course is much higher in kde4, but maybe I'm getting old I just don't care as much.

N8 : ractivate help when using applications

N8 can show help (clue) when using application. I have de-activated by mistake but i can't find how to reactivate it. Do you know how ?

How to use Application Integrator (AI) in EP 710?

Hi,
first you need to check out in your system whether you have a par name com.sap.portal.howtos.webapp is available or not in you system templates.
if it is not their then you need to upload it.
to upload follow the steps
goto system administration -> support -> portal runtime -> administration console
-> browse throught the contents and fine your par file and press upload.
after uploading go back to system administration -> system configuration -> system landscape -> portal content
here you can create your own folder or right click on portal content directly to create system
when you right click on folder or portal directly you will get three option,
system from template, system from par and folder.
you need to choose system from par and after choosing in portal content you find
par files selction screen here you need to goto the par com.sap.portal.howtos.webapp -> webapplication which you imported or uploaded to your portal earlier.
and then in new screen you need to enter the required fields such as name and id.
after this save it and close the editor.
then again got your system you created and right click on it and open object.
here you set the object property in navigation as object is a template to yes.
by setting this property you are making the system available on the template selection ie,.
select system from template.
you create another system using this system.
here you have three steps to perform
a) connection properties
b) user management
c) system alias
in connection property here you need to set the url, http(s), and server name.
since you are using sap logon ticket you need to select in user management property to UIDPW and since you are giving authorization to both user as well as end user you need to select admin,user.
then for the system you need to select system alias, so that the end user can map with the system by choosing the alias you set. to set alias goto property editor and choose system alias and enter the name you want and press add.
Now you goto user administrator and choose your user and select him and press modify and choose mapping tab and select the alias name you entered and and enter the mapped user id and mapped password.
after mapping check the connection it should succeed.
then create an iview to verify whether the iview created by this par is working fine or not.

SSO to Web App using Application Integrator - not working (SP15)

I have created a web app system and generic app integrator iview for my web application (and set up user mapping etc.), following the Application Integrator how-to guide but it does not log me into my web application. I have got the Yahoo example working, and if I use a HTTP System & URL iview for my web application, that also works. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be, or where I should start looking?
If I use a http sniffer, I can see the correct URL and parameters in the following:

Bit of a weird one: I've found a way to make it work but I'm not sure exactly how... the problem was that the portal was opening my web app URL in an iFrame (which can be seen from the code above). I tested this by just creating a html page with the URL + parameters in an iframe, and it wouldn't log me in (and took over the whole browser). So I guess the problem is with my web app rather than the portal.
However... I then discovered that if I add my web app address to the Local Intranet security zone in my browser (IE6) settings (before it was in the Trusted Sites zone), it no longer minded being in an iFrame, my test html page worked and so does the portal iview. I cannot find which security setting is causing this - I've tried changing the Trusted Sites to match the Intranet zone settings exactly, but it still doesn't work if my web app address is Trusted opposed to Intranet.
If anyone has any idea what is causing this behaviour, I'd be very grateful - obviously it isn't a portal issue but I'd still like to find out the cause in case it comes up again in the future.

Portal framework when using bookmarks

Hi
When we use bookmarks to run reports, the portal framework does not show (the portal menu). It is only the BI template that is shown just like when you run a template from WAD. Is it possible to direct the user to the report with the portal framework around the WAD template when using bookmarks?

I do not want to create confusion but PFCG would not be helpful. If users want to run the report for different variables and different drilldowns. It would not be possible to keep record of their each bookmark and adding it to the Role.
Ravi: I did understand what your solution but How to do it is not clear to me.

Could you please elaborate on this one if you know how to do it. Per my understanding the Bookmark is saved in terms of Web template id.

Error when using Application Designer to logon

Good day experts,
I have just installed PeopleSoft 8.51 on the server, and have just configured the PSADMIN. When I tried to logon using Application Designer in 3-tier mode, I got an error as follows
"An error occurred on the application server within Tuxedo while returning the service GetCertificate. Cancel the current operation and retry. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator"
I have retraced my steps and it was installed as per the installation guide, and I cannot find any cases that address this issue.
Can someone shine some lights on this error?

I have solved this issue. What's happened was that I was using Oracle Tuxedo 11gR1 which is not supported by PT8.51. Uninstalled 11gR1 and installed 10gR3, and everything is working fine now.

SSO to Web App using Application Integrator - not working

Hi,
I've set up App Integrator for my web application, following the Yahoo example in the guide. My URL template is <System.protocol>://<System.server><System.uri>?<Authentication> and the fraction for user mapping is op=<MappedUser>&pwd=<MappedPassword>.
It doesn't log me in. Even if I change the URL template to the actual address of my web app and use a real user & password (rather than <Mapped..>), it still doesn't work.
I've got SSO to my web app working using a HTTP system and URL iview but I would really like to see the App Integrator working as well. Any ideas?

Can anyone please help with this? I installed a http sniffer so maybe I could see what was going on. My HTTP System simply goes to the URL with the parameters added as expected, but the app integrator one is a bit more complex - I can see the URL & parameters in this function:

ive downloaded some free applications on to my iphone lie (facebook, myspace, webmessenger) when actually usually the applications does that use the usage that i get monthly how does it work.

As Tamara mentioned, any application that involves access to the Internet to function (and all the applications you mentioned do require Internet access), you are using the phone carrier's data network.
Since I'm in the U.S. I'm not familiar with the data plans for the carrier in Australia. If your phone plan does not include unlimited data or it has a monthly limit before you are charge extra, your best option is to use WiFi instead of the cellular data network when you're using those applications. If you have WiFi enabled and you are connected to a trusted network (your own or a commercial WiFi hotspot), the iPhone will receive and send data via WiFi. Any data that travels over WiFi will not be reflected in your cellular data plan. Some commercial hotspots have their own charges to join their network, so check with the staff of the location providing the WiFi access for information on how to join their network and what charges may apply.

This article is all about setting up security on the web service. But, I just want to connect to the web service as a client using the proxy and the web service doesn't have any security set on it at this time.
I am getting a connection timeout, even when I set the syncMaxWaitTime in the domain.xml file on the app server to a higher number (although this doesn't seem to affect the time it takes for the debugger to return).

MBeanServer Error when using Application Server Connection

I am using Version 10.1.3.3.04157 of JDeveloper and Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0.
When I try to test my "Application Server Connection" the following error occurs:
"Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:6003/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Disconnected; nested exception is:

Disabling app_dfefault_island folder when using application log

Hello. Is there a way to OC4J use the exactly log path setted in orion-application.xml ? I mean, I edited orion-application.xml to something like

but when I start server, I have my log saved in C:/apps/MyOC4JInstance_default_island_1/myApp.log instead of C:/apps/myApp.log.

For XI r2, try turning off DEP. It could have something to do with XI r2 runtime not being compiled with the /NX switch
Try running the app pool in u201CClassicu201D mode rather than u201CIntegratedu201D mode for CR XI r2 or CR 2008.
If it is permissions, try running processmon to see where the access issue is occurring. ProcMon can be downloaded from here:

Pinwheel when using applications

I have recently installed 6 Mac Mini's in our offices and I'm having trouble with one of them. It doesn't wake properly after idle or sleep. I can't use any applications. I've had it evaluated at my local Apple Store and they kept it for days and couldn't figure out the problem. I had them uninstall and reinstall the OS (which is Mavericks) and picked it up today. Within the first 2 hours of use; I experienced the never-ending rainbow pinwheel while using Numbers. This is the first time the computer stopped working while in use. There was nothing I could do except for a hard shutdown (holding power button in on mini). The Apple Store is giving me a lot of trouble saying that it must be my environment but I do not agree. How can it be my environment when I have other mini's working perfectly with no issues?
Please help or point me to a manager or someone that can help me. Again, mini just purchased in May, 2014.

We are just other user's here like yourself and can only make suggestions like trying a different Apple Store or asking for a manager at the store you took it to.
In the mean time, run the Apple Hardware Test as per > Using Apple Diagnostics to see if you have a RAM or other hardware problem. If the Hardware Test reports a problem, then at least you have some proof to act upon.
