Problem in sending mail for a pop3 account using transport.send(msg)

hi,
i am having problem in not able to send mail for a pop3 account ...
I have written an email gateway which listens to my pop3 account...on email arrival it listens nd extract the contents and send it as an sms msg...upon failure it needs to deliver the mail to sender id.I am using quartz to listen.
i am using jboss for server and java mail api.
here is my code
MimeMessage mimemsg = new MimeMessage(session);
                                                       mimemsg.setFrom();
                                                       mimemsg.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO, to);
                                                       mimemsg.setSubject(subject);
                                                       mimemsg.setText(parsedText);
                                                       mimemsg.setSentDate(new Date());
                                                       mimemsg.setContent(strBuff.toString(), "text/html");
                                                       System.out
                                                                                .println("Before sending mail");
                                                       Transport.send(m);
                                                            System.out.println("message sent successfully");
excepition i am getting is :

    If you turn on session debugging, you'll get a clue as to what you're
    doing wrong, but I'll save you the trouble. Your error is here:
    props.put("mail.smtp.auth",true);That should be:
    props.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true");
    BTW, you don't need all that socket factory stuff. See the JavaMail FAQ for a
    simpler approach.

    I have a problem sending mail via smtp. I use a satellite system and the average return time for a ping is 675ms. Is this a problem with mail? If so can I change Mail to accept it. The problem also exists with Lion and on both my MacPro and my wife's Imac. I also see my mailboxes randomly disconnecting and reconnecting. Any other ideas of a possible cause?

    I solved it myself, after the "note" which came back from FF/Mozilla just as I finished my message, commenting on what it was that my system had , I wnnt back to check my plug-ins etc. I downloaded the latest Java, BOTH 32bit AND 64 bit versions and latest Firefox.
    Now all is working.
    Thanks,

  • CANNOT SEND MAIL FROM .MAC SMTP ACCOUNT

    Hello everyone--
    I can receive mail from my .mac account and have done extensive troubleshooting including:
    1. Changing ports from 25 to 587
    2. Deleting and re-installing mailbox
    3. Reading a hosts of topics
    4. I have the serving settings with SSL unchecked
    ...but this still giving me the same trouble. I cannot send out because my email address keeps getting rejected.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server in Mail that is provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet?
    If so, can you send mail with this account and SMTP server?
    If the answer is yes to both questions, select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients.
    Most, if not all ISPs now block the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only (such as the .Mac SMTP server) that is outside of their network on Port 25 but some block its use regardless.
    Changing the Port for the SMTP server that is outside of the ISP's network from 25 to 587 usually resolves it but sometimes not depending on the ISP's restriction.
    Have you contacted your ISP regarding their restrictions and/or requirements when using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or not provided by them?
    Using your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account should work and it may be required regardless.

    There is a large thread relating to Gmail, but nothing that sounds like that.
    Nobody here knows what Apple is going to do.
    You might try removing the Gmail account and then add it back in.

  • Can not send mail to my pop account

    My ipad1 will ot send mail in my pop account since I just upgraded today.

    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Trying to use iCloud sending server for other POP accounts

    I have an iCloud email address, and 2 other non Apple POP email accounts set up in Mail running OSX 10.7.5.  I've forwarded my 2 POP accounts to my iCloud address so mail coming to those email addresses will sync with my iOS devices via iCloud.  On my Mac, if I reply to one of these messages, it wants to use the sending server for the POP account, which means the reply will not end up in my iCloud sent mail, and therefore won't sync with my iOS devices.
    I tried to set up the POP account using the iCloud server with the following settings:
    Server Name: smtp.mail.me.com
    Default Ports 25, 465, 587
    Use Secure Sockets Layer
    Password Authentication
    User Name:  [email protected]
    Password:  My Apple ID Password
    When I try to use this server when sending from these POP accounts, I get an error that Mail can't send with that server.  I run the connection doctor, and everything checks out OK.
    Is there a way I can accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    try logging in to your email account through the web browser and in the web client there should be auto forward setting set it up in the web client and delete the email  account from mail and then all of your email will be forwarded to your icloud account on all youre devices

  • Workflow to send mail for purchase requisation and approval msg which automatically updates sap

    I am new to workflow,I need to create work flow for purchase requisation and send mail for concern person for approval,like if he clicks approve in mail ,automatically it should get updated in sap if he rejects then he should enter reason for rejection
    pls help...

    Hi Surya,
    SAP had provided you with a standard WF template for PR. You only have to activate it. The workflow template is WS20000077. In this what you have to do is, make all the tasks in this
    WF as a general task. For that go to each activity and double click on the task ID. Then from within the task go to menu Additional Data->Agent Assignment->Maintan. Then slect the task and press Attributes and select general task. This will ask for a customizing request. Do this for all task.
    The give event linkage by going to the Basic Data of the workflow and give binding. This will fulfill
    your requirement.
    Regards,
    Abijith

  • I cannot send an e-mail for my 3GS iPhone using port 110

    I cannot send an e-mail for my 3GS iPhone using port 110; how do I find the right port? I have always used this port but now it does not work. I can send e-mails from my iPad using this port.

    The port is determined by your Email Service Provider. So first off, who is your email provider?
    Port 110 is not a standard port for sending. 25, 465 and 587 are the standard SMTP ports (sending) and 110, 143 and 995 are the standard POP/IMAP ports (receiving).
