Problem with BAPI_PO_RELEASE in workflow

Hi Experts,
I have a backgrouond task for PO releases. in the method of the task , iam calling a BAPI, 'BAPI_PO_RELEASE' .when iam executing the workflow through SWUS the BAPI returnig parameters like new release code etc successfully but release strategy is not getting updated in the PO.please let me know what can be the problem?

maybe a commit/user issue.
Check if the containers going to the WF-task are complete and correct.
You could try the following, if the user for this background task is wf-batch, you can set an endless loop in the method, temporary change WF-BATCH to dialog user, start the workflow and debug it with SM50.
Now you can see if it will be executed exactly as when you do it on the foreground.

Problems with "Author once" workflow, can't transcode HDV to BD and DVD

Adobe claims that with Encore CS3 you can
"author once, deliver to three formats" -- Blu-ray, DVD and Flash. I have been doing some research and testing, but have not been able to get it to work.
It seems as though Encore is not capable of taking HDV 1080i60 footage and transcoding it for both Blu-ray and DVD. The Blu-ray looks great, but the downconverted transcode for DVD is completely unusable.

I have seen some pretty pathetic downconversions from HDV to DV resolution, but this is the most creatively useless one I've come across so far.
I have been able to use Dynamic Link to get an almost acceptable "author once" workflow from HDV footage. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a way to get Encore or After Effects to render fields for the DVD transcode, so fast-moving graphic elements and text have jerky/strobing motion.
FYI, I got Dynamic Link working well for non-fast clips by doing the following:
Make sure that "Separate Fields" was set to "Upper" in "Interpret Footage" for the HDV clip.
Set the clip's frame blending mode to "Frame Mix" ("Pixel Motion" works, just take longer).
Enable Frame Blending for the comp.
(Enable Motion Blur for the comp if any layers are using Motion Blur).
If only there were a button to enable field rendering for the comp along with Frame Blending and Motion Blur, as both of those options directly affect how the Dynamic Link renders/transcodes in Encore.
I noticed that without Frame Blending enabled for both the clip and the comp, the motion in the transcode was very jerky, even though the clip had not been time stretched/remapped.
Does anyone know of some way to get the mythical "author once" workflow to work? Perhaps it's only for progressive workflows and not interlaced? Could this be a Mac-related problem (I have not been able to test on Windows)?
I know I can downconvert first, then import into Encore, and that does work fine, but that completely negates the wonderful concept of "author once".
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Gspot showed there was a problem with the file. What it said was of the 130K frames, most were not needed. I went back to the editor and reconstructed the 130K file. Had problems trying to export to M2v. PPro 2.0 would freeze every time, sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes just short of completing, approx 2 hours(this was a 2 pass vbr setup). I experienced problems just trying to make an AVI file for importing into Encore 2.0. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I first started this journey(over 300 hours). My first shot at elation occurred when I decided to try an m2v at vbr 1 pass instead of 2 pass. It worked. I say this because of late I have successfully made an Avi file, Imported the timeline and in fact satisfactorily made an m2v file (2 pass). The m2v was also brought into Encore 2.0. Though I have 4 HD's, it seems to me that as I am moving toward a successful product, I'm finding that I've located all my assets on one HD. Is this the way to go? I'd like to thank the alert for using Gspot. And I will, always. I believe that if I had used Gspot earlier I would not have been trying to fix the problem using a bad asset.
I've been able to make an iso file, though having trouble making a playable disc.

Problems with Auto approval workflow (WS 10000060) for shopping carts

Hi SAP Network community,
I have got a problem with the auto approval workflow for shopping carts.
Basically the workflow approves the shopping cart once it was created.
But then the related Purchase Order remains in Status held. If the PO gets ordered manually then it is not transferred to the R/3 backend system.
For testing purposes also the one step approval workflow was activated. If the shopping cart gets approved by clicking into the detail approval screen (not by approving through the green tick box in the shopping cart overview) then the PO gets ordered and transferred to the backend system as normal.
But if the shopping cart gets approved by using the green tick box in the shopping cart overview then the same problem occurs as described for the auto approval workflow.
The system version is SRM 4.00
Did anybody have the same or similar problems with the auto approval workflow and what could be the reason for this problems.

Are you using customized SRM Business workflow or Standard SRM Workflow ?

Problem with approving standard workflows.

We are testing workflows in Content DB prior to initiating a larger project. We have defined a serial approval workflow for uploading a file to a folder. When a file is uploaded, the approver can see the request but is not given the possibility to approve or reject the request.
The approver has been granted "approval" role with standard permissions "Set Attributes, Set Metadata, Discover, Lock, Get Metadata, Get Content, Set Content, Copy".
What can be missing in our setup that blocks for approving in workflows?

A few things to check:
1) That a message appears (briefly) on the outbound advanced queue (IFS_OUT) when the workflow is triggered. You can perform a "select * from ifs_out_table;" You need to be quick though.
However, if there is a build up of messages on the queue, but none are being removed, it would appear the Oracle Workflow process is not running.
2) If the message appears on the queue (briefly), then disappears, workflow is correctly dequeing the message.
In order for the approve/reject buttons to become visible in the Content DB Web UI, Oracle Workflow must repond on the inbound queue (IFS_IN) with seperate "notification" messages for each of the applicable responders.
If "orcladmin" was a responder for the worflow, a queue message may look like :-

IFS_ECM_WORKFLOW_PROCESSID=48799 (STRING)

You will thus need to monitor the inbound queue table (IFS_IN_TABLE) - and see if Worflow is responding to the request with these responder notifications.
If workflow is not returning notifications for each responder of the original request, then the Workflow process has failed / or is not running. You will need to check with the Oracle Workflow guys on how to debug workflow further.
If however, the notification messages are on the IFS_IN queue, but are not being removed, it means the Content DB agent responsible for processing inbound queue messages is not running.
The agent responsible for this is the InboundQueueListenerAgent. Check the Content DB node log file and search for entries relating to oracle.ifs.management.servers.InboundQueueListenerAgent
You will notice a table in the Content DB schema named odm_responder

Problem with substitution in workflow

hi,
we have a ESS-workflow for approving absence.
User A has created an absence. User B is the boss of this person.
BUT: the workflow has found 2 persons to approve the absence request from User A.
User B AND User C.
User C is in the subsitution list of User B. But the substituion is DEACTIVATED, i have checked
that with report RMPS_SET_SUBSTITUTE
how can it be that user C also receives the workflow and is allowed to approve the request ?
User B says he has not changed the subst. for a long time. how can i check this ? can i check
if activate/deactivate substitution was updated the last days ? is this in any table-log ?

I had a similar problem where the substitutions were deactivated and the the unintended USER was getting the workitems.
There are two kinds of substitutions that could be set.
And in my case most of the time the users set Personal Substitutes. Which are updated in table HRUS_D2.
The second kind of substitution is : substitution for position.
Apparently what i found was the user has setup a substitution at position level, Which doenst update anything in HRUS_D2.
You have to use RH_SUBSTITUTES_LIST_NEW to get rid of this position substitute.
Press F4 to toggle between personal and position substitutes.
If any personal substitutes exist you can delimit/deactivate or delete them.
Thats how i resolved my issue. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need any further info.

Problem with creating/viewing PDF's from InDesign CS3

I have a problem with our PDF workflow and just cannot seem to resolve it.
The problem is as follows: My coworker and I (both designers running CS3 on iMac's running 10.5.6 Leopard) work daily on producing documents and graphic layouts.
Internally we can view and print PDF documents we create just fine with no troubles with the exception of our supervisor, who is running a mac with Tiger operating system. Our office environment is both Mac and PC. On may occasions he cannot print PDF's we create. Many times his prints will contain garbled characters, drop italics and formatting, replace fonts, or just print slowly.
This problem is also happening to our editor who is offsite. This is a fairly serious problem for her, considering her job relies heavily on being able to view and open PDF files we create. She was able to send a PDF file which shows the garbled mess her printer spit out when she printed. Apparently there were pages upon pages of messy garbled text. When documents do print from her, they are usually very slow in printing, taking up to a minute or more to print each page.

My question really to the community is obviously what might be causing these problems. Its very frustrating not being able to determine if its something we're doing ourselves thats causing some incompatability or corruption in these files, or if its the users systems themselves. I can say that Debra our editor has can have a garbled mess of a 4 page file from us, and then turn around and print a graphic heavy 90 page PDF with ease from Boeing. Our PDF's seem to be the only ones she struggles with. That being said, my inclination is that its something on our end.
Any ideas of where to start looking? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thanks!

I currently had our editor test printing of some of our files using both Foxit and Adobe Reader (as was suggested) in order to see if either made a difference in her printing ability and here is what she came back with:
I tried to print out both these pdfs (David's is the one you reworked and Lisa's HESSM-3, both sent yesterday).
With Adobe: David's first page printed quickly, but it had errors (part of his pants didn't print, and there's an arbitrary shaded box in the text). Page 2 didn't print--every time I tried it had a different "offending command" code. Printing Lisa's HESSM made it up to page 7 before problems showed up (stock photo only partially printed), and it stopped on page 8 (with the random "offending command" code).
With Foxit: Both David's and the HESSM pdfs printed completely and without error...but it took a long time. David's 2 pages took about 3 to 4 minutes, and HESSM's 16 pages took close to 20 minutes. The time is in the transfer of data to the printer; the physical printing goes pretty quickly.
I cant say that I believe email is the problem, although I cant rule it out. I've tested emailing vs. passing through our workgroup with my supervisor, and it does not make any difference in his ability (or lack of ability) to print our files. He was able to print to a different printer (an HP 4650 as opposed to a 4100) without troubles. He refuses to believe its a printer problem however because PDF files originating from our office are the only ones he has trouble with. Never has he had any trouble with a single PDF file produced from any other source. This is also the case for our editor who only has trouble with PDF files originating from either mine, or my coworkers systems.

Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

Possible to do that ?

Problem with oracle workflow builder 2.6.3.5

I have installed oracle workflow server 2.6.3 on a oracle 10G 10.2.0.1 in Red Hat linux Enterprise 4L and I have Oracle workflow builder 2.6.3.5 on Microsoft Windows XP Service pack 2
I have the following error when i try to save or open and itemtype from the database
1005: Language is not populated, please refers to Workflow documentation for steps on populating a language.
How can i solve this i've alredy changed the NLS_LANG to match with the server
In the server the language is set to American and in the NLS_LANG i have set like this AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII

Siebel Problem With a Workflow Process (Pleaseee help REAL PROBLEM)

Well the problem is this i have a designed a workflow who is called by a JOB. Its functionality is to close Service Requests at certain time in the night.
when i simulate a workflow against 2 different Servers it works fine without errors, but when i run a job that calls this WP in those servers i have diferent errors in diferent steps.
In one server i have this kind of error in the last step "Cerrar Requerimiento":

2.Is the version for workflow in server and the one youre testing in client are the same ?
3. Last but not least this BCH EAI Query Utility search spec is it correct ? Can it able to return at least one record base on you're search spec because I know some business service are required to return at least one record else it will throw error.

Problem with Matching and Merging Step of MDM Workflow

Hi,
I have created a workflow which will first Match Step where the user will do both
Matching and Merging. Then, it will go for a process step Final Review.
Then, it will go for Branch step which is named as Decide on Check in.
There are two workflow which are launched after this step.
My workflow ran one time.
The number of records is: 19585. The Match step which is assigned to a different user is not performing.
It is a simple match based on First Name, Middle Name and Last Name.
Any suggestion?

What do you mean with "not Performing"? One suggestion, just log in with the 'Different User' who has been assigned for the matching task, and under that user goto the matching tab, in matching tab you will find a sub tab for Workflow, I hope you can work from there, If this doesnt solve your problem, then please let us know.

Problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing

Hi!
I am having problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing (SWU3). I am trying to execute "Configure RFC Destination" manually. I receive the message "Synchronization of passwords failed".
We are using CUA and it is therefor not possible to create the user from SWU3 which means that WF-BATCH has been created in CUA with a pw which is then filled in by me when executing "Configure RFC Destination".
WF-BATCH has authorization SAP_NEW, SAP_ALL
My user also has SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL and usergroup SUPER.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Hello Anders,
Check if the user is locked in SU01. Then check if your user has been created in CUA.
It is recommended to delete WF_BATCH. The system will auto create the user ID WF-BATCH and synchronize the password.

Problem with cproject workflow

i have created one workflow which will be treaged when i will release any task from the browser. when i will release this task my project should be released. (this is only for testing ) my workflow is working fine but it is releasing after 3-4 hrs. can anybody tell me that why it is taking so much time? it might be problem with some basis/system settings.so plz basis ppl also look at it and try to help me.

wow!, thats sounds really strange.
I propose you set up an example and open an OSS call.
The cpro guys from SAP should have a lok at this and provide a fix.
But if you release a task, the workflow is started as soon as you save or do you reenter the project directly?
There exists a kind of event handler BADI_EVENT, where you can control field changes.
In your case to release the task and need the release of the upper project. I don't like this process, but why not.
One possibility is making a small modification. As soon as task is released, we release all subtasks too. So it can make sense to release the project too.
I guess 3 lines of coding are required, but where
Please try the BADI DPR_EVENT oder the DPR_ATTRIBUTES and in the SET DATA routine, try to set the project release information.

I have a problem with the BPEL API. I try to invoke a BPEL workflow with the BPEL API. Up to the Point where i call the BPEL workflow with the command "deliveryService.post(processName, action, nm);".
When this command is processed i following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBException
It looks like i am missing a jar file, but in my Development tool an at the compilation i get no errors or warnings. Only when command above is called.
The initialization of the deliveryService works fine.
The only point i can image an error is at the definition of the jndi for the remote connection to BPEL. There i have following entry's:
jndiProviderUrl = "http:ormi://server:port:instance/orabpel";
jndiFactory = "oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory";
jndiUsername = "xxx";
jndiPassword = "yyy";
I get folowing errror message:

got some steps more ... but now i havent any clue. Out of this message i think my ProviderURL is wrong. but i try this both and got always the same error message.

Workflow problem with status Ready

HI,
I have a problem with the workflow not getting completed.
The workflow is for the employee attendace 20000081 .
After the manager of the employee accepts the leave application posted by employee , The workflow is in the following state: -
ID 000000340552 Work item type    Background step
Work Item text Find Employee .
Status <b>Ready</b>
Now the question is there any background job which needs to be scheduled for changing the all the workitem with status 'Ready' to be executed .
since once I execute this step manually then the workflow again goes in the ready status with the next step and the next step in this case is 'Create attendance/absence' This stpe of the workflow is in again status 'Ready'.
Please let me know if some know about this problem.

     Generic decision task classified completely
     Tasks for document generation fully classified
     T77* tables all available
     Monitoring job for missed deadlines is scheduled
     Monitoring job for work items with errors is scheduled
     Sending to objects and HR objects activated
     Entries missing in PD control tables
     Default Domain for Internet Mail Maintained
Workflow development environment
     Customizing incomplete
Prefix numbers for standard object types maintained
     An active plan version exists
     T77* tables all available
     Number range defined for customer tasks
     Entries missing in PD control tables
Please let me know if this is not proper .
