Process Composer - Automated Activity - Output Mapping Error

Hi,
I am trying to consume the standard
DocumentERPCreateRequestConfirmation_In_V1
service in a process - CE 7.1 EHP1.
Created one automated activity in the process to execute this service.
When I try to do Output Mapping for the automated activity to Context, it throws an error:
Incompatible expression type.
Expected:Log,ns="http://example.org/test"
Found:Log,ns="http://sap.com/xi/EA-APPL/SE/Global"
"http://example.org/test" is the namespace of the context I'm using - a Web Dynpro Context.
Any idea why is it so & what the error is?
Thanks,
Harish

Hi Harish,
               When I try to do Output Mapping for the automated activity to Context, it throws an error:
Incompatible expression type.
Expected:Log,ns="http://example.org/test"
Found:Log,ns="http://sap.com/xi/EA-APPL/SE/Global"
"http://example.org/test" is the namespace of the context I'm using - a Web Dynpro Context
once u have mapped the node, u will get this error message. to remove the error message, map all the attributes from Node A to Node B.
Hope your problem will be solved.
Thanks and regards

  • Data objects supported in the BPM Process Composer by Activity ?

    Hi,
    In BPMN 2.0 normalization, data objects are artefacts which show the reader which data is required or produced in an activity.
    How is the data objects supported in the BPM Process Composer?
    Thanks,
    Grégoire.

    Select the activity and then select the Data Associations button. You can associate existing data objects and create new ones.

  • Starting another process from Automated Activity

    Hello,
    is it generally possible to trigger the instantiation of another process via an automated activity?
    I ask this question, because I already tried this and the service call did execute properly but the second process instance does not start. (Even though it starts when triggered vie the Webservice Navigator.)
    Thank you,
    Kevin

    Thank you for the reply,
    I just added a Provider System for my local system and assigned it to the Service Group I am using and now it works.

    Hi,
    There seems to be problem with J2EE Server. Please follow the following steps and it will resolve your error.
    login to J2EE Visual aadmin ->cluster ->services ->.JMS connector ->runtime(Right side tab) ->check the factories / destinations (if anything is in red color X mark).
    Fix it and restart the server.
    Pls reward points if answer is useful

  • Reduce number retries for an automated activity on a fault-message

    Hi everyone,
    is it possible to reduce the number of retries if an automated activity gets a fault response? With correcting my logical destinations it was possible for me to achieve communication to a webservice outside the netweaver.
    Now I tried the same with a selfmade deployed process and it "worked" - too good. When the automated activity tries to call the webservice, which is a synchromous bpm-process I created, it recieves a fault message. This fault.message is a "the process has been triggered" message that starts my next process. Now that the automated activity gets the "error" I wanted it retries 3 times to get a working connection with the service - so I get 3 new process instances. Is it possible to reduce the retry-counter and if yes, where can I do that? I already looked for this option in the service registry and in the logical destination settings. There isn't an option in the NWDS for the automated activity and i haven't found something in the help.sap.com,
    And yes I know that this isn't usefull for an operativ system.
    With kind regards,
    Markus

    Hi Markus,
    The number of retries is configured internally and cannot be modified on a per automated activity basis. To cover this use cases (BPM process A calling BPM Process B via WS), it is recommend to define the service interface of the process B as "one -way" (request without response) so that no SOAP fault it returned if case of successful start. In case an issue occurs during the start of process B, a SOAP fault will be returned.
    Hope this helps,
    David

  • Creation of  WSDL file & import it in the creation of automated activity

    Hi Friends,
    I want to create BPM process for automated activity.I have created task for human activity. I have created CAF Application,but I dont know how to ceate/import WSDL file(This WSDL file is used to assign the interface to the automated activity).Can anyone explain about WSDL file creation and it's significance.
    (I am following one document 'Creating BPM Process with Human and Automated Activities' from this link ' https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/501bd56f-a5a6-2b10-4fbf-a61a64055fe4')
    Regards,
    Pranjali

    Hi Pranjali,
    WSDL is a document written in XML. The document describes a Web service. It specifies the location of the service and the operations (or methods) the service exposes. WSDL types are used to describe the data. XML Schema is used (inline or referenced) for this purpose.
    Refer to the below link for more deatils on WSDL:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Services_Description_Language
    Also there are numerous documents avaiable on this topic, just do a google search.
    Hope this helps!!
    Cheers,

  • Mapping error in File to File Scenario.

    In a file to file scenario some times sender communication channel picked the file, before the file is completely copied to the directory Though the poling intervals is 300 seconds. To my assumption, assume that the sender communication channel lastly polled on 10:10:10 and i am coping a file after 285 sec that is 10:14:55 and file size is 20 mb that takes 50 sec to copy. but the next sender communication channel poling is 10:15:10. here the file is partially copied but the communication channel picked the file and process. The scenarios throws mapping error because of in correct input file. This rarely accords but how to handle this. i want the cc to wait until the file is completely copied to the dir and then poll.

    Hi ,
    But there is some problem with system i guess. Adapter engine first load the whole file and then send it to Integration engine where after receiver and interface determination , mapping is excuted. So the fact that adapter picked up half of the file and tried to process does not seem correct.
    Ideally this behaviour should not occurs.
    If you are observing similar with all the adapter , you should also cross check with SAP support team.

  • CcBPM Process Number in the Message mapping

    Hi,
    I  have a requirement to map the ccBPM's process number in which the Mapping error has occured to be mapped to a specific field in the target.  I wanted to know how could I pass the BPM's process number to the message mapping ( this message mapping(Service mapping) is a part of the same BPM).  If we could get the MESSAGE_ID of the message in the message mapping, we should also be getting the BPM Process number.
    In other words, when an alert is triggered in BPM, we get the BPM process number in its subject, i need that BPM process number in to the message mapping where that message has to be stored in a table in ECC.
    I have searched in help and SDN to check if some system properties can help, but i couldnt.  Any help/inputs from you is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Kalpana.

    Hi Manuel,
    it is very easy to to get the <b>Message ID</b>, which is unique and useful for selecting a message in the monitoring
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/b3/9a2aeb24dc4ab6b1855c99157529e4/content.htm">Special Access to Mapping Runtime Constants</a>
    You send a mail from Java Mapping or, what would be the standard, (as additional) message from BPM or just as normal Message Receiver or only in Error case as Alert receiver.

    The minOccurs for c, z, 1 and 9 =0.
    However, while execution of this mapping with the source element c missing in the payload a 'Cannot produce target element' error is encountered.
    Can any one help find out why is this error being encountered when both the source and target feilds along with their subfields are optional (i.e. with minOccurs=0)?

    ok there seems to be some confusion
    my source structure is like
    <a>
    <b></b>
    <c>
    <1></1>
    </c>
    </a>
    and target structure is like
    <x>
    <y></y>
    <z>
    <9></9>
    </z>
    </x>
    and the mapping is as follows
    a is mapped to x
    a>b is mapped to x>y
    a>c is mapped to x>z
    a>c>1 is mapped to x>z>9
    and both c and z have cardinatlity 0 to unbounded.
    In this case if my source message does not have the element c, its processing leads to the said mapping error.

  • Error in Automated activity of BPM using the PI operation mapping.

    Dear Experts,
    We have a BPM process, where we have imported Operation Mapping, to use it in an automated activity. We have created the service reference with localhost and checked the local provider system check box and with type WS.
    While running the scenario the process stops at the automated activity (having the Operation mapping), with error:
    A technical error during invocation: Could not invoke service reference name
    I have tried to recreate the step couple of times but it is always the same error.
    Could you please share your expertise in how to over come the error.
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Ajay

    Hi Ganesh,
    Thanks for your response.
    SOAP and Mail scenario are also using the same inbound proxy structure , and the proxy is working fine in both cases.
    For FTP scenario we are reusing the same inbound proxy but we are facing error .
    SAP is getting
    "XML to ABAP Conversion error with error id as "CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT " System expected the element 'Namespace of the inbound service interface' .
    Please guide.
    Thanks,
    Ruchi

  • Mapping errors between data object and automated activity

    Hi,
    in a automated activity of a bpm process I try to call a web service method ("addBook") which exptects an object called u201CbookWrapperu201D. The object "bookWrapper" consist of three variables: u201Cbidu201D (Integer), u201Cauthoru201D (String), u201Ctitleu201D (String).
    When I try to directly map, for example u201Ctitleu201D, out of an existing Data Object (Filled by an human activity: u201CDO_CreateBooku201D) I got the error:
    Expected: xsd:string
    Found list of u2018com.sap.dictionary.stringu2019
    Severity and Description     Path     Resource     Location     Creation Time     Id
    The literal: "Expression for target path 'DO_BookWrapper/title' has errors." do not have type, in expression: "#erroneous=true;sources=TaskOutput/UIResponse/start/title#TaskOutput/UIResponse/start/title".     LocalDevelopmentLocalDevelopmentbook_chapter_process~demo.sap.com/src/bpmn     create book and chapter.bpmn     Expression for target path 'DO_BookWrapper/title' has errors. [Galaxy, Rule, Literal]     1260878200220     4720
    I do not know why this error occurs because both type are strings. Is it due to the fact that I do not have an object instead of variables as input parameters? I used the automatically generated data types as data objects.
    May anybody help me please? Can I make casts?
    Regards

    Hi Martin,
    From the error that you get, it is indicated that you try to map a list to a single variable.
    If you want to do so, please see the documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/47/63604e42bf6831e10000000a421937/frameset.htm where it is said:
    If you map a node, whose content is a list or a node, with one or more parents that are lists, to a single-valued node, you get an error. Depending on your needs you could provide custom expression, for example to aggregate the list to a single value, or you could do parent mapping between the multi-valued parent nodes.
    So you need to create an EJB function that does the conversion between a list and single value type. Here is the help for functions: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/47/63604e42bf6831e10000000a421937/frameset.htm and especially for EJB functions http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/609c9982-39af-2b10-768b-e5bd8813c1f3.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Process Composer - node mapping

    Hello,
    I have a table (ie ID, Name) in my first Web Dynpro application, and i want to pass it to another Web Dynpro application using Process Composer. Everything works fine, when there is only one record (row) in table, but when i add another, click submitt button, error in my log file appears, and process is not delegated to second Web Dynpro application.
    I created mapping in xsd, mapped output from 1st application to process context, and input of 2nd application to that context.
    Error in log looks like that:
    #2.0 #2009 01 28 16:41:13:015#+0100#Error#com.sap.engine.session.data.share.HashtableFactory#
    #BC-JAS-COR-SES#kernel.sda#02004C4F4F50C2B00000000000000BE0#21434350000000004#sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_ui#com.sap.engine.session.data.share.HashtableFactory#userA#41575##5FF4B600ED3711DD850A02004C4F4F50#12abe7e0ed5211ddc4ad02004c4f4f50#12abe7e0ed5211ddc4ad02004c4f4f50#0#Thread[HTTP Worker [@5716384],5,Dedicated_Application_Thread]#Plain##
    There is no hashtable registered for java.lang.String class. Maybe there is a classloader problem.#
    It seems like i'm trying to map list from 1st application to string into 2nd application or data structure in process context.
    Can anyone please tell me how i'm supposed to map one node (table) from one application to another? Is there any pdf/ebook  file about advanced building a composite business process (excpecially how to create xsd file) ?
    thanks in advance,
    Lukas

    Hello,
    When I map node from context of 1st application do the node of the 2nd application and check the expression editor for certain attribute of the node there is an error message like:
    "xsd:String excepceted ... Found list of String".
    In my both web dynpro applications nodes have cardinality 0..n
    Do you think there is a problem in my xsd file ?
    I also tried to map both nodes directly from one application context to another (not using process context) but i still get this error. Can anyone please help me with this issue.
    Here is part of my xsd source file, where i'm trying to create data strucute for process context, to map my node from application (node in my application has only one attribute String):
        <complexType name="myNode">
             <sequence>
                  <element ref="tns:myAttribute" />
             </sequence>
        </complexType>
       <complexType name="InvestmentApprovalProcess">
             <sequence>
                  <element name="myNode" type="tns:myNode"/>
             </sequence>
        </complexType>
    <element name="myAttribute" type="string"/>
    Thanks,

  • Error while invoking a automated activity

    Hello,
    I don't know whether this is the correct quesiton to this forum but since I am getting error in NW BPM process, I am writing it here.
    I have created a process which is getting triggered by WS call. The first step after start is automated activity where a call to SAP is made via a sync proxy.
    When I tried to execute the entire BPM process, I am getting the error in BPM Logs as
    "A technical error during invocation: Could not invoke service reference name
    eb7cf84e-f05c-41c4-940a-8f95113179f3, component name
    example.org~<DC Name>~BPMcomponent"
    Actually 2 things I did as a part of correction, the first is to set the communicaiton protocol is XI in the service reference of an outbound service interface that is used to call SAP system and change the interface pattern of its inbound interface to XI3.0 compatible. as suggested by Udo Martens in one of his blog. Also the inbound interface in the start step is of XI3.0 compatible.
    I re-deployed the project which I verified by going through NWA logs and also checked the configuration as given in blog. I have collaboration agreement done in PI where Sender is SOAP communication channel with XI protocol and it is as per the sender defined into the service reference.
    Sending a message from SAP NetWeaver BPM process to PI fails via automated activity - Technology Troubleshooting Guide -…
    Also I read one thread where it was resolved by clearing JCO caches but it seems the call was RFC call unlike in my case it is proxy call.
    "Could not invoke service reference" for automated activity (RFC call)
    Any clue what could have went wrong. I could see a cache issue here. But how to clear BPM cache.I couldn't find such option on NWA.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ameet,
    I'm facing same error,
    Could you  tell me how to apply the solution? Please.
    Thanks in advantage,

  • Activity looping/parallel for each: Output mapping and Inturrupting

    Hello,
    we want to model and execute an approval process with one requestor and several approvers. All assigned approvers get the approval task simultaniously to save time. Each approver can make a decision like Reject, Rework, Approve and also add comments.
    Only if all Assignees make their approval, the request gets approved. On the first occuring "rework" or "reject" decision, all open tasks have to be removed from the assignees UWLs; their results become unnnecessary.
    Please have a look at the corresponding model on [http://www.gm.fh-koeln.de/~wi1744/pubfiles/parallel_for_each_task.PNG].
    As you can see in the model, we made an approach using a parallel for each Human activity. In our process the tasks show up in parallel on each adressed UWL. Thats fine so far but we are facing two problems.
    1. Output Mapping of parallel Tasks
    1.1 Are we right to assume that for each task output the activitys output mapping is done?
    1.2 Are there differences to the regular output mapping we have to consider?
    2. Stopping the parallel tasks and continuing the process flow .
    We said as soon as any result like rework or reject comes out, the whole activity should stop and all open tasks be removed from the UWL. How can this be modeled and realised?
    Thank you for any input!

    Hi ,
    For the 2nd question you can achieve that behavior  using "Intermediate message events". I have created a dummy process [http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/sdn1.png/] by which you can achieve this. Hope this helps. For the 1st question can you please be more specific about what is it you wanted to do.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohit
