Question on Weblogic User role

Is there a way to assign a role to the weblogic server user in such a way that the user which will only have the ability to create users/delete users/ change other users passwords and doenst have any other abilities which the
Administrators or Monitors or Deployers or Operators or other Global roles have?
Environment : Weblogic server 10.0

No.
Members of the Administrators, including the default weblogic user, have all admin abilities. You should create individual users for each user that you're allowing to access the console, rather than distributing the weblogic password. This is especially true for your administrators - each should have their own password.
However, if you configure your security realm to use some external LDAP ( for users and passwords ), you might be able to have user accounts - within that LDAP's client software - who are restricted to an account management role as you've described for the groups used within your WL domain.

  • How to create/get user & role in Weblogic 9.2 programmatically?

    Hi,
I am new to Weblogic 9.
I need to create a web service to manage user/role in WebLogic 9.
Searching thru the web and found some classes like:
    AtnSecurityMgmtHelper, AtnProviderDescription etc
Are those the correct classes to create/retrieve user & role?
If so, what jar file contains those classes and where is the jar
    file?
    Thanks in advance,
    Terry

You can do it with WLST help
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/config_scripting/config_WLS.html#wp1019913
or via JMX through http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/javadocs/weblogic/management/security/authentication/UserEditorMBean.html and such

    Hi..
You can use wlst or jmx to perform all security config etc.. same as if it were perfomred from the admin console..
    .e.g. wlst create user
    ..after connecting to admin server
    serverConfig()
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/AuthenticationProviders/DefaultAuthenticator")
    cmo.createUser("userName","Password","UserDesc")
    ..for adding/configuring a role
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/RoleMappers/XACMLRoleMapper")
    cmo.createRole('','roleName', 'userName')
...see the mbean docs for all the different attributes, operations etc..
    ..Mark.

  • Easy Question: How to identify user roles within form?

    Hi folks,
I would like to display/hide button which calls static data maintenance form (from other form) based on current user roles.
If user has role "STATIC_DATA" granted then DISPLAY button (which calls static data form), else DO NOT DISPLAY it.
Any example, how to get user roles within form?
    Thanks,
    Tomas

I can do it with below code:
    declare
      l_cnt number;
    begin
      select count(*)
         into l_cnt
         from user_role_privs
      where granted_role = 'STATIC_DATA';
      if l_cnt > 0 then
            -- display it
      else
         -- do not display
      end if;
    end;I think, above should work.
    Thanks,
    Tomas

  • Database Error (maybe) while working on User-Role or Assiging a Cloud (Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure)

    Hi,
Suddenly I got this error in SCVMM 2012-R2 Roll-up 1:
When working with User-Roles (create/update) or assigning a Cloud :
"VMM encountered a critical exception and created an exception report....
search user forums for well-known failure root causes for self-help" (how sweet)... (if it's "well known", why not coding the exception handling correctly?)
The relevant part of the report might be this:
    "SCVMM Version=3.2.7620.0
    SCVMM flavor=C-buddy-RTL-AMD64
    Default Assembly Version=3.2.7620.0
    Executable Name=vmmservice.exe
    Executable Version=3.2.7510.0
    Base Exception Target Site=140717670746840
    Base Exception Assembly name=System.Data.dll
    Base Exception Method Name=System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError
Exception Message=Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure.
Ensure that the SQL Server is running and configured correctly, then try the operation again."
(side question: what does this mean: "Ensure that the SQL Server is ... configured correctly"?
    I can say that :
SQL is configured by the book, that all services are running (did a reboot of VMM server too) and that all other VMM functions work OK. I don't believe that SQL is only used for user-roles...
Acting as Domain admin and VMM admin.
    All updates are installed.
Please find the report @the and and a screen shot attached.
    Thanks for any help.

I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/scvmm/archive/2014/01/29/how-to-update-scvmm-2012-r2-to-update-rollup-1.aspx
Needless to say, the feedback was given to MSFT that folks would overlook that this SQL script needed to be run.  So we are just trying to help out.

  • Unable to find 'weblogic' user in rpd

    Hi ,
I have open the rpd in online mode and trying to set log level for weblogic user.
Manage-->Identity-->Select BIRepository. Click on Action tab-->Set online filter.
I have entered * button. By default online rpd is going to be closed. Can any one share your thoughts on it.
    Regards,
    Sri

    Hi Sri,
First, I would like to understand the reason why you are trying to set the logging level to the weblogic user. Weblogic user is the Admin (Kind of Super Admin who has access to everything!!!! ;) and is used for managing the weblogic servers, domains etc.
If you are using the same userid for developing reports, I think you should consider creating another userid for creating analysis only (Just like BIAnalysisAuthor) and one for BIAdmin etc..
However, to answer the question, you should still be able to see this guy in Administration tool. From your message, I think your Admin tool is crashing here.
May be you want to try from some other client or can set the logging level with some init block as follows.
    1. Create an session init block.
    2. Set the target as "LOGLEVEL".
    3. Write a query to initialize this variable. For ex: select "2" from dual
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

  • Problem assigning internet user Role through portal

    Hi All,
Please could someone help me with the following:
I am creating a registration process that creates a new CRM Business partner with contact person and internet user roles. When i run the Bapi from with in CRM everything works fine however when i run my jsp dynpage application and call the same bapi, the internet user that i create does not have any of the logon details or roles. Does anyone know why this is? i am using the same user when running in crm and the portal.
    Many thanks in advance
    Calvin

    Hi Sunil,
Thanks for your reply. answers to your questions:
    1. Yes, all portal users are maintained and have the same roles as CUA users. Portal authenticates against CUA.
    2. Yes the user is created correctly on the backend. i have created a BAPI that creates users, BP's and assigns roles. This Bapi works perfectly when run in CRM but as soon as it is accessed via the portal the internet user role does not have all the required information.
    Many thanks

  • Export / import tablespace with all objects (datas, users, roles)

Hi, i have a problem or question to the topic export / import tablespace.
On the one hand, i have a database 10g (A) and on the other hand, a database 11g (B).
On A there is a tablespace called PRO.
    Furthermore 3 Users:
PRO_Main - contains the datas - Tablespace PRO
    PRO_Users1 with a role PRO_UROLE - Tablespace PRO
    PRO_Users2 with a role PRO_UROLE - Tablespace PRO
Now, i want to transfer the whole tablespace PRO (included users PRO_MAIN, PRO_USER1, PRO_User2 and the role PRO_UROLE) from A to B.
On B, I 've created the user PRO_Main and the tablespace PRO.
    On A , i execute following statement:
    expdp PRO_Main/XXX TABLESPACES=PRO DIRECTORY=backup_datapump DUMPFILE=TSpro.dmp LOGFILE=TSpro.log
    On B:
    impdp PRO_Main/XXX TABLESPACES=PRO DIRECTORY=backup_datapump DUMPFILE=TSpro.dmp LOGFILE=TSpro.log
    Result:
The User PRO_Main was imported with all the datas.
    But i 'm missing PRO_USER1, PRO_User2 and the role PRO_UROLE...
I assume, i 've used wrong parameters in my expd and / or impdp.
It would be nice, if anybody can give me a hint.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Frank

When you do a TABLESPACE mode export by specifying just the tablespaces, then all that gets exported are the tables and their dependent objects. The users, roles, and the tablespace definitions themselves don't get exported.
When you do a SCHEMA mode export by specifying the schemas, you will get the schema definitions (if the schema running the export is privied) and all of the objects that the schema owns. The schema does not own roles or tablespace definitions.
In your case, you want to move
    1. schemas - which you already created 1 on your target database
    2. roles
    3. everything in the tablespaces owned by multiple schemas.
There is no 1 export/import command that will do this. This is how i would do this:
1 - move the schema definitions
    a. you can either create these manually or
    b1. expdp schemas=<your list of schemas> include=user
b2 impdp the results from b1.
    2. move the roles
    expdp full=y include=role ...
remember, this will include all roles. If you want to limit what gets exported, then use:
    include=role:"in ('ROLE1', 'ROLE2', ETC.)
    impdo the roles just exported
    3. move the user information
    a. If you want to move all of the schema's objects like functions, packages, etc, then you need to use a schema mode
    export
    expdp user/password schemas=a,b,c ...
    b. If you want to move only the objects in those tablespaces, then use the tablespace export
    expdp user/password tablespaces=tbs1, tbs2, ...
    c. import the dumpfile generated in step 3
    impdp user/password ...
    Hope this helps.

  • ¿How to use user-roles in Ironport WSA (7.6) using ACS 4.1?

    Hello,
I want to give a client access to a S370 WSA quarantine and I am using an ACS 4.1 for external authentication; that would be used for administrators and for the client access (non-administration access).
I have created a user-role in the WSA that has access to the quarantine I want, but I need the user to be in the ACS. I created the user in ACS but my question is, what should I configure or change in the ACS in order for the WSA to recognize the user with the specific role I created and not like an administrator role.
    Thanks for your help!
    Sergio

    Hi,
This can be done by configuring the Radius Class attribute on the ACS and mapping it with the user roles on the WSA.
"To map RADIUS users to different Web Security appliance user role types, you assign a role type, such
as Administrator and Operator, to a RADIUS CLASS attribute. Mapping different role types lets you
specify the authorization level for each RADIUS user."
Please go to Page 26-12 of the WSA user guide http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/wsa/wsa7-5/user_guide/WSA_7-5-0_UserGuide.pdf for more information under the section "Using External Authentication".

  • User Specific catalog UI configuration - Custom catalog user role

    Hi all,
We need different user specific layout settings for each user. i have duplicated catalog user role for each user and maintained specific named search for that particular user in constraint. but when we want to configure specific layout for individual user. its not showing that catalog user in the catalog config UI for the layout configuration. please advice. if it shows that specific user then we would configure each specific user layout with individual look and feel ( like shopping lists, search fields, images, etc., ). thanks for your inputs.
Your help would be highly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Smartsoft General user,
I guess you are on SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0
We have the same business scenario as yours. Its working perfectly for us.
    1. Donot copy Catalog User role. SRM-MDM UI Config only accepts users assigned under std Catalog User role. You dont need mutiple copies of Catalog user role, anyways it wont work.
    2. Create multiple webservices for each Named search. Provide one User (like User1, User2...or your own created ones) and one Named Search as following parameters in each webservice.
              http://<your server:port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
    username     User<n>
    password     <password>
    server     <your server>
repositoryType     M ( for Master ) S (for Slave)  - Make sure you are pointing to right repo if you have master/slave
catalog     <provide Repository name- make sure you are giving right repository name, I provided it wrong first time>
    port     <your port>
    uilanguage     SY-LANGU
    datalanguage     SY-LANGU
mask     < keep blank if you want dynamic search>
namedsearch     <Provide exact Named search name as you provided in Data Manager>
    HOOK_URL
    returntarget     _parent
If you are creating 5 different Named searches, create 5 different webservice definitions as above.
    3. Now for each Catalog user, you can perform separate search UI layout as you wish.
Let me know if this helps or have any questions. If this worked for me, we will make it work for you.

  • Customize portal "Help" link based on user roles

Is there a chance to customize the Help link URL in Masthead iView based on user roles? The use case we have is that the "Help" should be different for users of the purchasing company from those of the supplying company.
    Thanks.

    Hello Jay.
This is a multi step process.
Step 1 : Create 2 desktops with everything as same but different mastheads.
    - Copy your existing desktop and paste it in your working folder in PCD (Not select Delta link)
    - Now download masthead par file.
    - Modify your masthead par file where you will disable help link. Rename you masthead file (newMasthead.par) and export it from NWDS. Now import it in portal.
    - open your framework page in desktop2. Just add your new masthead in it. Enable the new one and disable the existing one.
Step 2 : Create 2 groups of users. (First one belong to users who wish to see help link . i.e existing desktop) (Second of thoese users who do not have to see help link i.e. newDesktop)
    - Assign users to appropriate groups.
    - Assign same roles to both groups.
Step 3 : Modify main rule section in PCD.
    - If group = HelpLinkUsers Then Desktop1
If group = NoHelpLinkUsers Then Desktop2.
You may find above process bit tedious and lengthy.
But if you wish to further customize your portal then this will be needed one day.
If you find problems in implementing any step then please search in google or SDN.
Please revert back on any specific question on above approach you may face while implementing.

To create and assign roles, please refer to the following documentation

Just to answer your question, after you have assigned the End User Roles
to the user, the learning map is sent to the E-Mail address in the
    address data (txn SU3).

  • UWL Universal Worklist use User Role Negate Filter

    Hi, SDN Expert.
In my UWL configuration, I am trying to exclude to display my task items to one user role.
I know that the "User Role" parameter can help me to restricts/allows who can get work items via the user role. I can also have multiple user roles separated by semi-colon to cover all the roles to receive the task.
BUT in my case, I only want few roles NOT to receive the task items, and all other roles to receive them.
My question is can I use the "NEGATE SIGN" , "!" (means Not Equal To) to exclude the particular user role to receive the task item, says I want to exclude the role name: "mydemorole", I just enter this "!mydemorole" in the "Use Role" parameter of the UWL configuration.
If NOT, what is the right way I should use to achieve this purpose?
    Thanks for advise,
    KC

Michael, you can do this in the UWL but only with a 6.40 backend (ex. ECC 5) with a specific patch level (can not remember that patch level).
Before this you need to set these substituion in the R/3 inbox.
This being said it is only for workflow task routing. If I read your message correctly you want a manager to assign his authorizations (roles in R/3 or the portal) to a secretary. This is not supported in any standard SAP (or portal) scenario as far as I am aware.
    Cheers,
    D.
