Re-run depreciation for the month after creating new asset

Hi Experts,
I have run depreciation for 01.2009. I then created an asset with start life and acquisition posting date as 01.01.2009.
In the asset's planned depreciation, the first planned depreciation period is 02. But the requirement is to re-run depreciation for the month and include the new asset in the run.
Is this possible? How?
Thanks!

When you have run the depreciation for period 01 and you create a new asset where the depreciation starts in period 01 you see that the planned depreciation (period 01 and 02) will be posted in period 02
It is possible to do the repeat run and then it will be posted in period 01, you will see this then back in period 01 as posted depreciation.
You can run this as test run and for only 1 asset!

  • Navigation bar too wide for template graphic after creating new page

I want to stick within the templates, but I have a lot of pages and don't want them all in the nav bar. When I flagged a page to keep it out of the NAV bar, the NAV bar get messed up - not properly displaying at the edge of the template, like it made room for the hidden page's link then re-adjusted itself too wide for the background graphic. I've got the problem in the elegant template when displayed in IE on Windows (1024X768). Safari on my mac looks OK. Are there any other setting changes I can make to be better compatible?
    Thanks

It appears to have been a cache issue or some such. I no longer see the problem

  • Depreciation for the past 3 periods

    Hi SAP experts,
Would you please share your experience on how we can run depreciation for the past periods. In our example depreciation was not run for the last 3 periods.
The previous periods are of course closed.
What is the best way to run it now?
    Thank you

If possible open the previous periods and run the depreciation.
If period open is not possible, then execute AFAB with unplanned posting run mode.

  • Depreciation for the Dep Area 03 is positive for the month of december

    Dear All,
My client has run the Deprecation for the month of Dec 2011 and for only one asset the value in the depreciation area 03 is become positive. Eg; for 11 months value is credit 1000 and in the month of December it has posted as Debit 1000. And the value of the asset has in the deprication 03 is same as 2011 value because dep. is zero.
Please assit me in this case as I its financial year close.
    Regards,
    Jayraj

    Hi Jayraj,
I assume that the DEP KEY might have been changed for the Area 31 to 0000 after running the dep update run for NOV period but before running the DEC dep update run in AFAB/AFABN.
This could be the only reason, where the whole Dep for the year will get reversed.
Ex: You might have created an addtional DEPRECIATION INTERVAL for Dep area 31, where the starting date for the the same could have set to FY start date.

  • Can we run CK40N for the past month?

    Hi All,
One of our users forgot to do the cost estimate for the month of May, that's why when he run CK40N (June 1), the prices went to future price, (i think because our MM is still May). I have some few questions and hoping for your positive feedback.
1.) If we open the June period, will the future price became present price? or we need to run again CK40N?
2.) Can we run CK40N for the past month of May? Reason is, we would like to capture the prices of Material last May.
    Please advise.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Tina,
CK40N Meant for creatting cost estimates for the product and estimation is some wht which you create for future or current period. It is not possible to run ck40n for the past period.
Now since you said that period june is not opened in MM. you can not release the price i.e.ck40n for june. check the details fo costing dates you have put in the dates parameters in ck40n. If you have run ck40n for june  then after marking the price system will set the price as a future price and same prices become the current price once you release the price. So if  you r executing ck40n  for june and june is not opened , you can not release the price. First u open the period june then execute the release functionality future price would automatically become the current price for  JUNE.

  • Depreciation for the 1st month

    Dear all,
In my client place, the go live happened on 01.04.2008. The asset transfer date is 31.03.2008. When I run afab, I am unable to calculate depreciation for the  1st month. The 1st month depreciation is getting added to the 2nd month. But i want the 1st month dep to be showed seperatly. Please suggest me how the issue can be solved.
    Thanks & Regards,
    A.Anandarajan.

Hi can you have a look in the folowing tables with SE16 and there you can see the values posted for the depreciation:
tabel TABA, I think no values in
tabel T083D, I think that there in is a values (I hoop not) what is this value?
When you set AM and transport it and have already run a depreciation run it is possible that this value is transported.
When it is only period 01 then pehaps you can take the decission to do an unplanned depreciation run in period 02 (values fromperiod 01 and 02). In all cases you can do this as a test run

  • If my ipad has a dint in it but it still worked for 7 months after that moment and know it just stoped working does the year warranty still apply

If my ipad has a dint in it but it still worked for 7 months after that moment and know it just stoped working does the year warranty still apply.

No. iPads that have any type of denting or physical damage (old or new) are not covered under the warranty. Apple would have no way of determining when the damage was done or if that damage caused your present issue.
I believe that once they see physical damage, their reasoning for voiding the warranty would be that visible, physical damage, irregardless of when it ocurred.

  • How to reverse the Depreciation for the excess amount posted?

    Hi Gurus,
We have uploaded the data last month from legacy system to SAP as below.
The Fiscal year is Jan - Dec and gone live on June 28th 2009.
Accumulated Depreciation was taken till Dec 2008.
Ordinary Depreciation was taken from Jan 2009 to June 2009.
But Ordinary depreciation is not up to date in SAP as the user miss out the 2 months depreciation for each Asset but this was already posted in legacy system. All the GL Balances have been uploaded as per the legacy system. Now system is taking the previous 2 months Depreciation along with the current month. If we run the Depreciation for the current month, the system will post excess amount as it includes previous 2 months Depreciation.
Can any one kindly suggest the process to reverse the excess amount after Depreciation posted for the current month?
    Thanks much for the help.
    Early responses will be appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    JBC

    HI
    Few clarifications-
    1. you have posted two months dep in legacy , have you transferred that dep amount wth the ordinary dep transferred from jan to june?
If yes, that means your last posted dep month is june and accordingly you have to set the last period (6) in the SPRO for asset data transfer specifications, so system will start calculating dep from the 7th period only and will not recalculate dep for last two months.Check the last posted period mentioned in SPRO.
2.If you have uploaded wrongly your ordinary dep for current year , then that means your Asset accounting opening balance (migrated balance ) is not matching with your Trial GL upload as well, so you need to correct your asset accounting opening balances.
For this you need to reset your company code status from 0 to blank ( tset data always allowed for asset data transfer). And then correct the values for current year ordinary dep posted from jan to june, also check the last posted dep period as above.
3.However you may post writeup ttype 700 to adjust the excess dep posted by any reason, you can extract last two months dep posted values asset wise from legacy system if already posted, and post the writeups for the same value in current period using LSMW.

  • Stop depreciation for few months

    Hi,
I want to stop depreciation for few months.
For those months system should not calculate the depreciation.
for example, i dont want to calculate depreciation for assests for the sep, oct months, after that system should calculate depreciation.
    how to proceed this.

    HI,
The system will calculate the depreciation based on the useful life defined. But depreciation won't be calculated for the shutdown period as defined in the Asset Master.
For example if you define 12 periods (1 to 12) of useful life for an asset, and assume that shut down period is 3 and 4, then the depreciation won't be calculated for period 3 and 4 but the useful life of the asset will be extended to the period 13 and 14. (i.e period 1 and 2 of next year). and the depreciation will be calculated for period 1 and 2 of next year.
    Thanks

  • Depreciation for the Financial Year 2007-08

    Dear All,
How to run  the Depreciation for the Financial Year 2007-08, without disturbing the Depreciation of Financial Year 2006-07.
    kindlly send me details desprications
    Regards
    Pritpal

Posting Depreciation is a periodic activity. Depreciation is posted every priod by AFAB by aseet accountants. However it is not necessory that you need to run AFAB when you are in the current period. You can run it any time; subjected your financial accounting is open for that period. In your case you need to run AFAB for every priod from 2006 to 2007. After each year is completed, you may need to run ASKBN for APC periodic posting and cose that FY in Asset account by AJAB open new FY by AJRW (Eg. 2008).

  • HT201504 2015 Calendar font for the month in IPhote is too small.  How do I make it larger?

I have created a 2015 calendar in IPhoto but the month is printed in a tiny font.  I can't make it larger. The 2014 calendar used a large font for the month.  How can I resolve this so can actually read the name of the month without my glasses?

That was just a test.  It showed that your current library is damaged and needs repairing. Do the following to your current library:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • How do you run depreciation for a Particular range of assets??

    Dear Gurus,
Assets is a fairly new area for me – I have created several new ASSETS in one of our company codes.
I have now been asked to RUN DEPRECIATION.
Please can you kindly let me know (Step by Step Instructions) on How to Run Depreciation for an Asset via a particular co-code?
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks
    RICK

    Hi,
If you have completed all depreciation related configs,
then, you can use T Code AFAB, there, give the following parameters,
Company code, Fiscal year, posting period, click on the planned depreciation run, and give the range of main / sub asset numbers in the bottom parameters for test run.
And execute, it will post the depreciation if it is not posting, then it will give you the error log.
While running actual run, it is advised to run in backround.
    Hope it clears you doubt.

  • What criteria should I use for the monthly updates

I am just starting to setup Software Update for SCCM 2012 R2. The configuration is done with the Classifications and Products selected and working.  I selected the Classifications:
    Critical Updates
    Definition Updates
    Security Updates
    Service Packs
    Update Rollups
    Updates
Now I am just looking for the criteria to use for my Software Update Groups.
I watched this GREAT VIDEO "SCCM 2012 SP1 and the new way handling Software Updates explained", URL:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/video/sccm-2012-sp1-and-the-new-way-handling-software-updates-explained.aspx regarding the "new way" we are to be doing the groups and updates.  The video is
very informative and explains a lot, but it does not say what criteria is used.
This is the breakdown from the video, but again it doesn't say what criteria may be:
     • Keep Software Update Groups (SUG) Limited to 1,000 updates
     • Don't split products into different SUG's
     • Enabled Delta replication for the Software Update Points (SUP)
     • Set High priority for the Software Distribution Group
    Software Update Groups
     • Exceptions group (not to deploy)
     • TMG Definition Updates
     • SCEP 2012 Definition Updates
     • Outlook Definition Updates
     • 2003-2010_All Updates
     • 2011_All Updates
     • 2012_All Updates
     • 2013-01_All Updates
     • 2013-02_All Updates
    Deployment Packages
     • TMG Definition Updates
     • SCEP 2012 Definition Updates
     • Outlook Definition Updates
     • 2003-2010_All Updates
     • 2011_All Updates
     • 2012_All Updates
     • 2013_All Updates
    Automatic Deployment Rules
     • Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013 Definition Updates
      ○ Run after synchronization
     • Monthly Updates
      ○ Every Month on day 16 of the month
      ○ Uncheck "Enable the deployment after this rule is run
     • SCEP 2012 Definition Updates
      ○ Run after synchronization
     • TMG Definition Updates
      ○ Run after updates
I am specifically looking mostly for the Monthly updates and to make sure they are only those needed.  Most I have seen use:
    Superseded:  No
    Expired:  No
    Bulletin starts with "MS"
I don't really know what the "MS" limits things to.  Sorry a lot of information and not very clearly laid out.

    Superseded:  No
    Expired:  No
    Bulletin starts with "MS"
I don't really know what the "MS" limits things to.
I use a similar approach, as one part of my routine.
When you filter/search on Superseded=NO, that discards the updates which are flagged as superseded, but this depends totally upon your routine and understanding of the nature of supersedence, and it's also time-sensitive, since CM12 will by default, kill off
superseded updates after a time. A Superseded update *is* deployable, but you'd likely only do that, if the superseding update is unsuitable for your environment for some reason, e.g. it introduces a bug or regression that you can't afford.
Expired=NO, well, again that's to limit your filter/search results. Since an expired update is not deployable, why bother to have it in your results list, if you are building a deployment. It's handy to know that something is, or has become, expired, if
you are troubleshooting or analysing a "why did/didn't xyz happen?", but for deploying, expired updates are just useless clutter.
Bulletin starts with "MS" can be handy to filter out the "non-security" updates, since "security" updates are always issued with an MSyy-nnn bulletin ID.
Note that the bizarre MS definition of "security update" does not mean that security bulletins cover *all* security-related updates, since there are updates that are released, which do provide security fixes, enhancement, etc, but they don't always attract
a security bulletin ID, so it really pays to look at "starts with MS" and also "does not start with MS" - I use both, when searching/filtering, as a way to slice the assessment/analysis task in "half" (not evenly sliced ;).
And also note that some updates (security advisories, hotfixes, rollups) may not fall into the classification you might expect, or, might not be published into the MU/WSUS catalog feed at all..
An example of a unexpected classification, is the recent 2917500, which is classified under "Feature Packs", even though it is an updated set of revoked root certificates (due to yet another compromised root CA cert). [I noted you didn't mention the Feature
Packs classification, you might want to revisit that choice...]
Personally, I'm not yet using ADRs, not because I don't like them, but because our security ops team are being especially painful at the moment and keep changing their mind about stuff, plus, we are undergoing a massive application change cycle and the change/release
    team are hypersensitive just now.
One method I also use, is to periodically run the "updates needed but not deployed" report, as it reveals to me where I need to sync a new product, or have overlooked an update or misunderstood/incorrectly assessed as "we don't need that, or that doesn't
apply to us". it also reveals where I have mucked up and not been diligent about taking a templated approach to deployments, e.g. if I forget to distribute to all DPs or whatever.
I find that even though I might take what I consider to be a very generic approach, others in the forums clearly have different environments/operational models to me, and different needs. For patching, I mainly focus on Windows client OS and Office,
and not really on Windows server OS, since somebody else handles server builds and patching in my org.

  • Depreciation for full month

    Hi Friends.
My client requirement is to provide the depreciation for the full month in the year of acquisitiona as well as sale.  For example, if an asset is acquired on 10th of a month, the system should calculate depreciation for the full month though the asset is not held during the first 10 days.  Similarly at the time of sale also.
Your answers carry more weightage with good appreciation.
    Regards.

    Hi,
For this you have to set up:
2 new period controle rule's     TC OAVS
    Define Calender Assignments  TC OAVH
Maintain Period Control Methods TC AFAMP
You have to assign this to your depreciation key TC AFAMA (perhaps a new depreciation key)
It the depreciation key the the follow options should not be selected:
    Dep. to the day
