Robohelp 8 File Publishing Issues

I’ve recently had to transfer my work to another Robohelp 8 user in my department.
I’ve copied all of the necessary files and folders needed to this person. She is then able to open the project and update it as necessary, but an issue arises when she attempts to publish the files to our server (we don’t experience any issues when we’re generating the primary layout).
As soon as she attempts to publish the file (after Generate Primary Layout) she gets the following error message:
“Robohelp 8 failed to create file: bkg_toc_metal.gif”
What I don’t understand is that she’s using the exact same files that I've been using, and I don't have any issues publishing to the server with them.
Is there a better way of sharing projects between Robohelp 8 users? (we currently copy the file folders to a USB drive and then access these files on her machine). I haven’t been able to find other way to export the project.
We are both using the same version number of Robohelp 8 (8.0.2.208)
Any help would appreciated!
-André

In theory you can copy and paste between drives and most times it works fine. Sometimes though we see people having problems that go away when they zip the project and move that. No logical reason but it works.

  • Publishing RoboHelp 9 files into SharePoint 2010

Does anyone know why I continually get an invalid SharePoint path when trying to publish from "Robo into SharePoint? Do I need to choose a particular workspace template when I am in SharePoint?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't copy the URL from the web window that you open to access the intended SharePoint directory - seeing as that has a bunch of view information in the URL:
For example - here's a URL NOT to use:
    http://foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit/Forms/AllItems.aspx?Ro otFolder=%2fteams%2finfrastructure%2fDoc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit%2fRoboHelp%2fVPN&FolderCT ID=&View=%7bA1B4DCFF%2d9FC9%2d4565%2d8779%2dB0F10BAFFA30%7d
Instead, the URL should be as follows - except take out the "%20" for spaces - as well as the "http:" part
    http://foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit/RoboHelp/VPN/
    so - ultimately
    //foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc Pipeline and Edit/RoboHelp/VPN/
If you're unsure exactly what the path should be, create the desired destination folder on your sharepoint site.
Copy one file into the desired destination folder.
Right click on the file and select "Properties"
Copy the Address (URL) that you see in the Properties window.
Use that as the URL in the RoboHelp output Properties > Publish field, and then remove the "http:", any "%20" space characters (easier just to leave spaces out of your sharepoint directory names), and the file name at the end of the path (so just the directory path remains, not the full directory path/filename).

  • Published swf and html file viewing issues.

    Greetings,
I design web banners and used to, with Flash 8, sedn my
clients the published *.html and *.swf files to download onto their
desktops so they could view the banner. With Flash CS3 this doesn't
seem to be working the same way. It keeps giving them the window
that says something about "ac_runactivescript.js". How come this
never did this with Flash 8?

click file/publish settings/formats, make sure the swf and html boxes are selected, and click the use default names button.  then click file/publish.  are the files in your directory with your fla?
if not, create a new directory (that has no subdirectories), save your fla to that new directory using a new name (ie, click file/save as).  then click file/publish.  check the new directory for your 3 files.

  • RoboHelp changes file name to lowercase

I am using RH X5.0.2 (running on Win XP SP2) to import HTML files as topics. The primary layout is Microsoft HTML Help.
The original HTML file names are mixed case, but when the files are imported into RoboHelp, the file names are changed to all lowercase. For example, GL_Audit.htm is changed to gl_audit.htm. This is an issue because the topic title reflects the file name, and I need the topic title to retain the mixed case of the original files.
After I import the file, I have to manually change the topic title. However, RoboHelp does not like it when the title has an underscore. If I change gl_audit to GL_Audit and click OK, the change is not saved. But if I change gl_audit to GLAudit and click Apply, and then change it to GL_Audit, the change is saved.
I am using an existing project that was created by someone else a long time ago. Here are the steps that I am following:
    1. Right-click the destination folder, and then click Import.
    2. At the Import File screen, select the desired file, for example, GL_Audit.htm, and click Open. The file is imported as a topic.
    3. Right-click the topic, and click Properties. Note that the Topic Tile is gl_audit, and the file name is gl_audit.htm.
    4. In the Topic Title field, type GL_Audit, and click OK. Note that the Topic title is still gl_audit, and not GL_Audit.
    5. Open the Topic Properties screen again.
    6. In the Topic Title field, type GLAudit, and click Apply.
    7. In the Topic Title field, enter an underscore between the L and the A so that the topic title is GL_Audit.
    8. Click OK. Not that the topic title is saved as it was typed -- in mixed case.
If I can get RH to import the files without changing the original case, it will not matter that it takes two steps to change the topic title name.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Ashley

    Hi again
Ashley, how are these HTML pages being created? I ask because I performed a small test. While the import process did indeed convert the file name to all lower case, it ignored the Topic Title. However, if I didn't have a Topic Title defined, it did create one that was all lower case.
I'm thinking that whatever tool that was used to create the topics you are importing didn't properly configure a proper Title Tag.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Project Siena app Publish Issue

    Hi all,
I have just started creating Siena App and created simple translator app, its working fine but when I try to publish it using File-->Publish it shows me a warning prompt saying "Download Update require" when I click on "Download" the
another windows appears and says "Error while Downloadin".
Can you please tell me what is the reason behind such an issue. I searched on the net but could not find helpful answer and any post related to its resolution.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

What Thor is suggesting is reasonable but it is odd if there is some restriction. The download update required is going to open web site.
I would suggest trying this again and if it continues to fail, you might want to capture a Fiddler trace and we can take a look at it.

  • How to upgrade Robohelp X5 files to Robohelp 7 without broken links ?

How to upgrade Robohelp X5 files to Robohelp 7 without broken links ? And also i need proper procedure for migrating Robohelp X5 to Robohelp 7 that does not affect the system performance due to .cpd file.

Upgrading from 5 to 7 should be as simple as opening the project and I don't recall it giving any broken link problems. Is your project on your local drive rather than a network drive? Is source control involved?
What's the basis for thinking the CPD will cause performance issues?

  • How big is my site? Could size cause publishing issues?

How can I find out if my site will fit in the available space on my mobileme prior to publishing? I had a site published, using a personal domain, prior to the conversion from .mac to mobileme. I recently made changes/additions to the site, and now it won't publish. I've double checked my forwarding and CNAME information and all seems to be correct. The site publishes to a folder without any problems, but not to mobileme, even when I use Publish All. Could the publishing issues be related to the size of the site?

I've been using Host Excellence for a number of years. Their reliability is good as is their tech support.
I particularly like the way I can name my own root folders and the ease and speed of registering a domain name and setting up a new site.
I wouldn't want to think about how big my latest site is getting.
http://www.iwebformusicians.com/ is built on ten different domain files for ease of updating and way quicker uploading. This is another approach you could consider.

  • How to publish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 using the File ➙ Publish to Folder option??

I was just given the following advice regarding publishing to an FTP other than MobileMe.
Web 08 does not have that feature (drop down menu to publish from "site" icon).  You will need to upgrade to iWeb 3 in iLife 11 in order to get that feature.  You can get iLife 11 at the online Apple Store while supplies last since iWeb (and iDVD) have been discontinued by Apple
To pubish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 use the File ➙ Publish to Folder menu option and then use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck to upload the site files.
Follon-on question, can anyone provide more details on how to do exactly what was suggested?  I toyed with it and can only get it to publish to a folder on my desktop, but not to an external FTP.  (I have already purchased a web-host package, just need to publish to it!)

Okay.  When you publish your site from iWeb to a local folder what you will get is one site folder - this site folder will have the same name as you gave your site in iWeb and one separate index.html file.
Your site folder contains an index.html file as well as the separate index.html file.  You NEED both.
What you need to do is firstly using Cyberduck or whatever, upload your site folder to your host into whatever folder you need to upload to on the server - could be 'public_html', 'htdocs' or whatever - this is your root folder.
You then need to upload your separate index.html file to your server too, but this index file needs to sit outside your site folder because it needs to point in towards the index.html file that is in your site folder - this is the first page of your site.
You don't delete or duplicate any index files - iWeb produces the two index files that you need when you publish to a local folder - one index file in the site folder itself and one separate index file that sits outside the site folder and points into the first page of your site.
Also, remember to call the first page of your site something like Home or Welcome, but DO NOT name it index.
By the looks of things here you have not uploaded your index files correctly.
What I would suggest that you do is start over - so open Cyberduck and connect to your server and go and delete your site folder and your other index file if it is still there.
Go back to iWeb and publish to a local folder again and notice that you have both your site folder and separate index.html file.
Now go and open Cyberduck again and connect to your server and note where you need to upload your files to.
Now go and upload your Site Folder to your server and once this has finished go back and upload your separate index.html file, but this needs to sit outside your site folder.  If you do this, then your site should display okay - as long as your other index file is pointing into to the first page of your site it should display correctly.

  • PS CS3, Camera Raw 4.6 Update and Nikon D810 NEF File Reading Issue

      Currently Have Photoshop CS3 & Adobe Bridge CS3 2.1.1.9.
According to Adobe, Camera Raw 4.6 supports Nikon D810 NEF files.  I have downloaded Camera Raw 4.6 Update. When
I try to open Nikon D810 NEF files, I get Photoshop CS3  error that says
"cannot complete request your because it is not the right kind of
document. These NEF files wont open in Adobe Bridge at all.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hey,
Before I purchased, let me get your thoughts on another option that just occurred to me which involves:
1)Editing my D810 NEF files in LR 5.6, which I have, then exporting/saving the edited files as JPEGs.
    2) Doing any additional editing, as necessary (i.e. that might require layering or selections..etc) , with the JPEGs  with Bridge or PS CS3.
This method wont involve any additional software purchase now.. right?    Am I missing anything.   here?    Since my final output to my customers are JPEGs any way, wont this work?   Will I be at any disadvantage.   Am I missing anything.   here?

  • Recording File Size issue CS 5.5

I am using CS 5.5, a Balckmagic Ultra Studio Pro through USB 3.0 being fed by a Roland HD Video switcher. Everything is set for 720P 60fps (59.94) and the Black Magic is using the Motion JPEG compression. I am trying to record our sermons live onto a Windows 7 machine with an Nvidia Ge-Force GTX 570, 16 GB of Ram and a 3TB internal raid array (3 drives). It usually works great but more often now when I push the stop button in the capture window, the video is not proceesed and becomes unusable. Is it a file size issue or what. I get nervous when my recording goes longer than 50 Minutes. Help

Jim thank you for the response. I have been away and busy but getting
    caught up now.
I do have all drives formatted as NTFS. My problem is so sporadic that I
can not get a pattern down. This last Sunday recorded fine so we will see
how long it last. Thanks again.

  • Folio Producer fails to update older published issues

A client wants me to update an advertisement in several past issues including issues published in January and February 2012.
I updated the article in the folio and go to the Folio Producer to update the published issue, but either immediately get a failed attempt or it will process up to 20% before failing. I have tried publishing multiple times and it constantly fails.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
    Why can't I update?

What do you see when you click the 'Failed' link. There should be an error message there.

If you haven't done: +File > Publish All to MobileMe+ from iWeb since this problem arose, it could be worth trying. Sometimes problems such as this disappear after simply re-publishing everything.

I am having a file moving issue with Adobe Reader XI on a Windows 7 32bit system. When Adobe reader is set as the default program for PDF files moving files from one directory to another takes over a minute, regardless of the size of the file. When the default handler is set to another program, like Nuance or PDF Creator, this is instant. What in Adobe Reader is causing this and what can I do to speed up file moving? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am using Windows 7 home edition and using Internet Explorer 10
The PDF's are online on websites that I am trying to open.  Both on the site as well as trying in a new window.
