SLD Content Synchronization - PI 7.0

Hello folks!
I have a question for you: I have two PI, a DEV System and a PRD system. We are using PI 7.0 SP 18
Before starting to export the data to PRD, I'd like to synchronize the recently installed SLD PRD system with the DEV SLD server.
I read this article:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/46/2f42f114bc59bde10000000a155369/content.htm
Where says:
The SLD content synchronization is fully supported by AS Java 7.1 and above. Additionally, an SLD of version 7.0 SP12 and above can be used as source system for unidirectional synchronization only. Systems with version 7.0 do not support the notification of listener systems.
So, as I have SP 18 it could be feasible, but all the guides I've found were talking about PI 7.1.
Does anybody know the steps to do it in 7.0 ? I'd like to have PRD server taking the info from the DEV one.
Thanx in advance,
Juan

You can achieve that by using an SLD bridge. If you have installed multiple SLD servers, the SLD bridge can be configured to send data to each of these servers. This is described on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/da21ba13660aa5e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

  • SLD Content Synchronization

    Quick question.
    I have 3 SLD's.
    SLD A is a central.
    SLD B is a local
    SLD C is a local
I want SLD A to Bridge Forward to Both SLD B and SLD C. A unidirectional synchronization.
I'm I correct to say to set this up, I need to go into the SLD Administration of SLD B and C, under content synchronization and setup these connection?
Or do i go into SLD A and setup a connection to push to SLD B and C.
I guess the question is where to i make the config? In the Target( SLD B/C) or Source (SLD A)?

    Hello Joshua
As there is no Visual Admin in NW 7.4 based systems you will need to configure the SLD in the NWA
Check SLD configuration part of this blog for reference.

  • Content Synchronization missing from sld administration

We're running solman 7.1 and have an sld loaded. According to the doc when I go into the sld administration I should see a "Content Synchronization" link. What I see is "content maintenance" and no content synch within that. Anybody know how to stop/start content resynch in sld administration?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
Sounds like your SLD does not have latest versions of CIM model and CR content. Please check the minimum version of CIM model and CR content required for SLD 7.1.
Note  669669 will help you to determine the current version of CIM model and CR content.
    Thanks,

  • SLDCHECK error-Check and maintain the SLD content for the current client

    Hi experts,
I am trying to configure PI on QAS box and getting this error when I ran SLD check. This is the only warning/error I am getting in YELLOW and the other messages were in green so thinking that is ok.

I went through some threads and readiness check document but not able to get it resolved because I am a developer and not sure about exact steps. Please give me if you have any feedback and if there is admin jobs involved I will get BASIS help but it is totally my responsibilty to get the system up and running. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Mithun,
Let me know if there is any recent changes/Patching/Upgradatiions in your server....
Perform Cacherefresh both in ABAP and JAVA Stacks..
For ABAP level cache go to SXI_CACHE -> RUNTIME->START DELTACACHE REFRESH
    >>>>SXI_CACHE -> RUNTIME->COMPLETE CACHE REFRESH
    CPACACHE:
For complete cache refresh u2013 http://<hostname>:<port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full

  • SAP third party Pre-delivered SLD Content - Product and SWCVs

    Hi All,
I have started this thread on LinkedIn and I wanted it to be viewed by all of you for your valuable suggestions and thus from SAP too... The thread is [here|http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers? viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=20482912&gid=81282&commentID=16700717&trk=view_disc ]

Here is the thread content until now -
    Hi All,
I have been working on integration of our product with SAP. We wanted our SLD objects for the product and the swcs to be delivered as part of SAP's pre-delivered SLD content, so that the client could simply import our design objects in to their PI landscape (Similar to how SAP provides PI content on service market place. We do have partnership with SAP and this product integration was not yet certified by SAP. However, they SAP agreed to supply our product and SWCs as part of the standard SAP CIM modal content).
How ever, even when we gave our SLD export to SAP, when the latest CIM modal for SLD from SAP got released, we were surprised to see that, our product and SWCvs are created with the vendor name "sap.com". This absolutely makes our product and swcvs unusable as we would not be able to look at them in the SPROXY on application systems. This was the same case with an older client that I worked with too..!! Any one had similar experience with this? Shouldn't SAP
be creating them with vendor as "<vendor>.com"? At least, our product is not owned by SAP..!!
We all know that, if sap.com is the vendor for SLD objects, only SAP could provide the proxy implementations through an SAP support pack.
Could someone from SAP PI Techies understand my point and care to respond?

  • Transfer SLD content between SLDs in SLD 640

Is it possible to transfer content between two SLD systems in SLD version 640?
1.) I have  a SLD (call it sldA) that contains the ABAP and JAVA data about DEV and QA system.
2.) I have another SLD (call it sldB) that contains the ABAP and JAVA data about my Production systems.
    I'm running SLD version 6.40.0 - not 700.
Is there a way to get the content of sldA into sldB and keep it syncronized? I'd like to maintain two distinct SLDs, but I'd like sldB to have information about the entire landscape. This would be a one way push from sldA to sldB. I'd like this to be an automatic process, not something I have to do manually.

Though I have not worked on such environment. Your query looks interesting...I tried to find something related.
About SLD I am sure you must be aware of "SLD Bridge Forwarding" , It exists in 700 and 6.40 as well...
Is it possible to transfer content between two SLD systems in SLD version 640?
As per the  [SLD6.40 Post Installation |https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001149582007E] Document I think it is possible.
You might have already checked this document, If not please check page 12.
It says you need to check gateway connections & RFCs and also need to update CIM contents.(Note 669669)
To forward data from QA& DEV to Prod - Configure the bridge between this and If you do not want to receive data from ABAP systems in your SLD, set the parameter StartRfcServer to false.( Check this [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/da21ba13660aa5e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm])
I think this will make your process automatic from sldA to sldB and also you will get entire landscape information in sldB (Correct me if I am wrong)
Let us know if it was helpful....
    Cheers

  • Update SLD content on PI system

    Dear all,
I am new to NWA environment in basis , i have been given task to update the SLD on PI system running on AIX/oracle platform to CIM version 1.5.40 and CR Content version SAP_CR 4.11 after backing up first.
Could anybody give me procedure to backup SLD data and update the same to version mentioned above.
Also in service.sap.com/swdc , where can i find location for download for mentioned patches.
Please provide me path for the same.

  • Unable to Import SLD Content

    Dear colleagues,
    I have successfully upgraded SAP_CR 4.0 to SAP_CR 6.0, but when i am
trying to upgrading using #CRDelta71603_0-20008269.zip#  file from
SAP_CR 6.0 to 7.3 getting the "The selected aggregate import is not

    20008269.zip".
Kindly update what could be the reason its not upgrading to SAP_CR 7.3
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hello Chandra and Abhishek,
another reason for this issue is that there might be a problem with a previous import, and this is why the temp namespace is still present. You should remove this (sld/import/temp0)in the Administration Section -> Namespaces and then restart the SLD. After this you can return the import.
Please also have a look at the following note:

  • SLD Content Maintenance

    Hi all,
we are able to see the adapters configured in our adapter engine. But we are not able to see the RFC,IDOC adapters here in SLD. The path where we verified the same is
    SLD->Administration->Content Maintenance.
Choose the subset Landscape-> Class->XI Adapter Services.
Is there any configuration to be made to get the missing adapters into SLD.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
I think the BASIS Team has gone through or implemented this OSS note as it is mention in the blog above. However the problem still persists.

  • Live SLD Content Imports

Does anyone know if CR and CIM imports have to be done during system outages or can it be run safely during business hours while EP and XI systems are using the SLD?  I have noticed in the logs that it appears to load up a "shadow" schema and then delete it when it is done, leading me to believe that the actual impact to live systems would be minimal or none.  The other alternative I have considered is moving live systems over to a copy of the SLD and then reconfiguring when the original SLD is updated, but this also creates some impact if the SLD is required during configuration move.
Any thoughts or documentation on this question would be appreciated.
    Phil

I think it's not neccesar to do it downtime
    1) Import of CR might take few hours, for example mission critical XI system usually doesn't have few hours for the downtime.
    2) CIM and CR content update should be delta content, it shouldn't effect the part which is already in use.
The wiki page mentioned above didn't talk about the outage for the SLD CIM and CR update.
    Cheers,
    Denny

  • Strategy/Recommendations for SLD content

    Hi All,
lets take below business case of a project:
    there are 3 non-SAP applications.
    nonSapApplOne_Java
    nonSapApplTwo_DotNet
    nonSapApplThree_CustomLegacy
    there are 2 SAP applications.
    sapApplFour_ECC6_Module_HCM
    sapApplFour_ECC6_Module_FICO
    sapApplFive_R3
I would like to know the options/recomendations for creating Products/SWCVs and BusinessSystems.
    e.g.
should we create each product for each application (for each sap and nonsap applications)?
should we create one product for nonSAP applications, and one product for SAP applications?
should we create one product for entire project, and a SWCV for each application (for each nonsap and sap application)?
or can we represent/separate the applications by namespaces within same SWCV?
should we create a separate SWCV for storing the objects that use multiple applications design objects e.g. mapping objects, process integration scenarios etc.?
for each SAP module like HCM, FICO, should there be different namespaces when integrating with other applications.
do we need to use business system groups for organising sap and nonsap business systems.?
these mostly need to be designed/decided in the beginning of the project, as it forms the base of the rest of the deveopment.
Can you pls share your comments and recommendations for above kind of queries.
    thanks in advance,
    Madhu.

should we create one product for entire project, and a SWCV for each application (for each nonsap and sap application)?
I am not sure what is meant by a Product! The creation of a SWCV should be related to a business unit that your organization has (at least we follow this practice). Suppose your organization has three Business Units (Sales, Manufacturing, Maintenance) then in such a case you can create three different SWCV with each containing BU-specific development. So all the development related to Sales will come under the SWCV for sales and so on.
or can we represent/separate the applications by namespaces within same SWCV?
answer as implied above.....not a good practice to develop namespaces based on the applications...namespaces should be related to the interface name...say you have an interface for salesorder transfer from system X to Y then your namespace should reflect salesorder in it and if you have multiple salesorder processes then you can append some terms to the NS which will help differentiate between the individual SO processes.
should we create a separate SWCV for storing the objects that use multiple applications design
objects e.g. mapping objects, process integration scenarios etc.?
If you mean object reuse...then you can define a common namespace within a SWCV and develop the commonly used objects in it and then refer these in other flows (namespaces) defined within the SWCV.
for each SAP module like HCM, FICO, should there be different namespaces when integrating with other applications.
Suppose you have 5 different Integrations involving HCM ---> FICO (or other combination) then your namespaces should be in such a way that there is a clear differentiation between the 5 integrations
For more information on how your objects should be defined you can go through this document:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/90b213c2-d311-2a10-89bf-956dbb63aa7f
All the above mentioned points are my personal...the implemenation should be in accordance to the best practices suggested by SAP and secondly according to the organizational needs.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • SLD Bridge vs SLD Synchronization

    Hi all,
Can you please explain the differences between SLD Bridge versus SLD Synchronization ?
And why and when to choose one option over the other ?
    Thanks alot.

    Hi Nadir,
As of version 7.1 the SLD content Sync should be available.

The user you have configured in the bridge need to be valid

  • SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) Privileges

    Hello everyone,
I'm not really sure if this is the correct place to start this discussion, but any help and support is really appreciated.
The question is as follows: is it possible to define object privileges in SLD such as Products, Software Component Versions, Technical Systems and Business System for example, to define which user can modify a Technical System? I assume there's is a way by role and groups on the UME to define privileges to display or modify objects in whole SLD, but I don't know if on a lower level this is possible.
thanks in advance for help and support.
    Regards,
    Julio Cesar

    Hello Julio,
I am not sure if you can define certain UME actions for objects within the SLD. These objects are usually maintained by a SLD administrator. There is however a way to create a new UME role and assign new SLD action to it.
In your Web browser, enter the URL of the Identity Management using the following format:http://<host>:<port>/useradmin .
Create user groups and UME roles of your choice and assign each UME role to the appropriate user group(s) as well as to the UME action(s). You can use the predefined UME roles as a template so create your own UME roles (as descibed in the table above).
If you want to create a UME role for SLD content synchronization or for SLD administration, you need to assign the Destination_Service_Write_Permission  UME action, which belongs to thetc~sec~destinations~service service, to your own UME role.
For more information about which UME actions there are available I suggest to use the following site:

  • Two SLDs with separate XI-systems behind - transport content

    Hello,
we have two SLDs, one for dev. Xi and one for prod XI.
So per SLD only one XI is known.
On SLD dev we implemented all required R/3 systems and included the transport groups to the systems and the transport connection (dev. syst to prod. syst).
So here the prod R/3 has as connected XI the dev XI!
Now we want to move the content of the dev SLD to the prod SLD.
What will happen to the related XI system in the business systems.
Do we have only have to change them in the destination prod. SLD?
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi Shankar,
thanks for the detailed work on my question.
Unfortunately it wasn´t me who had to organize the environment.
Customer made the installation and then was asking for external consultancy.
So the situation was fixed a little bid away from simple logic.
For a go live at end of the year we will use this construction.
Next year customer plans to implement a new central SLD (including portals issues).
Then we will do another move with our SLD content.
Until then customers Xi guys can train a little bit on moving SLD content
to ensure that both SLDs have the same systems implemented.
    Only to complete that:
To use transport groups you need prod XI and dev XI both on one SLD else you cannot link the R/3 systems to dev and prod area because transport groups have to be linked to the XI systems on the SLD.
So, my question was a little bit useless!
We had no prod XI available on the dev SLD.
From this issue my question was coming up.
We will add the dev XI to the prod SLD too.
Then moving content won´t cause any problems, I think!
    Regards
    Dirk
