Tftp on Labview 2010 and windows 7

I am having difficulty running tftp on my Labview 2010 on windows 7 using the system exec vi. I already enabled tftp client on windows 7. What is interesting is that tftp runs when I execute it directly from the command prompt but gives an error when I try using the system exec vi. The error says tftp is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file . Please help. I have attached the vi I used

If you use system exec, you either have to specify the entire path to the executable or if it is a system utility, launch the Windows Command Shell utility first with "cmd /c" and prepend the rest of your command after that. System Exec is NOT the Windows command shell but simply a way to spawn a new process. As such it has no notion of "Windows", "System32" and what else directories to search for unqualified command utilities. The only paths it probably will recognize for such unqualified commands is the "current directory path" and possibly the directories in the PATH environment variable. It won't look for directory paths that are specified for the Windows Shell in the registry.

  • Printing LabView 2010 in Windows 7

I recently upgraded to LabView 2010 and Windows 7 and now I cannot print my anything from within LabView, I have to pdf the page and then print the pdf.  All other applications print fine.  When I print from LabView I get the following on my printer:
    PCL XL error
    Subsystem: KERNEL
    Error: Illegal Tag
    Operator: PassThrough
    Position: 15

Are you using 64-bit or 32-bit LabVIEW and are you using 32-bit or 64-bit windows?
You mention you get that error text on your printer, is that on a display screen on the printer or does it actually print that?
How are you exporting it to a PDF?
Have you tried printing to any other printer other than HP?  I remember last year someone had a really strange printer issue that only affected HP printers on LabVIEW 2009 32-bit in Vista 64-bit.  I was able to reproduce it with pretty much any HP printer, but other printers worked fine.  Maybe this is somehow related.

  • I do not have the daq assistant vi on my labview 2010 and have found no drivers for it what should i do

I do not have the daq assistant vi on my labview 2010 and have found no drivers for it. I downloaded the service pack but  that did not have it either what should i do.

    Hi Youzhang He,
Did you install LabVIEW first on your PXIe 8102 before the drivers?  Most likely, you're missing LabVIEW support for your DAQmx drivers. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. What you should do is open Add/Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software, select Uninstall/Repair. In the window that pops up listing NI software, select NI-DAQmx 9.x and select Modify. In the window that appears, expand Application Development Support and select to install LabVIEW support.  From here complete the install process and restart your system.  LabVIEW support should be installed and DAQ Assistant should appear in your palette.

  • I am using MS Office 2010 and Windows XP Professional, can I use iCloud for backup of my files and documents?

I am using MS Office 2010 and Windows XP Professional, can I use iCloud for backup of my files and documents? I am planning to transition to a Mac so using the iCloud seems to make the most sence.

No, it is not a backup method at all.  If you delete a sync'd file on any device, you delete it permanently from iCloud.  That by its very essence is not a backup solution therefore.  A backup solution does not automatically and simultaneiously delete the file everywhere when it is deleted from the original source.
iCloud is strictly a syncronization tool for using files on multiple internet connected devices.

  • Strange problem of calling library function node in labview 2010 and 2011

one year ago,I develop a program to usb device data and it works well,in labview 8.6 or 2009(win xp).Recently, When I test
the program in labview 2010 and labview 2011(win xp).,the program always crash immediately.I check the program and find main
problem is in call library function node. In my program,I use labview 2009 library for the USBExpress driver for
    Silicon Labs USB MCU's from:https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-9522,for example, 2 functions SI_OPEN and SI_READ
    can not work well.
the header definition of SI_OPEN and SI_READ is:
    SI_STATUS WINAPI SI_Open(
    DWORD dwDevice,
    HANDLE* cyHandle
    SI_STATUS WINAPI SI_Read(
    HANDLE cyHandle,
    LPVOID lpBuffer,
    DWORD dwBytesToRead,
    LPDWORD lpdwBytesReturned,
    OVERLAPPED* o = NULL
the SI_STATUS is equivalent to int type.
orignally, for HANDLE * in SI_Open, the parameter type in call library function node is numeric, data format is unsigned 32 bit integer ,and pass pointer to value.
for HANDLE in SI_Read, the parameter type in call library function node is numeric, data format is unsigned 32 bit integer ,and pass value. The program works well in labview 8.6&2009,however,crash in labview 2010 &2011.
later,I debug the program, for HANDLE *, I choose parameter type in call library function node as adapt to type, data format is point to Handles.for HANDLE, I choose parameter type in call library function node as adapt to type, data format is Handles by Value.Crash not happend in labview 2010&2011,however,it cannot read any data from from USB device correctly as before.I can not find the reason.
Dear friends,I need your help to answer the problem. Thank you.

Based on the help page it looks like it should execute asynchronously.
The thing in the description that leads me to believe they execute asynchronously is that you can configure the library to run as a multi-threaded operation.
Please take a look here to see the difference between synchronous and asynchronous execution.
Since the code even has the ability to be multi-threaded, you can consider it as running in parallel to your other code.
Any data returned is passed to the thread that called that function.

  • ICloud , Outlook 2010 and Windows 8 synchronization issues

Everything was working fine under Windows 7.  Outlook 2010 and IPad Contacts and Calendar were syncing perfectly.  Once Windows 8 was installed problems arose.  If I entered or updated a Contact or Calendar item in Outlook 2010 it synced perfectly with iCloud and the IPad.  However, if I entered data for a Contact or Calendar item on the IPad, it found its way to iCloud but did not update the item on Outlook.  I've tried reistalling iCloud software with no success.  Any ideas???

I have exactly the same problem with Windows 7.  The Sent folder has lots in it on icloud and my other devices, but is empty on the Outlook client on my PC.  The sent folder is a "special" foder for iMap and is permenantly selected for syncing.
I switched off the iCloud mail in the control panel and then added it again with now luck.
Did you manage to get it working?

  • Labview 2010 and MSSCCI Source Control for TFS

    Hi,
I am trying to get Labview to work with the MS TFS source control using the MSSCCI provider. In our team we are using the TFS to manage a number of Visual Studio projects and i need to integrate labview into the existing source control.
Having said that, I am having an issue selecting the MSSCCI provider in the labview source control window, when I select it i get the following error message:
    "Error -2971 occurred at prefPage_Source Control.vi
    Possible Reason(s):
LabVIEW:  An error occurred while accessing the source control provider. The specified provider was not found."
Now i looked up that error code and it has somethint to do with some PerForce source control client, which I am not using.
Just for giggles, I installed the new PerForce client as per the following LV article http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9C42F3F1627CE0A78625768F007A7D03
but that did not help, now I have the PerForce client as an option in the SourceControl Provider name in LV (which i do not need) and labview still complains when I try to pick the TFS MSSCCI provider.
Any help could be greatly appriciated.

Out of curiosity, what registry values do you see in the "InstalledSCCProviders" key in the registry editor? The value data should point to the key that the "SCCServerName" value is at. In other words, the underlined portions below should match.
    Registry Key Location: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders
Value Name:               Microsoft Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider
Value Data:                 SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider
Registry Key Location: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider
    Value Name:               SCCServerName
Value Data:                 Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider
I was able to reproduce your error when I changed the value data so that the underlined portions above do not match; it may be that your issue is caused by a registry inconsistency.

  • Labview 2010 and internet toolkit 2012

We at our company are using labview 2010 for creating quick test applications.
I've recently created a program that uses features that are linked to the internet toolkit.
When creating an installer and installing the application on another system it didn't work, i later found out that you need internet toolkit installed in order to use these features.
In order to install the toolkit i have to install labview. Is it also possible to just have the runtime engine installed (2010 version) together with the interInternet toolkit 2012 in order to use these functions?

Like mentioned before the internet toolkit does not have to be installed on the target PC. If VI where missing from the executable, it will not run at all and return an error stating it is missing VI's. What I think happens is that the toolkit VI's are in an error state but since you do not stop the loop on an error the loop will just continue to run and because of the error it is not doing anything. You can do a couple of things:
    1. Debug the executable. How that is done is described in the following KB:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8DA679805915DE40862572D5007B2F70?OpenDocument
When you are connected to the running executable you can use the normal debugging methods like probes to see what happens. Especially the error line would be good to monitor.
    2. Let the loop stop on an error. The executable will then show the error (if any) in the error cluster.
    3. Monitor the error line within the loop to see if there is an error occurring.
Let me know what the outcome of one of these actions is.

  • Network variable don't work with VBAI 2010 and windows 7

    Hi,
I actually have an issue with 2 EVS 1464 (windows 7) and VBAI 2010.
I have to use network variables to allow communication between both EVS but I can't use it. My network is ok (I can make a ping betwen both equipement) but I can(t acces the network variable.
I have made a test with VBAI2011 EVS / VBAI2010 PC windows XP --> it works. (but I don't want to use VBAI 2011).
Have you got some solutions to solve my problem?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Here are several documents which could be useful for you :
    Using the LabVIEW Shared Variable
    Troubleshooting Network-Published Shared Variables
How Can I Use Shared Variables to Transfer Data from Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) ...
You can also try something. For this, you must go to the VBAI EXE here:
    For 32-bit machines:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 20XX\
    For 64-bit machines:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 20XX\
Right-Click on 'Vision Builder.exe' then select Properties.  Make sure that 'Run this program as an administrator' is checked.
Click OK and then try running VBAI again. You may have to re-deploy the variables in variable manager before they will properly work.

  • Print text file with labview 2011 and windows 7

I am having some strange problem, hope someone out there knows the solution.
We have a labview program running under windows xp, the program runs some test and print label from a local label printer. Last week, I have to upgrade the computer to windows 7 and all the sudden the printer will not print any more.
The print vi is very simple. I am using the report function and I am attaching the diagram of that vi below.
If I use windows notepad to open that small text file, I can print fine. This means the printer driver itself is OK. However, if I print the same text file through Labview printing vi, from the printer's task list, I can see it does not recognize the char. From the attached png file, the top one is the task from notepad, it shows 2 pages and the bottom one is from the labview, it becomes 33 pages.
For the printer part, I use Generic / Text Only printer driver which comes from windows itself. And I am aslo attaching a sample of the text file, there are quite a lot of special char, it is for print bar code. When I tried to use labview print text vi to print general text from my computer to a regular printer, the vi works. So it seems Labview print can not handle the special char? Although it worked many years under windows XP in the past.
    Welcome to any suggestions!
    Thanks

When I print from notepad, everything just goes by default. This is a label printer, so I never need to specify printing parameter such as size, orientation, etc in the past
Famous last words go something like this: "...never had to do that before."  Maybe you have to do that now.  It's worth at least comparing the defaults settings for bothe generic drivers.  It could save you a lot of headache if you notice something different.

  • Mac Mini 2010 and Windows 7

    Hello All,
I searched the forums to see if my question had already been answered, but I couldn't find it. My apologies in advance if this, in fact, is solved. I am having some issues with my installation of Windows 7 on my Mac Mini 2010 model 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo. I used boot camp to create a partition, installed windows 7 64 bit from a copy that I bought from school, and it did install.
    Problem 1
The problem that I am having is that the operating system states that 4GB of RAM is available and 3.5GB is usable. I currently have 8GB installed(Not factory, I purchased third party) and it reads fine in Mac OS X. Does anyone else have this problem or a similar one?
    Problem 2
The screen will not expand fully in Windows 7. I have an ASUS 21.5in HD screen that will display up to 1080p connected to the HDMI connection on my mac. When I boot up, the screen will display in a smaller size(about 3/4 the size of the screen) while the rest of the screen is black.
    What have I tried?
I have updated to the latest boot camp package on the Apple website to make sure I have the latest drivers for my NVIDIA GeForce 320M card.
I have tried playing with the resolution in Windows 7 to display the maximum possible resolution
I have made sure to install all Windows 7 updates.
    Problem 3
I don't have full access to the monitor menu. When I touch the menu button, I can only change the brightness, sharpness, and that is it. I can't do anything about expanding the screen, moving the screen left or right, etc.(If I did have these options, then problem #2 would be solved).
    Nothing has worked.
    What do I think...
I am thinking that it has something do with the fact that I am running the screen from the HDMI, although I don't really know why. It could also be the monitor. I could try to purchase the Mini Display Port adapter to see if that offers a better resolution, more freedom with my monitor, etc. This would fix problem 2 and 3. I did order a 24" Apple Cinema Display which will be here in a few days. If everything works with that, then I guess I wouldn't have a problem anymore, but I think it should still work with my existing monitor.
As for the first problem, I am at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for reading.

I completely agree with your assessment for Problem #1, but here we have it.
I will try re-installing and will also double check with the drivers for the monitor. Thanks for the advice. If all else fails, I will just use parallels.

  • PC Crash with Labview 7 and windows 2000

    Problem:
the PC does reboot without any prompt when a LV 7 vi is running; the reboot seems to occur randomly (no time dependent); sometimes instead of rebooting, the PC switches to the blue screen with the following message:
    Stop: 0x0000001E (0xC0000002, 0x80419292, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Xxx Address 80419292 base at 80400000, date stamp 3EE6C002-ntoskrnl.exe
    Starting memory download
    Configuration:
    Intel Pentium IV - 2.66 GHz - RAM 1 Gbyte - Video chipset Intel 82865G;
    OS: Windows 2000
    DAQ Board: PCI MIO 16 E1;
    Labview 7 express - NIDAQ 7.1
    Note:
The VI that causes the reboot uses the DAQMX to generate an Analog Output with analog trigger.

    > The VI that causes the reboot uses the DAQMX to generate an Analog
    > Output with analog trigger.
You probably want to post this problem to the DAQ message board as well
since LV itself really can't cause either of these problems on a
protected OS. Be sure to be very explicit about what HW boards and what
DaqMX calls you are making along with which version of the driver you have.
