Transferring Ringtones to the LG Voyager (Verizon)

Does anyone know how to transfer a custom ringtone to the Voyager from iTunes. I do have the USB cable that came along with the Voyager (that is usually associated with VCast Music Manager - (sort of like the iPhones ability to transfer iTunes into their system - only Voyager's is easier and better)).
I recently talked to the customer rep of iTunes and he mentioned that the format of the ringtone is a MP3 and should be able to be transferred but that he didn't know how (probably because he works for apple).
Has anyone done this before, or know how to? All help would be appreciated!
THANKS!

Well, unfortunately you can't use downloadable ringtones because they are specially formatted for the iPhone only. There is a way to do it manually for free. This is what u need:
1 blank cd (rewritable ok, preferred though)
software for ur phone (or for smartphone just drag and drop)
USB/FireWire connection+ ur phone
cd burning capable drive
windows OS(operating system)
iTunes
First, right click the song you would like as a ringtone in ur itunes library,right click the song and click get info and go to the options tab. There are two checkboxes, start time and end time. Check both. Change the start time to the desired time. ( when main chorus starts, etc.) (you may need to experiment with this a bit to get it just right by exiting the window and checking where the lyrics are and entering the time in the start time box.. Don't forget the colons) to get even more detailed u could enter a start time such as 2:35:56(2min,35sec,56millsecs). This makes ur ringtone sound professional. Now as soon as the info is entered for the start time, do the same for the end time, concentrating on the end main lyrics. Keep experimenting with the song until it sounds like a ringtone to ur liking. (remember, a standard ringtone lasts from 15-30 seconds, so keep it about 20 seconds or so. Or else it will cut off.) when u are done, create a playlist(just a regular playlist) and drag and drop the song into it in iTunes. Name the playlist anything that u would like(this is basically going to be the digital name of the cd)now before u burn anything, I recommend adding a few more ringtones so u dont waste a cd. Also, before u burn if u have any questions up to this point make sure u respond in this message. When u are ready, insert ur blank disc( u may get a message pop up saying how to burn the disc, just close it and exit any autoplay pop ups)click burn disc in the lower right hand corner and it will burn the song(s). When it is finished, choose to import the songs to ur iTunes library. Something will pop up at the end saying that you have duplicate songs, DO NOT click replace or delete to recycle bin. It will delete ur original song otherwise. Just keep both files. Now the songs are imported, u can now find them in ur iTunes music folder under the artist name and drag and drop the files to ur device. ( copy it) if u use a certain software, navigate to the iTunes music folder and select it and drop it into the program when it gives u the option to do so. Ok well I hope this helps u somewhat and if u need any help, just reply or email me and I'll help u asap. Good luck(by the way, changing the start time or end time won't change the song perminately until u burn it. So when u finished burning the song and u confirm that everything works, make sure u go back to the original song in ur library and uncheck the start and end time boxes, otherwise any iPod u connect and automatically sync will sync the edited song.)

  • I am a customer Verizon customer of over ten years...I am notgettingany assistance from the customer service department. Since September I am being charged for a Samsung phone that I returned based on the process that verizon has set.return the defective

    turn my phone to send Verizon wireless and those instead of the stuff found. I'm not in charge $600 for the for the phone. I'll talk to multiple customer service reps and nothing has really been done about anything other then we'll keep looking or so for stretching it out. since September I've been dealing with thison a month-to-month basis they cut my services they reinstate me and tell me that they're going to knock off the reconnection charge as I have four lines. Unfortunately my main reason for this phone is my work emails which I need to do because I do work and to contact my mother who is 85 years old and I'm the sole caregiver. I don't know what else to do. I have spoken to a supervisor  by the name of William or Will oats in that he said he was going to look into it and was going to help me out. Never heard from him again- just original email to quiet me down. I've been sending him emails just about every day trying to make sure that I get my message across. Seems like Verizon Wireless really doesn't care about the long-term customers. Looking forward to hearing from someone that can help me with my plight.process is faulty for returns. You don't accept them in the stores because as one customer service rep stated you can't get your own employees to send the devices back. Now the responsibilities is on the customer the paying customer the one that keeps you alive. And it's not fair that I there's no way I can prove that I put it in the mailbox. So what are my next stepswhat is it that I need to do to clear up this charge of $600. It's about economy as $600 to me at this very point it's a lot of money. I've been your customer for 10 years I've got four lines I've given will my mothers telephone number home number..number but now she's got to sit by the phone to make sure that she picks up all the calls. And nobody can hear what I have to sayand nobody has been able throughout all these months and check your notes check your notes to see how many times I've called how many time you cut my services how many times you reinstated me and how many times that I spent an hour and a half to two hours on the phone going through this process. I think the stress level is to know thqt I did exactly what you asked...I am now paying the price for your faulty process I'm all I'm asking is review my account tell me what I did wrong I follow your procedure so I don't understand....to top it off...my wife hasa per diem job...and she too is affected by loosing out on work leads...
    as you can see, the cel is no longer a commodity. It's a way of life.
    PLease se call me at -----just remembered....I don't have a service line.

    I have a similar problem with my fathers service, it wasns't $600 but what is rightfully your money, you deserve it back, I wrote this complaint on the Consumer Affairs website:
    In August 2014, my son went to Target to get a new cell phone and was told his Unlimited Data would still be on his plan (he shared a line on his grandfathers account). Well it turned out that Target messed it up and my son immediately called Verizon to get it taken care of but they were not able to do anything about the lost unlimited data but the customer service rep did try to find the best offer for him. In the mean time Verizon was suppose to send him a new cell phone, they never sent it and he was without a phone so he took his business to another cell provider. Verizon DID charge him for the new service that they had spoke about. So when the new bill (Sept) came, the service he never used was on the bill and when we called to inquire about it we spoke to a Judy and told us we would be receiving a credit of the amount that was paid. Well, we got the next months bill (Oct) and still no credit, so called them again and spoke to a Nadine ** . She looked into the account and saw the amount that was paid and said she would submit it again for a credit and she would get back to me in 2 days, no call back.
    The next bill (Nov) came and no credit again, call again but didn't get the girls name and she put me on hold to look over the previous conversations. She said she sees in the records about the credit and said it takes a while to get it thru the supervisor authorization and she would put it in as a "rush priority". On Dec. 5th my dad's cell was turned off, so I call yet again to Verizon, and explain the whole story to them again. This girl explained to me that the request was not put in correctly and that she would submit it right this time, they even turned the cell back on for him.
    So here we are today, Dec. 30, 2014, I get the bill...NO CREDIT, call up and get a gentleman in billing, explain this whole thing again and he transferred me over to customer service where I spoke to a Jordan and yet again told him the story. By this time I was fuming, 3 almost 4 months of calling for this credit and he looks into the account and tells me there is nothing that states there is a credit so all the other customer service reps see it but now it is gone. He said he can only issue me a $25 credit to the bill, not even close to what the bill was that I paid. At this point I wanted to speak to a Supervisor and even that was a problem.
    He did call me back after my phone died. He put me on hold again to speak to a supervisor himself and said that he can only offer me $100 credit for all my troubles for the past few months. I took the $100 credit because Jordan said if I spoke to the supervisor, the $100 credit might not be an offer anymore so it was either take it or leave it. Now where I stand, they get away with NOT giving the credit due to customers. I am done with Verizon.
    today being March 12, 2015, he FINALLY got the said $100 credit...but because of their delay, he service was shut off and I refuse to pay the reconnection fee due to their neglect of a customer of over ten years. My father's service will NO longer be with a place that has NO VALUE in customer service....Verizon robs their customers anyway they can.

  • The WORST of Verizon Wireless

    The "customer service" I have experienced through interactions with Verizon employees over the past week has been nothing short of terrible. Here are a few of the best examples:
    1. Went to Verizon Store in person to upgrade my broken iPhone (2 months after eligible for upgrade). Salesperson sees me in vulnerable state and informs me, "In order to process your upgrade, we require that you purchase our 'Upgrade Pack', which includes great stuff like a case, screen protector, headphones, and speakers." They would NOT allow me to purchase a new phone unless I spent an additional $160 on accessories I did not want. Worst of all, they were only willing to replace my broken iPhone 4s with a downgraded 4, which they wanted to charge me $199 for, when the online price was FREE for that unit with a new contract. Salesperson claimed this was store policy at the Glendale, CA location. They attempted to extort me for profit as they knew I needed a phone immediately. I walked out.
    2. After the in-store disaster, I purchased a new phone using Verizon's 1-800 number last week. I was told that my order went through, they charged my credit card, and was informed that the phone would arrive in 2 days. That was a week ago. My order was held up in "processing" for over a week, with no explanation as to why. My credit card was charged TWICE for the same amount, yet I still have no phone being shipped to me.
    3. In order to understand why my phone had never been shipped, I had to call customer service upwards of 20 times, with no resolution offered after any of these phone calls, some of which lasted over an hour. One of the men on the phone asked me if he had resolved my issue. After I told him "no," he called back 5 minutes later and attempted to offer me a resolution, all the while laughing at me. I could hear that I was on speakerphone, and I heard his co-workers laughing in the background at our conversation. He could barely even speak he was laughing so hard. I found this very disrespecful and embarassing. A paying customer is frustrated by YOUR service... why is this funny? Was tickled by his own ineptitude? I was NOT laughing. The fact that Verizon would promote a culture of abusing customers among their employees is disgusting. This account pays upwards of $5,000 each year, and has been with Verizon for many many years. Is this how you treat a loyal, long-time customer? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
    4. I was transferred to "customer care." After holding for about 25 minutes, one of the associates started looking into my order, decided it was a difficult issue to resolve as the order was, for some reason, not attached to my account in their database, and then mid-sentence, transferred my call to another, unrelated department - device tech support - just to get rid of me. At that point, I was done.
    I CANNOT WAIT until my contract is over so I never have to deal with the ignorant people working for this organization EVER AGAIN.

    We as consumers have to be able to say no, when you have been pressured to purchase anything we don't want or need.
    First off cancel the charges to your card and calm down.
    I always use the store (corporate not a reseller) walk in the door, find the phone I want call the guy or girl over tell them to go in the back and get it for me, I state firmly that no changes are to be added or subtracted from my number or account.
    I decline any and all extras, since I picked them up when I am ready as a seperate transaction.
    Please note to have service or a new phone does not require any accessory purchase. Speak up and stick to it.
    After you have the new phone, if under a new contract via taking a free or subsidize phone check the account on the receipt to see no surprises were added. If you are paying full price make sure you were not placed under any contract, make sure everything you had previously on the acvount be it unlimited data, calling, picture messaging, texting what ever make sure the only change was just the esn/meid number for your new device.
    If you stay alert, firm and unfazed you will prevail.
    Cancel the charges to your credit or bank card and then laugh right back at them when they call you. (verizon)

  • Transferring ringtones from a 3GS to iphone 4

    I got an iphone 4 today, I was able to transfer most of my data from my 3GS to the 4, however i can not get my ringtones. there is no option for ringtones when the 4 is plugged in but when i plug in the 3 they are still there. someone plz help! its becoming extremely frustrating!!!  thank you

    Not sure what you mean by there is no option for ringtones when your iPhone is plugged in.
    The various tabs for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes are the same as the various tabs for your iPhone 3GS sync preferences with iTunes. This does not change and is not contingent on the iPhone model. There is a ringtones tab for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes which is where ringtones available in your iTunes library are selected to be transferred to the iPhone.

  • Blackberry Bold 9650 transferred ringtones

    Just upgraded to Blackberry Bold 9650 had store rep transfer my contacts and ringtones for me right there at the store. Thought I had it made, not so fast. I get home and want to use my ringtones, ha not so easy after all. When I click on the  ringtone music I purchased earlier this year a box comes up and stated invalid! Please make another selection!
    Now what?? No matter what I click on my previous music ringtones are useless! They all bring up the same warning box!
    Only my special purchased and transferred ringtones are invalid.  Now what??  Anybody else have this happen?

  • Custom ringtones on the Alias 2

    I used to have ATT and this was very easy but now I'm having headaches with my new Verizon phone.
    How do I actually use a custom ringtone that I save to my microSD card?  I can play it through the music player but there's no options other than play.  I've read that I can email my ringtone as an attachment to my phone but will this charge me data even if I have unlimited texting (including pix) in my plan?  I shouldn't even have to do that if I have the file on my phone already.  Please help.
    Thanks

No data charge, it will count as a text message.  Mary has provided instructions... I shouldn't even have to do that if I have the file on my phone already.  On some phones you can use ringtones from the SD card.  On others the file has to be on the phone memory itself.  The Alias2 sounds like it uses ringtones from the phone memory, so you will need to receive it as a text message and save it as a ringtone to get it to work.  Technically if it is on the SD card it is NOT actually "on the phone".  Please help.
    Thanks

  • I have been a loyal customer for years and have a hot spot because internet options are very limited in our rural area.  I have stayed with 10G since the beginning.  Most months I don't use the 10G.  Verizon has no problem with me paying for Data I don't

    I have been a loyal customer for years and have a hot spot because internet options are very limited in our rural area.  I have stayed with 10G since the beginning.  Most months I don't use the 10G.  Verizon has no problem with me paying for Data I don't use.  This month my daughter comes home from College and she accidentally uses 24G.....14 over get blind sided with $140.00 in overages.  I called Verizon today......stopped in to the store today......My neighbor told me they waved charges for her one time.  Lots of charges.....But I'm am getting no help.  Not even an offer of a payment plan to help me out.  I went back just 6 months and I have over paid for 19G.....Seems like they would like to help out their loyal customers!!!!     Does anybody have any suggestions on how to deal with them?   We are not wealthy....or I would just pay this and walk away......

    There is a big misconception in what customers believe a cell carrier is obligated to do.
    You pay a set price to use up to that amount of xx data. It makes no difference if you use it to the paid limit or way under. Its like peace of mind when you don't have to worry about a data counter.
    Your daughter used the data, your plan is quite clear of what overage charges are. Why should or would Verizon wireless just forgive the charges because you are a customer? Your daughter used the data, get the money from her. That is the responsible thing to do.
    There is no "I have been a loyal customer so please remove the $120, or $250, or $2,000.00 since I did not mean to use it"
    Your electric company, or gas company or any other company does not remove valid charges. Why should Verizon wireless?
    Just pay the invoice and don't think you are being mistreated because Verizon is a business and not a charity.
    Good Luck

    I am confused. Do you mean you found the music, not the tones, or you can't find either?
    If the former, then this is normal. You can't redownload tones from the Cloud.

    I backed up my old core 2 duo imac and and was trying to transfer files to my new 2011 imac and when i go to oppen a folder from what i transferred it says "The folder “Music” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents".  Why cant i access the files from my old mac?  I tried the time machine and that isnt working either.  I have files that I need to use on my new mac, all my old programs and such.  I thought they said it was easy to get your files from one mac to another.  Please help.

    Your account names are probably different on the two Macs. If you know the UNIX command line, open a terminal window and run:
    $ id
    You should see a line that starts with something like this:
    uid=501(your_user_id_here)
    now check the owner of the folder you copied over:
    $ ls -ld Music
    drwx------+ 8 some_user_id_here  staff  272 May 14 16:08 Music
    Do the IDs match? If not, you could change the ownership. Say your id is "johnsmith"
    $ chown -R johnsmith Music
    Now try and access it with iTunes.

  • Can you record sounds and save as a ringtone with the IPhone4?

    I'm new to the IPhone. All other phones I' ve used in the past I could save sounds and use them as a ringtone. I just can't seem to figure it out with the I4. Can it be done?

    You can record sounds with the Voice Memos app, then sync them to your computer by selecting "Include voice memos" on the Music tab of y0ur iTunes sync settings and syncing your phone.  Once synced to your computer they will appear in a Voice Memos playlist that iTunes creates on the left sidebar.  Then you have to convert it to a ringtone using iTunes as shown here: Create free ringtones with iTunes 10.  After this is done, you can check the ringtone in your iTunes library, then check Sync Tones on the Tones tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync.  Custom ringtones will appear in Settings>Sounds>Ringtone at the top of the list.

  • How can i import an mp3 to a Notification Ringtone under the "Sound Settings"?

    how can i import an mp3 to a Notification Ringtone under the "Sound Settings"? (i can do it to "Phone Ringtones" easy, but not Notifactions)

    This might work as well and will allow drag and drop of mp3 files. This is written as if the phone is connected to the computer.
    In the sd card, check if there is a folder called media. In the media folder verify or create a folder called audio. Within the audio folder create the following folders: alarms, notifications, and ringtones. These should be typed exactly as written. Copy or move the files into the folder you want them in. Disconnect the phone from the computer and let the remount the sd card. Now go into your notification or ringtones list. The files you put into the individual folders should automatically be there.
    I know that this works on the Eris and I got the method back when only the eris and droid 1 was available. I just can't remember exactly where I got it. Hopefully it also works for the Droid 1.
    @Ron
    Be nice please.

  • What is the number for Verizon Wireless  Corporate Customer Service Complaint for CA

    My Complaint:  I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for approx 20 years.  I called customer service to seek an early upgrade for my daughter's phone. She is away in college and her phone is malfunctioning.  She is eligible for an upgrade in approx 6 weeks so I did not want to spend the money on a replacement phone when since we were planning on updating to something newer.  The customer service rep to me they could not do the early upgrade an to call back in a few weeks. After explaining this was unacceptable (I do not like the idea of a young female being out of state and away from home with no reliable means of communication), she places me on hold to later return with the only offer of  I must purchase a new device through her ( over the phone) which will be shipped to me, the phone was priced $100.00 more than the online price (they will not price match), plus i must pay $30.00 upgrade fee, $35.00 activation fee and taxes on the retail price of the phone.  I am upset and disappointed with the quality of service provided by Verizon being a 20 year customer.  If not for the seriousness and urgency of this matter, i would not have asked for an early upgrade.  It is times such as these that you get to see how much of a "valued customer" you really are.   I guess you are valued as long as you pay your bill and continually  purchase their products.  I would like to speak with someone from Verizon's corporate or customer relations department.  As of now I am really considering changing my service to a different provider.  I have multiple accounts with Verizon and i will canx each after the current contract committment expire (starting with my daughter's phone which expires in 6 weeks) In the meantime I will go purchase her a new phone with someone else and take comfort knowing she will have reliable communication.

    I started with them in 1985. It has been wonderful service but very expensive. They seem to operate on day of deposit day of withdrawal. That means that I have no benefits nothing beyond the normal customer if I don't pay my bill they shut me off. That's why I have switch to another provider and I have better service lower cost and better phones. you can't beat  other providers I mean it. Please don't expect more from verizon other than a "pay me more money and I'll do what you want" because it's all about money. Read the transcripts from current Verizon employees all over the internet. The company is going down and they're taking customers with them.

    i can see only one ringtone in the custom ringtone box.plz help

    Cap,
    This view, with the one photo big and the thumbnail strip across the top, is what happens when you double-click a photo with "Edit in: Main Window" set in the Preferences. There should be a button visible that says either Done or Return, to exit edit mode and return you to the library. If you still see only one photo, use the size slider in the lower right corner to reduce the photo size and get more thumbnails on the page.
    If, for some reason, you can't exit the edit mode, you may have a corrupt preference file. Quit iPhoto. Use the Finder to navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist and move that file to the Trash. Launch iPhoto, and you should be returned to the main viewing mode. You'll have to go in the Preferences and reset them to your liking.
    Regards.

    What happens when you change your address in your iTunes account? You also have to have a payment method associated with the USA, For example gift cards are restricted to the country of their purchase.
