Web Part showing different result in different regions

Hi All,
We have a
stock web-part which is integrated into our SharePoint site . And this stock web-part is showing different result in different regions .As the output of the web-part is perfect in India,US,UK and working quite opposite in Singapore,china and Malaysia.Can
any one help me how can I solve the issue

As the stock web part is a custom web part, we cannot know how it works. For this issue, I suggest you ask the web part developers or support for help.

Content Search Web Part Has No Results

Hello,
I have been working on a site for a few weeks now and have been trying to make a simple Image Slider. I have found many tutorials and all are helpful -- except I get stuck at the same part every time. I am trying to use a Content Search Web Part in order
to pull images from a library/list and display them. I go through almost the same instructions every time but my query never shows any results.
I have went in to 'Change Query' and set the following:
Select a query: Pictures (System)
Restrict By App: Specify a URL --> Then changed to mysite/myimagelibrary
I have tried a few things. I have changed the Result Source to multiple different things, including the default 'Recently Changed Items.' I have also tried to put the images in a list rather than a Picture Library. I have also tried MANY different ways of
putting in the 'specific URL.'
I don't know why I can't seem to get results from my query. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,According to your post, my understanding is that you used a Content Search Web part to search images from a library/list , it didn’t display any
Results.
Please check which content type you used for these images . Maybe its content type is document rather than picture. Please make sure your images’ content type is picture.
You can go in to 'Change Query' and set the following:
Select a query: Items matching a content type(System)
Restrict by App: Current site
Restrict by content type: Picture
As you have mentioned in your description “Specify a URL --> Then changed to mysite/myimagelibrary”.

Results web part showing results before search query is typed in search box

2 part question
I am creating a wiki site in which the home page has a search box web part, and a results web part. I have the search box configured to return the results to the results web part. I created a result source and changed the query on the results
web part to use this results source. I am getting results from the library I am trying to, but...
1) The results web part is showing results when the page is loaded before any query is typed into the search bar. Why is this and can it be configured to just be blank until a query is entered into the search bar?
2) Is it possible to have 1 search box and 1 results part have 2 different scope choices? ie, 1 scope for the wiki library and 1 for a document library?

So I have to have 2 different search result web parts to have 2 different scopes if I wish to have the search and results occur on the same page? Would I also have to have 2 search boxes?
Also, I am trying to figure out this issue where results are being returned without anything being entered in the search box. I have {searchterms?} in my query, and documentation suggests this to be the way to handle this issue, but I continue to get
results shown in the results web part without even entering a search query. Please assist.

Federated results web part showing too broad results

I enabled enterprise search center for our site collection now the results.aspx page brings search results as expected but one weird thing is that , this page has federated results web part on the right hand side named : People Matches. This web part brings
people results from all site collections but I do not want that I only want it to filter results for xpecific site collection. I looked for option but I dont have access to Central Administration and because of that I wont be able to create New custom federated
location. Other options that might work are Fixed Keyword Query and Append text to query but I couldnt find necessary information on how to use them to limit search results from a specific Site Collection. Any help will be appreciated.

I think I have found answer for this. In the web part properties, inside Append Text To Query put : Path:<Your site collection address> , click ok. This will only display results from specific site collection

I implemented news carousel using display template concepts.
Its working.
But some times it shows like some thing went wrong
when clicke on show details
it showing the error like

Finally we fixed.
The prob is that we referring two different version of jquery files in master page and page layout.
We corrected by referring same version of jquery files in both pages

Report viewer web part, show different report everyday (rotate .rdl files)

We have a report viewer web part on sharepoint site (intranet), which is working fine and showing the report (.rdl file).
We want to show different report everyday by looping through a list of 4 or 5 important reports (from sharepoint document library) that can be displayed on our intranet. We have limited space on the intranet to display the report (we have custom built
reports that will fit in the allocated space).
Our .net guy says he can do image rotations by custom web part but not sure how to use the .rdl files..
Has anyone got any ideas on how to achieve this.

Web part shows in different location for certain users

I have a web part page that has three filter web parts (PerformancePoint) and a reportviewer web part. When anyone not in a view only group views the page the filters appear at the top of the page as they should. When anyone in a restricted
rights group (view only) views the page, the filters show stacked at the bottom of the page. The only thing I've allowed in the web part options is Connections. Everything else is unchecked. Additionally, there are no personal views.
I've tried re-creating the page and the behavior persists. I also renamed the page and it made no difference. If I take a user from the restricted group and put them in a regular group the page shows correctly. The restricted group has View
Items, Open Items, View Application Pages, View Pages and Open permissions. I don't know what else to try at this point so I hope someone has some ideas on what's going on. Thanks!

It seems this restricted group users are lacking of some permissions on sytle file or resource file, please check if they have Style Resource Readers permission on Style Library.

Custom Search Results web part: show only sites wherein the current user has access

Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom Search Box and Search Results web part in one of my web application. The search result should show only sites wherein the current user only has an access. Do you have an idea how to implement this? Thanks. :)

From my experience, we can only search the result which we have view permission at least.
Please provide more information about your requirement if there is misunderstanding.

Content Search Web Part displaying wrong Results for anonymous Users.

I am getting Wrong results for my content search web part. The requirement is to show the News Description for the selected news item.
I have a catalog site which stores News like
News1
News2
News3
as Items. and i have connected this catalog in publishing site which is anonymous. In the publishing site created one page "News.aspx"added search results webpart which shows all the news item. Added one page "Description.aspx" to show
description to show the selected news item.
When ever user selects any news from news.aspx page it will redirected to description.aspx with the selected item ID
The "Description.aspx" the search results page gets the data based on the URL by QueryString parameter as shown below
The problem is, if i multiple items to open in tabs all the items are showing the data same as the first selected item, though the article ID is different.

Content Search Web Part shows Subsite that has been renamed

I'm having an issue with the CSWP. The query that i have set is returning exactly what i want however, i renamed a subsite to a different name and the CSWP is showing two line items in the web part. 1 for the old subsite and 1 for the newly named
site.
I though this would self correct when the search fully crawled but it doesnt appear to fix itself. It had been about 3 days since i made the name change.
Example CSWP displays subsites: Site1, Site2 and Site3
Site1 was renamed to Site4 and the url has changed. CSWP is now showing Site1, Site2, Site3 and Site4 instead of Site2, Site3 and Site4
If you click Site1 it goes to a page 404 not found site.
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

I think it is expected that the stale records may exist right after you renamed the site and did a
fully crawl because there are some policies which controls how crawl component deal with non-existing items.
Though those documentations are for SharePoint 2010, it still apply for SharePoint 2013 with different default values.

Therefore, you can either:
Wait for 15 days and the make sure the
ErrorCountAllowed exceeds 15 (15 times crawls happens after you renamed the site). Then the stale item will disappear.
Set a lower value on
ErrorDeleteIntervalAllowed and
ErrorDeleteIntervalAllowed and then set DeleteUnvisitedMethod=0 to fasten the deletion of stale records.

Please check if it could help with switching to "Summary Toolbar" in web part property, or patch the latest cumulative update for SharePoint 2013 and check result again.

Issue in treeview control along with page viewer web part showing the sub sites from MMS

hi,
Am having a treeview control populates with values from MMS - Managed Metadata Service.
[ Products ]
----->ms office
           ----->word
            ----->excel
             ---->powerpoint
-------->Collaboration
                ---->   sharepoint 2003
                 ----> moss 2007
                 ----> sp 2010
                 -----> lync
all these values excel, word, powerpoint are sub sites created under ms-office site collection.
and sharepoint 2003, mos 2007, sp 2010, sp 2013 are sub sites created under collaboration.
now, on the page load, end user clicks on word and he should navigate to the sub site "wordsite" and it should show the home page of word sub site.
we have created a page viewer web part and assigned the url property of the page viewer to the sub site url.
but the issue is, when end user clicked  on the child node "powerpoint", the page did a Post Back and treeview control immediately collpased and it shows the Products [top level - parent node] only.
Am unable to set the current selected value- ie here its excel and show the excel node in the trewview.
how can i get this child tree node as the selected node.
help is highly appreciated!

How to configure search results web part to display results only after a query is generated from user?

Hi All,
I am crawling documents from a file server. I created a new content source and crawled the documents. All documents are crawled successfully.
Then I went to my enterprise search center site collection and created a new result source. I have added the query to use above content source.
After that, on a page I am trying to configure the search results web part to display documents using this result source. Now the problem is:
It displays all the documents that are crawled without searching for anything. I mean first it should not display any results. If a user searches for something , then according to that search it should display results.
Any idea how to do this in the web part? I am using SharePoint 2013 on premise enterprise edition. No code. Totally OOTB.

What did you use for the Query text in the result source?
I could reproduce this issue when I used Query text like: {searchTerms} Path:”http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents”
Then I changed the Query to
{?{searchTerms}
Path:"http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents"}
, then Search result web part didn’t return results without searching.
So , check your result source, and use the Query like the above(adding "{?...}").

Different results in different boxes

Hello
I have a small swing application in Linux - Debian box. The application run correctly. However, when I run this application in a Suse box, there are some different results. For example, I have a button "Search" that search objects from database. When I click this button, a result is shown. It works OK in my Debian box. However, it doesnot work in Suse box.
As Suse box is a client's box, I cannot view the System.out.println message to debug
Something wrong with my application?. Please have some suggestions

Who knows.
What do you mean "it does not work"? How does it not work? Does it crash? Does it run, but no data is displayed? Is data displayed, but the values are known to be incorrect? Is the data correct, but it causes your hat to turn into cheese?
If you can't test on the client's box, then you should try to set up a local test environment to duplicate the client's environment, and test there. If it doesn't break similar on the test environment, then you're just going to have to create some kind of trace/debug system that you can get the client to run. Perhaps provide a "debug" mode that produces a log or the like, then tell your client to run it in debug mode and send you the log.

Content Search and 'Items Matching a Tag' Web Part Not Displaying Results Shown in Preview

Hi
I've been trying to set up both the Content Search and Items Matching a Tag Web Parts with the same issue. In both cases I can create a query which displays the expected results in the Search Result Preview pane but no results are returned when browsing
the page.
I'm a Site Collection administrator
tried viewing the page in IE8, Chrome and Firefox
another user account with Full Control permissions on the site results in the same issue
I've reindexed the site (which has completed as other alterations on the content are now being returned in the normal search results)
I've tried removing and re-adding the offending web parts
The queries in both web parts are pushed back to the most simple possible - ie all documents in the current site collection for the Content Search query and 'Current site collection + Don't restrict by any tag' in the Items Matching a Tag
I haven't touched the display templates or made any other alterations AT ALL - this is a virgin site collection beyond documents in a library
Does anyone have any ideas?

I was able to make this do what I needed it to.
