Webservice system creation

Hi,
We have recently installed a EP7SP10 system on SQL 2005. We are unable to create a WSDL system on this system and always get the error as
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct. I am sure of the user mapping as when i pass the WSDL in a browser the user id i pass is authenticated and i can see the xml on my browser window. Any pointers on this problem will be of great help.
(We did a direct upgrade from SP4 to SP10).

Source system creation

hi experts,
this is the first time i am creating source system
i am have requirement to load data one bw system to another bi system,
so, to do that i defined and created logical system in bw for bi system and
i created same for bw in bi system also and everything is ok.
i guess my next step is to create source system(my self) for bw in bi .
when i am trying to create it is showing that it is already exists.and here what type of source system i need to choose. i am not founding any my self bw data mart
status symbol under source system creation node and what type of the source system i need to choose and whether it is manually or automatically.if i choose automatically it is asking create new destination ,create back ground user and connection of source system to bw (it is asking to fill all fields),for manual system creation only logical system and rfc destination. is it required to creat source system or not because my self bw data mart symbol is present in bw system and bi system also.please correct me if anything wrong

Source System creation in BI 7.0 for SQL Server using DB Connect

Hi
My requirement is to extract data from SQL Server 2005 to BI 7.0 using DB Connect.
I need to create a SOURCE SYSTEM for that purpose,As i am new to BW i don't know how to start to create a SOURCE SYSTEM.
What are the parameters i require either from Basis team to install or for DB team User ID in SQL (What type of user).
Questions:
1) create a db user with authorization to read this views.......as i created views on tables...do i need authorisation to read table or views
"On BW Server side (If BW server isn't based on SQL Server):
(1) Install SQL Server client and test connection to SQL Server DB.
(2) Install DBSL of SQL server (download lib_dbsl_<num>.sar file from service market and sapcar to BW kernel)"
How can i know on which server our BW System is Based and HOW Install SQL Server client and test connection to SQL Server DB and

No option for system creation in system landscape.

Hello all,
I have the super admin role and i have checked the permission for applications in Syst Admin -> Permission ->Applications, it shows " owner " but still i am not getting the option for system creation when i go to Sys Admin->Sys Conf->Sys landscape->
It is only showing the option to create folders, change ID and Refresh. Earlier I used to get the option and i have created some "Systems" but now niether i can create nor i can open the existing system objects.

Try by assigning administrator role for the user. it will work.

Error while source system creation/Source system transport

Hi,
     In our BW implementation, the system landscape is only 2 servers. One is BW Dev, another is BW Prd. All configurations are done in BW Dev and I extracted the data from QAS for this BW Dev system.
     Since we cant create the source systems in the BW Production system, I tried to create the source system for the SAP R3 Production system in BW Dev and trying to transport this to BW Production Instance.
     I have two queries.
1. Is this way is correct for creating the Source System for BW Production system?
2. When I tried to activate the source system I am getting the following error messages. (I tested the RFC Destinations. There is no problem, I also done the configurations for logical system creation and client assignment in both the systems).
Error in source system GWPCLNT900
     Message no. RSAR502
Diagnosis
     With Remote Function Call to system GWPCLNT900 error connection closed
     (no data) ccurred.
Procedure
     Remove the cause of the error.
When tried again I got the following error message
Basic type ZSBB030 doesnt exist. EA 447
Result of the destination check: Timeout RSAR 375.
Could anyone throw some light on these errors?

Hi,
you need to maintain the logical systems on both R/3 and BW. You also need to set up the RFC connection with users that can log in to the other system. The R/3 system must be open for customizing in scc4.
In transaction se03 the system change options for 'Business Information Warehouse: SAP Namespace' and 'Business Information Warehouse: Customer Namespace' may need to be modifiable. I am not completely sure about this.
The last thing I will mention is that I have seen source system creation fail when the RFC-users are system users, and the source system creation worked if the RFC-users was display user while creating the source system. The RFC-users must be changed back to system user later...

ESS application systems creation in Portal content area

Hi ESS experts,
I had struck up in the systems creation part of the ESS implementation in EP7, ECC6.
I have the ESS set up guide by Siddhartha Jain which is just short of details on how to set up the systems for system alias SAP_Webdynpro_XSS, ITS, and back end R/3 system creation in the system and how to test the connections.
Can any one give a detail guide on how to set up the various systems in the Portal content directory to that the Ess application can be launched in the portal?
I had deployed the BP as described in the guide (and guided by the forum members) and all my Jco connections are Green in color. I need to complete the system creation and user creation in the portal and launch the ESS applicaiton in portal.
(Set up the first system on the Portal J2EE server in which the business package has been implemented and assign the system the alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS.) Here is the step I need help!!!

BPM: How to capture Webservice system Time

Dear friends,
I have one Sybchrounous Interface as follows :
Local PI folder -
>PI -
> Webservice system
                             ( Sync Interface )
Overall flow:
1.        PI Picks up the Control file consisting of date& time, count and start fields from PI folder.
2.        PI mapping converts the file to soap request message and sends it to Web Service
3.        PI receives the response soap message from web service converts into an XML file and places in the PI folder.
4.        The loop continues in PI BPM until all the records of particular time period are retrieved.
Logic in Detail:
5.     The initial request file consists of a user defined time stamp (since), count and start values to retrieve the initial load.
6.     PI BPM sends this request in a synchronous mode to Web service and gets the response back.
7.     Apart from the device details, the response message from WS consists of u2018current_timeu2019 field which is the current system time of webservice when the query is executed on the web service System.
8.     BPM has to capture this field during first iteration and updates the source request message field u2018sinceu2019 with the web      service system time.
9.      From next cycle, PI picks up the file which consists of WB service system time in the u2018sinceu2019 field.
10   BPM continues in loop until all the records are fetched from web service and writes the files with time stamp concatenated to the PI folder.
Bottlenecks:
Tried to implement with BPM ..But facing problems to implement point 4 ,8 and 10 .
Kindly guide me how we can design this interface .

Unable to create webservice system!!!

Hi Friends,
I am using SAP NetWeaver 2004s Visual Composer SP 08.
My problem is, No matter whatever WSDL url i give to create the WebService System in the VC its throwing me the error 'Invalid Web Service URL: http://ws.invesbot.com/stockquotes.asmx?WSDL'
I have given as below:
New System name : invesbot
New System alias: invesbot
Web Service URL: http://ws.invesbot.com/stockquotes.asmx?WSDL
I am really clueless to know whats wrong in the WSDL URL. When i give the above WSDL url on the browser it shows the XML details.
Is there anything else i should do for the Web Service URL?????

I tried to create webservice using the URL you've given and it worked on my system (fyi: I am using sneak preview)
Just for counter checking, can u able to try creating webservice for the following URL?. This is an example provided in the VC help docs.

Hi,
you can reimport the same TR again once the mapping is done in BW from source system.
If you have left the TR's in the import queue of BW for later import then you can reimport it again.
This will go correctly.
In qualtiy to do the mappings you will need development authorization.

R/3 Source system creation

Hello,
I wish to add an R/3 system to my BI 7.0 system. What exactly do I need to enter in the "Create SAP Source System" window? Should I leave backgrounduser as ALEREMOTE? I dont see any option of automatic source system creation. Could u pls help me with a step by step solution.

Defining the source system
As of release 640, you can use upper and lower case characters for R/3 user passwords. This is only uppercase characters for previous releases. Remember that your passwords are automatically converted to uppercase in previous Basis releases.
As BI 7.0 System has Basis 700 below, upper and lower case passwords are important.
So, for defining source system is almost same as ordinary BW Source System definitions.
One more important thing is that you have to take into account the EDI Ports. This may cancel your system definition if the <spsettings are not correct. This settings must be controlled on both BI and Source System.
Here are the steps to configure Source System with Basis Relase lower than 640 in BI 70:
1. Take a look at table EDIPORT of your BW system and note the next free number for the field "Port". This is the adjacent number of the highest entry like 'A0000000123' for example. In this case e.g. take '124'.
2. Choose transaction "snum" and object "ediport".
Select "number ranges" from the menu "Goto" and here the button "status".
Change the CURRENT NUMBER of the ranges to the next free number you noted from table EDIPORT.
If the number range of your BW system is correct please check the same in your OLTP system.
3. Call TCODE RSA1 on BI System in BI Client.
4. Select Source Systems on Left Menu
5. Left Click SAP System and Choose Create
6. Important think is, as source system has Basis Release Lower than 640, You have to give All Passwords (For BI ALEREMOTE User and for Source System ALEREMOTE User) in UPPERCASE.
My Favourite is giving RFCCPIC for ALEREMOTE Passwords.
7. It Must Be OK.

This is our first time installing Oracle Wokflow 2.6.3 Standalone.
We are having problems with the Event Manager.
When we access the event manager pages:
pls/wf/wf_event_html.listevents?resetcookie=T
pls/wf/wf_event_html.listsystems?resetcookie=T
etc.
We get this error:
Error: 3816: Local System Creation during install was not successful. Please review the install log file for errors.
Error Stack:
WF_EVENT_HTML.isAccessible(EVENTS)
WF_EVENT_HTML.ListEvents()
     The installation was successful.
     We cannot change the Local System in the Global Workflow Preferences option.
     The table WF_systems is empty.
     Should the local system appear in this table?

Software component sap.com/LM-TOOLS with version 7.00.9.3 is found on the system but in the stack it is listed with version 7.00.9.0.
Software component sap.com/SAP-JEECOR with version 7.00.9.1 is found on the system but in the stack it is listed with version 7.00.9.0.
You are trying to upgrade a system with the lower version of sap.com/LM-TOOLS and sap.com/SAP-JEECOR. The other thing I notice is that if you are upgrading to EhP4/EhP1 NW then the version of LM and SAP-JEECOR should look something like 7.01.3.0.
Are you using MOPZ to download EhP's ? As the error message says synchronize the system with SAP Solution Manager and then generate a new stack file.

Webservice system error in visual composer

Hi,
I am facing a problem with respect to using a webservice in my Visual Composer application. I have defined the webservice system with a WSDL url in the visual administrator giving the required login credentials. I am trying to access the entire function group that contains some BAPI's. When i access this system in my Visual Composer, i can see the entire list of BAPI's that it contains converted as web services. But, when i try to drag any of the BAPI's i get the following error
Failed to fetch Metadata.
Portal Request failed due to: Operation
not found.
Now when i put the same WSDL in my browser, the list of services can be clearly seen. Any solutions to this?

The problem is solved now. We cannot drag a webservice system directly into a layer in VC but first needs to be dragged on to your story board and from there into the desired layer!!! I am not sure why this occurs but my colleague here found this out. But now i get the error Portal Request Failed (Could not execute web service operation). i checked the following link

The BAPI that iam testing as a webservice has one fo the input in the form of a object, to be specifc a HROBJECT whose structure contains 3 components. Can this be the cause of the problem?

When trying to add Webservice System in VC I get an Invalid URL Error

I want to use an webservice in VC. This ws originaly was BAPI_FLIGHT_GETDETAIL. I created the ws out of it and in wsconfig got the green light. Now, if i browse the corresponding system in VC the service doesn't show up. I think this is because it isn't published in the UDDI through WSADMIN. However, the system has no UDDI (I think so because there are no UDDIs showing up in the list). Now I wanted to define an new Webservice system. And here the problem is showing up. I use the follwing URL:
http://192.168.123:8000/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ws_flight_getdetail?WSDL
If I type the URL into my Browser I get the WSDL -> The URL exists. But If I use the same URL in VC I get an "Invallid URL"-error. And this is making me kind of crazy..
Can anyone give me help about this problem?

some URLs will not be allowed in every Portal.
To avoid this problem you have to do the Proxy settings in Visual administrator .

Define WebService System

Hi,
I have a lot's of problem with the defined ws systems.
The origin is that, as I understood, I have to define a WebService System each time I update the webservice definition else VC don't see the modifications.
Actually, I have today multiple systems pointing to the same webservice. (I tried to delete them in portal System Administration/System Configuration/Content/Visual Composer but I wonder if I didn't break something !?)
Could you help me to delete thoses systems and maybe explain me how to force VC to read the wsdl definition if updated ?

Hi Thomas,
If you are using EP6 or later, there is a way of clearing the PCD cache (which includes cached metadata from RFC, JDBC or web service connections).
If you navigate to System Administration > Support > Portal Content Directory > PCD Administration, you will see a screen which allows you to either remove specific objects from the cache, or to flush the entire PCD cache.
If you then close all Internet Explorer windows and log into VC again, you should see the updated WSDL.
This is also mentioned in SAP Note 868887.

A question about item "type and release" of source system creation

Hello expert,
I have a question about item "type and release" of source system creation.
As we know,when we create a web servie source system,there will display a pop-up which includes three items as "logical system","source system"and "type and release".
About the item "type and release",when we push "F4" button,there will be three default selections as below:
"ORA 115     Oracle Applications 11i
TLF 205     Tealeaf 2.05B
XPD 020     SAP xPD".
Who can tell me when and how should I use the three selections.
And also I attempted to input the item by some optional letters except the default three selections and it seems that I can input it freely.

You said the default selections are set by our basis people.Would you like to tell me how should we creat a new value except the default ones for item "type and release"?Only by inputing the value in the item directly?But you see we canot see the new value item we created by ourself when we push "F4" button next time ,is that ok?Or do we have to ask basis people to define one new value item just like the default seletions before we use it.
Also if possible would you like to describe detail about "This becomes important when you are troubleshooting certain issues especially when RFC connection problems."
