What can I do when all of my printers have disappeared and can't be updated?

I have lost all my printers. They no longer show up when I go to select a printer. I've tried going to Epson to reinstall drivers, however, they refer me back to apple update software. Apple runs the scan and says there are not updates. I've been running in circles for two days. Hopefully, someone out there can help me solve this problem. I am to the point that I may give up on Apple products!

1. It means exactly what it says. Apple dropped support for earlier Mac OS X versions in iTunes 10.7.
2. Update the computer to 10.6.8. If it's running a Mac OS X version prior to 10.6, this requires buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.

My back button no longer works, all of my bookmarks have disappeared and I cannot add new ones, and all of my history has disappeared.

I have looked at prior questions, many of which look similar, but none of which are exactly the same. I tried to restore my bookmarks to those available on a prior date, and got an error message saying "unable to process the backup file."

Figured it out! I deleted the places.sqlite folder by dragging it into the trash, then rebooted. I lost all my existing bookmarks, but that was no big deal.
To find the places.sqlite folder, go to Help, Troubleshooting Information, click on "show in finder" (under application basics), and the folder is in there. I was very nervous about deleting anything, but Firefox just regenerates the folder when you reboot.

hello, such clean-up/tuning tools often do more harm than good. by default firefox will create a daily backup of your bookmarks for the 10 last days, which you can restore from within the bookmarks library. for more information about that, please see [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]].

All my reminders have disappeared - how can I retrieve them?

I use the reminders app across 2 iMacs, an iPhone and an iPad. Everything has always synced beautifully, until now: all my personal reminders have disappeared (and there were a lot of them). On my home iMac, iPhone and iPad, the reminder icon shows a red circle with '3' in it. When I go to the app, those 3 reminders are tasks from my Outlook Exchange calendar. On my work iMac, the reminder icon shows a red circle with '52' in it - that's roughly the correct number of uncompleted reminders in my list. But when I go to the application, they're not there - all I can see are the 3 Exchange tasks. So where have they gone?? The work iMac is suggesting that they still exist... somewhere. If I log directly into my iCloud account, there's still no sign of them.

Are you thinking that the list might have existed locally, one one of my devices, without me realising this was the case? It's possible, I guess. But I added the various reminders from all my different devices - how would that be possible if the list only 'existed' on one of them? I also don't know how I would accidentally have deleted the entire thing. And it doesn't explain why my work iMac is still showing '52' in the Reminders icon - this is the straw I'm clutching at!
I've got various backups - a full backup of my iPhone which is about two weeks old; I already tried restoring the iPhone from this, and it made no difference. Do you still have your old version of Photoshop loaded? You need to open that, and save your actions so that you can open them in 2014.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.. It bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod)

I have had this problem several times. The iPad comes off charging with a black screen and only a hard reset works to get it back. Then you have to go to settings to be sure nothing changed there.
I have had serveral hard resets and three restore operations and the problem recurs. I am not sure if it is the iPad2 or an app that is causing the problem. So far I can live with it as is.

When I check the settings all the thumbnails have the site shown in the details so should be showing the site in the thumbnail, but they're just blank. I uninstalled Speed Dial and installed it again, but to no avail. Something is stopping the image appearing but don't know what. I paused blocking on Ghostery, but that makes no difference. Any suggestions would be welcome!

Unless you have a backup from which you can restore, yes you will lose all of your data and settings.
You should be able to sync your content back to the iPad if you have been syncing with iTunes all along. If you don't sync with iTunes, you can download much of your paid content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. This explains downloading past purchases.

Unfortunately, at this point, you must restore the device before you can move on. There is nothing you can do to avoid it now.
