In Mail go to the Window Menu and select Previous Recipients. Deleting entries from there won't delete them from your Address Book.

Yes, There are actually 4 calendars listed under my iCloud account. The listing on my iPhone is exactly like the listing on my iPad. The iPad is updating but not the iPhone. It's odd because the iPhone did work at one time so I'm assuming it some setting I've changed. I have checked and double checked that the settings on both devices are the same. Do you have any other ideas?

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. We don't even know what exactly you are trying to install.

Click on the General tab
Set "Check for New Messages:" to "Every Minute"

This has to do with this information being held in a separate cache in the phone. There are two choices here. You can restore the phone as a new device, which is the only true way to remove this cache; or you can wait until the information is overwritten in the cache, and no one has been able to describe how long that takes, so I would say the only way to really do it is the restore as new, and not from a backup. This will delete all of your data and you will need to sync data back individually.

You may well have a POP Yahoo account, in which case deleting emails on one device does not delete them everywhere else. POP accounts do not provide sync services like IMAP accounts (e.g. Apple mail). Usually, a POP account offers settings so that when you delete an email locally, that will also delete it from the server; however, if this email has already copied down to another device, that email will not delete from that other device. Or you can set a POP account so that deleting on a device will not delete from the server, thus all other devices will eventually get the email as well.

MacBook Address Book Application Does Not Run

MacBook OSX 10.5.8 - Address Book application will not run - it shows up in Applications Folder but will not run - either double click or command File - Open. I have reinstalled the Address Book application with the original installation disk, which indicated the application was installed, still will not run. Rebooted, reinstalled again - same result -- the Applications Folder shows the file size as 1.4 Mb - updated today - the installation disk showed approx. 53 Mb was being installed - not sure if the Application Directory is only showing a command file or what - also ran the hardware diagnostic and found no problems. Software update shows current software is up to date.
Haven't used Address Book so do not know if it ever worked. Need it now to sync with IPhone 4. Any Ideas?

After reinstalling an Apple application from the installation disk, it is also necessary to reinstall the latest Combo Update for the installed system. In your case that would be Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update.
Try that and see what happens with your Address Book application.

URL disappears from within address bar (bar does not disappear)

After visiting a site for a few seconds, the address bar removes the URL and says "search or enter address"
Once "search or enter address" appears the cursor is automatically moved to the address bar, sometimes in the middle of typing something.
This happens on all websites, by all means of getting to that site.
It happens when Firefox is in safe mode. I have also reset Firefox to default settings. (It is not the all too common "its an addon/extension/plugin" resolution)
It happened on my previous Firefox version for several months as well as after a very recent update to: 29.0.1
malwarebytes, avg, microsoft security essentials all show no threats.
Running windows 7 SP 1, no important updates available.
Google chrome had the same problem for some time but has somehow no longer has the issue (not sure how/why, as I do not recall making any changes to it)
This issue (seemingly) began to occur shortly after updating my sound card driver.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

In Outlook the 'people' (address book) page does not work at all in Firefox.

Hi, I have checked and it works fine using Explorer. I've checked that cookies are enabled.
When I click the people icon the address bar shows:- https://outlook.live.com/owa/#path=/people
However the page remains completely blank, there is no 'wheel' to suggest that it is searching.
Any suggestions please?

After syncing mac address book to ipad contacts, the ipad does not display all the fields that were in Mac address book (in my case all the email addresses). Anyone have a fix?

I have a problem similar to DeeRun's.. I would like the IM fields to be synced.. I use them to send e-mails to when the e-mail field is empty or when i just want to use that specific address.. Very annoying, would take hours if not days to transfer all those IM adresses to e-mail fields in addressbook..
EDIT: not to mention the mess it would make in my address book!

Address Book that does NOT alter Contacts app

I am looking for a second address book / contacts app for my iPhone. I am an autograph collect and want to be able to save celebrities contact details in a seperate addressbook. All apps that I have downloaded haven't been suitable. When adding to the 2nd address book I don't want the Contacts app touched (all apps that I've used - add to the contacts once an addition has been made. Hope that makes sense.thanks

I HAD THE SAME "SEARCH" ISSUE, HOWEVER I AM NOT USING iCLOUD... so my situation was yet slightly different I guess, I tried a bunch of things (exporting, reimporting etc.. Nothing worked..).
FINALLY WHAT WORKED WAS: I deleted everything in the Application Support/AddressBook EXCEPT the Metadata folder. When I relaunched AddressBook.. everything worked fine again, searches etc.. and all icons even reappeared I guess they are also kept with the metadata info not jsut the images folder since I had deleted it) .. and all my contacts from Facebook that I had synched using Cobook and some other utility before that are also there...
I've also played around with CoBook again.. to make sure things were stable, and so far they are.
HOWEVER.. iCloud scares me... so I'll refrain from playing with that for now

Address Book SEARCH does not work anymore

Since the last week or so, my "Address Book" does not search at all anymore for any contacts on iCloud (which is where I have all my contacts). Interestingly it searches if I have contacts "On my Mac", which I usually don't.
I tried exporting my address book and re-inporting it (replacing all contacts), but it did not change anything.
Was anyone able to fix this besides the person in the above linked discussion?

if the mail provider use imap or exchanged based mail system then yes
