Why wont my phone charge when i plug the usb into my laptop?, Why wont my phone charge when i plug the usb into my laptop?

why wont my phone charge when i plug my usb into my macbook air?

Most USB ports can't supply the power required to charge a phone.
The original USB port was limited to 0.5 amps at 5 volts which is 2.5 watts.
Your phone probably has a 10 watt charger.
Recent machines allow more power from the USB port but I doubt they allow 2 amps which is what would be required to get 10 watts.  Even if they did a 2 amp draw is going to be a heavy load on the MBA battery.
