1-Tap 10-Bit Camera with Frame Trigger

How can I change "1-Tap 10-Bit Camera with Frame Trigger" to 12 bit output in Labview?
I tried to change from 10 to 12 bit but whenever the intensity reach 1024,it will decrease to 0.
I'm using PCIe-1473 board with Basler Camera

Please suggest me any document or tutorial for programming & configuration of other paramters of NI PCIe-1473R

  • Triggering GigE Camera with Hardware Trigger

    Hello,
Here is an outline of what I want to accomplish:
-LabView program starts running and waits for GigE camera to output frames
-Hardware trigger leads to GigE camera outputting frames
-Some simple arithmetic is done on each frame to generate the average pixel value--> this average value is plotted for each frame
    -Repeat the above three steps
Please see the attached VI. I have successfully set my camera's settings in MAX to make it wait for an external hardware trigger. However, the output of IMAQdx Grab2.vi inside the While Loop is only a single frame (even though in MAX I have set the Acquisition Mode to MultiFrame - 255 Frames).
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thank You.

The "problem" that you are having is the frame rate of video acquisition, which you think is about 20 Hz.  Take the very simple VI I posted and run it with your camera -- all it does is continuously take frames (and display them) -- does this have an acceptable rate?  I suspect it will.
If so, then "start with what works and add to it", rather than trying to "fix what is broken".  First, let's consider how to (better) control the Start and Stop of frame acquisition.  I like your idea of using the 6009, but I recommend (if you are using a 3V signal as the trigger) that you wire the trigger to one of the Digital I/O ports (as 0 and 3V are acceptable TTL levels for False and True).
Your Video loop will be "clocked" by the Camera at its frame rate, so you might consider using the same loop to clock the DIO.  Take a Digital sample of the line to which you've wired your TTL signal, and as long as it is True, run the loop.  [You'll need to think about how to get the loop started ...].  It should, I think, be possible to read from your USB 6009 within a 60th of a second -- if it is too slow, there are other ways of handling this with a separate parallel loop, but let's not go there until we see it is a problem.
So now, in principle, you've gone from a simple loop showing frames at 60 Hz to a loop controlled by a TTL signal showing frames at 60 Hz.  All we need now is to process those frames.
Here is where you want to use a Consumer/Producer pattern -- you don't want to do processing inside this loop (because the loop cannot run faster than all of its parts, taken together, and if you are processing incoming data, you have to get the data, then do the processing).  Instead, you have have two loops running in parallel -- the Producer loop acquiring the videos, and then "exporting" them to a Consumer loop that processes them.
Are you familiar with this pattern?  There are numerous examples around (look in File/New/From Template/Framework/Design Patterns, and at some of the Sample Projects).  It uses a Queue, with data put onto the Queue by the Producer and removed by the Consumer.  You might need to increase the number of buffers for your camera, but you should be able to do quite a bit of processing in 1/60 of a second.

  • Do I need to convert my 12-bit camera to 8bits to "grab and save an .avi file? If so, HOW?

i am using a 12-bit camera with imaq-vision software, the latest version, along with labveiw 7.0. I narrowed the error down to the ACI write frame icon. It is giving me an error that the image type is not correct. leaving the error image is not compatible error #1074396077. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some cameras offer the option of 8 bit output, or you might be able to do it in MAX. If not, you will need to convert each image from 16 bit to 8 bit using a 4 bit shift and IMAQ Cast Image. Wire the 16 bit image as the source and an 8 bit image as the destination. Wire the output image to the AVI Write vi.

  • Have old video tapes; compact VHS. Have camera with S-video out

Have compact VHS tape archive. Have camera with S-video out & good VHS player/adapter with S-Video out. Also have old PC with dedicated hardware capture card/cable and Pinnacle Studio. Am considering starting over with purchasing iMac for editing. I could capture on the old PC and move files to iMac. If I want to do it all on iMac, what is the best way to capture and what do i need?

TExcellent suggestion! Read about it, ordered it on Wednesday and I just captured a S-VHS-C through the box from my camera to my old iMovie 6.0.3 on my G4. Worked right out of the box as advertised. Now I can experiment a bit while I muse about that I7/27" iMac I'm going to buy. I also went to the Apple workshop on IMovie/iDVD. It's a long way from my old Pinnacle Studio.

  • T400 came with 32 bit Vista but want to upgrade to 64 bit Vista...

    Hi All,
Just received my T400 not too long ago.  It came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit preinstall.  A 64-bit Vista Home Premium was not offered.  My T400 was ordered with 4 GB of RAMs.
I have already created a set of 32-bit Vista Home Premium restore discs.  I was wondering whether I can request a set of 64-bit Vista Home Premium restore discs from Lenovo.  I wanted the 64-bit version of Roxio Creator Business Edition that should be bundled with the 64-bit version OS.
Thanks in advance for those who offered help.

The product key for your T400 will work for both 32-bit and 64-bit of the Windows Vista version that was preinstalled on your ThinkPad. You can install and legally activate Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit using that product key.

  • Computers came with Windows 7 64-bit and we need Windows 7 32-bit

Our company purchased 5 IdeaCentre K300 computers from a big blue retail store. The computers came with W7 64-bit Home Premium preinstalled. We also purchased 5 Windows Anytime Upgrade PIN's  allowing us to upgrade to W7 Professional so we can add these computers to our domain. We have several products that launch from domain share and won't work with the 64-bit OS and running in XP mode just flat out doesn't work (for those apps). The person who purchased the computers was told the computers contain both 64-bit and 32-bit W7 Home Premium and we can switch to the 32-bit version by using the OneKey Recovery utility then run the Windows Anytime Upgrade. I booted one of the computer several time and pressed the F2 key when the Lenovo logo appeared and only have one option, the 64-bit version.
How do I obtain the 32-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium for these computer?
    Thanks in advance,

it's not possible to switch windows 32 <> 64 bit by performing clean windows installation ( with one key recover )
you need to install clean windows installation. download legal windows iso from the link below, then make a clean installation for your computer, for activation, use online activation or call microsoft.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-...
ps: make sure you download 32 windows. and burn recovery discs before clean windows installation, just in case.
you can download drivers from the link below:
    http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/uk/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=856301
    edit:
windows anytime upgrade pin's allowing us to upgrade to w7 professional
you may select windows 7 32 bit while upgrading windows. so you won't need to download/install windows 7 from legal iso.

  • Imaq WindDraw auto changing display with 10 bit camera

I am using a 10 bit camera. My understanding is that LabView is displaying the most significant 8 bits. Does Imaq WindDraw ALWAYS display the 8 most significant bits? Or in the case of very low level signals will Imaq WindDraw shift and display lower significant bits?
My 10 bit camera when focused in very tight seems to capture an occasional frame that appears to be just noise, no real image. This does not happen at higher signal levels.
Can that feature be turned off. Thanks for any help.

The 10 bit image is stored as a 16 bit image, which IMAQ converts to 8 bits for display. The conversion method is controlled by the function IMAQ WindDisplayMapping, found in the Display palette.
The default method is Full Dynamic, which converts the full range of the 16 bit image to an 8 bit image. The largest value in the 16 bit image is mapped to 255, and the smallest is mapped to 0.
You can select Downshift to force a fixed conversion. Read the help to get more details about how to use it. For a 10 bit image, you should downshift 2 bits to retain the most significant bits.
I'm not sure about the occasional noisy image issue, unless it is a side effect of the dynamic mapping. Try Downshift mapping and see if the problem goes away.

  • HT3905 Do I still need to install the HD writer AE 4.0 software that came with my Panasonic HC-V500 video camera or can I just upload video directly to my MAC using i-frame and the i-photo program?

I purchased the Panasonic HC-V500 video camera and it came with the HD AE 4.0 software. Do I still need to install this disc on my MAC or can I upload video directly to my computer by using i-frame and the i-movie program?

    Hi glhiker,
Your video clips will import directly into iMovie.  It's a great video editing program.  I'll include some quick video tutorials to get you started below:
    Apple - Support - Videos
When you open the iMovie application, click HELP > iMOVIE HELP on the menu bar to access the manual for the program.  One of the first topics is Importing Video.

  • VHS to DV tapes...problem with new  Sony camcorders

I had a nice Sony miniDV camcorder, the DCR HC 30. Worked great to record almost all of my VHS tapes to DV, which I am using to created my iMovies. The camcorder worked fine in this mode. It then had a problem with regular recording, capturing the audio, but not video. Known problem to Sony, who repaired the camcorder at no cost. It worked great again, but the last time I went to record from my VHS tape, it worked for an hour, and then the touch-screen menu failed to respond to touch. (Another story).
I also have a newer Sony camcorder, the DCR HC 26. Connected it to the VCR to record from the VHS tape. I then discovered that this camcorder will allow recording FROM the camcorder TO the VCR with the AV connector, but if I want to record FROM the VCR, it will only work using the DV connector into an iLink port (Firewire).
I went to the 'Sony Style' store (yes,Palo Alto has everything!) and the guy first insisted it could be done with the new HC 38 and 48, but after he actually read the manuals, it was the same as the HC26: must have a Firewire port on the VCR. How dumb is that? How many of us have all these old VHS tapes, probably old VCRs too, and none of the old ones will have FireWire ports!
I have always recommended copying VHS footage to DV tapes, and now I am not going to be able to do that unless I get a converter. Seems a bit expensive for just the few VHS tapes that I forgot to convert previously.
I tried to see if the HC 30 can be repaired again....Sony wants $211 just to check it out. I can buy a new camcorder for $320 so it doesn't seem worth it unless I can connect the touch-screen failure with the problem with video recording that was supposedly corrected.
May have to get a converter.....last resort is another old camcorder Sony TRV something. It is on its last legs, but maybe it could work for a few hours more!
Wanted to let it be known that direct recording from an old VCR to new Sony miniDV cannot be done.

Hi tilman - yes - bottom line is not to discard an old vidcam with analogue-in when buying its 'higher-speced(?!) replacement - although that doesn't help Beverly with her problem.
There must be large numbers of second-hand cams with that function being sold as people rush to buy DVD vidcams etc, so it will be worth looking out for a good cheap one.
It seems that soon the only mini-DV cams will be higher-end models, some of which, being larger, have much reduced portability. Ah! Progress!

You can try it, but probably not.
This Apple article http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2134 explains that a Firewire-connected, tape-based camera or camcorder mode will work.
If you don't have access to one that works, a simple workaround is to record your video with QuickTimeX Player (the v.10.x one from Lion).  You can import that recorded video into iMovie for editing.
If your Mac OS is earlier than Lion whose QuickTime does not offer movie recording as installed, use QuickTime7 Pro for recording.

    Hello
I have a macbook pro 2011 13" that came with OS Lion (integrated not on a disk). I recently bought OS Mountain Lion of the app store and it is working fine. However I was a bit dissapointed in the battery so I decided to try and downgrade and completely failed, I froze the computer and when I restarted it it did not work. I went into recovery system and erased my disk and all that and went to re-download my OS. I was expecting to get the option to re-download Lion but instead I could only re-download Mountain Lion.
My question is since my computer originally came with Lion can I reset my computer so I get OS Lion back instead of OS Mountain Lion?
Thanks for any help. Any answer will be appreciated even if it is saying it is not possible.

    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
        1.    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
        2.    After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
        3.    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
        4.    Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
