10.4.11 will not login

Let me explain what has happened
We recently moved from largely public addresses on our network to a local NATed setup, this ment changing the ip address on all of our clients and rejoining them to the servers new ip address.
All worked well untill we got to the only lab in the building that is using 10.4.11.
when I login with a network account the coursor will just spin and then shake as if it was a bad password. The password is correct as i have tried it on all of the newer machines.
I have even reloaded one of the computers and it still will not authenticate(same issue).
they were able to login when it was joined to the old server ip. the only thing that has changed to the ip address.
the server is 10.6.4 and Open Directory
Please help me my entire lab it use less untill i get this fixed

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that resource assumes that I'm migrating from a prior version to 10.4 (I'm migrating from a borked 10.4), and it assumes that I can export settings from a working server (again, my setup is borked, unfortunately).
I know Apple makes good stuff, but I'm surprised that this hasn't happened to anyone else.

The password is typed in correctly (per account).
A light grey screen & mouse cursor appears then we are cycled back to the login page. If we deliberately try an incorrect password we get the 'shimmy & shake' of an incorrect password.
The H/W test passed.
What do you suggest?

Itunes will not login on ATV- checked multiple times

ran the new update for apple tv then logged out of itunes thru apple tv and now the system will NOT recognize my login info. I've tried multiple times and reset system. I've entered my user/pass just how it reads on itunes, apple account, etc. (case sensetive). Any suggestions? Thanks

So if you restart computer & ATV, then at iTunes at computer you don't see ATV?
I fooled myself the other day with my old ATV by clicking on 'connect to iTunes'.
The code come up on the Tv screen, and I just expected to see a spot to enter the code on the computer, but I was already connected.
And you will see ATV at iTunes.
But I may have scrolled past the menu on iTunes left panel hiding it.
This may not be your issue from the details you have.

Hi, I've had this problem for a little over three weeks now. It all started happening when my MacBook Pro froze in the middle of a show on netflix. I restarted the computer and logged in after much time, only to discover annoying windows asking for a keychain password. I typed in the password only for it to reappear moments later and they would not go away. I tried every password in existence and ended up just moving them to the side of the screen so I could continue using my macbook. Then, the next day, my macbook would not login. I shut it and when I reopened it, it was logged in. Now, the windows randomly pop up and my computer still won't login unless I type the password, shut it and reopen. Is there any way to fix this?

Have you tried holding the power button down for several seconds? I would try the force quit as mentioned earlier first, or go to the Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities and try force quit there.

Mac will not login and will not get past start up blue screen

I installed a new security update and then I clicked for the computer to restart after it did it would not login into the computer, it just stays on the blue screen and says starting Mac OS X... Also before I had to login with my username and password and it just automatically skipped that step and tried to login. I have tried using the disk utility in the install disk, I have also tried the fsck and nothing seems to be working. Please help with any ideas or thoughts you might have.

Hi table,
I had the bluescreen thing happen to me a while back. I too tried to login as 'safe-mode'. The first time I tried it I must have gotten the timing wrong because the login window did not appear. I did eventually get the timing right and it worked, however prior to that while I was sitting there looking at a blank, blue screen I hit the enter key. The login window just 'popped' in at that point. It may not work for you but it couldn't hurt to try it.

Isync will not login with new mobile me, need to change from .mac

I have been trying to sync but my old .mac user name and password are not working now with mobile me. Shows that login is valid but I get an error message - There was a problem with the sync operation. .Mac login failed. I assume that I need to change the login address from .mac to a mobile me address. Any ideas out there? Apple has nothing on this problem.

Patience. MobileMe is a mess.
When Apple substantially modified .Mac Sync to support extended attributes available with the introduction of Mac OS X 10.5, and simultaneously dropped support for for the most part for Mac OS X 10.3.9, it was three weeks until normal service was restored. And even then, most of the issues individual users had with .Mac sync prior to the transition were still present.
If you value your data, back it up and wait for an announcement from Apple that it works as expected.

After recent upgrade one of my accounts will not login

Since the upgrade last week I am getting this constantly for one of my accounts. I have 42 email accounts and all have lived happily in Thunderbird for some years, but despite lowering the security in Gmail and changing the password, Thunderbird still has a problem with just this one account.
Any suggestions?

Maybe check with the app developer and ask if their app works with iOS8? Otherwise you might want to identify the app if you would like some help with troubleshooting. Others can then tell you if it is working on their devices.

Webconsole will not login

Here is one... Webconsole will allow us to login on one server no problems
however, when configured on another server, after entering username/password it just takes you right back to the initial login screen with no visible errors
IIS6 and Windows 2003 is what we are using

Macbook pro will not login after typing in password.

Whenever I type in the password, pressing enter will just highlight the password I typed in and do nothing. Whenever I click the enter button, nothing happens either. I can still use the media keys and play songs through spotify... I just cannot login. Whenever I hold the power button down, nothing happens either, I can't even turn it off.

I closed the laptop, came back and opened it, and that's how the problem happened.

TS1989 it will not login

Hi i have a G5 with Lion instaled. When i first turn on the machine i get the apple symbol and the bar underneath. It takes about 5 mins for the bar to fill then the login screen comes up. after typing in the password the screen goes white then back to the login screen again.
i ve tried to reload Lion but cannot do it as it tells me the hard drives are locked.
The machine works on Bootcamp on windows side.

I have some AD users that login correctly and others that will not

Currently have binding setup and all is well, then I get notice that some of the AD accounts will not login, they get the screen shake. If I shortent their login name from john.smith to john.sm they login fine??????????? Anyone experiencing this?

With all due respect, that means you didn't follow the instructions Apple provided.
iMessage is an option, not a requirement. Before you go off on an anti-Apple rant, perhaps you should at least attempt to follow their directions?
And yes, your WIRELESS CARRIER should have told you that when you went to switch from Apple to a non-Apple device. How is Apple supposed to know that you're about to switch from an iPhone to a non-iPhone? Did you call them? Did you visit a store? Did you come to this forum?
I agree that your WIRELESS CARRIER should have given you a heads up. Because they are the only one that could have possibly know (other than you) that you were going to switch brands.

Network accounts do not login in

Hi everyone,
last month our Xserve G5 with Leopard Server which controlled user accounts in our computer labs died. We replaced it with a Mac mini server (that includes Lion Server) –by the way, this is the first server that I ever setup–.During initial configuration, the server was fully updated to Lion server 10.7.3, and stablished as an OD Master. I didn't import anything from the old server, so all accounts and groups and preferences and everything have been defined from scratch.
Everything was working good until I finish the setup and try to connect from one of our Leopard client machines. I configure that machine with Directory Utility with settings from the server, and the server responds just fine, the client sets everything up automatically for authentication and contacts. Everything seems to be normal until I log out and try to connect with one of the network accounts.The account will not login, the login window just shakes and does nothing. Odd enough, the login window tells that network accounts are available (captures are in Spanish).
When I login again as a local admin account, I check Directory Utility and when I look at the LDAP configuration, in the search & maps tab of the window, I find these two red registers (UserAuthenticationData and OLCLDIFConfig). I don't know if this is related to the problem, but this is where I get stuck and don't know where else to go...
Any ideas?

I was able to activate the debug log in the Leopard client machine, but I don't know how to look from another machine via SSH... Could you explain a bit the procedure? Is it possible to try to log in as a network user and then, after failure, log in as an admin account and check the log with Console?
