10.4.6/firmware update and sync not working? No, .mac is down

I went to sync .mac this morning, and I guess it was the first time since installing the firmware update and 10.4.6. It first said another computer with the same name was registered, then hung. Next time it said it was not registered and proceeded to sync very slowly then exit with errors. After a reboot there was still trouble. Then I thought to check and found on .mac that the sync service was down since yesterday, and remains down.
Funny how I thought my system was acting crazy when it was the .mac system itself that's experiencing problems.

  • Cisco Router tried to take a firmware update and no longer works

    Ok so internet was working fine until Cisco Connect told me to take an update.  My connection is wired and there were no disruptions during the download.  Yet the download still failed and now my power light blinks continuously and there is no internet access.  I tried instructions on "How to unbrick your Cisco Router", even got them to work, it took the firmware update from the cmd line.  Still doesnt work though.  What's wrong with this thing and how do i fix it?

    I ended up downloading a firmware utility program and was able to get it to reload. The power light became solid somewhere between 2-5 mins, however still didnt connect to the internet.  Found that all this factory resetting will change your Internet access name & password, with no way to find out the new one.  You have to remove the Cisco Connect program from your computer and reload it from the original disk.  Only then will you be up and running again.  While I appreciate the response Helm, I was way beyond a 30 second reset button solution when I posted this lol.

  • Updated to 10.6.8 software update and itunes not working

    I recently upgraded to 10.6.3, then installed the 10.6.8. I have tried using the software update and it tells me that my network is not available, but when I when the check it says everything is fine. I have tried to connect to the Mac App store & Itunes and it gives me the same error message. Any ideas???

    Did you use the Combo update.   This is the route to go; then software update (about seven of them).

    Is there a solution to play music from my iPod touch on my Sony Home Theater System DAV HDX 287WC after recent firmware/software upgrade? However, I am still able to play music through my ipod classic, but I am really missing the the functionality of the iPod touch with my home theater system.

    Apple software update says "could not connect verify a connection with the app store". Safari wont even display google. Both apps open up initially.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

  • Cloud Files Sync not working on Mac - Folder is archived

    The sync of files in my cloud is not working at all. I wanted to try this feature out for the first time and this is what I always get as a screen:
    It appears again and again.
    I do see an adobe cloud folder but it has (archived) written behind it.
    Please can someone tell me what is wrong?

  • Knocked off network by iPhone firmware updates and syncs

    Every time I either sync the iphone or update iPhone firmware, I get knocked off my internal web network and must reboot my computer to once again have web and email access. It always occurs <during> firmware downloads, so I have to reboot my computer mid-download for the download to continue, and sometimes several times to achieve the full download. The (Airport Xtreme)router does not need to be rebooted. Nothing else I do has this effect (knocking me off the network). Very frustrating and time-consuming -- any clues?

  • Ipod Update and Windows - Not Working. 1.1.2. Downgrade?

    I installed 1.1.2 on my 160GB yesterday and it has basically ruined my ipod. Something is wrong with the windows version of this update. I can get itunes to recognize it only if I put the ipod in disk mode. But then when I disconnect it from the computer it will just go to the apple logo screen and repeatedly reboot itself until the battery dies. I took it to the apple store and they got it working by doing a restore on a mac. When I got back home, I restored to Windows and it's back to the same problem. So something is wrong with the update. I also tried restoring on a different windows PC just in case there was something wrong with my download. It didn't help. Same problem.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    How can I get back to the old firmware. It would have been nice if apple would test their software BEFORE they released it.

    As one who is running Windows XP, I updated to 1.1.2 absolutely smoothly yesterday. I waited to see if there was a consensus as to any pervasive problems - the fact that there are so few posts about this update indicated to me there are no major issues. There seems to be nothing inherently wrong with the Windows version of the update. Are you sure you are allowing the update to complete before disconnecting it from the PC? I always wait for the iPod to reboot and run another complete synchronization before disconnecting it.
    To Downgrade your firmaware:
    Disconnect your iPod from your PC and shut down iTunes
    Delete the files for the version 1.1.2 from your PC. In Windows XP they can be found at C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates. Make sure you have the files for the previous version of the firmware.
    Start iTunes and disable checking for updates automatically (Preferences > General)
    Connect your iPod and click the Restore button. You should be asked if you wish to load an older version of the firmware (answer yes).
    Let the restore do its thing
    Resync your iPod
    My guess is you will need to put the iPod into disk mode first, since you say that this is the only way it will be recognized.

    Ok There seems to be alot of confusion on hear about the Friday ( 07-08-11) Update that was sent out to fix the Reboot issue with the Phone. Some people like my self have reported that they can not get the Update as there phone is getting an inability to connect to the network error, or the update window simply disappears with out a response (This is what is happening to me).
    Many have reported that they got the update it fixed the reboot bug, and that they are seeing improvement in the phones functionality in general. Some people have reported that they have heard that the update is causing more problems. What I have yet to see (And I might have simply missed them) is reports from users that this has actually happened to them. So I started this Thread to see if we can't get a straight answer from the people that are actually using the phone (Because it seems VZW and HTC don't' seem to know or want to tell us right now) 
    So hear is what Im asking 
    1) Did you get the Update 
    2) Did it Fix The Reboot Bug From The Last Update
    3) How is the performance of the phone now
    4) Has the latest update brought any new problems
    Hopefully this clears up any confusion and we can all get a clear idea of weather this update is a worth bothering with.

    3) How is the performance of the phone now  Much better, I no longer have data drops so I no longer need to turn on and off Airplane mode to get data back

    I have a 3G, 3.0 firmware, and whenever I copy and paste from Safari to email the images always come in as text links NOT as shown in the demo videos on the iPhone website, what gives?

    Just following up with my own question. After rebooting the iPhone, images pasted properly into emails.

  • Drag and drop not working on Mac

    By testing my extension in a Mac I noticed that drag and drop doesn't work as expected. Therefore I have created a new simple extension with only one list and a simple data provider:

    this should allow the user to reorder the items in the list by dragging them.
    It works fine in Windows as extension for Photoshop CS6 and also in Mac as AIR application but it doesn't works as Photoshop CS6 extension in Mac (Lion); I can neither see the drop line between items.
    Is this a known problem and which is the workaround ?

    I hope someone can help me, I'm really desperate on this as I can't find a solution
    Native drag and drop works but no others, have tested in Lion and Mountain Lion. Can't drag elements in a list to reorder them and can't drag between lists.
    It seems the only event fired is dragcomplete, the drag indicator is not shown but I can skin the dragged item.
    Have tried adding manual drag-drop control ( http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=dragdrop_5.html ) without luck
    Any help or workaround would be appreciated.

  • Keychain Sync not working with .mac.

    This is really strange. Everytime i do a .mac sync, latest items get deleted from my keychain (i am using login keychain). To see what was happening, i have done a reset sync data for keychain with 'replace data on .mac with sync info from this computer' and still that results in latest passwords being deleted.
    can anyone suggest a trouble shooting avenue? this is driving me nuts.

    Keychain synchronization is a .Mac Sync function, now unrelated to iSync for users of Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

  • Elements 11 Organizer and Editor not working together (Mac)

    Is there a way to get the organizer that comes with Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (Mac) with Photoshop Elements 11 Editor (Mac)?
    I previously downloaded Elements 11 Editor from Mac iTunes Store, this version does not come with Organizer.  I then found I had a copy of organizer with Premiere Elements 11.  After install I can use both products fine, but cannot use edior to edit my photos from the Organizer.  The message "the feature you selected requires adobe photoshop elements" appears.
    Does anybody know how this can be resolved (if it is possible?)

    In that same window there should be a series of buttons where you choose to see PSE options, PRE options or both.
    EDIT However, I doubt you can make this work. Hardly anybody would do it this way, so it's not surprising that PSE isn't set up for it, but FWIW, it's also a problem with things like certain versions of PS with particular versions of organizer.

  • Bold and Italic Not Working in Mac Mail

    I was looking for answers about why my upgrade from SnowLeopard to MountainLion caused my Mac Mail to stop having the ability to change type to bold or italic with shortcuts (i.e.Command + B, Command+i). I didn't find anything helpful, so I thought I'd share my workaround.
    I opened FontBook and removed any duplicate fonts and then restarted Mac Mail. Immediately my shortcuts started working.
    Hope this helps someone else!

    Go to mail> preferences > fots and colours > try change to a different font such as arial. Your issue will probably be fixed
